Brand-new location. They are not yet serving dinner, hours are temporarily 7am-3pm and they don't yet have a liquor license but the food and service were great! My wife had the roast turkey with gravy. She had to scrape all the gravy off, as it tasted like someone spilled a salt shaker in it. I had the Shepherd's pie. It was prepared in a way I've never seen before. It was basically a ground beef stew, with a very thin layer of mashed potatoes and cheese on top. It was served so hot that it was obviously microwaved for too long. Service was adequate. No personality at all for the server, like he didn't want to be there. Ambieance was okay. I can't express how pleased I am to see a Metro Diner pop up minutes from my house. It is conveniently located off Lumsden and Providence Rd. It wasn't busy at 8A on a Thursday so we snagged a booth. Lily was our server and she checked in often. I appreciated her humor and down to earth personality. I tried the Bacon Avocado Scramble Bowl and wasn't disappointed. Very cute and cozy diner that is fairly new to the Brandon area. Originally I thought this was a local business, but my friend from Virgina told me they have them in his city as well. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately but I had got an omelet. My friend had got pancakes (which he shared lol) and I remember them being super fluffy and delicious!! My husband and I were very happy when a new place to eat opened. We have been there three times and have always had to send something back. The wait staff were very apologetic. My husband got the ribs and they came out so overcooked there was no meat on the bones. Got a new one which was ok. I had the pot pie which was good. Second time I got the blueberry waffles with bananas and strawberries. Waffle was not hot and the bananas were mushy and brown. I sent the bananas back and they said that's all they had. Should never have been served that way and just said they were out and should have offered to put on a few extra strawberries. Third time I had the fish and chips. Fish was good but thin. The fries were overcooked. They did replace them with fresh ones. My husband enjoyed his burger. I don't think we will back. read more

Wanted to give this new location a try. Enjoyed their Tampa location but didn't want to drive all the way there from Riverview. Pleasantly surprised. The resturant was not busy on Friday evening. Good location with lots of parking. The menu options were good. My daughter selected the famous Chicken and waffles and was not disappointed.' The food arrives quickly and was seasoned well. it's our first time to try Metro diner. We heard about it from many people recommended but it's not the first impression when we walk in. I guess we walk in in the busy time. It's a 10 o'clock in the morning, but we waited there for a while until they seated us and then the waiting time begin ,Wait and wait. Still nobody come. Nobody noticed that we're here .I'm about to give up and walk out then one ladywalked in and gave us some drinks. Well now they knew we are here so we had couples ladies came to ask if we need anything to drink then waiting for awhile for an orders. My husband ordered a eggs, hashbrowns, and toast and aside and make sure that the side was not being charged for because it says the top line of my order was eggs and side, and they said that it was ambiguous because they said the side was the hashbrowns included in the original menu and the side that I ordered was an extra $3.99 which I specified I'm not paying extra for the site and they charge me for it so that's the bottom Line she couldn't understand. She couldn't understand the menu either. They need to retrain the waitresses. Or you have to tell the people know you have to pay for that extra side. But the way the waitress explained it totally different.The manager had to correct the bill. For my order, I ordered steak & scrambled bowl , not too bad but the steaks are too tuff to chew. We've eaten at the Brandon Metro Diner 3 times now. The first visit we enjoyed the meatloaf, the second visit the fish and chips were ok but fries too salty, last meal was disgusting ribs. They were dry like microwaved too death. Broccoli over cooked. Green beans tough and over cooked. Service was mediocre first time. Second time was wonderful! Last time the service was horrible! Server was more interested in his coworker than us. Forgot to bring half the pieces to our meals. Four of us were halfway through dinner before the fifth person was even served. Never asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything. The restaurant windows are filthy which as the sun shines through is not pleasing. While we like the genre of music they play, it's way too loud. We were on the fence about Metro but it's a goodbye from us after we paid $85 wasted on our last visit. read more

Our server made sure all of our food was to our expectations and gave prompt and excellent service. The place was packed and the food wash hot and fresh! First visit today and not disappointed. Had the Friday Fish Dinner-two good sized fish filets, French fries, and chose the cup of soup for our option. Soup today was broccoli cheese and it was great! Smooth, silky, cheesy with chunks of tender broccoli. Fish and fries were piping hot (as was the soup). Many diners were having fried chicken which looked delicious.
