Got a quote for bumper repair, and finally did it 6 mo later. To save money I purchased a prepainted bumper online. They happily accomodated this. Price 6 mo later didn't change. They found additional hidden damage and immediately sent photos and a supplemental quote. Easy to reach and discuss on phone. Once complete, they communicated professionally by phone and email. To my surprise, they also vacuumed and washed the car! Front office staff very helpful and well trained. PM who handled my job: same. I have been there with prior car and same positive experience. May 7, 2025 - I swear to god, everyone in Seattle is so ******* sensitive when it comes to anything car-related or anything at all (I grew up here, don't even play with me). Metro is the most no-nonsense direct shop in the area. I live in Los Angeles now, and the best shops here know about Metro (looking at you, Collision Consultants)... A lot of the Metro reviews are fake or from people who can't cope. Yes, an insurance claim sucks. Yes, there is a chance that StateFarm, AllState, Pemco, Safeco, etc, may not pay as fast as Hagerty or Chubb. Yes, they may want to use that recycled part without your approval... We've gone to Metro (I want to say) for 8 or 10 years. They are not as fast as some of the Los Angeles shops, but they are the best body shop in Seattle. They are excellent at what they do. Jules is a busy guy; give him a break. Car god needs space to tell insurance to pay up (funny how our insurance seems to expedite things and not play when we drop off here). The front desk team is on it. Communicate clearly and let them be. If you were hurt and you want to torture someone else, just go across the pond and try Bel-Red Auto Rebuild (ask for Challan Kershaw) or try a shop that has been in business for 43 years but is milking it now that they have this town's golden stamp of approval. Lots of complacent liars out there in the PNW Auto Body repair network, and Metro is not one of them. 35-day total repair time (slight mishap with a part delay), but overall incredible. OK, having car issues is a bad day but Metro Auto Rebuild knows how to turn lemons into lemonade. For decades they have repaired my cars after a disaster. The front office always deals with the insurance company to handle all the bills while the magicians Frankenstein my car back into perfect condition. Also in my times of stress they have arranged a rental car on the spot to drive while I'm without my automobile. From experience I would go to no other auto body repair shops, this is the place to take your high end autos to in there time of need. It has been a nightmare dealing with these people from the very beginning. Despite the fact that I have frequented this business since early 90's on 8 different occasions, I do not recommend them. The staff are rude and not responsive, they keep adding more work to the repairs, causing issues with my insurance company despite the fact they are well aware of the prior approval authorization requirements. For past 3 weeks my car was ready but caught up in the payment process, because these idiots cannot commit to any budget nor schedule. I got an appointment from early May for August 8th, and as of today October 21st still am car-less. The original estimate (granted was a lowball by GEICO) from $2,300 is now over $12,000 with zero time commitment from anyone there. Save yourself time and headache dealing with these guys, go to another body shop. read more

They worked with the insurance company on my behalf to ensure the highest quality repair was performed. They worked directly with mercedes to get parts. And when Geico pulled out of my rental car and gave me less than 1 day to find a plan B, they helped me out to secure a loaner. The team was professional, knowledgeable and the work on my car was top teir. I hope I never get into an accident again, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to call them. I called to speak about important regards about scheduling my appointment with him, he then told me that " he had didn't have time for a phone call with me" all while speaking to me as if was inept and continuously spoke over me. He then said he didn't trust my insurance to pay? (mind you I have safeco? I don't know even what that is about, very sketchy) Although the front desk staff were very nice! I'd like to give my praise to this company for NOT getting back to me after 4 weeks with an estimate for a new bumper/body kit on my BMW. When I took it to them to look at, "whoever" in the shop tore the bumper off and then half-assed it back on, then they gave the car back to me. When I called the dude (who shall remain nameless) out about the bumper laying half on/half off he said they had to do that in order to give an estimate. I then had to put the bumper back into place while he waltzed off and waved buh bye. When driving home the bumper nearly fell off and under the car which would have destroyed it. The cherry-on-top is after 4 weeks nobody took the time to even get back to me about the estimate. Well done, Metro read more

