Went to Mesh for a friends birthday, and it coincided with Devour. So had to try the menu. The mesh salad had a nice light vinaigrette, golden beets, goat cheese, quinoa. Over the weekend I was going to a musical at the Old National Centre and decided to do brunch before the musical. I decided to go to Mesh. I had perused the menu prior to going so I knew what I wanted. This is a Cunningham group restaurant and I always get excellent service when I go in one of their places. The other thing great about it is if you have a VIP card you can get $100 gift card once you spend $1000. I ordered a cocktail to start my day and it was called Sweater Weather and it was fitting it was twenty degrees out and I decided to walk down from Old National Centre. Probably not the best idea I have ever had. The drink was good it had Woodford Reserve, lemon, maple syrup, and molasses bitters. For my brunch I ordered the beet salad, the lobster bisque, and the Cuban sandwich. All of the food was quite good. I am going to say my favorite was the beet salad it was absolutely delicious, it had candied walnuts, berries such as strawberries and blueberries, garlic honey vinaigrette, and frisee. I ate every bite and could have had another! The lobster bisque was good there were small pieces of lobster in it but I have had better. The Cuban sandwich was a lot to eat and it came with sweet potato chips on the side and they were so crispy! I took half of this sandwich home for the husband. Completely unsure of how I have not been here until this past weekend! M and I decided to go have brunch here while shopping around downtown and boy am I glad we stopped in! Our server, Emily, was a great server and very attentive to our needs -- KUDOS! We started with the Breakfast Biscuits which came with biscuits, gravy, candied bacon, honey butter, and jam -- YUM!!! This was honestly a great starter, the gravy was probably the top 5 I have ever had! M ordered the Lobster Bisque which was great and had lots of lobster in it! Cannot say enough about the food and service from Cameron and his girlfriend, and also the host who was kind enough to get us in with our late arrival. We had drove from Appleton, Wisconsin to Indianapolis for the eclipse, and we had left at 11:00am (normally the trip is 5 hours) but due to traffic we did not arrive at the hotel until 8:35pm (already over an hour late for our RSVP). We were seated near the bar at a table for two. The environment was modern yet cozy at the same time. Cameron promptly greeted us and got us water and menus. He was very polite given we had just gotten seated at 9:10pm. He gladly went through all of the wine options with me and was extremely knowledgeable about the selections even describing the vineyards in Napa Valley where the Riesling I had chosen was from. We had ordered the calamari appetizer to start and it was phenomenal. Breading was light and the Kung Pao sauce was sweet, tangy, and not overbearing whatsoever. For entrees we had ordered the Brussel spouts, Scallops, and Crab cakes. All of the entrees came out perfectly prepared. The sear on the scallops was spot on, along with the risotto. Crab cakes were definitely not lacking in crab. They prepared them with what seemed like the least amount of breading I have seen in a crab cake, and they were absolutely mouth-watering. Lastly my now fiancé absolutely adored her Brussels sprouts. The wine selection definitely is not lacking whatsoever. Many options to choose from for picky pallets. and to top it off the creme brûlée was the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful dinner. 10/10 highly recommend going just for the customer service alone. Came here on my lunch break to enjoy the nice weather and I had really been craving a steak. I'm a Cunningham member so that was another reason why I opted to enjoy lunch here. I was greeted and seated quickly. I already knew what I wanted, the 8 oz skirt steak with garlic aioli. I was a tad disappointed that the sides options for lunch were very minimal. I was hoping to get some seasonal veggies or just something green. So I got fruit which looked fresh. My food came out. I asked for my steak to be medium. As you can from the pink there's minimal pink. And while my server was great, there was not a follow through on if the temperature of my steak was correct. I had a few bites and it simply lacked flavor. Like even basic flavor of salt and or pepper. Quality steak, unfortunately bland. I asked for a steak sauce or chimichurri, they had neither. However, my server brought out a chipotle vinaigrette I believe that was pretty tasty. My daughter and I visited Saturday afternoon hoping to grab lunch. Unfortunately, they were only serving their brunch menu, which was not clearly shown on their website (which I visited prior to our visit). Mesh is a really nice spot that takes traditional entrees and amalgamates (Mesh's) them with similar entrees from other restaurants. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and the wife ordered the Breakfast burger The Cuban is a ham and pork sandwich with Gruyere and aioli on Torta bread. The flavors of the ham and the marinated pork worked well together.traditional Cubans tend to be a little dry. This sandwich was good and juicy. The Breakfast burger could well be called the "brunch burger." Complete with caramelized onions, white cheddar, fried egg, bacon on a Brioche bun. This could be enjoyed anytime of the day. It had been a long time since we had dined at Mesh on Mass. Years ago it had been one of our favorites but had fallen out of grace because of service issues. This visit was one of our Devour Indy choices. The kitchen did an excellent job in preparation of the selections made. My wife decided on the filet which was very tender and prepared just right. That's difficult to accomplish when ordering "medium well". Her salad was as tasty as it was beautiful. I had corn chowder which was hot and creamy with plenty of veggies and rich creamy broth. I selected the Amish Chicken dish which was very flavorful with the right amount of blue cheese blended in the sauce over the breast. The service still remains at no more than adequate. Our server did not smile at all and probably because she was stressed over serving so many large tables at the same time. They weren't too busy which was nice, however service was slower than normal, that said very friendly