Recently traded in our Pilot for a new Mazda CX-5, and the customer experience from end to end was no less than exceptional. My care team, which consisted of Ray, Sami, Stephen, and Alex, was polished and streamlined, which was much appreciated by this very busy toddler mom and tech professional. Right at the get-go, Ray understood my need to have everything lined up and ready to go so he answered most of my questions ahead of my arrival at the dealership. Already sold on the idea of a Mazda, I completed my credit application ahead of time, and had already narrowed down my options between the different vehicle types. Once I finally made it to the dealership, Sami had the car ready for me to test drive and we went over the paperwork in less than half an hour. Stephen then helped me choose a couple of great warranty options that I didn't even think to get, but I know will already pay off. On the day of pickup, Alex was gracious enough to walk me through all the different options in the car and patiently waited until I was done asking random questions. Alex and Sami, come to find out, had gone to work that morning on their day off to make sure I was able to have the best pickup/send-off experience. Thank you to this amazing team for the superior customer experience. 5 stars all the way! read more

I originally had a 2015 GMC Terrain that was getting up there in miles. And recently got into an accident and the damaged cost more than the car itself. So it was time to start the daunting process of car shopping. I started at NuCar Honda and didn't find anything I loved. And then knew through my research my heart was set on a Mazda. I found Ira Mazda. My husband and I were warmly greeted. We worked with David Haynes he was respectful and patience with us having gone car shopping with our 2 year old toddler. (Bad Idea!) He made sure to check on cars I liked. I drove a CX5 and then my top choice CX30. We went for test drive and had nice conversation. No high pressure sales guy! Came back to show room to overtired toddler who was working off 15min nap and goldfish. Sadly we had to leave last night toddler over shoulder. He gave me his card. New day... Today we came back refreshed David texted promptly came in to help us on a Sunday! I did ALOT online to speed up the process. He talked us through it all. Again very respectful and patient! We then met with finance manager Ramone he was super chill and relaxed. He explained things I didn't fully understand and again had patience with us signing paper with a 2 year old singing and drawing. The whole process start to finish was a breeze! I will be in the Mazda family for a long time! My friend is also looking for a new car and I will highly recommend who we worked with! I can't wait to drive my brand new car! read more

I had sent an initial inquiry in through AutoTrader about a week before and was trying to find time to come in and see the car. I was texting with someone named Lisa who was coordinating everything. Finally, I was in the area and texted Lisa that I'd be in to see the car. She instructed me the car would be waiting and I could see it when I got there. When I got in, I went to the sales desk and had to poke my head in to get anyones attention. I spoke to a sales manager and asked for Lisa.... Apparently Lisa isn't on site! So I told the sales manager what I was there for, she pointed me outside and said the car should be in this area, and a sales person will be with you shortly. I went outside, looked for the car - no where to be found... walked around the sales lot for a good 15 minutes trying to find it, and no one came out to see us. So we left. I texted Lisa back that I had to go, and she apologized, and offered a remote test drive. I said yes that would be great! From that point, I never heard from them again. I texted a few days later "I'm starting to think you dont want to sell me this car!" with no answer - so I suppose I was right, and they certainly weren't willing to go the extra mile to accommodate a customer. I will never buy a car from any IRA dealership ever. read more

I really wanted to purchase a new 2025 vehicle from Ira Mazda because of the convenient location and because I had my heart set on the car. We were quoted what seemed like a fair price online and came in ready to move forward. However, when we arrived, we were told that the price we were quoted applied to a used 2025 model -- not a new one. That was extremely frustrating and felt like a bait-and-switch situation. We were then encouraged to consider a 2026 model instead, being told there was no price increase and that it's "not recommended" to buy the first year of a model. This pivot made us uneasy, especially after the pricing confusion. We were very clear that we did not want to spend more than the originally quoted amount, so the salesperson shifted back to the used 2025 option. He left to bring the car around and was gone for about 15 minutes with no communication, which only added to our frustration. At that point, we decided to leave. Ironically, the salesperson reappeared just as we were walking out the door. Overall, our morning was wasted, which was really disappointing because we genuinely wanted to buy from Ira Mazda. After this experience, I would not recommend purchasing from here -- even if it is convenient. read more

