This is my second time moving with Metropolis and it was another great experience. Both times, all of the movers were kind, communicative and efficient. For this move, Zach, John and Kavan were awesome! My partner and I couldn't believe how fast they could unload our stuff and all of our items arrived unscathed/undamaged. Hands down thee best moving experience I've had! Darryl, Nate & Louis were all very friendly and super calm. They put me at ease and went above & beyond, even taking my personal stuff down & loading up my car! They were on time and got right to it. Although I use reviews to guide my purchases, I'm not so good at taking the time to leave them. However, I found Metropolis Moving on Yelp so I feel the need to pay it forward. This company was the first I'd come across with stellar reviews so I called them right away. I reached out to some others for quotes, but already had my mind made up because Barry was so calm in walking me through the process which eased my anxiety. The move couldn't have gone any more smoothly although I had several items over the original inventory list (for which I received a fair price on top of an already fair quote). We were blown away by Metropolis' kindness, professionalism, and speed (before the move and day of!). Despite an insane amount of stairs, they handled all of our items with care. George & Nelson helped my partner and I move today from Brooklyn, NY to Philadelphia, PA and it was hands down one of the best moving experiences I've ever had. They arrived early within the arrival time window and made sure to ask questions about specific items; their attention to detail was incredible. They were on time, friendly, and professional. Meant to write this review months ago but we were beyond happy with our experience with Metropolis! The process was super easy and the quote very fair. Alan, George, and Dorian treated our items with care and steadfastly moved a 2-bedroom from a fourth floor walk-up to another fourth floor walk-up with kindness and speed. There were a couple insert shelves left in the truck that no one noticed, and they went out of their way to drop them off to me the next day. Terrific experience with Metropolis Moving. They were professional, personable, quick to respond, and very helpful on the day of the move. We actually had to put all of our items in storage for two weeks, so we technically had two moves. This was not an issue with the Metropolis team and they executed both moves without any issue. In fact, I ended up having less than I originally reported so he actually lowered my price. He was extremely professional and helpful through the entire process. Darryl, AJ and Jimmy worked their asses off and they were also really nice guys! I was moving from a 4-story walk-up and they were on time, efficient and quick. I honestly don't even know how to begin with my praise for Metropolis; they were so fantastic every step of the way. First, we had a ever-changing move-in date thanks to complications with the apartment, and Zach was SO accommodating and patient with working with me on that. I felt terrible having to keep coming back and adjust, but he made it work. On the day of the move, we had Chris, Darryl, and Nate come and they were TOP NOTCH movers. They were speedy, efficient, and really nice people. Our original time-slot was between 8-9am, and they were there right when they said they would be. They immediately came in and just cleared out the apartment. I thought it would take forever with all of the stuff that we had, but it was just so quick, even with a giant and heavy couch that had to be taken apart to fit through our narrow door. Once we got to the new apartment, once again they made getting everything into the space seem super easy. The whole process was done in about 3/3:30 hours including travel time (we moved from Greenpoint to Astoria and it took about 15-20 minutes to get between locations). If you are looking for a moving company who is fairly priced, skilled, and unbelievably friendly, LOOK NO FURTHER. Seriously, I wish all of my friends were moving so I could recommend Metropolis. Hands down the best moving experience I've ever had! They are very responsive (by email and phone), very well organized, and incredibly courteous. The quotes are accurate and the price is very reasonable. Their system for updating your inventory the day before the move works perfectly to adjust your price once you see how your stuff all gets packed. Their quoted rate was right around what I received from other companies but their communication and willingness to work with my needs set them apart. Their crew arrived in the specified window and worked extremely quickly at the old apartment and again at the new apartment. Unfortunately, our TV was broken during the move. However, after letting Metropolis know about the issue, they immediately offered to order me a replacement or cash. Awesome customer service. Olivia and her team were so gracious and patient with helping me reschedule and bearing with me through the uncertainty of when the elevators would be repaired. We had a great experience with Metropolis. They were very easy to use, having us send a list of our inventory and then giving a set price based on that. We were able to change the list up until the day before and the price was changed accordingly. No deposit was requested. I did get two other quotes as I was afraid they wouldn't be able to accommodate a rather last minute move, and they were over $200 less than the rest. We used Metropolis for an early morning Sunday move from Harlem to Bushwick. They showed up on time and the move went very smoothly! It was raining and cold AND there was a street fair going on right on the street we moved to. You can imagine that I was freaking out a little bit. They parked half a block away and carried all of our stuff into our new place, no drama. They were friendly and the whole experience, although could have been very hectic and dramatic given the circumstances, was easy and smooth. I will absolutely use them again! My Wife and I used Metropolis Movers because they gave us the best rate. Max and Chris showed up at our old home in Bedstuy and we went over everything that was in the inventory. They moved everything flawlesly and very efficiently, we were done moving before noon which was amazing. I am the worst at packing... I did not cover any of our plates or glassware with paper because I was lazy. But I didn't have to tell them all our boxes were fragile, they treated everything with care and nothing got broken or chipped which was a miracle. Highly recommended!!!!
