Came in on 12/16/25 with my beautiful wife and adorable toddler, MeZe Eatery is located on Miller St in Grass Valley, CA. We came in hungry, promptly ordered our food, and sat down. The staff member who took our order was very knowledgeable and courteous. Kudos to that young man being professional while being busy. I ordered the Beef and Lamb fat Kebab Plate and it was amazing! I had several different styles of Mediterranean Cuisine but this restaurant was the tastiest, savoriest, finger-licking... the food size was plenty, the flavor astronomical, service was pristine, and the ambiance was casual. Stopped to eat there today as I was walking the downtown strip and noticed something very alarming about their menu, so we chose to go down the street and eat elsewhere. The red flag: calling Mediterranean food items "Israeli". Then when I looked online to confirm my suspicions, it was noted that the owners are non-vaxxers. This is not a business that should still be open and it definitely shouldn't be located in a town that condemns genocide. Stealing cuisine from other countries and calling it "Israeli" just because you feel it? This place is an embarrassment to Grass Valley. read more

Delicious take away food! My picky eater even loved the super fresh hummus and pita. The beets were delicious, falafel plate was tasty but the sauces ran together. My brother really liked the chicken. Of course the hit was the chocolate mousse and my SIL and I liked the key lime dessert but it could have been a little more tart on the tart part and creamy on the creamy part. The vibrant falafels were so tasty we ordered seconds. get those for sure. the desserts were also very tasty, and i think dairy free, which made them more impressive. the aromas wafting in the kitchen on a cold day were so cozy and intoxicating, and the service was also memorable with genuine smiles and attentive care. Excellent Grass Valley eatery with the Best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. Get the Meze plate with all the great hummus, baba ganoush, etc. The full pita sandwich deluxe version, is excellent. They even have gluten free pita, and the regular version is fluffy & delicious. The restaurant has both an indoor dining area and a little outdoor seating space. This is one of my go-to restaurants in the twin towns (GV and NC). read more

The small cup of dessert was called a Malabi and was a vegan version of a Persian dessert made with coconut milk, rose water, pomegranate syrup, and spices topped with pistachios. One of my favorite places to dine I've tried most everything. The lamb/beef shawarma plate is my go to. One thing I really appreciate about this place is their kids plates. Stopped by MeZe for dinner over the weekend and had a good experience. Located in the cute downtown area, Meze offers a modern environment for Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine. Food - The food was pretty good. We both ordered the paleo bowl and it was chock full of good stuff. The chicken was very tasty and the veggies and sauces complimented everything else very well. Atmosphere - The restaurant itself is not very big and wouldn't be very friendly to larger groups. There is an outdoor area where a larger group could dine, but indoors there's limited seating. It's overall fairly clean and they play some good music to get you in the mood for some good food. Service - The service is pretty much deli style. You order at the counter and you get the food yourself when your order is called. They have complimentary water that you can also serve yourself (which I like because I can be a thirsty boy). The staff were friendly in our interactions with them. Overall, it was a good meal and I would consider returning if I was in the mood for that type of food. read more

Shift change new people forgot to tell us the order was ready. Open up order Chicken not beef and lamb. Go up told no we ordered Chicken. Nope we ordered beef and lamb. Told I would have to pay more to correct the order. Said fine I will eat the chicken even though NOT what we ordered and paid for. Super small portion of chicken. There's a small amount of indoor seating, but also outdoor seating offered. Lots of great options to choose from, my family went with a spread. It took around 10 minutes for our food to be prepared. I got the paleo bowl, and it was amazing. Great portion size, and all the veggies were so fresh. The chicken was tender and succulent, and all the sauces elevated the flavor. I was excited to see that they had included one falafel to try! I tasted some pita and it was delicious, everything seemed very high quality. Wow, what a find MeZe is! The food is delicious. We tried the chicken shawarma plate with salads, sauces, hummus, falafels and pita. The chicken shawarma was tender and deliciously spiced. The hummus is so creamy and flavorful. The saurkraut tasted homemade as did the pita. The falafels were probably the best I've tasted. Delicious food! What a gem in grass valley! MeZe is located right in the heart of grass valley and has a great ambiance- good indoor and outdoor seating, with cute decorations and a handwritten menu. I got the falafel dip plate, which was GREAT! So fun to eat and a great value for the price. It comes with five falafels, hummus, cucumber/tomato salad, kale/quinoa salad, and a variety of other dips, which were all delicious and flavorful. The falafels were perfectly crunchy on the outside and flavor-packed on the inside. It also came with a fluffy pita which was perfect for stuffing the dips and falafels into. Food came out fast and I got this plate per the employee's recommendation, so great service. Wish I lived closer so I could go back! read more

The space seemed charming, but I had people at home waiting for me, so I couldn't stay. Flavors were delicious, service was friendly, and portion was great--restaurant/food prices are up everywhere, but I have no complaint on the value here. If I'd dined in, I think I would have asked about sauces. (I didn't see any out for customer use.) My food was delicious, but I love playing with sauces, especially when they can add some heat. My wait seemed long for a single dish and the volume of orders being taken at the time. I'll return, and I hope to enjoy the patio/parklet seating outside. read more