I had an appointment to come test drive a used vehicle, as I the salesman told me someone just walked in and bought it. So I guess the 40 miles I drove to come see this vehicle was no big deal as far as they were concerned. Terrible service. read more

We bought our first new car in many years at Ira Mazda in December 2025 - CX 5. The sales team - David was our main sales person - was professional and courteous. After purchase Alex spent a long time with us thoroughly going over all the tech in the car with options for follow up calls if any questions. Also, in our car shopping research we had stopped in at several local dealers - different brands of cars - and this location was the most helpful finding us the car we wanted in our price range. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give this dealership a 0 I would. Buying a car from them was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. We found a car for my son at this dealership and came back the following day with our trade in and to sign all the paperwork. We waited 4 hours to sign 7 pieces of paper. The trade in we were doing was a car from my son's dad who had recently passed away. The dealership told us we could include the car in the deal and just had to get some paperwork completed from the executor where the title was in his dad's name. OK, great! They gave us the information, which was passed on. All the information / paperwork was completed on our end and the day we went to leave to get the car, we were told they needed additional paperwork from the executor. Bernie, the Sales Manager, was now involved to help clean up the mess we were dealing with. The executor completed all the information we were told was required and we scheduled another pick up day with the dealership. Again, on the day of pick up, we got another call from the dealership and was told more paperwork was required and they were going to overnight it to the executor to complete and send back. Overnight delivery didn't happen, paperwork wasn't received, and no one from the dealership was responding to our calls. We finally had a random sales person from the dealership step in and try to assist where none of the other people we were working with would call us back. After 2 weeks of still not having the car, the dealership finally offered my son a loaner vehicle and were told it would be ready as soon as he arrived. Dealership is an hour away from us and this was now the 3rd time we had to go back. We waited an hour to get the loaner vehicle. They delivered my sons car a week later; in total it took 3 weeks from signing the paperwork and "buying" the car to actually receiving it. A week later, we get emails and calls from the dealership stating they don't have a copy of my son's license and without it, "the deal can't go through". Note they took my son's license 3 times (uploaded image in an identity confirmation app, took a picture of it when we signed the deal paperwork and then took another picture when we signed out the loaner car). Their mistake (again) and they expect us to drive the hour back to Westwood so they can take a picture of it. This dealership is completely unprofessional and incompetent. Once they get the sale, they don't care about you. If you have problems and complain, you're labeled as "difficult" and then no one is willing to talk to you. BUYER BEWARE - CHOOSE A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP TO BUY YOUR VEHICLE!!! read more

From the start this didn't look good. Assigned salesman named Tony didn't even have the common courtesy to introduce himself and shake my hand. I should've left right then. I was informed that the used Toyota Tacoma I came to check out had not even gone through the shop to see what work it needed. Why was I not informed of this when I called and inquired about the trucks availability? Again, I should've left right there. I was only allowed to drive the truck around the parking lot for a short time and not allowed to check the truck out in their shop on a lift. The Tacoma looked great and seemed to drive well for what little driving I was permitted to do. The salesman Tony had decided for me that I was going to buy the truck regardless of what I wanted insisting how great it was. Next came the usual old tactics of stalling and pressure sales with meaningless paperwork questions, the tried and true "get me endless water bottles" and telling me how I had to move now or the truck would be gone in hours. Even though I knew I should leave (and it's my fault for not doing so), I did really like what little I saw and knew of the truck. I did tell the office manager I wanted a new salesman. That did seem to back off the salesman Tony. I tentatively agreed with the office manager while waiting for a new salesman to be assigned to purchase the truck on the condition of a maintenance inspection. Supposedly a truck that looked cherry and only had 42K miles on it needs both sides front CV joints replaced along with a very extensive list of other way out of the ordinary, non routine drivetrain items replaced. That was along with other somewhat routine items like a tail light (which looked fine to me and worked fine as well). So it seems the truck is a complete disaster area that was beat on and the dealership got taken for a ride on it at trade in just because it looked pretty. Needless to say, the pretty paint job tricked these clowns into not doing even the slightest mechanical check of the truck at trade in. Drove 80+ miles each way for a complete waste of my time and a test of my patience and tolerance with a rude, pushy and condescending salesman. Lessons learned - Leave right away when the salesman turns your stomach. Never go look at a vehicle which hasn't been inspected for problems. Trust your instincts when you know deep down the place, the people and the vehicle leave a lot to be desired or are unknown and very questionable commodities. read more

