Warning: Dishonesty and Deception - Avoid this Dealer! In 2022, this dealership charged me over $230 to clean clogged sunroof drains on my Macan S after water leaked into the cabin -- claiming it was "routine maintenance," even though the vehicle was under CPO warranty. A late 2024/2025 class action settlement has since confirmed this is a known defect, not a maintenance issue. The settlement extends warranty coverage and mandates one (1) free sunroof drain cleaning per year for ten (10) years from the date the vehicle was first placed in service -- clearly acknowledging Porsche's responsibility. When I followed up recently, Service Manager John Eric was dismissive and either unaware -- or indifferent -- to the court-ordered terms. Even worse, I emailed General Manager John Andrade and received no response. When you're guilty of deceiving customers, I suppose silence is easier than accountability. Brought my car in for service not too long ago, encountered multiple issues. My advisor was Alysa. First off, when I was picking up she was with another customer so I had to wait for 20min, not a big deal. But what is concerning was the smell of cannabis I got when speaking with her. She couldn't answer some of my questions and the interaction felt somewhat short and dismissive. I wanted to just inform the manager and to my surprise there is ANOTHER new manager making the third in less than a year. I tried to find my sales person who my husband and I have bought multiple cars from and always helped with any of our issues and turns out he is no longer there either. I asked to speak with a technician, Michael who always helps explain some of my car concerns and also he is no.longer there. Not sure why there is so much employee turn around especially with staff that were always spectacular. My previous advisor was Michael H and the manager Aya was truly amazing, neither of which are there anymore either. Before that we were going through David. Recently I came to find out that the "sunroof drain cleaning" that I paid for is covered under some kind of extended warranty that the advisor is supposed to check. I tried calling a few times to speak with my advisor and received no answer at all. I drove from Boston to Natick as my husband and I have always been customers but finding out many employees whom we had a relationship with are no longer there coupled with my most recent visit we won't be returning. When I drop off my car for a recall and an oil change, I was texted with an extensive 4 years interval service recommendation. The price tag was over $6k, so I declined the service in their link. Text them everyday, they claimed the car was being worked on. After 3 days, I insisted to have my car back. To my surprise, I was told that they were finishing my repair work and was working on the recall at that moment. I said I did not approve any repair work other than the recall and oil change. But, I was told that their computer indicated that I had approved the additional work. They had already replaced all my 4 tires and transmission oil change, tune up etc. They expected me to pay for their service. I felt helpless. This is a total scam. I will never go to any Herb Chamber ever. read more

This dealership does not want to sell cars, I went in to purchase a car and I only asked for $1000.00 off the price because there was defect in the front bumper they did not want to fix, which they declined which is fine. The issues is an hour later they raised the price by $2000.00 and then the next morning called me and said since they have a lot of interest in the car they raised the price, but would honor the price they gave me yesterday. I've had a very positive buying and service experience at Herb Chambers Porsche in Boston. McKenzie Butler helped me get the Taycan I wanted, quickly, at a fair price. She even dropped the car off at my work and invited me to a free event at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway where I got to drive several new models on track (the 911 was fantastic). Since acquiring the car I've had a few mechanical issues that needed to be sorted out (recalls and one AC sensor) but that was made easy by a very smooth experience with the service department. Elizabeth M. the office manager, I didn't expect anyone from Herb Chambers Porsche to pay the locksmith bill. Joseph was sitting on his behind not doing anything to resolve the situation, and he asked me very nastily what did I want him to do about it. I told him he could pay the locksmith bill. When I said that he immediately started saying he could look at all the many cameras in the building. I had to tell him he only needed to look at the one where I was standing when I handed my keys off. He didn't even think to ask me for my name or the time or day I came in. He was just going through the motions. Once I commented that he needed that information THEN he started looking. He tried to push me out the door with comments that it would take him time to look, and he would get back to me. First off he never ever called me or got back to me. He never followed up or said anything about the locksmith. I would have told him then I can afford to pay a locksmith. I stayed in Boston overnight hoping that my key would be found, but I knew if your employees are low enough to steal it I shouldn't hold my breath to get it back. What needs to be said about the situation was how Joseph spoke to me, how he tried to put the blame on me, and how he mischaracterized me as crazy. It would have helped if he could have zoomed in on my keys and taken a picture of my keys and emailed that to me since I'm making such a "strong accusation." Going forward I hope my review will help other customers know that handing their key chain off to Herb Chambers isn't even safe. Strip the inside of your cars bare before taking it in to be serviced. Also, Elizabeth it helps to give the correct phone number to where you are actually located and your correct title. Herb Chambers is the business owner. It is not necessary to respond. Herb Chambers Porsche did nothing and couldn't even be bothered to apologize for their employees nasty behavior. An apology from Joseph would have gone a long way, heck a follow up call would have gone a long way. It's ok though because you do have dishonest and nasty acting employees working at the dealership and one day Joseph won't be able to rudely dismiss it. read more

