Fresh deliciously sweet oysters.

Some of the best sushi I can recall having in quite a long time. The service was attentive and everything came out quickly. We were seated next to a window that looks out to Commercial street which increased ambiance and was perfect. If you're looking for some of the best sushi Nevada City has to offer, look no further.

Food, service and ambiance were all very good. Kind of pricey, even for a sushi restaurant.

I want to call them a little hole-in-the-wall but there's nothing little about their space, which…read moreoccupies virtually the entire underground floor of one of Grass Valley's historic downtown buildings. It's huge, largely empty, and quiet, perfect for a contemplative experience with your food. At dinnertime on a Friday my nearest neighbors were twenty feet away kneeling at a Japanese-style low table. I got to vibe in the quiet background music and the distant Friday night sounds of downtown. I tried the pork ramen, which felt a bit Americanized (kale, corn, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, half a ramen egg, and spicy ground meat in what appears to be a vegetable broth), but had surprising heat build-up as I ate and a pleasant aftertaste. The real highlight was the tea service. I ordered some red chai, which was served with a small teapot to table-steep it in; a carafe of hot water; and a tea box to pour out the first wash into. The server walked me through the process and the tea was fantastic, with a marvelous spice balance. Next time I think I'll try the poke bowl the other reviewers have enjoyed. They've been open since December, though only at peak times - worth a look if you want something different.

Some things are just too good to last. Sadly this place is one of them…read more **LOCATION & DECOR** The decor hasn't changed--wooden floors, brick walls, high ceilings, and sparse seating. It's always been minimal yet warm, but something felt off this time and the one before. The usual calming video of California waves was missing, replaced with a blank wall and '50s oldies music that completely clashed with the vibe. It felt disconnected from what usually made this place so special. **FOOD & DRINK** Ramen: Severely under-seasoned and watery. What used to be a flavorful, hearty bowl now feels lackluster and uninspired. Wakame Salad: The portion was noticeably smaller--20-30% less than usual. Not what I've come to expect from this place. PRICE: $$ I've always been willing to pay premium pricing for the quality, atmosphere, and service, but this time, it just didn't deliver. **SWAG/AMENITIES** - Cozy and unique decor (still a plus) - Menu variety for tea and ramen lovers - Used to have a calming atmosphere (not this time) **STAFF & EXPERIENCE** This is where things really fell apart. The service was slow from the start--30 minutes for drinks, 40+ minutes for ramen. The servers were dry, unpersonable, and barely engaged with us. They didn't introduce themselves or try to make any connection. It's hard not to miss Jenna, who was always warm, kind, and inviting. She had a way of making the experience unforgettable, and maybe even made the food taste better! **FINAL THOUGHTS** Mantra Tea House used to be my favorite spot in town. I came here regularly, twice a month, and never thought I'd feel this let down. The food, service, and atmosphere have all taken a dive, and it's just not the same place I fell in love with. Sadly, I think this was my last visit.

I heated my left overs up last night.... and with a nice home made salad, it was quite a treat. There is parking in the back of the restaurant that is free. Should it be full there is a parking lot across the street that requires a license plate number and a credit/debit card and the fee is only $1 per hour. We had a really good meal here. We arrived on a Wednesday night around 4:45pm and were seated quickly. The loaded fries were really yummy. The cheese sauce was so good. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner here. We will be back if we are in the area again!

They have remodeled it inside and it is very nice. They are so trying to make a place that people want to gather at. I really wish our community would gather around them and go have some great food, and watch football with. Like fans. The price was extremely reasonable with the wine/beer included. Happy Mother's Day!!…read more Today for Mother's Day, we decided to celebrate with my neighbor and have the best sushi in town here at Jinme. Jinme is consistent. Delicious every single time... so tonight, we celebrated with my daughter. We sat right away and how gorgeous was it tonight!? Balloons, streamers, and Mother's Day table cloths. After a little bit, our server came over and we ordered sunomono and vegetable tempura. Their vegetable tempura was a mixture of the vegetables, in one. Like a birds nest. It came with 4 pieces and a dipping sauce. It was different, but very good. The sunomono (cucumber salad) was cut in half into thin slices without the seeds, and the dressing on it was delicate and went so good with the cucumbers. Quite a bit of time had passed and we were given some complimentary spring rolls to snack on. The sauce it came with was a little spicy & sweet. We ordered a Simba roll, Auburn City roll, 49ers Roll, the Ultimate Roll, and salmon sashimi. All looked fantastic! The sashimi came with miso (as an appetizer). We will ended up sharing everything with each other. I really like that baked salmon roll (Simba). It has a sweet mayo on top. The Salmon Sashimi is my favorite bc the salmon on top is made with high quality salmon belly. The freshness makes me crave this often. The 49ers roll was delicious. It was different from your regular sushi rolls with rice in the outside. it had an entire cucumber casing on the outside of it. The Auburn Roll has thick pieces of red rings and salmon throughout... what a dream... Lastly, we ordered moochi ice cream and deep fried strawberry ice cream... both were out of this world!! This was the first time I have ordered dessert here and it was phenomenal! Strawberry just gets me! Our service was great! The decorations were a cute touch, too. Jinme went above and beyond to make us feel special on Mother's Day!

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. The only small thing I would suggest is having more napkins at the table, since we were only given one per plate and ended up needing a few more during the meal. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. Overall, we had a great experience at Azayaka Japanese Fusion. The food was delicious, the service was warm, and we would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Service 0/5, Ambience 5/5, Food 4/5…read more We came on a Thursday evening around 5 pm on 6/4 and it wasn't busy. First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.
