Truly disappointing!!! It's the same Car salesman shenanigans. I was so looking forward to the Subaru Experience. I recently helped an older family member purchase a 2017 Certified Pre-owned Forester from Metro West after we have heard great ravings about Subaru and their treatment towards customers. The overall "experience" was not the Family, Pet, Love feeling they advertise. We felt rushed, up sold on warranty and incredibly under valued the KBB value on our trade in. We asked for a few things like touch up paint and a cheap plastic bumper cover to cover up the paint chips and nicks on the bumper. We were told we could buy at parts dept. Wow! and the left fog light was broken and inside not 100% cleaned. Which makes me wonder if they even did the 152 point inspection they claim they did. $28K later on a used car and the service was bad. I won't be going back to buy my Forester there, which I was planning to buy this month. Doesn't make me want a Subaru. Period. Do what you want--but look at other dealers before going here. read more

I went to look at a 2018 WRX with 32k miles, car was completr junk, no coolant, scratches, dents and paint chips found all around, rust begining to form under the quarter panel, the arm rest was broken. And the cream on top, the sales men went in and started laughing about it. read more

I had the most wonderful experience here with an associate by the name of Matt. When I got there, he greeted me and showed me the car that I had earlier inquired about. He was incredibly informative about the vehicle and gave me a 360 presentation about the car. I felt that I was treated with the most respect and courtesy throughout my experience and the team was incredibly well versed about their vehicle. The very next day the Sales Manager called me to ensure that I had a great experience at the dealership. What a fantastic way of doing business. Zero stars if I could. Everyone is so condescending and rude and could care less about you. They will pay you zero attention unless you're there to fill their pockets with a sale. Everyone is your stereotypical dealer who just sees you as a commission and nothing else. Dealer contacted me wanting to buy my car off from me. They scheduled a time for me to come in, as I was receiving quotes for how much my car is worth, as I bought a new car from a different dealership. I went to see if they would give me a better offer than my current trade in. The person asked what I was looking to buy from my trade in and I informed him I had already purchased a vehicle from Tesla up the road. He didn't comment on that and took me to meet the trade in "specialist". I don't know why the people at the dealership did not take me seriously, maybe because of my age. Still no excuse to give me zero respect. I had indicated online about having an aftermarket exhaust on my car, and stated exactly what was modified. Also stated that I had all factory products, but that's beside the point. The person who was supposed to check out my car did not even greet me and asked me if my car was stock. I obviously told him no, as is what I stated online prior to coming in person. The dealership knew everything and still chose to waste my time by asking me to come in. The "manager", Travis, then said "we'll pass" and walks away. No other words exchanged and just ignored me. No "sorry, we can't take it" or "sorry you had to come in, but we can't take modified parts". I completely understand if it's a policy, but there's a respectful way to go about it, and no one at this dealership had the slightest idea what respect was. I have worked with BMW, Maserati, Ferrari, and countless other high end brands, which can be seen as pretentious, and NONE of them have ever treated me with such lack of respect and human decency. Im not desperate to get rid of my car, and it was degrading to be treated like that. Avoid this place unless you want to be treated like garbage. They do not care about you unless you're there to give them money. An absolute joke of a business. read more

Purchased my 2017 Subaru Crosstrek from here May 2017. My check engine light and the traction light went on friday 9/22 and so I brought my car in yesterday 9/23 for checkup. They told me that the reason might be when you "overfill" your gas tank..... which just sound ridiculous! So they had to clean the hose... Well 2 hours later check engine light went on again!!!!!!!!!!! First off, I purchased a brand new car to avoid inconvenience and headaches like this. I work Monday- Friday and so this is not something I wanted to do on my day off!!! Now I have to bring my car in next Saturday (different Subaru) and hopefully this time they actually take the time to take care of their customers! Especially when you just spent $25k on a brand new car!! Check engine light shouldn't even be going on. It hasn't even hit 6k miles..... read more

