I can't say enough about Metropolis Moving and their team. From the communication before the move to the day of the move, everything was handled in a professional and efficient manner and pricing was extremely fair. I haven't moved in 25 years and heard nightmares about moving, Metropolis made the process easy. If you are moving I highly recommend using Metropolis, I am so glad I did! read more

The movers at Metropolis are true professionals. From their communications at the front-end through the completion of the physical move, everything is organized and synchronized. Our team had Chris, Cathal, and Nick working swiftly and efficiently at accomplishing the move with great success. Highly recommended. read more

These guys are professionals. They got the job done well for a great price. Tough job but they did this one very well. Very happy to have found this crew and will recommend. read more

My partner and I recently hired Metropolis Moving for a Brooklyn move. Weeks before the move, the office was very responsive - providing a certificate of insurance and guidance. Day of, the team showed up within the window specified and were efficient and extremely helpful. The price they charged was exceedingly reasonable, especially given they were forced to deal with a very difficult landlord on the premises plus some roadwork at the drop-off location. Thankfully they kept their cool and got the job done as respectfully and quickly as possible given the circumstances. And, not a single item was broken or missing at the end. Would definitely work with them again and recommend to a friend! read more

I've used Metropolis twice now, one for a last minute hellish move out of NYC during Covid and one from NJ to CT. Both moves the team was amazing. Start to finish they literally couldn't have done a single thing better. They're fast and responsive when you submit a request, the booking process is so simple and straightforward, both times the movers were LOVELY people. Treated my things like their own, kind and professional, and also QUICK. Always on time, easy to communicate with, and genuinely helpful. Above and beyond what I expect in movers. And to top it all off: the rates are great ! read more

First time using Metropolis, and it was a breeze. The moving team was on prompt, and super efficient along the whole process. Guys were really friendly and made our move a breeze. Getting a quote was really simple, with their online forms making the whole process quick and detailed for them to generate the list and final quote. They were also super responsive in the weeks before the move, updating the quote as the items list changed and helping provide clarity on logistics. read more

This is the second time I have used Metropolis Moving in Queens, NY and each time has been fantastic! This time I had Jesse, Eric and Brandon as my designated movers and they were so professional, communicative, efficient and very friendly. Their pricing is extremely reasonable but quality is not sacrificed at all! Will continue using Metropolis as my preferred moving company and would recommend to family and friends! read more

Made my move very smooth! Jake, Nate, and Jon were on time and made the process so easy. They were fast and the move was done in no time. I had some extra items which they had to charge extra for but the additional cost was very reasonable. Booked them based on their good reviews and it was true! read more

these yelp reviews have GOT to be fake. this company showed up 8 hours late for a scheduled move. It is 12:48 am and the move is still underway. they were slated to arrive at 2pm in brooklyn and showed up at 11pm leaving no time for the cleaning service to do the required apartment clean up post vacate and the storage unit we have is now closed. in addition moving to a residential suburban neighborhood at 3 am is less than ideal. the movers blamed the back office and the back office closes at 5pm and leaves no email address or evening phone number so legit leaving folks stranded. yes you may get the cheapest quote but it's a trick. They make you pay them in advance and then they hold you hostage when they just don't show up or show up eight hours late. Stay away from this company at all costs unless you want your already stressful move to be an epic disaster!!! read more

Jonathan, Jack & Nick did a fantastic job. Excellent communication, attitude, transparency and moving job in general. NYC was in a state of emergency due to rain and flooding; however, they came with a plan and adjusted accordingly. Their timely hard work and ability to keep everything dry was much appreciated. I never once felt nervous or worried about their execution or keeping my belongings safe and instead felt like I could trust them right away. Furthermore, setting up the moving date, getting a fair estimate & making changes to my itemized list ahead of time was super easy and the team responds promptly. I would absolutely recommend and will use them again if I ever move! read more

I used Metropolis last year when I moved and had such a good experience that I didn't even hesitate when deciding to use them again this year - they make the process so smooth and stress-free. Their website is super easy to navigate, they're extremely nice and communicative over email, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. This year my movers were Chris, Dorian, and Jonathan - they were amazing! I was moving from Brooklyn to Manhattan and the whole process was probably less than 2 hours. Will continue to use/recommend this company in the future!!!! read more

