They actually have several locations around the metroplex, but I came to this one based on the recommendation of a friend. I needed a copy of an elevator key. In fact I needed several copies. I wasn't sure it was even possible, but they were able to do it right on the spot and in a matter of minutes. They also provided a red rubber keychain in the shape of the state of Texas with the A-1 logo. The keys were about $7 each. What a deal! While I waited for the task to be completed, I looked over the cute key designs available for standard house keys. They had a collection of NFL designs as well as a variety of other hobbies. The store was quite large and filled with safes of various sizes. Also on display were a variety of lock entry systems including some with pin codes. Service was quick, price was reasonable, and the product worked!

In retrospect I realized that I have a history with this vendor as my company uses them for a multitude of things across multiple locations. Not every vendor makes it onto my radar, and the ones who do aren't for the most flattering reasons, but all my memories of utilizing Rolland at four different locations have been positive. The one that makes the most impact is probably when my old office was moving physical locations about five years ago. They installed my safe at the new location and I have mad respect for their patience with me. I had been working 7 days a week for 3 weeks in a row and was surrounded by other vendors so my ADD was on the fritz that day as we were down to the wire. They were one of two vendors that had it together and made sure to communicate seamlessly with me. There were also two occasions at two different offices where I needed to re-key the building due to missing keys. In both instances they responded timely and got the work done so fast it didn't distract from my busy day. This latest situation was a bit different as we needed to rekey the restrooms. My current office is an absolute disaster that wasn't maintained, which is mind boggling since the building is only about ten years old or so. I've been there a few months and I find something weird every week. I spoke to a lovely woman on the phone and realized I don't know a damn thing about restroom locks and what to call them. Not only did she follow my ridiculous description, she admitted she didn't have the knowledge of the name and referred to two other people there that were experts. She transferred me to Blake who was patient, an excellent communicator and took my situation seriously with the appropriate amount of urgency and follow up. In dealing with him I found out the specific lock I was looking for was called an entry lever. David then arrived, a day earlier than I initially expected and saw how busy I was. He took only a minute of my time having a very pleasant conversation and showing me the equipment he would be using. Seeing that I was swamped he showed himself to the restrooms and did the work very quickly. Then he waited for me to have some availability and showed me the different modes of the locks and actually taught me a few things about the types of businesses that need to utilize different locks. I was thrilled enough with that, but David also took it upon himself to fix a minor issue with both restroom doors. I had noticed that neither door closed all the way on its own, you had to actually pull it. This was the only office I had ever had this happen in but as I stated, the office is such a marvel of stupid little problems that wasn't even on my list of top 20 things to eventually fix. David explained it was a slight adjustment to the latch that was easy for him since he was already working on that part of the door (but was not part of the initial work order so he definitely went above and beyond) and such a little thing really made my day! My company uses them for a reason and I totally support that! I not only recommend Rolland for your commercial needs as a reliable vendor, but I would not hesitate to call them first if I had a personal need involving locks or a safe. Completely satisfied customer here! ** I do want to add that I saw the 3 negative reviews about being local locksmiths hired by the company. I cannot discount this as being true or false, I have dealt with many vendors over the years who end up sending a smaller business so I know that's not an uncommon practice. However, since my company signs visitors into a security log, I know from first hand experience that all the visits I mentioned were directly from Rolland employees in a Rolland embroidered shirt. My review is off my own experience with direct employees of this business in four different cities, though none were rural and that may or may not be the situation in the other reviews.

What I did not expect, however, was that I would receive products and service that exceeded my lofty expectations at an extremely competitive price. Nelson was transparent throughout the process and helped me select high-quality equipment that met my specific needs while staying within my budget. Nelson showed me how to use all of the features, but he also set up a number of parameters in advance based on our original discussion without requiring further input. That being said, I don't know if the actual price from competitors would have been higher than their quotes. For transparency here, I paid a $65 service fee plus $55 per house lock. The mailbox was a higher charge at $125. I was quoted $200-300 (probably assuming 3 locks rather than the 4 I ended up needing); it came out to about $410 plus tax. The result is the same. I have a fully rekeyed home and mailbox. Service was excellent. The vehicle was well marked and the Johnny was very professional and easy to work with.

The young man contacted the office and the price was lowered to just under $500.00. I agreed to the price, but it was outrageous. Trip fee $95.00, $40.00 per cylinder keys were reasonable, but the labor for one hour was $190.00. What a ripoff.