I found this dealership based on Yelp reviews looking for 3+ stars and I would say this dealership was...fine. Stepping into the Mazda Westwood, it was clear that everyone working at the dealership is really interested in helping their customers based on the friendly greetings from multiple staff members. Working with Doug Clark, aka 'The Mazda Man', was a fun and easeful experience, and I felt no pressure to make any hasty decisions - all descriptions I'd never think I'd be using to describe a car leasing experience! Doug took the time to understand what my needs were in a car, my budget, and my wishes for driving over the next few years. He explained some of Mazda's models and car features in ways that were digestible and accessible for someone like me - who knows not much at all about cars. I really appreciated his transparency, warmth, and genuine desire for me to find a car that fit my needs. From start to finish, Doug was such a pleasure to work with - where I'd expect pushiness and lack of clarity in a process like getting a car, there was nothing but ease, no-stress, and positivity from start to finish. This was also true of working with Paul Dumas on the business side of my lease, who was clear, transparent, and took the time to explain everything to me. What's more, when I came into the dealership along with my mom to check out car models, Doug helped my mom with a major car issue she was having by graciously connecting her with the Mazda service department (and my mom doesn't even have a Mazda). I was blown away by the care and customer service. The day I went to pick up my car, Doug even had the car parked back in the showroom to talk me through more details in real time and ensure that I understood each and every feature. I felt so comfortable, safe, and truly excited to start driving when leaving the dealership that day. Everyone at Mazda Westwood (Doug, Paul, and team) was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about my satisfaction. My experience with Doug especially reflected that he really cares about building great relationships with his clients, not just making a sale. I'm so grateful for all his help and would recommend working with 'The Mazda Man' again in a heartbeat. read more

I had an incredible experience at this Mazda. Having just moved from a different state, I found the entire staff so welcoming. Not only did they help me make a same day service appointment over the phone, but also, they were quick, transparent and walked me through the entire service for my car (video, in person, and in a follow up print out and text). Adam in service was INCREDIBLE and I will ask for him every single time going forward. He is so knowledgeable about each car, he is so personable, kind, and helped me understand how my car would do in our first East Coast Winter. Additionally, Alexander was so wonderful as well! He walked me through the entire registration process since we now need MA plates, and prepared me for what I will need to bring to the RMV. Would give these 2 employees 10 stars if I could!! Great overall experience and made servicing my car as painless as possible. read more