This is our third moving company in the last 15 months, with this trip being between the UPACK terminal and about 5 mi into Queens. I've learned a lot with these moves (most are not great memories) and for this one.... 1. They are registered with the DOT FMCSA government agency, so I trust they are who they are. 2. They are a moving company with their own trucks/movers and not a broker who finds you trucks/movers. 3. They had an online process that asked the right questions (inventory, location, how to get in and out, etc) and responded very quickly (same day). 4. The cost that was quoted was the cost that I paid, nothing hidden (I got hit with this before, not fun). It wasn't the cheapest (~$900 for 1br) but my past experiences taught me to gauge trustworthiness and use that as the primary decision maker. 5. There were 2 movers that came, good with communication, and they were able to assess the situation quickly and make good decisions on loading/unloading. No fuss, very professional, and worked with my anxiety and need to be there and around everything. I hope some of the above helps you with your move...these are things I wish I knew on my first move...but you live and you learn. read more

Have moved several times within NYC and this was the best experience thus far. Jesse and Klaude were on time, professional, and incredibly efficient. Zero complaints. read more

Metropolis Moving took REALLY good care of us from the start. Very quick, responsive, efficient, professional in email communications getting and finalizing the Quote, identifying our inventory to be moved, and getting a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for the building; they covered all the bases and questions up front. Clear and concise on details and expectations. Competitive pricing. BEFORE Move Day, texted with a confirmation of Date and Show Time, which was comforting. ON Move Day, communicated that they were on the way that morning, 30 minutes out -- then they were 100% on-time arrival, and they made quick and efficient work of the move out. Under 1 hour for a one bedroom apartment. It was like watching a well-orchestrated dance. They had the moves down! We used the BoxedUp system which is AWESOME. On delivery into new apartment, again, it was all "in" very quickly. Only issue we had was a couple of damaged lamps -- and Metropolis was responsive and swift in the resolution to get repairs done. All good. In addition they were all quite pleasant and friendly. We were in good hands, and they will see us again on our next local move! I recommend highly. read more

Incredible movers, highly recommend. I've moved 7 times in NYC and these were the best. Very easy, no hassle, super accommodating, on time, quick, and transparent. I will use again. read more

I had a great experience with Metropolis Moving! My movers were Alan and Codte. They were efficient and professional and were clear about upcharges resulting from having more than what I'd listed in my inventory. It was a hot day and pouring down rain, but they did a great job and handled it very well. I would recommend Metropolis to any of my friends looking to move in NYC. read more

Well, the need arose again, and today I had Metropolis move 10 very heavy cartons, etc. from Manhattan to Hoboken. As with our last move from NY to Hoboken in March, the Metropolis team was totally professional, proficient and personable. The team (Johan, Kavan and Randi) were incredibly easy to work with. And the speed with which they completed the move blew me away. As before, I won't hesitate to use Metropolis again in the future. read more

We had a move between states, and Metropolis had the whole thing done well in less than half a day! Communication on the phone and email prior to the move was great, and our team day-of -- Jake, Cathal, and Johan -- were super calm, efficient, and prepared. We would recommend Metropolis to anyone in NYC looking for a local move or folks moving out of the area seeking a good deal and reliable, trustworthy team. Thanks! read more

I have used Metropolis twice now in the past several years, moving from CT to NY and back again to CT. All of the movers have been efficient, kind, and just great people. We were lucky enough to recently have Jake, Darryl, and George move us to CT. They make the whole process seamless and less painful, so we can't recommend them enough. read more

They were amazing start to finish! The price was the price, no add ons! Jesse and George were friendly, helpful, polite , efficient and careful. We will absolutely sue them again and recommend them to all of our friends and family. read more

We had an excellent experience with Metropolis from the planning stages to the actual move. They were super responsive in the days leading up to the move and happily changed my inventory list a million times, only making a minor adjustment to the original quote (which was already very reasonable). On moving day 3 men arrived on time. They were very nice and worked hard for hours. They also weren't sticklers about the inventory list and wound up taking a few extra things for us. Definitely recommend! read more

Don't hesitate to hire. I did a move from Brooklyn to Philly and the team pulled it off flawlessly. Three men showed up at my door professional, personable and ready to work. Start time was 8am, finished at 3. read more

Total garbage. They sent two college kids, one of whom was an obnoxious privileged elitist type who kept complaining about the work and seemed to imply it was somehow beneath him ("I'm a high performing English major from Minnesota. I won't be doing this for long!"). He continuously made random jokes that political correctness has run amok and that he isn't allowed to say anything any more (while making cringeworthy jokes that insult homosexuals and other groups). He broke my furniture (major crack in our bed frame), didn't apologize for it. Then at the end kept complaining about being hungry and asked us to order him dinner (we ordered him everything he asked for, which was quite a bit) then complained delivery was taking too long as he physically stopped unpacking or doing any work. Then he got angry and literally walked off the job, leaving his partner to pick up after him! Worst experience ever. Stay more than 6 feet away from these creeps. read more