In early October 2022, a car in a grocery store parking lot backed into our Tesla 3, causing minor cosmetic damage to the left rear quarter panel. We contacted Metro Auto Rebuild, a certified Tesla body shop, to do the repair. The earliest repair appointment was January 24th 2023, nearly five months out. Since the car was operatable, we schedule the January appointment and patiently waited. We have two cars so being without the Tesla for a week while in for repair would not a major inconvenience unless it was not completed by the time I needed to take our remaining car on a trip, leaving my wife without transportation. My trip was scheduled to be a week after the date that Metro assured me that the repair would be completed, so the timing would seem to work out. Once Metro disassembled the car, they confirmed that no additional parts would be needed and the repair would be completed on schedule. As time progressed, I checked with Metro to confirm that they were on schedule and they said that they were. The deadline passed however and I needed to use our remaining car, which necessitated renting a car for my wife at our expense while I was away. It is my understanding and experience that my Tesla will lose charge every day when not plugged in. I also understand that if the charge goes to 0%, bad things can happen. Consequently, when I dropped off the car, I told the shop manager that I put my Tesla level 1 charging gear in the trunk and asked to get it fully charged prior to starting the repair and keep it charged while in the shop. He said that he was well aware of these issues and they have level 2 charging stations in the shop so my charging cord was not needed. I watched the charge level on the app while it was at Metro for repair and saw it steadily drop. I called Metro to alert them to the concern and was assured that they would charge the car. On Friday February 10th, 10 days after the originally scheduled completion date, with the battery at 0%, Metro said that the car was done and would be charged and ready for pick up on Monday February 13th. I reached out to them on the 13th and they said that the car would not take a charge so they dropped it off at the Tesla Service Center to resolution. I then called the Tesla Service Center to check the status and found that Metro had told them nothing about how the car came to be in a 0% battery condition. I suspect that the reason Metro did not reveal the circumstances is they hoped that the repair would be covered on Tesla warranty even though the problem seems to be caused by mistakes made in disassemble or reassembly, or charging neglect. I explained the situation to Tesla and they now knew where to start with diagnosing the problem. The car has now been at the Tesla service center for four days and there has been no progress. I hope to hear soon when they expect to resolve the issue. I certainly am optimistic that the body work repair will look good, but I would not take any car to Metro in the future because of their lack of transparency to be me and to Tesla, and their poor communication on body work repair progress and missed deadlines. read more

I had some dings and body damage on my Tesla Model 3. After contacting another shop on the Eastside and getting a quote for out-of-pocket work, not using insurance, it seemed a little bit high so I wanted to check around. They also wanted to charge me for using a credit card. That did not sit well with me. As someone who runs a small business, Credit card processing fees are a cost of doing business. Especially at an auto body shop. We called Metro and brought the vehicle in for a quote. I was absolutely and completely stunned when the quote was literally less than half of the one from Exotic Motors on the eastside. We are talking about over $12,000 there compared to about 5000 at Metro. Only in the labor cost and time estimated. I actually went over the quote three times and compared it to the other one just to make sure. We brought the vehicle in before leaving to be out of the country for a few weeks. They assured us it would be ready to go when we got back. They were absolutely no issues and it was ready to pick up just as promised. The work they did which is perhaps the most important thing to comment on was absolutely superb. I could not have been happier. If you have any Tesla body damage I highly recommend that you come here and avoid Exotic Motors. Excellent work, quality service, honest shop. I cannot ask for more! read more

My MBZ E63 AMG S wagon is Mystic Brown and a very difficult paint to match especially when you are painting metallic paint to plastic , it's almost impossible. That said, they nailed it. If you have MB or Porsche this is the place to go! They also painted my Porsche Carrera S cab perfectly. As a dentist you are always drawn instantly to any imperfection and I could find none.. I am thoroughly impressed by Metro and couldn't be happier with the work they did. I brought my Mercedes GLK in for repairs after getting into a fender bender. The entire front bumper and grille needed replacing, and they found hidden damage to the radiator and A/C assembly, so those ended up needing to be replaced as well. My estimator (Jules) was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and pragmatic. When he informed me about the hidden damage and additional repair costs associated with it, he offered me the chance to come down to the shop to see for myself. I asked him what he would do if it was his own car, and he made some recommendations that resulted in me editing out certain repairs -- because they weren't structurally important -- and saving myself nearly $1,000. (This is pretty significant when you're paying for body work out of your own pocket!) Metro sent me almost-daily updates via email with photos and full reports of the work being done, which was extremely reassuring. The work was completed within the original time frame they proposed (7-9 business days), even accounting for the additional repairs they needed to do, and my car was returned to me in absolutely perfect condition. The detailing was so thorough that it feels like a new car. A couple days after taking delivery of the car, I got a warning light to check my coolant. I took the car back in for a check up and the issue was taken care of right away, no questions asked and no bill. All their work is guaranteed. If I ever face the unfortunate circumstance of needing auto body repair work in the future, I'll be bringing my car back to Metro without a moment's hesitation. Thanks guys! read more

