I had dinner here around the holidays with some of my best friends, as we do every year, and it did not disappoint! Enjoyed a relaxing evening at Mesh on Mass Ave this weekend. I had a busy Friday which led to a super late dinner... I think we arrived around 9PM, there were a few tables open, we opted for bar seating. From valet to table(bar) service everyone was friendly, and gave great service. On this visit I enjoyed a White Cheddar Bacon Burger and Fries(which taste best when dipped in their house Ranch). This burger was just what I needed after my crazy Friday... I. LOVE. THIS. RESTAURANT. I've only been here twice, the first time I got the short rib and it was during devour, and it was quite literally one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. I was correct.. not many people there around 2pm on a thursday or friday. Sat at the bar, had a couple beers and watched a couple basketball game. Bartender was friendly and provided good service without being all over you. Water kept filled... kept my beer cup not empty, can't beat it. I love the food here.. the chicken bowl is delicious. Last time I was there for brunch i tried their new burrito. It appears HUGE and while good sized, i somehow managed to eat it all! Was impressed with myself lol. The only thing keeping this place from getting 5 stars... Their beer selection and consistently being out of something good. The beer selection isn't large, but covers most varieties. Went here during devour indy. I started with the lobster bisque. It was so creamy and had chunks of lobster in it, 10/10. For the main course, I had the strip steak, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. I expected to be blown away by the steak, since it was pretty pricey, as well as the whole restaurant is more upscale then its others. I unfortunately wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it was a good steak. But I expected to be mesmerized by it. For dessert, I had a chocolate brownie. It was amazing and so moist! (Sorry) Overall this place is great! I've been to Mesh a few times, so it's only fitting I give them their props. Mesh is part of the Cunningham Restaurant group, it's the kind of place you go on your birthday, anniversary, or if you just wanna get fancy on a Tuesday. The food has always been super flavorful and they have something for everyone. I'm not much of a meat person, so I usually stick to their seafood dishes, and they have yet to disappoint me. I always try something different off the drink menu and they have a pretty extensive bourbon list. Sunday's are half off wine bottles, so perfect for girls' night or a date. Incredible food! I had a great experience at Mesh - I'm sure this was largely influenced by how great the food was. They also offer half price bottles of wine on Sunday! I ordered the coconut curry spaghetti squash that came with grilled tofu. Perfect for any vegetarian like me (or vegan, or any meat eater)! It has so much flavor, and is spicy. The coconut milk they made it with adds a nice creamy flavor that complements the spice very well. This dish was absolutely delicious and I still think about it often! The best part about it? It came out hot. I don't know if I've ever had food that came out that hot in years, and it blew me away! I don't think I realized how much I missed my food being served hot. The ice cream trio was delicious as well and fun to try different flavors - Graham Central Station, Raspberry Chocolate Truffle, and Vanilla. The first time I went to Mesh, it was through work, with my collueges. We tried a wide array of appetizers, including calamari. For my entree , I had ordered the Rigatoni, which I liked so much, I finished very quickly. For dessert, we once again ordered almost all the options on the menu, but the chocolate terrine left such a lasting taste of deliciousness in my mouth that it pulled me back go Mesh again. Next time I went with my husband. We started with Kung pao calamari and Mesh salad. The calamari didn't disappoint and the Mesh Salad was a sweet reminder of its sister restaurant Bru Burger's Valencia salad. I absolutely love the refreshing vinegrette atop a bed of greens, goat cheese, Quinoa and walnuts. While you find mandarins at Bru burger, Mesh had yellow beets. It was a perfect pairing to our heavier calamari. For entree I once again went with rigatoni. I love that dish so much, I feel like I'm on a different planet when having it. The tomato confit within a goat cheese fondue with, Spinach and Peanuts add a lot to the dish that's decadent and transformative. My husband enjoyed his blackened chicken and Ides of Winter cocktail while I sipped on a specially curated mocktail for me. For dessert, I once again had to go with the chocolate terrine served with a scoop of raspberry ice cream. Can I just say, I am obsessed with this dessert so much that I got it to go, got in my comfy clothes at home, turned on my favorite movie, and spent the next hour savoring it! The food was mediocre, the service was poor but the ambiance was great. The server was asking for our drink order before we even got to the table, the menu was just placed on the table with out any discussion. Then it took fifteen minutes for our drinks to arrive and in between being seated and the drinks arriving there was no contact from anyone. I'll start with the positives, the staff and ambiance were excellent. I came here for my anniversary, never been to mesh before. They have a very extensive wine list which is great, what isn't great however is the rip off. I ordered a bottle of Decoy 2010 which is on the menu and one of the cheaper Cabs for $70 dollars. The waitress came back with a 2018 and when I asked her if that changes the price at all she said no because it's "basically the same". I tried to order two different bottles because I know I can get a 2018 decoy from Kroger for about $21 and she kept coming back and saying they were out of everything I was ordering. I cut my losses because I wanted to enjoy my Anniversary. We asked her recommendations on food, took them and ordered what she recommended. I had the Ora king salmon. Very disappointed in our food this evening. Mesh was not full, which is unlike when we have eaten there 2 years ago, and the pad Thai cost more than the price on the menu - for a protein - even tho the menu didn't state that. Then it came with no chicken so the waiter took the entree back and returned with an unseasoned sliced chicken breast on top of the noodles. The tortellini was cold and