I literally found the paper receipt inside my cheeseburger -- bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, paper receipt, burger patty, bun. Absolutely disgusting. On top of that, the food was not brought out at the same time. Some items came almost 2 hours later, and when the food finally arrived, it still was not good. Very disappointing experience. I will never return. The food that came out was cold. My sister had a steak  and her side she ordered a loaded baked potato l. Cold steak came out first then 2hours later she got her loaded baked potato. My Aunt ordered a bourbon maple chicken entree that came with mashed sweet potatoes and she got a grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes.  My mom and cousin ordered the chicken Alfredo. My cousin chicken appeared to be crusted my mom's was a grilled chicken breast. - inconsistent Just very disappointed and sad Rewrite  Worst experience ever. Ordered the prime rib medium rare, this evening. First of all the prime rib came out rare, which was returned. Secondly, the 2nd one was delivered well done. I came to find out the manager brought it out to me, it was so well done the fat on the edges were rolled over. Thirdly, the last one (third one) was close enough. After we paid the bill I requested to talk to the manager. As soon as I started explaining she cut me off, had to say let me finish please. Hands went on her hips and attitude came out! Her explanation was it was temp checked. Sure pick the only spot that had any red to it and temp checked it!! Needless to say the waitstaff were great management is lacking, wrong profession for that attitude! We will not be returning! read more

We went on May 16th 2025... started out our water glasses on the table were dirty with lip stick stains and that was before water. Some of the app plates were dirty. Order a drink from the bar it had lipstick stains had to send back. The guys went to the bathroom and said they were disgusting. Got food before salad. Limited menu. The 3 of us landed in Nashville & drove 3 hours to Memphis to start our Tennessee visit and we all craved steak! After a bit of study & debate we chose Mesquite Chop House. The surroundings are dark wood floors, red leather booth seating, classic chandeliers & high tin ceilings overhead. Very much a cool prohibition vibe. I started with a Manhattan. Easy choice since they age their own bitters. Delicious! My wife had an espresso martini that she loved (I found it a bit too sweet). My son & I ordered 16 ounce mid rare ribeyes. My wife had the 8 oz filet mignon. All steaks are flame broiled & served with garlic mashed potatoes (changing the side is a $3 charge at the time of this writing). We also ordered 2 Caesar salads. The Caesars was excellent but the croutons were not top notch. The steaks were cooked & seasoned perfectly. Nice sears & allowed to rest before service. Just like home! The mashed potatoes were abundantly seasoned with salt & pepper with an addictive character. I switched my side to the mushrooms & burgundy sauce which complimented the steak and potatoes as I'd hoped. We liberally used the rich mushroom sauce/gravy for steak dipping. We concluded our meal with a slice of shared chocolate cake which hit the collective spot but not much better than average & was served too cold in my opinion. It was a very interesting experience. We had a reservation in the evening. After we were seated, we were told that they are closed. After finding out that we actually had a reservation, they were kind enough to serve us. We offered to go somewhere else. We ordered an appetizer and ribeyes. We ordered medium rare. When the waitress brought the steak to us, it was mooing. It looks like it had never seen the sun before. My friend, the waitress and I were shooketh. We came in here for a late bday dinner. Our reservations were for 9pm, which we were on time. We all ordered various entrees, various Temps. Our server was an eccentric human, a very strange man. They spent 20mins looking up directions on making me a drink. Yeah and guess what? It wasn't good. Lol Ww also spent a great deal of time discussing what they had run out of on the menu. When our meals came out they were all mixed up as to who had what. I ordered a ribeye med rare, I believe I was served a NY Strip, because the cut was tough like 1 to me. I didn't like my food. The others said their meals were ok, some enjoyed more than others. All of our steak temps were off, a few ppl sent their steaks back. We have lived down the street for almost a year and noticed that the restaurant was slowly re-opening, so we popped in with no expectations. Instantly were greeted warmly with the most fantastic staff and environment. Weren't looking for anything heavy so opted to just grab burgers - ended up being one of the best burgers I have ever had. I've been in Memphis for just over a year and this was hands down the best meal I've eaten. We started with the spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious. Fresh ingredients and large portion with fresh tortilla chips. The duck... Oh damn was that good. I had been craving duck for a while and this went way above what I was expecting. As for the service, the bartender/waitress we had was so sweet and attentive and made some really good drinks. Don't let the outside scare you away. They are undergoing renovations but are open and cranking out some of the best food in Memphis. read more

