We had a leak outside at our shutoff valve. I assumed that it was the actual valve leaking, so I called Riddell Plumbing. The could not get out to our house for 3 days. Decided to try Mesquite Plumbing/Mr. Rooter. We stayed home and waited for them to arrive. Late in the day they rescheduled for the next day. When they eventually arrived, the plumber looked at it and said that he would sour up an estimate. Thirty minutes later he presented the estimate for $1500 and another for $5000 to replace a non-leaking line by the street because the copper was "Green". Coincidentally, we just had that line replaced by Riddell for only $400, just 3 months ago when the city replaced our meter. I told the Mr. Rooter representative this and he told me that they do "by the Job" pricing vs. by the hour and that is why it cost so much. I paid him the $65 "service call charge" and sent him on his way. I then dug up the area around the valve and found a very small leak at one of the copper pipe junctions. Less than a half hour to fix for any decent plumber. I would literally be ashamed to operate a business in this type of predatory manner. If I didn't know something about plumbing, I would have been totally ripped off. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I've used Mesquite Plumbing years ago and was pleased with their work so I called them to repair a gas main that someone drove over. I called a little before 8 am on a Monday and left a message. At 9:30 no one had returned my call so I called them. The dispatcher told me they wouldn't be able to get to it until the next day. I took the day off so I could be there for the 10-2 appt they provided me. At 12:30 the dispatcher called to tell me they were running late and they might not get to me today. I explained that I took the whole day off so I could meet them. He said he would get someone out as soon as he could. Two plumbers showed up at 5:18 pm. I told them I'm using another plumber. Horrible scheduling. Horrible service. The do have a fancy new email/text service now. Apparently this new and "improved" Mesquite thinks technology is more important than actual service. read more

We just moved into our house about a month ago and noticed a strong smell every time we used the kitchen sink. We tried home remedies, special cleaner, etc. but the smell persisted. We finally called our home warranty provider yesterday, and they sent out a plumber this morning. He spent all of 6 minutes in our home and said the problem was just the garbage disposal, so we should try baking soda and vinegar -- despite the fact that we told him we'd already tried that several times, with no improvement. Enter Mesquite Plumbing. They'd worked on this house before we moved in, as part of our plan to move the AC unit to the attic. Since we'd been pleased with their work, we decided to call them again after the disappointing exchange with the first plumber. Mesquite Plumbing said they had an opening tomorrow, then called back a few minutes later and said they could squeeze us in today. Fantastic! Jimmy took a look at the plumbing under the sink and within SECONDS told us we were missing the P trap, which was causing the smell. In no time, he'd installed the missing part, and voila! No more stinky smell. Jimmy was knowledgeable and worked quickly to fix the problem. We are so pleased with the quality of their work and will absolutely use Mesquite Plumbing again! read more

I wanted to express how very pleased I am with the extensive repair work that two of Mesquite's marvelous plumbers, LARRY and RICHARD, completed at my home today! First, they arrived right on time and were very congenial and professional. Larry patiently explained every step of the repair process, so I thoroughly understood what the work entailed. Richard was also very helpful during the entire process. They even let me know before they started jack hammering the slab, to expect it to get noisy! Larry and Richard walked me through each step of the post repair hydrostatic test, telling me exactly what they were performing so that I felt confident that the leak had been successfully repaired. They meticulously covered the furniture, etc., in the bedroom where the repair work took place and made sure my hard wood floor was totally protected all the way from the front door to the bedroom. The after-repair clean-up was very thorough. I would be remiss if I did not also mention how professional MIKE STEVENS was when he earlier performed the leak locate test, making certain I could follow each step of the testing process as it progressed. And, he explained the test and visually showed me on his laptop where the leak was in the bathtub plumbing pipes. And, last but not least, WAYNE in the office was very efficient in properly scheduling the house calls for all the work done! read more