Having just worked with Metro Auto Rebuild on my car, I highly recommend you go anywhere else. Quality of work: 3/5 (they did what they said they would do) Timeliness: 0/5 (it took over a month when they promised a little over a week) Cost: 0/5 (they went $1000 over my estimate despite having things in the estimate that did not apply to me) So, back in the winter, I hit a concrete post, taking out a small part of my bumper. I wouldn't have even gotten it fixed, but my the wiper fluid container was affected, and my dealership said they wouldn't touch it until the body work was done. So I got a recommendation for Metro Auto Rebuild. I went for an estimate on February 29th. I opted not to go through insurance since I thought it was a small job, and it would make the process move faster. They gave me an estimate which included a lot of money in case they needed to move the car to the dealership to work on any sensors (the sensors were all fine) and gave me a date of April 9th to be able to drop the car off. They were busy, they said, so I needed to wait that long before they could fit me in. I figured since I was waiting that long, maybe that meant they would be a bit more efficient with getting my car in and out, especially since the work they needed to do was relatively minor. I dropped the car off on April 9th, and asked how long the repairs would take. I got back a shrug. I asked "a week?" They said "a week or maybe a little longer." 1 month later After dozens of emails and phone calls asking for updates on my car, and hundreds of dollars spent on Lyft when my partner and I couldn't arrange sharing her car, re-iterating that it was more important to be less expensive and faster, I was finally able to pick up my car. It looked fine. And it was $1000 above my estimate, with no explanation offered for why it cost so much more (my sensors were fine). This is despite me telling them to try and make things as cheap as possible, and as quickly as possible. So clearly they are much too busy, and they don't need your extra business. This place was the worst body shop experience I've ever had. I own a Tesla and there are limited places to choose from that are "authorized" Tesla repair locations. It was a ~3 month wait to get going on the repairs, but I called around and that was par for the course. When they finally got me in, it was bad service after bad service. They quoted me ~$2k and I was going to pay out of pocket for the damage. The minute they took my car apart the estimate doubled. When I got my car back it was 3x more expensive than the original quote. Pretty easy to pull bait and switch tactics when your client has limited options. In my opinion the price going up and long wait time to get in can be justified...The worst part is the were horrible about calling me back and giving me any updates and they kept my car for repairs for 6 weeks. I ran out of rental coverage they took so long. I would advise to avoid this place at all costs. read more

They repaired my Maserati rear bumper well last year, and I sought a new quote for a side impact this summer when someone pulled out into me. Good communication and quality work. However, they also are very delayed and have slow policies about getting estimates back and getting the work done. Last time, they kept the car over a month resulting in extra rental car charges to me. This time, they were also 3x the insurance estimate and not good at communicating with insurance to work it out and wouldn't schedule me in. As a result, I chose another faster and more accommodating shop. I would recommend them if only they were faster and had prompter service. read more