tasteless, and the lobster bisque was lukewarm - really simply shocking since The Mesh was were used to celebrate big events. One word for my first experience at Mesh: WOW! I'm a huge fan of the CRG restaurants, so I'm really upset it took me so long to try this one. Everything about the experience at Mesh was top notch. Unrelated to the meal, one of the things I liked most was that while there were pricier items on the menu and Mesh could definitely be one of those places you go to for special occassions, you can definitely have an affordable night out and know that the food will be delicious. Have I mentioned their food is delicious? My boyfriend and I both LOVED our meals. We started with the ahi tuna nachos which were a home run. The ahi tuna was smoked to perfection and was on top of homemade tortilla chips. Can't go wrong there. For our meals, I got the chicken bowl and my boyfriend tried the Ruben sandwich (after both going back and forth between all the amazing sounding options). We both ate our entire meals and basically licked the plates clean. About half way through my meal I noticed there was no chicken in my chicken bowl, so when the waiter came back around, I mentioned it to him just to let him know. He was incredibly apologetic and said he would let the staff know. I reassured him it was not a big deal and that I still loved my dish (I liked it so much I left nothing). He returned to let me know they would not be charging us for the dish because of the mistake and again apologized. Notice the 5 star rating even with the mistake? Yep that's because despite the minor hiccup, the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all still phenomenal so I will definitely be returning. Whew what an experience! I've been here before years ago with no problem but Sunday morning was a lot! My husband and I went for a great breakfast here at Mesh. We sat down and our waiter was Susie at first who gave us some luke warm coffee and all of a sudden Tom appeared and said he was our waiter. We were like "where's Susie?". There was a mix up and I guess Tom was it now. Tom took our appetizer order and we got biscuits with butter, jelly, and honey. This was so good! He finally brought us hot coffee and took our order. Our orders finally came and my husband ordered the chicken and waffles. He said it was really good and was happy. Mine on the other hand came and wasn't correct. I ordered the breakfast burger but without the beef, onions on my potatoes, and a side of bacon. It came with beef, no onions, and that side of bacon. I sent it back. 20 minutes later and after watching my husband enjoy, I get my plate. Again it's wrong. Now all my bacon is on the sandwich and those potatoes still have no onion on them. Tom made up some lies as well during the time and I don't even feel like talking about his behaviors because it's too much to write. The manager came by and fixed all of Tom's mistakes and made us happy after a terrible morning brunch. I would definitely go back but I would definitely not sit in Tom's section. Our server was phenomenal! She was so sweet and completely made the experience. Besides allowing us to stay in the booth and chat for an hour after we were done eating, she invited us back again and we felt like we were in her house. The manager even stopped by to check in on us - always a sign of a quality business. The food is high-quality and interesting. I tried the salmon, brussel sprout dip, chicken, and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was a bit too creamy for me to eat the entire bowl, but I really enjoyed the chicken and would order that again. The space is dim, trendy, and nice. There are lots of large booths where you can lounge with your group, and a separate bar that's attached to the dining room. The wedding happened to fall on my three-year anniversary with my boyfriend, so we decided to celebrate that Thursday night (two days before the wedding). After researching restaurants close to our hotel, we decided on Mesh and I'm so happy we did! Our server (I can't remember his name) was so friendly and helpful and just seemed like a chill guy. The entire staff was like that, honestly, but I felt like our server went above and beyond. Now on to the food- so delicious! They'd apparently just updated their menu earlier that day and wow, so good! We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer which was similar to an artichoke dip in texture. It was served with bread and had gruyere and bacon in it. As my entree, I had the shrimp with veggies. My boyfriend had steak frites. All wonderful and very large portions. We had leftovers of everything that we definitely ate later that night and even the next day. The drinks were good and refreshing. And apparently on Thursday nights they do half-priced cocktails, so we got very lucky! As if everything wasn't already wonderful, they didn't charge us for our appetizer because it was our anniversary and they'd run out of cake. Why have I never tried this place before? My husband took me out to dinner here for Valentine's Day this year. I told him I wanted some place low key, great lighting, and a unique menu, and boy did this place deliver. We received excellent service. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich, and the flavor was divine. I got the garlic fries as my side, and they were perfectly crisp. I also tried my boyfriend's New York Strip, and it's one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. My brother-in-law's Filet was so good that he cried (I'm not kidding ha). So I've reviewed Mesh in the past (pre-quarantine). But I wanted to throw another review because this by far has been the best carry out experience and food we've had so far during the quarantine! When we ordered we were able to tell them the time we wanted the food to be ready, they asked for the make and model of our call to make sure they brought it to the right person. When we pulled up, the worker was out in no time with gloves and mask on and put it in our backseat for us. Excellent no contact service. The food - wow it was hot, perfectly cooked. I'm pretty sure I inhaled my meal (the amish chicken). My husband ordered the skirt steak which was cooked perfectly to order the fries weren't event soggy (you know how fries can get during takeout)! We will be ordering it again, I am dreaming of the Amish Chicken weekly. The only thing (which will not stop be from giving a 5) was that our meat and cheese plate was missing a meat and the honeycomb.