I just purchased my first Subaru (Outback) from Metrowest, and could not be happier. My decision to purchase a Subaru was made long before deciding on a dealer to work with. With that being the first step, I was then left with the decision of where to buy the car. This was a very involved process, as there are several options in the area. My approach was to visit a dealer, get a sense of what they were looking for, and see if if matched what I was looking for (which by the way was a good deal and a long-term relationship). What I got from almost all of the not to be named dealers was an attempt to size me up to see how deep my wallet was, a prejudgment of how I could help them meet their quota for the month, and focus only on a quick, one time sale. No thank you! What I got with Metrowest, and more specifically Jeff Ricard, was the following. Jeff allowed me to spend time getting to know him, and what he and Metrowest stood for. At no time did he ask how much I had to spend, or try to push me into an immediate sale. At the end of our conversation, we shook hands, and left it at that. I got the information that I needed, and didn't feel pressured. Sign me up! From there, the negotiation was handled very fairly and was also very transparent. The end result was that I am in a great car, and have linked up with a dealership that I will work with for a very long time. I leased a 2010 Subaru Forester from this dealer and was very pleased with the process. I told the salesman exactly what I was looking for and he came through with everything I asked for! He answered all my questions and handled the paperwork professionally and without any glitches. I would have gone back to this dealer when my lease expired in a heartbeat but at that time my husband and I pared down to a one car family, and he was only a year into his lease so we had to go with his car. Took my car there for a 60,000 mile tuneup. I also had a blown headlight bulb. When I got home, I discovered the headlight was still out. Called a couple times to bring it back, and they never returned my call. A month later, I got a warning light on my rear differential fluid. Took it someplace else and they also said my other fluids -- coolant, brake fluid -- hadn't been properly flushed. Complained through my credit card company and finally got a call back. The service manager claimed they had changed the passenger headlight bulb -- it's just a coincidence that the driver's side blew on the way home. Also claimed other fluids were properly changed. You can go there if you want this kind of service. read more

This one goes out to Dan, the Service Manager. I had a strange rattle at one of my wheels. I showed up without an appointment, but after only a few minutes Dan was able to road test the car with me and confirm the noise. He quickly put my car up on a lift and discovered that a small rock was caught in the control arm. With some creativity, he was able to retrieve the rock and solve the problem--and didn't charge me a dime! His regard for me during the whole experience was nothing but kind and professional. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!**!**!**! I took my car to these guys back in May to get 2 things done - an oil change and I wanted them to look at my engine as it was making a minor ticking noise when I accelerated. They did the oil change and recommended a new short block (part of the engine) at a cost of $4,500 to stop the ticking noise. I wasn't in the financial position to do that on the spot so said I'd have to come back at a later time. Funny part was, after I picked it up, the ticking had gone away (due to them filling it up with oil). Good thing I didn't have them replace the short block, because I got home and did a little research only to find out there was a class action lawsuit against Subaru for rapid oil consumption due to the short block and that the warranty of my vehicle's engine was extended to 100,000 miles (I was at 89,000). THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW BEFORE YOU RECOMMENDED A $4,500 REPAIR!!! Anyways, long story short - I took it to it to another dealer, started the procedure to get the engine covered by warranty and a few months later had the short block replaced FREE because my engine was burring oil at a rapid rate and fell under the warranty. It blows my mind there was no mention of this when i took it to MetroWest. I also had an issue with them back in December 2016 with the Takata airbag recall. I had set up an appointment with them during the busy Holiday time to get the airbag recall taken care of. Because this place schedules service appointments week out in advance, I had the appointment set for 3 weeks. Well, a couple days before the appointment, they called me up and said: "we are out of the parts to do that recall". Thats literally all he said. I was like "OK....... will you call me back once you get the parts and we can schedule the replacement?". He said "sure" just to get me off his back. 9 months later still no phone call back from them on this. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE - YOU GUYS REALLY CARE ABOUT MY SAFTEY (NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)! Please save yourself time, money, and frustration. Avoid this place!!! These guys care very little about you as a customer. All they care about is money. Subaru North America should actually dig a little closer here because I have a hunch there is something going on with this place and warranties - perhaps charging customers for the service and then going around and double billing it as a warranty claim against Suburb. I can't think of another reason why a dealer would choose not to tell the consumer about a warranty for a part they are having an issue with......actually, a second reason could be their incompetence. The manager here (not sure of his /her name) is definitely trying to pull fast ones on customers. During the initial diagnostic follow up phone call, I could tell that the kid, Christopher, was being directed to say specific things to me by the manager. I would ask a simple probing question - like "is my car safe enough to drive right now?", he would say "hold on, let me ask my manager." He must have consulted 3 times with the manager during that phone call every time I asked a question about the services they were asking to perform on my car. After I found out about the warranty, I called back to ask them about the process of qualifying for it and I was told "well, the manager has to approve that". ITS A WARRANTY - WHAT IS THERE TO APPROVE? All roads lead back to the manager here - I'M ON TO YOU, YOU SHADY M.F.!!! I am the type of person who will pay more to get my car serviced at a dealer because they often times can more accurately pin point problems and tell me if the problem I may be having is covered by a warranty. Shouldn't I expect that of any dealer??? I have been looking now for the past 3 years for a reputable Subaru dealer here in MA (literally have tried them all) and FINALLY FOUND ONE!!! If you are looking for a Subaru dealer to take your car to - take the drive to Patriot Subaru in North Attleboro. I can not say enough about how helpful these guys were. They had my best interest at heart and were so pleasant and easy to deal with. I'll be driving 45 mins out of my way to them from now on. Trust me, its worth it!!! read more

