I changed the battery in my key fob and the fob would no longer connect to my ford. I went to Ford on a Saturday and sat 4 hours and nearly had to spend $250 to just obtain the code to open the door. The ending result was Ford telling me to return another day to buy a 3rd fob that may solve the issue. I went to this store front by chance and the men had me in and out in less than 10 minutes. The best thing is they assessed both fobs and sent me on my way without charging me a cent!!! Who does this these days?? I am over joyed there are still people in this world who look out for others! This place is definitely the "go-to" spot for help with any type of issue with auto locks! Their service, integrity, and excellent repair work is top-notch When I first called here, my first impression wasn't that great. Phone etiquette skills are not their forte' BUT fixing your lock at a reasonable rate definitely is! :-) I have a used car. I didn't have an auto entry key.......just a regular key that had become worn down from use. Every place I called and stopped by before this spot told me that they would have take my door off the car and re-do the actual door lock as opposed to taking a look at my key and providing me with an auto lock entry system. A couple of places even told me that my 2010 car could not be set up with an auto lock system unless they opened up my dashboard and "re-wired a few things." Admittedly, I know nothing about auto repairs, but I'm too smart to "get got." Jason at Metro-Keys was honest and upfront from the start. He told me it might take an hour to a couple of hours to figure out what was going on and come up with a solution. So I found Metro-keys locksmith service on yelp after seeing all the good reviews and the promotion that they were having, I decided to give them a call. First impression, "did I call the wrong number?". The person picked up the phone was like "Hello". No greeting, no introduction, nothing. I was a little discouraged but decided to get the service regardless since I already paid for the deal that they had on yelp. My locksmith showed up about 10minutes later. A lot nicer and friendlier than I thought he would be from the phone "conversation". It took him a little while with my storage lock, but I did get a very good deal and the face to face interaction helped make up for the bad first impression :). read more

At first walked in. The guy told me to wait. And then after that he told me he did not have the key. Since i called before and made appointment and sent the photo to him. He call me said ok he has the key and told me the price and set up appointment. He end up after an hour like he can not do it How bad customer service. If you dont have it. I needed a new key to be made because I had lost my spare and he didn't even think twice about offering this service to me as well. I brought a lock cylinder from my old Buick Skylark's glove box door to these gentlemen. They spent the time to figure out how to set the lock up to match the car's existing key. Just bought a used Lexus and needed a new "master" key with remote. The dealership was wanting some outrageous fee to flash the computer and all that jazz... Do not go to this place. I brought in two deadbolts to be re-keyed and was quoted $22.50 to re-key both of them. That was on the high side, especially since I brought the locks to them. When he charged my card, he charged me $22.50 for both locks and claimed that he told me it was $22.50 per lock, which he absolutely did not. I would never have agreed to that. You can buy nice brand new deadbolts for less than that. What a ripoff. Avoid this place at all costs!!!!!!!!!! read more

While he was much later arriving than he quoted, I still give him 5 stars because we had a very hard lock and he worked his A$$ off until he got our door open. He must have tried 10 different ways. I purchased an after market key for my car off Amazon. After I tried to program it myself, I took it to Metro-Key who initially cut it for me, to program it for me. The chip in the key was faulty. Forest took the time to not only fix the faulty key but he made me a new copy and repaired the key that was broken! He went above and beyond my expectations! Needed a backup key made for a 2206 Lexus RX330. Bought the keys off eBay and took it to them. I was quoted $100 by Jason to cut and program the key. Was told it would take 20 minutes by Mark. Bought the eBay key in and it took two hours. Mark cut the keys and tried to program them but after 1.5 hours found out the eBay key did not have the right chip for the RX330. By this time, the keys were already cut and I couldn't return them to eBay seller for a refund. I was offer a replacement chip for $30. So, after two hours I finally got a Lexus key duplicated. Feedback for Metro-Kay, check the chip before you cut the key. All in all, I paid $120 for a replacement Lexus key, saving over a hundred from the Lexus dealership. Lesson learned? Check with the dealer and ask for key code for your vehicle, give them your VIN. Buy your replacement key from Amazon sellers that offer free key cutting service. Once your key arrives, switch out your old remote into the new key shell. read more