Called Mesquite plumbing for a broken pipe under my kitchen sink. The call was very professional and educational. They scheduled something for the next day. The technician called me about 20 minutes before they arrived as promised. The technicians were Fransisco and Eduardo. They were so nice and knowledgeable. I asked if they could also replace my garbage disposal because it is also broke but I didn't know if it was in my budget. Turns out it was and they had one with them so they did that too. Very fast work so I didn't have to pay more than necessary since they work by the hour. They were very clean also. It's like they were never here. Great job guys. Will call for any future work. Billy and Allen arrived at my house to replace a showerhead and were in and out in less than 25 minutes. Both of these men were polite and professional. They took great care to wear booties over their shoes prior to entering my house and laid down towels underneath their ladder while working in my shower. This company is unbelievably unprofessional. They arrived at our home over an hour late. Then after realizing they had the wrong part, they had me wait while they went to their warehouse for the correct one. Another hour later, the plumber returned only to tell me the warehouse did not have the necessary part. The dispatcher, Gary, assured me the part would be overnighted to them, that he would be at the shop at 10:00 A.M. waiting for the delivery, and that he would call when he was on his way to our home to make the repair the next morning. Gary never called. I tried calling him and left a message. He would not answer and did not return my calls. Four days later, our issue is still unresolved and we are contacting a different plumber for the job. There were other issues, too. For example, the quoted cost of the job turned out to be the price of only the parts - no labor costs were included. Our final bill would have been much higher than the quote, and Mesquite Plumbing only got the job because of their low price quote. The two plumbers that arrived were very friendly, but overall I am completely disappointed with my experience with Mesquite Plumbing. They did not respect my time. They did not contact me when they said they would. I will never use them again, and I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

Overall, I am very disappointed with the professionalism of this company as a whole. While I will admit that I was pleased with the speed of the response time of the plumber and the job that he completed in my home, I was not pleased with their service in general. I was given a quote over the phone, and, after the work was completed I was totally blindsided with an additional $50 charge that was never mentioned to me over the phone. Apparently, if a helper is used, then an additional $50 will be added on to the final bill. This was never explained to me, and I am quite sure that factor would have played into my decision to use this company. The plumber charged me for an additional 15 minutes of labor that was spent in his van writing up my bill, and at $110 an hour, that is a significant charge. I was also extremely disappointed by the fact that the plumber broke a statue in my yard and did not have the decency to tell me about, what I have no doubt, was an accident. Including the damage to my property, the additional $50 charge, and the additional $27.50 that I was charged while my bill was written, I was out about $200-$300 in addition to the $272.50 I paid the company for services. I contacted the company about these issues that I had with their service, and the calls were never returned. Many issues can be resolved via conversation, and it is evident that the people from Mesquite Plumbing are not interested in providing good customer service or correcting issues when they arise. I will never use their service again, nor will I recommend them to my friends or family. read more

I would not recommend calling this business. I called them 4 days in advance for a morning appointment. The morning of my appointment, no one ever showed up. I called the office and they said they would have the technician call me. An hour later, I still didn't hear from anyone. I again tried calling the office but this time, no one answered the phone. I had to leave a message to cancel my appointment because I could no longer wait around for them. I already had to take off work for the appointment that I made. I never heard from anyone. They took advantage of me. I have used this company several times in the past and had good service at a fair price. I recently needed a water heater installed (I had a new water heater). I requested a time between 10:30 am and 4:00 pm, which I thought they agreed to. They showed up a little after 8:00 am. My daughter was home. The first thing they asked her was if she had an estimate from anyone else. She said no. Unknown to her was that I had installation estimates of $410 and $579, which I thought were unreasonable. They told her it would be a little over $1000 for installation. They were not finished when I got home and I asked them to explain their costs: $650 basic installation, $365 for a shut off valve ($110 real cost on Amazon, the one I had was in working condition) and $100 for a permit (actual cost $40). They gave me a revised price of $740. Lesson learned: Don't trust even previously trusted companies. read more