Unfortunately, our experience was ruined after our encounter with Maggie from accounts receivable. The absolute condescending, inappropriate, RUDE, attitude was unnecessary and beyond shocking. When we initially arrived, immediately she had a very confrontational attitude saying, "I don't know why Sean told you to pick up the car but the invoice is not ready yet." EXCUSE ME?! Why is that our problem!? She proceeded to roll her eyes and shake her head as she broke down the itemized amount. Again, with a very condescending and raised voice, she informed us she would be contacting us with the amount we still owed on our account. Best believe, I called her out for being rude by asking "is there a problem as we were simply told to pick up our car per Sean?" Maggi proceeded to lower her voice and apologized. I DON'T THINK SO MAGGIE, NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I'm actually SHOCK Metro Rebuild would employee this kind of individual. First and foremost, we payed OUT OF POCKET and at the very least, we deserve to be treated with respect. With MAGGI's inappropriate and disgusting attitude, there is NO WAY I would trust this woman with our funds. With her throwing her employees under the bus, and not having our invoice ready, I'm actually VERY CONCERNED with what she is capable of handling our funds. It's sad to say but her lack of care and tone to us almost seemed belittling and I can't help but think RACE played a part in this. Metro took incredible care of my Tesla Model Y. It was banged up on the front and the back. They have a very smart system for dealing with the uncertainties of Tesla parts shipping that keeps the process moving and gets you into your car faster. I really appreciate that you can get an estimate just by walking in, rather than scheduling an appointment weeks out. I went into this shop about a week ago in order to get a quote on the installation of an OEM carbon fiber spoiler on my M Sport package 535I BMW; which, all it takes, is placing 3M tape on one end, and placing the spoiler on the trunk...the end. Jules Cooper, the employee representative whom I was communicating with after bringing my vehicle in, quoted me the price of $330.00 plus tax, and a time window of four hours of labor. I responded to that quote, the fact that any reasonable person may clearly see that it objectively takes way less time to do the job. This shop/her response: "I really appreciate your input/feedback. We would not be able to do the repair for 2 hours. We have done many carbon fiber spoilers and are comfortable with the 4 hour window to remove the old spoiler, eraser wheel off old adhesive, and inch by inch install the adhesive kit so none spills out of gap, hold in place. Our work would be 4 hours. I encourage you to shop around and have repaired where you have confidence to have it done at a price you can feel good about." My response to this nonsense was me requesting when I may bring my vehicle in, to which I was never contacted again. I waited a week, and instead of waiting longer for a response, I ended up heading to Pacific Auto Body shop down the road, got an estimate of $94.00 for the same job, and I had to wait 40 minutes for that shop to complete the job, which was done professionally and with warranty. Moral of the story, I'll leave that up to your interpretation. This was my experience as a customer in this Metro shop, which is why I leave a one-star rating. read more

I have waited 6 months to write this review because, I didn't want emotion to guide the way. I had work done by this shop about 10 years ago and everything was perfect. Change is the only constant. Recently I had a run in with a metro bus. Low speed, a mistake, no injuries. I fought with Geico to have my truck repaired at Metro Auto Rebuild...I asked for it. The repairs took a very long time. My bedside panel replacement, not easy, should not have taken 6 months. I was fed line after line of, "supply chain issues" and the like. All BS from minute 1. I work in the automotive repair industry, at the beginning I gave them the benefit of the doubt but the pile grew. The day my truck was done, Metro Auto Rebuild presented Geico with a $5,000 supplement for aluminum welding. Geice denied the additional charges. I was then told that if I wanted my truck back I would have to pay the $5,000. I saw this fort what it was...a scam...a fraud. Conmen are looking for a payout quickly and when Geico and I refused, they decided to, "let me off the hook for the $5k". That's a first. I paid my deductible and was on my way. I was ignored by staff and management. There wasn't a review of work completed. I was treated like the guilty party. The work completed... orange peel on all newly painted panels. Its quite a contrast to the factory panels. Orange peel after 6 months of work. Shame The real kick in the pants is that they didn't do a single aluminum weld. My new bedside is riveted and glued on. Factory side is welded. After a couple of months I had a rear axle noise. Turns out that during the 3 day alignment, yes they told me it was for the rear axle,they overlooked the bent rear axle. The rear axle was bent in the collision causing me to get about 3,000 miles per axle bearing. The claim has been closed and I am on the hook for a $4,000 axle. For 10 years I sent anyone who asked about bodywork to Metro Auto Rebuild. I told them it wouldn't be cheap but the work would be the best. I only hope they didn't have an experience like this. I am happy to have this experience behind me. It's a shame to see good businesses go so wrong. LIES. SUBPAR WORKMANSHIP, FRAUDULENT BILLING, MAJOR ISSUES OVERLOOKED AND CORNERS CUT. Poor communication of when the repair will be done. Reception was indifference and rather irritating when I called asking for the estimated completion time. She kept telling me someone would call but no one did till after I followed up a couple of times. The completion date was pushed from Friday to following Monday and finally completed a day after. It's rather challenging to plan my day-to-day activities without knowing when I would get my vehicle back. Basic customer service is seriously lacking. The shop manager is great and workmanship of the repair seems fine. With a better training of receptionist and front office staff, I believe this auto body shop could potentially be a Seattle premier repair shop. read more

