If I could give this more stars I would! I visited on a Sunday afternoon and although it was busy, we didn't have to wait long at all. Our food also came very quickly! And let's talk about the food: it was easily some of the best, if not THE best Mexican food I've had. I got the enchiladas and got my toddler the quesadillas. My toddler DEVOURED his food and part of mine! But here's the part that really makes Mexicano Grill stand out: the people. My toddler made a mess of one of his toys and when our server came by (as she did many times through our visit-our cups and chips were never empty) she offered to take it to the kitchen to clean it off. Then when we were done with our meal, another employee came by and offered to take his portable tray to the kitchen and washed it off! Exceptional service, delicious food, and the kindest people. The menudo is delicious if you like drinking your menudo. I thought the first time was a fluke so I gave them another try. Again I got probably 10 small pieces of tripe and the rest of the $13 cup was all juice. And I believe that their tortillas are store bought, not homemade. Oh, they don't give you a full cup of menudo. They fill it about an inch and a half from the top. Not happy. Im still hungry. read more

this restaurant tried to charge me extra for the same order I had got the same day and they put up an argument after I showed them how much I paid earlier that day for the same order they had an attitude when I pointed it out then I go home and they made my order wrong I ask for flour tortillas and got corn I don't like corn! how hard is it to get two taco on flour with grilled onions and jalapeño! they taking order not solving the cure to cancer it is not hard at all and overall just very unhappy with them this has been my third time with them and probably the last! My friend suggested this restaurant based on location and a previous experience they had. The salsa was actually sauce, but it was good and the green sauce is what I preferred. The taco salad was delicious according to my friend. One of the kids and I shared the 3 quesadilla plate and it was nice that they allowed us to order two of them with steak and one with chicken, we liked it all. The other two kids were somewhat disappointed with their tacos that were literally a tortilla with meat. Our waitress and all the people we encountered were kind and helpful! This place is my go-to for my taco salad cravings! 90% of my experience with their food has been through Door Dash. Their ground beef taco salad has always been delectable. For starters, they nail a perfect ratio of meat and toppings, (look at those toppings - YUM!) all while presented beautifully in that delivery box. The flavors of the taco shell, the cheese and guac and pico, everything, has never disappointed. I appreciate how consistent they are with my favorite order! These guys were good 6-9 months ago... Now, they can't seem to get a delivery order right, unless it's an accident.. Three of the last five delivery orders have wrong/incomplete or otherwise jacked up. I had really liked them, but it will be a while before I even consider trying them again. The food was not good. The bacon was so over cooked it was hard, it wasn't burnt but it was very crunchy. My son ordered sausage patties and they were grey and had a funny taste. The beans tasted burnt and the tortillas were not homemade like they used to be. The waitress was nice. read more

Our first night in Waco Texas and of COURSE we had to stop of Mexican food! It is truly a staple and favorite in my household. My husband ordered the birria, I shared the mocajete with my mom, and my kids got the taco plates! We had a group of 11 with us and the waitstaff was very accommodating. However, we were veryyy squished with two tables fit for 8 people. So it made it a bit difficult to actually spread out. My dad ordered the tilapia fried and booooooy it was fantastic! Everyone else ordered the normal stuff, tacos, bacon wrapped shrimp plate, chicken tenders, etc. The birria was ok, husband said it was a 3 out of 5. Really great lunch specials. They are open for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. The salsas are good and the queso has a great taste. It is very flavorful and my wife liked that there were few chunks of tomato in the queso. I had on my first visit a combo platter that had an enchilada taco rice and beans. I added an additional enchilada for only a dollar. My wife liked her meal. I believe she had tacos al carbon. She enjoyed the rice and beans and she can be pretty picky when it comes to refried beans and rice. It was very good and a great value. I really enjoyed and we plan to return again sometime soon. I moved to this area from Houston and was always told that the Mexican food in and around the Waco area is no good, but I tried this place and honestly have to say that the TexMex back home PALES in comparison to the food at this restaurant. The best Mexican food in Hewitt! We visit there 2-3 times per month and the food and drinks are always fantastic. The staff is very friendly and efficient at getting the food out when its hot and ready. I see a bunch of so so reviews on here but my experiences and those of my family have always been 5 star. I have placed my order online for the green chicken chilaquiles on different occasions and I always get no chicken.

The management is unreasonable and won't talk to customers. We dined in tonight and tried to use a voucher we bought in early March 2020 and they would not honor it. However, the voucher states that the value paid is valid even after the expiration date of June 4. The manager would not talk to my husband even though he asked to speak to her since the wait staff is not responsible for this type of issue nor should they be! The manager should have honored the value of what we paid,$10, which we requested as they were closed from Mid-March to mid-May due to COVID. The voucher was for $20 and understandably we didn't ask them to honor that amount since it was expired but rather the $10 that we paid for it. The voucher also states FOR DINE IN ONLY, which we could not do for most of the time that the full value was valid. Additionally, we chose not to dine out at most restaurants until we felt comfortable with the social distancing guidelines at eateries. We finally decided to give Mexicano Grille a try as we heard they were following social distancing guidelines inside. We will not eat here again! Poor customer service/management. read more

I typically love this place to pieces. The bartender, Chris, makes this place. Today I came for my usual drink and wanted to try the tortilla soup for first time. My drink is a frozen with a Chambord floater but lately I've been doing half Chambord and half Disaronno because, together, they are bomb. Well, the antisocial owner (wife) is behind the bar and she told the waitress I couldn't do that. She never acknowledged me or even gave a customer service smile when I sat down. Her face was stern and her body language was overall rude. I'm a REGULAR here and the reason they even started buying Chambord. I always asked Chris about it and one day he surprised me with it. This lady needs to stick to doing paper work and managing where it matters cause she's giving the bar and restaurant a bad name. Betzy is taking care of be today and is the sweetest. This is the only reason I'm staying. I also got a shot of Disaronno on the side to make my own creation. I'm being charged more for it but I like what I like and money is never the issue. Visited on a Saturday at 130. Probably 4-5 people working the floor. One party of 8 and maybe 4 other small tables. We were seated and waited about 5 minutes for a waiter. He takes our drink and queso order. Drinks come out and he takes our order. Our queso doesn't arrive. Waiter finally comes to check on us and brings the queso 15 minutes later. He asks if we are ready to order?!?! Umm, you took our order! (Maybe it was so long he forgot). Verified order (had it wrong), and says it will be right out. We wait. Another 10 minutes or so. Verified order again. Food finally arrives, and one plate is wrong. Reluctantly, we send it back. 10 minutes, and finally correct. We've visited this location probably a dozen times. This is normally a favorite place for me but that changed this morning. A couple of my friends and I went for breakfast. We were greeted with our waiter who does not speak English. We did our best to place our order but he didn't understand us. The hostess came to help and we told her what we wanted as she translated to him. Our order was placed and after some time mine comes out wrong and cold. Probably had sat there long enough that they had to get it out. My friends continued to wait as I tried to eat mine. Finally after I had finished mine they got theirs and it was wrong as well. I feel like I was disrespected by them and feel like they set him up to fail as well. When I called the manager they told me that they were trying to train him. No respect for me as a customer and no respect for their employee!