Hello My name is Coach Kevin Kearns . You may have heard of me through as a conditioning coach for 15 UFC fighters back in the early 2000's . I have been on the road in the trenches training people 1 on 1 , corporate wellness classes for some of the biggest companies in New England , public speaking and teaching abroad for over 30 years. That being said I have more than my fair share of vehicles for what I do to earn my living . After 3 decades of buying cars , I have to say this about my experience at Ira Mazda , they are beyond reproach in their whole experience purchasing a new vehicle ! They are the best of the best when comes to it all ! Especially people like Levi Downing my sales person . At 75 years young he still out there selling without selling. What that means is no high pressure and no bait and switch . Just an honest man solving needs for customers. That's what selling is all about . My experience was truly effortless !!! Most of it was done by phone , then I came in finished the paperwork with Paul and I as gone 90 minutes later !!!! Versus hours and hours of being at the dealer and loosing an entire day of work to haggle . At 59 years young I don't have the patience or time to waste ! Do You of course not . So do yourself a big favor go their first before you go anywhere else , and you will not regret it !!!!! As well as everyone else on the team were all diamonds !! Never. Ever. Again. I bought my car at Prime Mazda 6 years ago, and that was a debacle, but they made it right at the time, and so I've continued to go there for service. It's been generally good, a few times I felt I was getting a light up-sell, but Mazda's are pretty reliable and don't require a ton of care. During the height of the pandemic they did a pick up and delivery of the car, so I felt justified in giving them my business. Today I brought the car in at 8:15 AM for an oil change and an inspection. I was getting my 45K maintenance. They went through the car and found $1500 of recommended repairs - belts, brake fluid flush, tire alignment. Man, that sucks, but as I said I haven't spent a ton on maintenance over the years, it's been 6 winters and 6 thaws, and so I guess I'm due. I approve it all. The service tech comes to where I'm waiting and tells me they are going to get me a Lyft ride home. Oh no, says I, I live in Malden, it's too far. No, not at all, says he, I'll get you a ride home, and a ride back here when the car is done. Skip ahead, it's 3:45. Radio silence. Google says they close at 5. I start calling them, get put on hold for 20 minutes, and then finally the service center coordinator picks up and explains nobody can find my service tech, but the car is almost done, and he'll call back soon to arrange a ride. 10 minutes later he calls... and tells me he can't get me a ride back. Surge pricing. Traffic. It's so far, they can't possibly get me there. Can I get my car tomorrow? No, of course I can't get my car tomorrow. I have plans early tomorrow morning. If you had told me you were keeping my car overnight I would have told you to give me a loaner, not Lyft me one way home and then tell me I was screwed. He informs me he CAN'T get me a lyft back, it's above his limit to spend. Cue several frantic phone calls to local friends, finally finding a verifiable SAINT who is willing to sit in an hour of traffic to bring me down there. I finally get there, my car is done, doesn't look like it's even been through the on-site wash. It's covered in little sticky white Styrofoam pieces that look like they've blown off from the roof. Great, now I need to go get a car wash too. The nod to this wild inconvenience? A card telling me I can come back and get it detailed - gee, thanks, for leaving my car not even spritzed down and inviting me for another full day of driving. The kicker, all I wanted was an oil change. Even then, I would have gladly just worked from there all day. What a wild ride, what a terrible experience, what a total willingness to ruin your customers day and leave them no recourse. What if I hadn't been able to find a ride? Guess it would have been my problem, what an idiot I am for doing business with them. Not much I can do other than Never. Ever. Go there again. And warn all of you - they don't give a care for you - take your business somewhere else that will at least respect your time while charging you out the eyeballs for service. read more

We had the worst experience here in Feb 2020. We were confused between the CX 5 and the CX 9 and wanted to check out both the cars. Our salesperson was kind enough to let us test drive both of them and we landed on the CX 9 2020 model. The salesman quoted high numbers for the previous year model with 3000+ miles on it. We were in between discussing numbers and told them a quote a friend received from a different dealership when the general manager walked in and rudely asked us to leave. We ended up buying a new car from Quirk Mazda at a much lower cost. read more

Was on a used car search with a pretty clear idea of what I wanted and went to Ira Mazda. The cars here were definitely more of the higher priced ones that I encountered in my car search. Additionally, my sales person was kind but not necessarily helpful in the car search. Lastly, they wouldn't honor a price drop alert for a car that was reposted due to the previous buyer financing falling through. Had a much better experience at Alden Mazda in Fairhaven where I ended up getting a CX5 at a better price with lower miles. read more

Took delivery last week of a Certified Pre Owned 2019 Miata X5. It was weird because of Covid but both the Sales Executive Harshene Cunningham and Business Manager Rob we're extremely accommodating. We met outside for all the stages of the purchase. For the initial inspection which was by appointment (highly recommended), the car was brought to a viewing area and was cleaned and sanitized. At the final delivery the car looked as good or better than new. I ordered a few accessories; all weather mats, MX sill plates and a color matched rear lip spoiler that were professionally installed and the closing and delivery were perfect. I was offered a comprehensive orientation by a product specialist but I declined again because of Covid and the small size of the car. I would highly recommend the Team at Prime Mazda. Harshene was very responsive before, during and even after the transaction. read more

Went in on 3/16 to test drive a CX5. Loved the car a scheduled an appointment for Monday 3/18 to purchase the vehicle as they were closed on the 17th. Called today the 18th to confirm the appointment, which salesperson did. He even said he would pull it out, so we could look at it again. Drove up after work with a check in hand to do paperwork only to be told they sold the car an hour ago, even though we asked for a call if this was going to happen to ensure the sale. After standing around for a half hour someone, presumably a manager tried to offer us completely different car. tTrrible sales tactic and very dishonest. Why wouldn't anyone trust a dealer that operates like that? Never considering Ira again for anything. Buyers beware! read more

