This was our second visit to Moi's. We ordered take out; orange chicken, it was served with fresh broccoli. It had large pieces of chicken with a very good flavor, fried spring rolls, the whole family enjoyed the rolls. It needed more than one sauce so everyone could try it. I think it was king pao chicken, the chicken was ground with a lemon grass taste. We didn't think it was spicy but there were lots of flavors. I think I would try something different next time just because of the ground chicken. Chow mein, wasn't the kids favorite cause I think it had lemon grass in it. Over all delightful flavorful food. I've lived in the area for over 20 years and have never tried Moi's Thai. I finally tried them this weekend. I ordered the chicken pad Thai, beef chow mein and orange chicken. Everything was delicious!! I ordered for takeout and even when I got home everything was steaming hot and the smells were amazing! Looking forward to going back and trying their lunch special fried rice! I gave 4 out of 5 stars because the man at the friend desk could've been slightly more friendly. I have been ordering from Moi's for about 2 years now. I like the food and yes, the front of the house guy is a little odd, but who isn't. The food is decent. I'm a Pentucky local and I understand that the restaurants get busy and slow. Moi's is a joke. Every time I go there I'm disappointed. The husband is so rude! I went there today and was told there was an hour in a half wait. The place was empty! I said an order of fresh roles is all I want. He very rudely said it doesn't matter. I walked out of there pissed off for the second time. I think Moi is a hard worker and she cooks amazing Thai food. She needs to tell her cranky old husband to stay home. He's ruining her business. Whoa!! Curry soup has me dreaming about it! Just enough spice to give a kick, delicious hearty potatoes and veggies but plenty of soup. This will be my future go to if I come down with a cold... The prices are good for the quantity, the vegetables are fresh, the tofu is cut not too small but not left in giant hunks. Was just there for the first time. My friend had arrived before me and ordered food for both of us. When I arrived I saw a sign in the window that stated NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. Well, of course. The PUBLIC means any mope off the street. You can't let any mope or tweaker into your restaurant to use your restroom--and inject drugs or bathe in your sink or whatever. No argument. I told the guy on duty that I assumed he did have a restroom for CUSTOMERS--big difference from the general public: someone spending money in your establishment. He explained that they didn't and that I'd have to use the restroom at Holiday Market next door and began explaining accessing the back of the market navigating to their restroom. I waved him off rudely. This really irritated me as I've seen this business of conflating THE PUBLIC with PAYING CUSTOMERS before and it's dishonest. Any business owner knows the difference, and any who doesn't is too dumb to be in business. So Moi's Thai Cafe, post an honest, accurate sign: NO CUSTOMER RESTROOM. How many people are going to feel good patronizing an establishment that shows that little regard for their customers? Imagine trying to bring children or elderly family members for a meal there. If it's really a structural issue with the space, why would a business person lease a location so structurally flawed? Moi is a sweet human being and the food is pretty good. So, I talked my friend into going there for lunch yesterday. Unfortunately, Moi's husband (Tom) was in a foul mood and VERY rude to my friend who was buying us lunch. I've gone in there many times over these past years without issue and cannot fathom the depths of ugliness for lack of customer service he reached when my friend merely asked for a little taste of the sauce for the dish she was ordering and he bluntly replied NO! We paid for our meal and started walking to the table to wait but we were so totally turned-off by his attitude that we promptly canceled the order and went to the LWW clubhouse to eat instead; Janet sold us on the sweet beer and pretzel soup YUM! Not only did Tom force the loss of $35 in revenue by his actions, he lost future revenue from us as well. While visiting the area, we were delighted to find a little "diversity" in cuisine, as we were expecting only run-of-the-mill chain eateries and maybe some local American fare, which unfortunately isn't safe for all in our party (due to necessary medical dietary restrictions). We diligently followed helpful past yelp reviews, bracing ourselves for possible unpleasant interactions with a grumpy husband/phone/counter staff, but expecting delicious food. It was the high expectations for the food that probably caused our disappointment. Calling to order was easy and polite enough, and pick-up was smooth as well (not meaning to make assumptions, but it was a young guy who didn't look Thai ;)). So, we're thinking they listened to past yelp reviews and hired someone to answer phones and interact with customers, which probably was a good business move, as this seemed to be a main complaint in the past. Since we were driving in from out of town, we wanted to call to order ahead of time, and are thankful to other yelpers who snapped photos of the menus. As others mentioned, it is odd that there are no prices posted - even on the menu - so the total bill was a guessing game. Fortunately it seemed to come out about right, but still a bit confusing why the prices are a mystery. I feel bad giving Moi's just 3 stars since we love supporting small businesses, but the flavors/tastes were just "off" for us. We've eaten more than our share of Thai food over the decades because it fits our dietary needs - - plus we love the cuisine! The portions here were generous, but the flavors were disappointing. The Pad Thai wasn't as sweet as we are used to, and also had a strange tomato-like flavor which was odd (and actually, after looking through old reviews later, I saw someone else made a comment about tomatoes too). One kid who usually gobbles up Pad Thai, barely ate 1/5 and said no more - didn't want it. Even hubs didn't want to finish his separate order. The Pad Thai was also missing the usual fried tofu bits we're used to. Another kid ordered the Chow Mein (which I've never seen on a Thai restaurant menu (also noticed Orange Chicken on the menu??), but maybe Moi's branched out to include some Chinese American dishes due to local customer demand?). Not sure, but the Chow Mein did not have the typical Chinese chow mein taste either. It was just "meh." I also somewhat recently found a love for Pad Prik starting at one of our local Thai restaurants, so I was excited to try Moi's Pad Prik Khing. It was sooo overly salty, it overpowered any other flavors. It tasted completely different than other pad prik I've had in the past, the only similarity being some of the veggies used in the dish. One REALLY unusual thing in all the above dishes, was the texture of the chicken... some in our party thought it was inedible and barely choked down a few pieces. I'm familiar with the trick used in some Asian cooking to add baking soda to the chicken to tenderize it, but this is like it had been soaking in it for hours... it didn't even have a meat texture anymore. Some would give the chicken 0-1 star! The one "saving grace" dish we ordered was the Pineapple Fried Rice with tofu. Finally, a dish that had familiar and welcomed tastes and ingredients. I'd probably give the food 2 stars, but because the rest of the experience was smoother than expected, I thought 2 stars overall would be harsh. All in all, the interactions were fine and it's a great place to try if you're in the area & want to support a small local business, but I just wanted to warn those who are used to "typical" Thai cuisine and flavors that you may not find them here. Maybe the cook was having an "off" day (we only tried it once), but if not... perhaps lower those expectations, order dishes we didn't (such as one of the highly rated curries), and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

I love Thai so I thought I would give this a try. I had the drunken noodles, and it was only so so. This dish is usually spicy and mine wasn't at all. There was barely any flavor at all. The noodles in the dish where complete mush and the chicken tasted old. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the service was great, very quick and friendly.