I was promptly shuffled out of your dealership today, with the "do you have an appointment? You need to make one if you want to be here" bit. Being careful to leave your car with them, you may receive a "surprise" bill. After reading other customers' reviews, I'm sharing our experience here. Our glass was damaged, we drove our car here to get quote and estimation of repairing it. Davit Petrosyan asked us to leave the car with them because they would need time to "take a look". A few days later, we were told that it took 4 weeks to replace the glass which was not reasonable (Another Porsche dealer told us they could have it done in a week). So we asked to take our car back, but the service center refused to release our car because they had already tolled our car to a different location. Unless we paid the toll fee they won't give our car back. We don't understand why they think it was ok to toll our car without confirming with us, so basically, we had to either repairing it with them or paying the toll fee (our insurance agent told us the toll fee they charged was way higher than average ). Maybe that's the way they do business but we just don't appreciate it. Also, their attitude to treat us was a huge difference before and after we bought the car. After we dropped our car there, a nice mechanic told us we were eligible to get a ride back home, so we asked Davit Petrosyan if it was possible to get a Uber for us. Probably one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had. Was between 2 SLIGHTLY used vehicles at the dealer - BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE350. Both had equal miles on it approx 8K and were about the same price. I went with the Mercedes because it was more "luxury" than the BMW according to the salesperson. I asked the salesperson ( in front of my wife for confirmation) that they had the same features such as each other including the Auto shut off at a stop, LED xenon style headlights, backup sensors etc. When I bought the car and started to spend time in it after a day the Mercedes had NONE of those features but the BMW did. I also noticed that the car was missing the floor mat and they would look for it and call me back when they found it ( which they never did ). I called and told them that I wasn't happy that I went with the car after I was told it had all of those features when it didn't. They moved me to the manager Sam and he said he would take care of the lights and the sensors for the backup camera and would have me come in 1 week to have them do the work. I never heard back and called 3 times to make sure they were on it, they said it would take a few weeks to order the parts etc. I bought the car exactly 1 month ago to the day and JUST got the lights and sensors installed, new floor mats. While driving home I realized that I had an error light saying that one of my lights was out. So not only did they not install Mercedes products but they outsourced it to a local company ( fine) who installed it improperly. Now I have to go back AGAIN to have my lights fixed and have to wait at the third party company while they do work. ALL this could have been resolved if they knew the product they were selling to me. I should never have to go through all this when buying a 45K car. I get that they are a Porsche dealership but they are selling a car they need to know what they are selling regardless of the type ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. When I called the dealer to tell them I was extremely disapointed from the very start of buying the car all he said was basically " OK I'm sorry". VERY unhappy. I would rather buy a car from California than buy it from this dealership again. I wish I went with the BMW. read more

I took my car for what ended up being a $5k repair, they did some damage to my back bumper and couldn't care less to fix it. They said I already had it (I didn't), and gave me long long stories and wanted pictures (that I sent) and then ignored me. The guy who I spoke on the phone with patronized me and told me that sometimes people "never look at the right side of their car" (hey buddy, it was the back bumper) and that people sometimes "are not good drivers and think someone else did it"... and that they don't punish their employees for damaging cars. I didn't ignore my $5k bill, right? Nope, paid for it no problem. I wish they really at least tried because they represent a brand (Porsche) and I certainly will not ever take my car there again. Unfortunately, when I had picked up the car, Joe wasn't around to make sure the handoff went smoothly. He was great today, investigating what happened, and explaining why these things happened. Can't say the same about some of the other service personnel I've dealt with. As long as Joe's there, I will continue to do business with Herb Chambers, otherwise, go elsewhere. Not at all happy with the service department.... I booked in to drop of my car for service and for some reason I was a bit late for the original time I booked in for. What ended happening was that they told me to come after a week because I needed the courtesy vehicle as I commute daily for work. So I went after a week and the courtesy car was more like a torture. The car was stinking from inside, all kinds of stains in the car and a lot of snow salt on the carpet. My cousin gets better service from his Toyota dealership. read more

