Coming to three forks was such a treat being able to get something yummy that's also locally sourced. We ordered a house sausage pizza and to add the salami to the pizza which was a great choice loved the pizza we watched it get made right in front of us and their bacon and cheddar melt. I personally though the bacon and cheddar melt was fine I probably wouldn't order it again looking back on it just simply on the fact it was $21 and the pizza was $23 it just felt very boring and overpriced in comparison to the pizza. I do love the sustainability of this place but find it odd the water cups are plastic after all the effort put into reusable, sustainable, organic, and farm fresh It definitely eat here again especially with the fact the menu is always changing the pastries here were a hit every other table had something from the bakery or a pizza. This is a great spot to come on a date or with a bunch of friends. I haven't tried the brews here yet but I'm looking forward to it. The staff here are very sweet and food comes out quickly. Though space is limited, it's not so tight you can't move around. There are places to sit at the bar, inside, or on the patio after ordering your food. We ordered the pizza, tuna melts, and tea. You order inside and they bring your order to you when it's ready. The coffee was good and so was the cappuccino. We shared the chili. It was meatless and very good. We didn't miss the meat at all. Hubby loved the lamb sandwich and said he will def be coming back for it. He's very judgmental about lamb and how it's prepared. He thought this was outstanding. They are known for pizzas and pastries, so I stood in line for 30 minutes to try their pastries, peep my picture. Every thing was pretty tasty, except the chocolate chip cookie. There was a hint of spicyness to it what my tastebuds did not like very much. Otherwise, the Earl Gray cookie was different, in a good way and I loved the hazelnut pastry! Would I come back? Pretty good! Arrived on a Saturday. There was a little bit of a line but it moved along. Inside seating was filled up and people were saving tables yet they hadn't ordered. Wife ordered the meatball sub and I had the salami and cheese pizza. The pizza was very good and fresh. Really enjoyed it and definitely would get again. The meatball sub was good - but not amazing. Visiting the Nevada City / Grass Valley area after visiting the Crystal Hermitage Gardens at Amanda Village during the tulip bloom. I absolutely love this area and had planned to visit Three Forks last year but the line was out the door and my friend and I were too hungry to wait. So, I was thrilled to check this restaurant out during our visit this year. I love the rustic interior of this place and we were fortunate that they have a great patio because the weather was perfect for Al Fresco dining.. We craved pizza and a salad and all their pizzas appealed to us, but we decided on the Roasted Mushroom & Arugula Pesto pizza. The combination of shiitake and oyster mushrooms was perfect along with the castelvetrano olives, green onion and garlic the melted provolone and grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, this pizza was also sauced lightly with a tomato sauce on the base of the crust , the pesto was great too and drizzled over top and the crust, it was thin and crispy. It was simply Yummy. To accompany our pizza we shared an Arugula and roasted asparagus salad peppered with radishes, Spring onion and almond tossed in lemon vinaigrette. The radishes were sliced razor thin and mixed along with shaved parm. The asparagus was super thinly sliced and lightly charred giving them a nice smoky taste. Three Forks you order at the counter and grab a number and the food is brought to the table. They use real plates and silverware along with cloth napkins, a nice touch! I wish this bakery/restaurant/brewery had a location in Reno-but we are willing to drive to Nevada City to eat here. Today we had the caramelized onion spread with tapenade and chèvre spread on some of their delicious toasted French bread along with some minestrone soup. Everything is fresh grown at local farms and they plan their weekly menu around what's fresh and available. I love that their menu is constantly changing! Of course we had the get baked goods sharing a piece of decadent, rich, dense chocolate cream pie and taking home a loaf of French bread and a variety of cookies. I had a homemade croissant and it was to die for. We did wait around after pastries to get lunch at 11 when they serve it and were not disappointed! The veggie sandwich was exceptional! It was packed with layers of veggies and a delicious sauce that made each bite so flavorful. My husband and I split the sandwich as it was generously portioned. Wandering around Nevada City and happened upon this gem. A gentleman outside minding someone else's dog while they bought coffee told me it was one of the best places in town. So after petting the dog, I decided to eat for myself. I was immediately impressed by the list of locally-sourced produce--a woman actually walked in and handed off a tub of something to the manager while I was eating--and the eclectic menu. I had a delicious roasted beet salad with orange and quinoa (with the addition of goat chèvre) and a Cold Plunge IPA. Also had to take some carrot cake to go. Absolutely excellent experience and fantastic surprise. I went out for the day from the bay with my brother and best friend to Tahoe National Forest to hike alongside the Yuba River. As we usually do together on our day trips, we find a nice local spot for a beer and some good food, and we stumbled upon Three Forks Bakery and Brewing Co. First impression was that it was packed with nothing but good vibes with a classic pub ambiance. We waited in line for maybe 5-8 minutes and decided to order a beer and a pizza to split as an appetizer to "think" about what to do about dinner. My brotha Zayn and the older man at the front were both super energetic, enthusiastic, and helpful in describing the beer and other menu choices. Now onto to the food and beer... First of all, the beer was absolutely marvelous. Oh my goodness. I ordered the Maibock to start, a strong traditional malty german lager that I rarely see at other breweries back home (one of my favorite seasonal beers ever is a Maibock). This one was just as good if not better. It was so smooth, refreshing, and a just a complete embodiment of spring with the floral flavor and freshness. Second of all....by golly gee hallelujah we ordered a vegetarian pizza that had fontina cheese if I'm not mistaken and green onion and cannot remember the name of it and neither is it online nor in my photo album...but wowza this pizza AND the delicious dill packed ranch absolutely convinced us to order 2 more pizzas (the fontina) and a regular cheese to complete our quest for dinner. With our dinner, we ordered another beer. I ordered the Oak Tree Pale Ale which was very delicious and a great pairing with the pizza. We ordered one final beer for after and it did not disappoint. I wanted a light beer to finish, so chose the Blonde and it was so clean, crisp, and a refreshingly delicious capstone to the night. I had to run through Nevada City for work and was peckish for lunch. I am so happy to have found this place. My life has been changed for the better. I got the Summer Vegetable Melt - it was SO GOOD it had me thinking world peach was a real possibility. The focaccia was crispy and soft, the vegetables were incredibly flavorful, the pickled shishitos gave it a perfect bite, everything about this sandwich was 10/10 perfect. At the servers' recommendations, we got a lamb pizza and a mushroom kale pizza, plus a side of wood fired broccoli with miso walnut sauce. I wasn't sure if the unique flavors would work but everything was super well executed and tasted on point -- this is a place that does creative rotating seasonal menu items right. I have a gluten allergy (non-celiac). Decent options for gf at an additional price - sandwiches can be in a wrap, pizza gf crust, cornbread instead of reg bread as a side w salads. Brought our dog. Signs in window say no dogs except service animals but they do have water bowls on the patio, so I think dogs are welcome on patio but not inside unless is a seeing eye dog or whatnot. Counter service and you have to set the table for yourself and also clear your placesetting, wipe off the table etc. So for that to suggest a 20% tip is a stretch. read more

We loved everything here, but I want to give a special shout out to their gluten free options, especially their gf pizza crust, which is a chick pea based farinata crust. Some have complained about it being "soggy". I get it - if you're looking for a crispy crust that's trying to imitate a wheat flour crust, this isn't that. But know what? In my experience, gf crusts that try and be a regular crust are disappointing and usually have a cardboard texture.