and food came out hot and delicious. The Hunter's Stew and lobster bisque hit the spot, Benedict has a lot of ham, eggs were perfectly poached. The chorizo omelette was great. Lamb meatballs were good, Brussels au gratin was a bit salty, but good flavor. The blackened chicken sandwich and the breakfast burger was very good. Mesh is our go to fancy dinner, celebration restaurant. Most recently we went during covid, and I was very pleased with the experience. Everything was spread out, the staff was wearing masks, and we felt very safe. We always start with a bottle of wine (half price on Sundays) and a cheese board. The cheese board is always different depending on what they have in the kitchen at that time, but we hav sliced it every time. Be sure to ask for it with extra bread, however, to make sure you have enough for all your meats and cheeses! We have never gotten a bad entree from here, and we always end up too full for dessert (which means they did a good job with the appetizers and entrees). My boyfriend had the New York Strip (medium,for a medium-rare temp) and he loved it. The menus are seasonal, so be aware that things will be fresh and new if you come throughout the year. With a fall menu released on 9/15, we recommend to start with the Kung pao calamari & tomato burrata, then a lobster bisque went over well. We settled on Salmon or Halibut fish meals, as well as the lamb rack or ribeye meat meals. The desserts of choice were chocolate raspberry truffle ice cream, carmelized pear crème brulee, and chocolate stout terrine. I do not eat lobster often but man, this made me want to! It's a small bowl with a lot of flavor and every bite seemed to have some buttery lobster in it! My peers were telling me to slow down as I neared the bottom of the bowl but I couldn't help it, it was so good! For my entree I got the salmon with couscous and it was amazing! Such good flavors and literally falling apart as it was so moist, Cooked to perfection! For dessert I chose the chocolate (brownie like) mini bar with chocolate ice cream and it was the perfect compliment to a delicious meal! Shout out to Sarah our server as she was amazing! She literally described everything we asked her about so well that we wanted some of everything! She was so attentive and friendly! I've had Mesh on my list for a while now, so I was excited when I was invited on a group outing that ended in Brunch at Mesh. I had the brussel sprouts and the burger. I loved the sweet potato chips that came with the burger, but I was not expecting the brussel sprouts to come out as a creamy, cheesy dip. Maybe I didn't read the description very well. There was a large group of us and our reservation was at 2:30, which is typically a slow time for most restaurants. So while I will say that our service was not up to par with what I expected from Mesh, it wasn't a surprise to someone with a food service background. I've never had too much food off the menu, but I'm certainly glad I did. I got me a mimosa to drink and my girl got Prosecco. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and I tell you! Sooooooo satisfying. I normally go to places and their chicken is usually a thick chicken breast and I don't particularly think it goes well with waffles. But Mesh had perfectly chicken pieces that actually sandwiched with the waffles like filets almost. Fried and crispy texture. Not hard or tough, juicy and crunchy. The hot sauce sweet syrup added a perfect grouping to the layers of the waffles and chicken. I legit got full halfway through but definitely wanted to eat til I exploded lol. Both of my visits to Mesh have been stellar. The food, the service, the setting... it's all great. The staff is well trained. The team in the kitchen operates efficiently. We never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a seat or for service. The food is excellent. The menu is varied enough for many tastes, and reasonably priced. I was particularly impressed with the lobster bisque. On both visits, steak was perfect as well. Seating is comfortable, and the place is spacious enough to get around without falling over other patrons, or feel like you're seated at their table. This was my first visit to the restaurant and this area of Indianapolis. We came for a group dinner of eight to celebrate a friends birthday during Covid. Parking in this area is very challenging as the streets have been closed down and there are little to no parking garage is available. Please expect to pay for parking. We of course had to make reservations considering our party size and we had a great table and a great corner of the restaurant. The table did not seem as though they were socially distant but there is definitely enough space as the layout and size allows. There is also outdoor seating available. We came during their version of restaurant week which was great. Although the menu is limited for that specific offer the dishes were still the same portion size and the pricing was much more friendly. The food it's self is very tasty has some complex flavors and exactly as it is described on the menu. We were doing a lot of sharing and a lot of taste testing of other plates. Our server was very patient with us thank goodness because a lot of us were quite indecisive as it was our first time and the menu is very extensive which is good. 7 years since my last review of Mesh?! Oh my...definitely time for an update! The food here has always been fabulous, and I was so happy to find that nothing about that has changed. This was my first trip back here in way too long and it was so hard to decide what to order, but I ended up going with the halibut and was not disappointed. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. The sauce didn't overpower it, and the vegetables that accompanied it were excellent. The cocktail list was also filled with a lot of tempting choices and our server was helpful in pointing us in the direction of what we each might like. I enjoyed mine which was an Old Fashioned inspired cocktail. The atmosphere is classy and quiet enough for easy conversation, which was perfect for our work dinner. Our server was friendly, attentive and knew the menu well. Parking is what it is on Mass Ave....but somehow I snagged a metered spot right in front of the door! I triple checked to be sure it was a real spot and not a loading zone or something before getting too excited.