One of the, if not the, single worst Porsche dealerships in the state. I came here some time ago to place an order for a new 911. After placing a stack of quarters in the meter, I got up to the showroom floor, which was deserted to say the least. The receptionist, after returning to her desk, actually had to call a sales person to come into the showroom, as none were present. After a good 20 minute wait, I finally got to talk to someone. The sales rep was nice enough, walked me through a couple of the options, which she obviously didn't know as well as she should have. Went on a decent test drive, 15 minutes or so in length. Porsche only gives a dealer so many order slots for each type of car, and most of the dealers hand them out very early in the year, so I was excited (and slightly suspicious) to hear that Chambers had a free one open. We talked numbers, and I told them I would get back to them in the next day. I called back as promised, check in hand to place the order. We had initially discussed a $5k deposit before they would place the order for me (a customary practice, although most dealers only ask $1k). She informed me that the deposit would actually be $55k before they could proceed. Needless to say, I was flabbergasted. Keep in mind, this isn't a $55k down payment on a car I get to drive away that day, they wanted almost half the price of the car simply to place the order with Porsche, for which I would wait several months before it got completed. I chatted with the general manager of the dealership, and after a long debate, he said he was willing to go down to $35k, still a far cry from the original number discussed. I took my business elsewhere, and couldn't have been happier. Perhaps their service department is better, but there are far better dealerships to visit than this one. read more

Whenever we take our car to Herb Chambers, they happily take our money, but are never able to replicate the problem. They seem to think that's okay because they pass out green apples like a car doctor in their fancy white lab coats. They have no right to think that they're doctors, they're just garden-vareity quacks and should be passing out lemons for the kind of rotten service they provide. Do not take your car here! For years, the service at Herb Chambers has been so consistently bad that I feel I must write a Yelp review to warn people to take their business elsewhere. Taking my Cayenne to Herb Chambers has been a matter of convenience because I live close by to Herb Chambers. Even though it took them three visits over three years to fix my rear seat belt, I was not peeved with them since it was under warranty. Now that my car is off warranty, I am started to realize that I am not getting what I am paying for: 1) They are the most expensive (about 10% higher rate per hour) service provider in New England and perhaps the country. I have a feeling they charge in increments of 30 or may be 60 minutes. For instance, they quoted $250 to replace a light bulb when the parts cost $135 on Amazon and it takes less than 15 minutes to replace it. 2) Their technicians cannot seem to find the problems even a mere mortal like me can detect. I have been hearing an odd noise coming from the engine on the passenger side and when I took it to them, they keep claiming that they cannot reproduce it. Of course, that too after I paid them $650 for the 50K service. This is not that first time that they claimed they could not reproduce the problem: they haven't been able to reproduce critical issues such as check engine light warnings. 3) Even the work they do does not meet the basic standards. I had my brakes replaced by them about 6 months ago for a whopping $2200. A month after I had them replaced, they started making a squealing noise. When I took it back to them there answer was that all brakes make that noise. Now when was the last time your new car made a squealing noise when you braked at an intersection?!? After this last experience, I have decided to look for a repair shop who is not a dealer. If you have any suggestions please, please let me know. read more