These guys are great. Very easy to work with, great communication, very respectful and careful. Jake, Brian, and Nico were excellent movers, and handled our large move with total professionalism and expertise. They were able to angle our sofa through our new front door with millimeters to spare. Great value, highly recommend, will definitely use them again for my next move. read more

Had a fantastic experience with Metropolis Moving. Had to move belongings of a 3 bedroom apartment a mile away to the new place. Could have done it over time but would have taken many trips. This company helped relieve a lot of stress with moving. Prior to moving day their response time was very timely and clarified every aspect of the moving process so there wasn't much that surprised on moving day. NATE and BRYAN were our movers and they were extremely cool and polite. They handled everything with care but we're also very efficient with moving. Like it's crazy how fast these guys worked!!!! I am really thankful to have these guys shoulder the craziest part of moving and I definitely recommend anyone in the NY metro area to book their next move with this squad! read more

This is my second time over a few years using Metropolis Moving. I moved recently on one of the coldest days this winter. The movers (Alan, Darryl, and Klaude) were quick, efficient, punctual and super friendly! They had my 1 bedroom apartment completely moved in less than 2 hours. The price was reasonable. Awesome experience all around. Would absolutely hire the team again and recommend them to my friends and family. The movers were all friendly, respectful, and kind. They all had a positive attitude, which makes a big difference, plus they were super quick to move everything. A great value. We were not charged a dollar more than the quote. We saved over a thousand dollars by using Metropolis rather than a competitor. A+ experience in every way. read more

The most friendly and efficient movers ever! This was my first time moving with Metropolis, and safe to say they will be my go-to going forward. They were extremely communicative and accommodating during the coordination process--everything was crystal clear. Even though I wasn't as prepared as required when they arrived, they helped pack and move my extra items for a very reasonable additional fee. Zero judgment and tons of patience and understanding. Everything ofc within reason since they're on a schedule! A few items were damaged but I chalk that up to cheap IKEA material and working at speed--not bothered at all. Nate and Chris were extremely chill and enjoyed chatting with them in-between. Def go with Metropolis! read more

I honestly would give them more than 5 stars if I could! The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. I found their quote extremely reasonable and as I updated/added items leading up to my move Metropolis was very understanding and didn't up the price. My movers were Misha and Darryl, who were both super helpful and super strong! They cleared out several massive items from my fourth floor walk up in under an hour! Both unpacked everything at my new location with ease and again quickly! Total bonus was I loved speaking to both! Just so seamless and so kind all around - 12/10 would recommend Metropolis! read more

This was our second move using Metropolis, and our second experience was just as good as the first! Corey was extremely helpful and accommodating as we planned the move and executed the quote. These guys know the NYC landscape and can handle the job. Steve, Darryl, Jake, and Nate were a great moving day team! They were careful, smart, efficient, kind, worked well with our building staff in NYC, handled the narrow street parking issues in Philly well, and were just plain lovely to be around. Would give Metropolis our highest recommendation for moves into, out of and within NYC. read more

Metropolis moving were great! I booked them to move some furniture from a Ubox Container in New Jersey to our new apartment in Brooklyn. There were extremely responsive and worked with me on the itinerary/cost prior to the moving date. With moving companies, I'm usually worried about potential increases to the cost on the day of moving. That wasn't an issue with Metropolis. On the day of the move, the moving team of Nelson, Chris J & George were on time and very efficient. It took them very little time to load and unload the truck at either end. This included taking furniture/boxes up two flights of stairs. Nelson, Chris J & George were all polite, friendly and accommodated any requests that we had. I would definitely recommend Metropolis moving to anyone in the area and will be using them again for any future moves that I do. read more

Although I use reviews to guide my purchases, I'm not so good at taking the time to leave them. However, I found Metropolis Moving on Yelp so I feel the need to pay it forward. This company was the first I'd come across with stellar reviews so I called them right away. I reached out to some others for quotes, but already had my mind made up because Barry was so calm in walking me through the process which eased my anxiety. The move couldn't have gone any more smoothly although I had several items over the original inventory list (for which I received a fair price on top of an already fair quote). The team was communicative, professional, and had great attitudes towards the work ahead. I hope not to move again any time soon, but if I do I will use Metropolis Moving. read more
