We recently tried Corvus and it was funny because when I was inside ordering and saw the name of the biz, said to the employee: "OH! I spotted you on Yelp before we even came up here... and coincidentally, here we are" It's a very cute coffee/bakery spot. It's decorated in a way that I enjoy the aesthetic and the food was very well made and thoughtfully created. These details were very obvious. It's also easily located in one of the more hotspot downtown streets, which they happened to have a weekend curbside walk about event for all the vendors on the day we were there. For us, our coffee and my matcha latte were not as sweet as we like. This is not a knock on the business, it's just.... a preference thing. If you like that strong flavor with wholesome quality, it's definitely worth a visit. I also ordered one of the carrot cupcakes which was VERY moist. Delicious in theory, now why do I say that? We're not like most vegans. We're not super fans of raisins unless they're dark chocolate snack style. We both don't like the flavors or nutty version of walnuts and I don't like coconut shavings soooooo, this cupcake and I were on different levels BUT..... my wife was like, "mention in your review that the buttercream was amazing!" Lol, yes that buttercream was great. The cupcake was great, I just don't like a bunch of the ingredients, unfortunately. I love this place for it's most delicious brownies and baked goods, it's calming vibes and always good music, it's excellent quality coffee and it's kind staff. It's a great place to go read a book or do a little work. It's easily my favorite cafe in Grass Valley! read more

Oh. My. GOSH!! So so good. We made a 45 minute drive to try this place out. I have Celiacs and therefor, limited options on where I can eat. This place was everything I had hoped for. I had the cinnamon roll and a latte. Both incredible. My husband got the vegetable hand pie. I took a nibble of his and wow wow wow. It tasted like I always wished pot pie tasted like, but they never do. I brought home an apple hand pie and it too, was delicious. Looking forward to going back. read more

Our second visit to this gem of a bakery! I'm always excited when everything is gluten free and this cafe does not disappoint! Today we arrived late and missed out on some of the delicious-sounding options (and their signature chai, which is outstanding), but we were very happy with our frittata and baked goods! The carrot cake was to die for as was the Persian love cake. The texture of both cakes was rich and smooth, not missing the gluten at all. I was thrilled to find a dedicated gf bakery on our trip to Grass Valley. We shared the blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll, and sausage roll for breakfast. All were fantastic. My husband, who doesn't have to eat gf, said the cinnamon roll was one of the best he's had. The best bakery for sweet treats in the Grass Valley area whether or not you're gluten free. I haven't tried anything from Corvus that I haven't loved and I ask my family to get me Corvus pastries for every special occasion. While at times I wish there were more dairy free/plant based options I'm not mad because this is a gluten free bakery first and foremost, and they do usually have multiple options for dairy free people. I recently tried a gluten free bakery in the bay... could not match Corvus in variety or taste. read more

Today I made my first visit to Corvus and I'm certainly a fan. The carrot cake cupcake is moist, nutty and totally delicious. I'm not sure how they made the frosting but it's fantastic. Gem of a place! Took a day trip to try this bakery and visit Empire State mine. Made my day that they had gluten free and outdoor dining. Family had the chicken apple frittata. I had the salad . We had lovely treats too. My family said it didnt taste gluten free! I saw grain in my sAlad and the waitresses responded we are celiac safe. My only regret is not buying cinnamon rolls for Sunday morning. It truly made my day to be able to go on a day trip and safely eat! read more

The customer service and caring was outstanding. I was waiting for a young woman who had just lost her mother. I told them upfront that I wasn't ordering, but waiting for the young lady and that there might be tears. They showed me to a lovely table that was as private as one could be in a restaurant. genuinely one of the best bakeries (gluten free or not) in Nevada county!! everything is always so moist, flavorful, and unique. We were in town for a wedding for three days and came here twice. It is a fantastic bakery. They had a number of options for both with and without dairy. We visited Grass Valley in September, and we needed to find a coffee spot in town. I checked out Corvus the first morning, and went back the next 2 days as well. I went for the coffee, but stayed for the amazing baked goods! There wasn't a single thing I tried that wasn't delicious...the blueberry muffins were the best I've ever had...not greasy or heavy at all, but light and flavorful. I also tried the maple mini donuts, an orange/almond cake, a strawberry scone and cinnamon rolls (blew my diet). The staff were very friendly and accommodating...I'll definitely be back when we next visit. read more

As far as I'm concerned this is best gluten free bakery that exists. We stopped in for breakfast on our way through town and had a veggie hand pie, coffee cake, blueberry scone, and peanut butter cookies. All exceptional and unique. In my experience GF bakeries often use a master recipe and then format it into different shapes, flavors. Not here! Everything we ordered had it's own texture, balance, and flavor. Corvus makes amazing gluten free things, I just had a rose cardamom italian soda, light flavors, sweet but not too sweet. Very different. I didn't even notice they were a gluten-free bakery until my husband pointed it out on their front door. I try to eat gluten free as much as possible, so it was a bonus. Nice little coffee shop in addition to coffee and tea they serve pastries salads pies good selection. We enjoyed our lunch, but diapointed in the service. The food didn't arrive at the same time. We ordered a hot and cold dish. The hot dish was served first. I waited for my partners dish so we could eat together no such luck finally had to track down the server. She didn't seem to realize food should be served all once not piecemeal. Restaurants in grass valley are struggling due to COVID. Focusing on service might draw more customers. read more

I was SO happy to find this place! I didn't think there was any chance of finding GF pasties, but they had one, and a veggie one I could share with my vegetarian boyfriend! (They called it a hand pie.)The crust was great, tasty and flaky, and had lovely herbs and spices. My BF was excited they had a cookie made with monk fruit (he doesn't do sugar), and it was yummy (chocolate -dipped peanut butter). I got a chocolate crinkle cookie--crispy outside, brownie-like inside. I also got a couple of cupcakes. I ended up not eating them right away, but they were still really good. That icing was delicious. One was chocolate, the others was rose cardamom, I think. Everyone was really nice, and the owner or manager was great and also named Laura, which is a point in her favor. :) Oh, and they brought out a cake someone had ordered, and it was beautiful. We will stop there every time we're in Grass Valley. read more