This is a review of BUYING, LEASING and SERVICE at Herb Chambers Porsche. 1. Buying. I bought a Cayenne S in 2012, all cash, got 10% off MSRP, smooth transaction. I checked around, Herb Chambers has the most slots from Porsche in the Boston area, we were able to order the exact car we wanted and received it in 3 months, pretty standard. 2. Lease. I leased a Panamera 4 in 2012, negotiated price to 9% off MSRP. No cash down, smooth transaction, happy with the deal. When term was up I looked at Tesla, MB, Jag. I still like P4 so came in to see what they had. Negotiated a new 2015 to 10% off MSRP. Everything done same week, but the tires were summer and not all season, which is what I wanted. Worked with Ian Miller on the deal, he solved a few curve balls and was great to work with. 3. Service. I worked with Davit and Joe, both very responsive. Pricey but 10% discount if you just ask. Had the standard maintenance, installed trailer hitch on Cayenne, etc. I always get loaners, just have to call and reserve ahead. They also always offer a driver to take me to work, pick me up from work or my home. I usually drop off the car when I know I will be out of town, they have no problem holding it until I get back in town. They also offer to deliver cars to my house. So service is pretty good. Verdict. Having done deals with various dealerships (BMW, Porsche, MB, VW), you have to know how things work and set your expectations accordingly. If you don't know anything about cars, you will likely not get as good deals, so you have to do your homework. If you go in thinking that you are the authority and can't see both sides of the deal, you'll be unhappy; probably explains some of the polarizing reviews here. This dealership gets the volume so you can find the cars you need, and get perks of drivers, deliveries, loaners, etc. Not perfect, but pretty good deals and service overall. read more

I have purchased 25 vehicles in the past 10 years . some for work others for pleasure . I recently bought a used car here (80k) and things seemed to be going well until i picked it up. There was a crack in the windshield and only one key . It was late and I live over an hour from the dealership so I went home . I reached out the next day to my sales person and the manager and was told to just use my insurance for the glass and he would look into getting me a spare . 2 months later and nothing . It is unfortunate that I noticed some negative reviews on this dealer but if you are in the market for one of these vehicles, you should stop by and give them an opportunity to earn your business. In the last few months they have undergone a change in management, there is a new GM in place and I'm sure that he and the staff will continue to earn five star ratings from here on out. The experience was really as good as it gets, so much so, that this was the second vehicle I purchase from HC Porsche of Boston in the last 4 months. I had always been interested in Porsche, but until this year, never owned one. I purchased the Cayenne diesel and can't say enough about this vehicle, gas mileage alone was worth the purchase. The biggest reason I chose this vehicle was the way the vehicle drives and handles, compared to the other vehicles I test drove, there is no comparison. I still enjoy driving and this SUV handles more like a Porsche or german sedan than an overweight typical SUV. My salesperson was Larry Bakke, he assisted with both purchases and was extremely helpful during both purchasing experiences, as were Ian Miller (new GM), and Shawni (finance). He was very accommodating to my requests and his attention to details of the vehicle purchase and the delivery was appreciated. My wife and I have been customers of HC dealerships for almost 20 years, and have purchased more than a dozen vehicles. These are the types of experiences that keep us returning to his dealership. I purchased a 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Cab used and Porsche Certified with 4500 miles on it. The negotiating process was okay but with slow response times from sales people. As I was buying this 100K plus vehicle sight unseen I inquired telephonically and via email as to it's condition and was assured it was "showroom ready and only needed detailing". When it was delivered (at 9:30 at night) the car was covered with deep rain spotting and bird droppings. I had paid for a covered carrier so this was unexpected and unacceptable. I also found several deep scratches on the bumper which were not disclosed to me by the dealership. I was also only given one key for the vehicle when the purchase agreement clearly stated two keys as part of the purchase. I contacted Ian Miller the General Manager for Herb Chambers Porsche of Boston and brought all the above to his attention. He agreed to have a key sent to me (on several occasions) and to have the vehicle detailed and scratches painted at my local Porsche dealership and the he would pay for and coordinate with my local dealership. To date several months after the fact I am still waiting for my key and my local Porsche dealership has been unable to receive payment from Herb Chambers Porsche after many attempts to do so. In addition, I overpaid for my registration and I am due a refund from Herb Chambers Porsche but even though Ian Miller has told me several times he would do so I am still awaiting the check. If you choose to do business with Ian Miller and Herb Chambers of Boston please do so with eyes wide open. Do not give them ANY money until all has been delivered to your satisfaction. I attempted to resolve this through Porsche Customer Commitment and it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. BEWARE! read more
