We love the community feel and GF goodies here, but the new layout feels cramped and keeps customers from achieving what I assume is a mutual goal of getting a good coffee and a snack. The new arrangement has the feng shui of a bachelor pad. Get into the restroom feels like an imposition into someone's private space. While the service has never been speedy, it now feels like baristas are actively trying to avoid eye contact -- made all the more easy by the strange counter set up. This morning, I stood there for five minutes with no communication and finally walked out to a different café. We want this place to survive, but it I feel like I am going more out of goodwill than a quality experience. I'm hoping it's just the place getting its sea legs -- and that it might feel less like a sea cabin with some adjustments to the layout. read more

I've been frequenting Corvus since I moved here a couple years ago. It's always been a pleasure and a treat to come in. I was hopeful new ownership would maintain the consistency, the vibe, and the selection. That hasn't been the case. Every time I go in, the case is bare, or full of non-staples we've come to love and enjoy, the line is long, the staff lethargic and unenthusiastic, confused even. There used to always be 2-3 staff working together to make things smooth. Now you're lucky someone is in there. The set up change is unsightly. The interior used to feel warm, majestic. Now you just see empty case, which you can barely see because the people in line block it. Today I got a blueberry muffin that was basically dough in the middle. Corvus Bakery is seriously amazing -- everything here is 100% gluten-free, which is huge for us. My daughter has a severe gluten allergy, so it's one of the few places I can actually take her and not have to stress. The food is so good you'd never even guess it's gluten-free -- the pastries, cookies, and breads are all next level. This was my first visit to Corvus Bakery and I will definitely give it another try. The big plus is that they are, in fact, an entirely gluten-free bakery, which is rare. The staff was very friendly and doing their best to keep up on a busy Sunday afternoon. They seemed low on pastry and I heard them say they were also low on some supplies, although I was not affected. I ordered (to takeaway) a blueberry muffin and a chocolate raspberry cupcake to sample pastry styles. The cupcake was a disappointment, with tasty chocolate frosting and raspberry filling, but cake that was fairly flavorless and a bit dry. Great little coffee& bakery! Passed by the little gem while discovering the area and stumbled into this shop. The all gluten free sign made us walk in and try their treats. We did not try the coffees but did try the Maple donut that's was just fantastic and cinnamon roll, banana muffin and carrot muffins. We're very grateful to have a local gluten free bakery that takes their dedicated gluten free kitchen so seriously. I always feel safe getting pastries here, and the pastries we've gotten are tasty. I love the cinnamon rolls, paleo muffins and the scones. Being able to take home cinnamon rolls to bake is a great option too. The only bummer is they desparately need a barista. We've tried the coffee multiple times and it's the oddest coffee. The americanos and lattes taste like they are probably 90% water and 10% coffee. Fingers crossed that they hire a barista. I'm a sucker for bakeries and when I saw this shop located across the Del Oro Theatre I immediately checked it out. Cute interior with indoor and outdoor available seating. I walked in around 3:00p, 1.5 hrs before they closed at 4:30p. Selection was sparse especially on their cakes. I really wanted to try their carrot cake and the cinnamon roll. So I went over to the cookies and pastry side of the counter. I chose two cookies, Chocolate Crinkle and Peanut Butter. I ate the chocolate cookie first... it was soft and warm and heavenly. What an absolute shame, this place used to amazing but since the new owners took over it's slowly gone down hill. All of the original baristas and bakers who made this place what it was are gone and now the baked goods and coffee are mediocre at best and that's being generous. If you want to save this business hire some real baristas and bakers again instead of trying to take over the business yourself to maximize profits. read more

Heading back to the Bay Area from Reno, we decided to make a little pit stop to this bakery, I have celiacs so any opportunity I have to try a new bakery or any restaurant where I can enjoy some food I used to love is an automatic go for me. First off, it's in a very cute area, there's lots to do in the surrounding town, parking was a little bit tight on a Sunday. I came into the building and staff were very friendly and easy going which made the experience great, I double checked with them that the pastries were in fact gluten free just for my own peace of mind and they did confirm and from there I ordered lots of different pastries for my house and some family as well. My favorite was the cinnamon roll, it wasn't dry like most gluten free things are, the cookies were also great, overall I wouldn't mind making a trip out here for the bakery again! read more

The little Clint Howard orc came out and was excited to let me know that as a gluten free establishment they didn't allow outside food to be on premises. I was walking around downtown and couldn't drop them off anywhere and the boxes were closed. I'm sure any gluten molecules were properly contained. I had come about 10:30am so the case was pretty picked over, BUT they did have a chocolate almond cookie. It was also very good. Moist, very chocolatey, very messy everything you want in that type of cookie. While waiting for my coffee I walked around looking at things and found another case with more VEGAN food items. The chocolate crinkle cookie was my favorite, but also the coffee cake and the meringue were so good. I had a decaff americano with their mushroom syrup and I have to tell you it was delicious. It is not often you run into a 100% Gluten-Free bakery in a small town but it is here! My wife is gluten-free so finding tasty baked goods can be difficult. We saw Corvus and immediately dove in. The staff was super helpful and informative. They sold out of cinnamon rolls but had just put a fresh batch in the oven. We came back 20 min later and got cinnamon roll gold! The fresh hot gooey goodness was hot out of the oven. My wife was in heaven. I had a pumpkin spice latte to help me celebrate Cornish Christmas and it did not disappoint.