First of all, the customer service is terrible. Front desk is almost always rude and they almost never return your phone calls. I even witnessed a staff member being rude to a customer while they were picking up their vehicle. Second, they forgot to fix an issue with the vehicle and said they would discount the bill for the error and never did. Lesson learned, get something in writing! And last but not least, don't take your vehicle for repairs at Metro if you want to leave it there for weeks and never hear an update on your vehicle! read more

I'm new in town and unfortunately got into a fender bender as a welcome gift. I searched for BMW certified repair centers in Seattle and Metro happened to be right next to Seattle BMW. I had my car towed to Metro and Sean called me to let me know it was in their possession. This was my first accident I've ever been in and Sean guided me throughout the entire process. He worked with my insurance and let me know as soon as they approved all OEM replacement parts. He would call to provide updates and estimates on the next steps along the repair process. He emailed me the list of all the work being done at the shop and let me know what would be going back to the dealer to get repaired. We identified some damage to my vehicle that wasn't covered by insurance and Sean worked with me on pricing so I could get that taken care of as well. With the damage my car sustained I was uneasy and unsure that the car would ever drive the same again. I am happy to report though that it is even better than new. The people there really do quality work and pay close attention to detail. Even after I took my car back, Sean let me know that if I found anything that wasn't right to give him a call. It's nice to see a company stand behind their work even after they have collected their check. read more

This could've been a 5-star review, but it isn't. Here's why: Sean estimated the repairs to the right door panels of my 2015 Tesla S would require 4 weeks; 28 days. I signed a contract, paid 1/3 the cost, then dropped off my car once all the parts arrived. 27 days later I called to ask if my Tesla would be ready as scheduled. "No," I was told. "Why?" I asked. "Because we didn't realize we needed several parts." Oh, and by the way, the repair will be longer and costlier. (On my dime, not insurance.) At this point I was stuck with no choice but agree to the overage. Is it too much to expect a certified Tesla repair shop to know what parts are needed to repair dented door panels? The delay grew longer and longer because of repetitive "we didn't realize we needed this," or "that" excuses. One error after another for 58 days; 100% longer and 25% more expensive than originally estimated. In all fairness, the body work was excellent, but the time and cost estimates were amazingly off coming from a certified Tesla body shop read more

Metro Auto Rebuild did an excellent job repairing my '16 M4 after an accident that required replacement of the front bumper and a fender. The special order Mexico Blue paint was matched very well and it's almost impossible to tell any part of the car is non-original. The best part of working with Metro Auto Rebuild was the consistently exceptional service from Sean Keyser who always kept me up to date on the status of my car. Hello guys, I must say this place is one stop for all the Merc/luxury car owners at least. I own a merc c 300 and I love my car like crazy. I didn't even have a minor scratch until today. I was parking the car in reverse and my car being lower got stuck in the curb. When i move it forward, my bumper came out from left side. I went to metro auto build to get an estimate today itself and Medhanie assisted me with that. The guy is just amazing!! Honestly, my car didnt have much work to do, he just fixed it on the spot. I will say they appear to have done good work, and the estimator was kind during the appraisal. Without this, I would give them a one star rating. The front desk was generally unpleasant and unhelpful. The main reason for the rating is incredibly poor communication and lack of updates. I understand the time for repair is an estimate. By the end of the 18 initially quoted days, I made 2 phone calls and sent a respectful email before I received a response saying there were delays. To be fair, it was the holidays and there was some snow. I can give them the benefit of the doubt and say they experienced supply chain issues as a result of the pandemic. I asked for some estimate of time to complete as I needed to make alternate arrangements (no loaner car, this was one month after dropping off). I ended up making alternative arrangements (that cost me $800) without waiting to hear back. Did not receive updates with any sense of timing until one month later, and then received two updates about two weeks apart. In the end, the work took well over 3 months for work that was estimated at 18 days. I understand the policy to only allow a certain amount charged to a credit card to avoid fees on their end, but given I was patient for 3 months, never unpleasant with them, and they didn't give me a loaner or rides to and from their shop, I would have appreciated them being willing to flex on that policy. read more