Made an appointment to get my car checked out one evening after a body shop noted a potential manufactures defect. The issue was described in detail when appointment was made (weeks ago) and a one hour slot was reserved. Once there was told they didn't have time to check it tonight. What's the point of making an appointment? And driving all the way there? The guy (who's apparently the manager of the service department) finally agreed that if a left it there overnight he would look at it in the morning. It was like pulling teeth just to get that. When I told them I would need a loaner car he grabbed a key off the rack and chucked it toward his associate in a huff, telling him to take care of it. It's like I owed them something for coming in for service. This after spending tens of thousands of dollars to buy a car from them. Would recommend avoiding this place. read more

My son and I made it very clear we were at Metrowest Subaru in Natick to buy a 2015 Crosstrek and needed it on the same day. We were assured they could make that happen. After test driving a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek, negotiating a fair price and shaking hands on the deal, the business manager notified us that they did not have the title to the vehicle and we would have to wait anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. He was so casual about it, like it was no big deal and walked away - but it was a big deal to us. We were left sitting there by ourselves and eventually walked out. Two hours of our time wasted. How could they sell us on a car when they didn't even have the title? Bad business practice and absolutely no consideration for how let down we felt. read more

I headed to Metrowest Subaru 4 months ago after a horrendous experience at another Subaru dealership (Quirk Subaru is like hell on Earth). I had my heart set on a certified used crosstrek they posted on their website. I set up an appointment to check out the car and was lucky enough to have Jeff as the salesman. Jeff is the man. I was visibly worried when I got there and a couple was looking at the car I wanted very intently. Jeff could have used this to his advantage to push me into paying top dollar, but he was straight up and said they weren't interested in a used one so I have nothing to worry about. Cool stuff. The rest of the process was a breeze. I told them exactly what I wanted for my trade-in, what I was willing to pay, and the interest rate I needed. Done. They made it happen. The only annoying thing was having to wait until the next day to do the paperwork since the finance guys were out, and then having to wait several hours when I did get there that following day. But eventually, I was in my beautiful ride and on the road. The service department -- Todd in particular -- was great the one time I have had to bring it in so far (nail in the tire), and hopefully it stays that way. Couldn't love my Subaru any more, and if you are getting a Sub these guys are the place to go. read more

I've been a customer of Metrowest Subaru since 2001, both the service and the sales department. Everyone knows it's more expensive to service your car at a dealer, but I've always appreciated the quality of the service so it's worth the added cost to me. For nearly twenty years, I've always been able to speak to a person at the Natick office when needing to schedule an appointment. I recently discovered that this is no longer possible. I'm trying to make an appointment to bring in our car due to an unexpected time sensitive issue that just arose with my vehicle. I now get connected to a central call center. The person tells me that they will send an email to "someone" who will then contact me to schedule service. I made the call yesterday, and I still haven't heard back from "someone" about scheduling an appointment for my car service. This new process is as far from customer-oriented as it can get. I should be able to call the service department and talk to a person located in the Natick service department for scheduling a service. This is the first time in nearly twenty years that I feel that I am going to need to find a new place to service my car. It also has me wondering if I should purchase a Subaru again. read more

Twice I have had my car serviced there and had to bring it back the same night, once because of major electrical issues (that didn't exist when I brought the car in). read more

Overall a good experience at Metrowest Subaru November 2020. Helped my parents purchase an Ascent after trading in their 15 year old Highlander. Our salesman was Josh Geller and he was responsive but not aggressive/pushing. We communicated via email and phone call. The only time they came in to the dealership was to sign papers. The next day, Josh delivered the new vehicle and took the trade in back to Natick. My parents are pleased with their new Ascent! read more

Bought my car here a few years ago and got a mailer to come in this past weekend to get a "better than normal trade in" that sounded streamlined. My wife and I were interested and, going by the numbers on the mailer were willing to come in and buy on the spot. We were told 15-20 minutes when we checked in, not unreasonable....then "just a few more minutes" over and over again...finally was seen after an hour. I had emailed the day before asking for the price of a new forester on their lot and liked the price. Even told the guy when we checked in that we already have the price and just want to make sure they're being honest about the trade-in. Well.....after having us wait around, at this point now we're closer to 90 minutes, they offered us $1800 less than CitySide in Belmont. Again, this was supposed to be a better than normal trade-in price day, but it was nearly 2k under a competitors offer. They were very inefficient and rude to people who had appointments set up that didn't want to wait over an hour their response: "then you should go..." My response: Don't take appointments if you can't even come close to meeting them. When we bought the car we liked the salesperson well enough, but were dicked around a bunch and the dealership. This just helped to remind me why I told myself I'd buy my next Subaru through Cityside. read more

