Came here based on the good reviews. Scheduled a date weeks in advance, but when I came in on appt date/time, didn't seem like they had me in their calendar. Dropped off car to get my horn fixed, waited 4-5 hours and they called saying my brake pads needed fixing also. I don't know how they ended up looking that up as I came in for my horn. Told me it required an overnight stay and would be fixed next day. Came back next day and both issues fixed in the time promised. Was told of the pricing and paid it, but the bill wasn't itemized and didn't explain what each part/labor was priced for. Just numbers on the invoice, this is very vague for someone who doesn't work in auto industry. Could of been any random numbers they written down, but I'm taking they are a honest business. Wasn't too welcomed, actually felt more like I was bothering them. Totally different then what I was expecting. But hey they fixed the horn and I'm assuming my brake pads were fixed. I guess you can't expect more than that when it comes to mechanics. read more

I hit Delridge Auto Repair with a challenge. I have a '95 Honda del Sol that I bought from somebody who had been restoring it, but hadn't been able to complete the work. So, it has a fair number of non-standard performance upgrades. But it didn't have air conditioning. I have another del Sol with a blown engine that DID have A/C. So I swapped the A/C system into the '95. Then I needed a shop to charge it. This is, frankly, a terrible situation for a repair shop. They have to come up with an estimate for repair after two different amateurs have worked on it. All KINDS of things could be screwed up. But they took the job, gave me a schedule (just a couple days to get to it), and had things mostly squared around when I came back. The mechanic showed me that the compressor and evaporator fan were working when they were triggered, but the system would not actually engage when the A/C button was pressed on the panel. That was going to take more time to diagnose. I said I was willing to try to figure it out myself, paid the bill, and took my car home. The following week it took me about 3.5 hours to find the little connector inside the car that I hadn't plugged in to a sensor. Once I had that hooked up, everything worked great. I really appreciate this shop's willingness to do just part of the work, and trusting me to finish the work on my own without blaming them when things didn't work. I will definitely be going back there next time I need work done on my car. read more

I came in to Delridge with 2 issues. 1. Error code for incorrect purge flow 2. Had a problem putting the car into gear in the. morning. I explained how I know there was a transmission leak and I would like to get the leak fixed, and the purge valve fixed if that is the problem. I picked up the car today and paid for my repair. Paid my bill, but was worried and told him I would be back if its not fixed. I have a new code saying there's a problem with master cylinder 4 and my car is not safe to drive. This is literally WORST CASE SCENARIO. I called and the tech immediately started being defensive and saying that it was fine when he drove it. It really sucks this happened. I was so careful and explained everything to the mechanic. I told him how I was at school and did not have a lot of money so it was really important that we repair the right thing the first time. I hope they make it right and receive a 5 star review from me, and I can continue to recommend this shop to my friends and customers. read more

My 2002 Chevy Caviler was having trouble starting. Tony tried to diagnose the car, but had no luck, so he suggested that I toe the vehicle to a Chevy expert he knew. It took a week to get the car back and it broke down again a day later. It was an uncommon electrical problem and Tony was very respectable about giving me a full refund on the transaction. I called for a diagnostic because my mini cooper was making a grinding noise. Tony said his first open spot was in 3 days. I said I had been trying to go out of town and he made time for me the next morning. He spent 30 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong with my car and in the end gave me his best thoughts (drive belt), but acknowledged he was not the right person to work on my car and that it needed a german car expert. He also told me how much he thought the part and work should cost so I would know at the next shop what to expect. It is so rare these days that a mechanic 1. takes the time to explain the work and expected cost on your car 2. does not try to over sell you/take advantage.