Overall this place is right in the middle. The food was good and they perfectly cooked all of our steaks but the service was poor. We had a group of 7 and it took a while to have anyone come over for drinks, then they took a while to come out. When we ordered our food there was a mix up on the salad and instead of fixing it the waiter just kept telling us we were wrong. We asked for more bread which never came out which I know sometimes happens but there was a significant delay in getting our entrees. Once we got our entrees they were not, perfectly cooked, seasoned and overall well executed. Unfortunately just hard for me to want to go back because of everything else. read more

Went here for dinner the day before valentines. Area wasn't busy at all. We parked on the street at the front door. Decor is decent. Booth and table seating. We had the chocolate eruption then steak and chicken pasta. The cake was very good. Food was mid. Husband said the steak tastes like it was created in a lab. The asparagus was yellowing but ok to eat I guess. My pasta portion was large so he filled up on my dish. We left our debit card there and tracked it down days later. They had it safe for us. Based on reviews, we decided to try Mesquite Chophouse in downtown Memphis. Parking can be a problem, but fortunately there is a parking garage directly across the street from the restaurant. We were a bit disappointed that the menu available was less then what we reviewed on their website. For entrees, we selected Grilled Salmon over a Caesar Salad and Fettucine Alfredo topped with Blackened Chicken. KUDOS to the chef, the salmon was well seasoned, moist, and full of flavor. Likewise, the blackened chicken had a superb crusting of seasoning, moist, and tender. Zachary, our Server, was friendly and attentive. Our waitress/bartender Ashley was AMAZING!!!!! She recommended the Red Snapper to my wife, which she ABSOLUTELY loved! It was a very nice size portion of snapper, risotto, and mixed vegetables. It was a very disappointing experience for a $370-dollar family meal! The Food was horribly prepared. The steaks were warmish at best. They were either overcooked or undercooked. Lobster Claw Byscane sauce was watery and had no lobster. Burgandy mushrooms were canned mushrooms heated in a very sweet and sour so-called "burgundy" sauce which was disappointing in flavor. The Ceaser salad dressing was closer to Thousand Island dressing and the salad was drowning in it. The bread and honey butter was good. The crab cakes were small in size and were kept under a heat lamp for almost 30 minutes while they were preparing the steaks instead of making them towards the end when steaks were closer to be done cooking, I know that because I saw them sitting under the heat lamp and that was at least 25 minutes before they were served with the rest of the food as requested. The lobster queso dip was extremely salty! The sauce of the lobster mac and cheese was watery and I mean literally dripped like runny liquid from the spoon/fork. Service was good, though the place was severely understaffed. Our server was basically running the bar and busing and serving. The place was empty! This should have been an indicator, there were two tables with people on it in the whole place. I would not recommend this place especially for the prices. read more

Ordered a $42 ribeye that'd cost ~$12 at Whole Foods. Asked for medium rare and received a paper thin steak that was cooked medium on one side and well-done on the other. The steak didn't included sides, so I ordered asparagus that was not trimmed and a Caesar salad that was drowned in dressing. Total cost of my meal was $62 w/o drinks. My GF ordered the salmon, which was the only item we ordered that was cooked as expected. I'm not trying to be a harsh critic, but when you're paying a premium for food, you expect it to be cooked to correctly. I just drove here from Los Angeles and I got a better steak in Elk City, OK for $12 that included a baked potato and a proper salad. read more

Do not go here. Horrible food. I ordered a $40 ribeye steak, asking for it medium well, but it came out medium rare and bloody. I sent it back, but when it returned, it was still pink and bloody. Here for the Farm and Gin show. Looking for a upscale steakhouse. The services was good but my steak was very tough. I ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare. It was seasoned well but from the first cut from the steak knife it was like cutting into a piece of leather. My guest ordered the ribeye without the bone. His was tender and easy too cut. I even gave him a piece of my steak. He could hardly chew it. I even asked the waitress to get me another knife. I ended up using my pocket knife to cut my steak. The table service came by and I told them my steak was tough. I finally finished the tough steak was not going to waste $55.00. One of the kitchen managers cleared our table. I told him that my steak was tough. He acted surprised and asked why I did not mentioned to our waitress. I told him that I did. He then wanted to give me a free dessert. Hugely disappointed... massively over-salted to the extent it was inedible... also the steaks had no sear, grey, undercooked the first time... we sent it back but it came back tasting like it had been dipped in salt.