I only gave this place 5 stars because of Nicholas and Robert who helped me out almost 9 months after I bought my 2018 WRX. During the buying process I was OVERSOLD on services that I realized after actually buying them. First is the Simoniz glasscoat which cost $695 and is complete waste of money. If you really want to add protection to your paint just go and get ceramic coating at a reputable detailing shop near you and don't waste your money at the dealer. Second is the tire protection plan which I needed to use after hitting a pothole and there was much confusion because their call center is in Texas. I was extremely frustrated and emailed Nicholas who was the first person I interacted with when I was in the market to buy a Subaru wrx. Nick immediately went and talked to whoever and had my issue resolved in matter of 2 hours. After my tire was fixed Robert from finance reached out to me and told me that bunch of people in my buying process were no longer there because of overselling products or services. Bot of these guys cleared up confusion at time of frustration. If I was buying my car again I would only get the weather tech mats and leave everything else. read more

Every time (5) I go there, I check to make sure that they have the right phone number in the system (they don't) and then I watched them correct it. Every time, they call my son at college when the car is ready. When I tell them about their error, they look at me blankly. I will not return. read more

We recently purchased a used Honda Fit at Metro West Subaru. We had a great experience with Ron Wynn and everything went very smoothly. We had seen the car on the website so we knew the price, milage and condition. Ron was very pleasant and helpful during the whole experience. We had a previous engagement so I went back a few days later to purchase the car. It took a couple of hours to do the paperwork (which is always tedious when buying a car, no matter what dealer) and then came back to pick up the car two days later. It seems like most of the negative reviews on Yelp tend to be with the service department. I only dealt with the salesmen so I can't comment on those reviews. I will say that our initial visit was on a Saturday and they were very busy. We were able to walk around the lot to look at the cars before we finally went inside to talk to a salesman. We were approached almost immediately when we did go inside. My recommendation would be for anyone that is in a hurry, not to go on a Saturday or another time that you know will be busy. I would definitely recommend this dealership to buy a car. read more

My mother went to shop for a new car here and like another reviewer was met with sexism and ageism. In this case, it was because she's a bit older. It is incredibly upsetting that people think they can try to strong arm older women into buying the most expensive model full of things they don't need. Acting as if she didn't know what she was talking about. My mother knows her stuff! She was completely written off. The man working with her didn't listen to what she was saying and just tried to sell her one car she wasn't interested in at all. Let me preface this by saying I am actually LOOKING to be sold on a car at the moment. I am legitimately a car saleman's dream consumer right now. Upon entry to the dealership that is in pretty mediocre condition IMO, I had to work hard to get ANYONE's attention. Once we managed to wave one of the sales people over, the conversation was like pulling teeth. I wished to understand the differences between pricing, performance, and comfort between several models and wished to test drive one or two to help with the car buying experience. No valuable knowledge was offered; no help provided, and the guy didn't even try to SHOW US ANY CARS. I asked how I was supposed to buy a car from this dealership if I couldn't drive one of the cars and was met with a blank stare. The incompetence of this salesperson was laughable (literally left the dealership laughing with my dad and buddy). I am borderline not even considering Subaru anymore because of this experience. It was a painfully awkward and useless waste of time. Why would I consider giving them $35k? I wouldn't. Not sure- Maybe their sales people are trained to sell the least amount of cars possible, that's the only explanation I can come up with. Infuriating. read more

My sales rep was Sharon Mathew and I really liked working with him. He was very professional, knowledgeable, answered all our questions without putting on all that pressure of your average car buying experience. He listened to me while I was explaining exactly what I was liking for, then brought a couple of different models for me to test drive so I can compare and make sure that I pick the car that is right for me! Even though the experience with some other staff members might have not been as pleasant, Sharon really made my day and made everything better-- I left with the car that I enjoy driving! The best thing I can say about my experience is that it was unpleasant, particularly the salesperson I worked with. At various times he was rude or abrasive. I suspect it was an act - being a jerk as a way to negotiate a tough price - but it was unnecessary: I wasn't looking to fight for every dollar. A couple of days later I went to another Subaru dealer in town and bought a car. The salesperson was honest and mild mannered. Went car shopping 2 months ago looking to buy a used 2015 Legacy. The Legacy was on my short list or cars for around $25,000. Found a possible one and took it for a test drive. Nice car but a little over my budget. But when it came down to talking price, the salesman flat out said there was no room for negotiation.The cars are priced competitively and the price listed was what the car was selling for. Okay, I'm good with that, so after he stated that, we sat there in complete silence looking at each other for about a minute. So, I thanked him for his time and left. He didn't seem like he wanted to work with me on finding another car or what type of car I may be interested in. The salesman was polite and wasn't rude or anything like that, but more along the lines of a "These cars sell well enough by themselves, so if you don't like it, move on" attitude. Maybe true, but like the slogan says "It's a Subaru". This is the second time I've been to this dealership it the past six years and both times I've come away with a unpleasant experience. read more