My car burned down unexpectedly several months ago and my wife and I were in immediate need of a new car. I'm skeptical of car salesman to begin with as I have not had many positive experiences. And I'll also note that I don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one about my experience with one of Ira's car salesman - Doug Clark. It's pretty sad that the gist of EVERY negative review on this site has the same theme: a lack of follow-up and customer service. My story is the same: too much time chasing them after no response. When my car was ready, I didn't get a call. When they promised to follow-up on a potential service quote, I didn't get a call. When I called them and left a message for a manager, who only got involved because the service department is inept, I didn't get a call. This is possibly the worst dealership I have ever encountered and, barring a Mazda-mandatory recall, I will never step foot there again. read more

Good experience, bought a used cx-5. Doug was great. Would recommend and will shop here again.

Attempted to purchase a car from this dealer online. Thought the process was smooth and easy. They provided chat support thru the process. The staff on the chat ran my credit, asked me for a deposit to which I answered I want to make my down payment and close the deal. The next chat was that the car had sold. I promptly instructed him to cancel my order. The service manager called me the next day to follow up. When I explained the situation I received a half hearted apology and then I was hung up on. And when I say hung up on, aggressively slammed in my ear. Needless to say, I am purchasing from a different dealer. read more

Unfortunately, I wish my experience was similar to the rest of the reviews left on google/facebook/yelp. I went to purchase a car at the end of April, by myself as a young woman in her 20's. I felt that the overall experience at the dealership during COVID, was okay... not something remarkable. Purchasing my first car...should be memorable...but no I do not feel that way and at a point wish I could return the car and buy from somebody else. I am flustered to say the least. After purchasing the car, the customer service experience has been very low. I understand COVID could have extra delays, but keep in communication with your client who just purchased the car then. I didn't hear from my sales rep from May 13 to June 8th for an update. That is almost a WHOLE month!!! Oh and I called and left two messages and never received phone calls back...only by email can I contact my sales rep. At the moment, I would not recommend anybody to buy from Prime Mazda Norwood. Update: I got in touch with Tony, the sales manager. He handled my questions promptly this afternoon. I'm happy about the quick response, I just wish the whole experience went this way. read more

We went to this dealership with the intention of buying a new car that day. Upon walking in no one spoke to us... we waited and waited as a line of people formed behind us. Very few employees seemed to be waiting on customers in the showroom. When we were about to leave and give up- someone finally came out to help us. They brought a model of the car we were considering out and set it up to test drive - we would be the first to ever drive this car and it would be the one we purchased if we liked it after the test drive. It was the exact trim and package we wanted. While waiting for the car to be prepared to test drive and told it was being set up just for us- two other customers were somehow given the keys before us. Confusing... so we continued to wait and wait. The manager who was helping us came out about 45 mins - 1 hour later from wherever he went to ask us how we liked it? And we still hadn't driven it yet. After finally test driving it and loving it- They ended up sending us over to Car Max to try to get the most for our trade in which I get and appreciate- but when we called them back to put a deposit on the car and follow up no one returned our call. We have called several times with no response. We ended up taking our business elsewhere. We wasted about 3.5 hours there that day - most spent waiting - and spent about an hour if that reserving our new car with a different dealership the next weekend. Westwood offered us a $500 discount for "waiting" - it's funny that discount is offered everywhere which I knew before I even got there so that didn't smooth things over in my mind. Another $500 tacked onto the trade in would have been fair after all this (an honest $500 apology) and we would have put money down on the spot. Instead we left feeling like they had no intention of really helping us that day or took us seriously. Comments about the condition of our 13 year old car who's paint failed due to a proven faulty paint job by the dealership and our rims having scratches on them were shared in a bit of a condescending manner. Very, disappointed with the service we received as we had every intention of buying a car from them- in particular the very one we test drove. Guess they didn't want our business- I can only assume they sold the car to one of the other people who got to test drive it before us. Guess we will never know- but I do know if they appreciated our business they would have called us back. Clearly they did not... and we finally got tired of waiting. I don't usually leave reviews but this was so disappointing I had to- especially with all the 5 star reviews here. read more
