Crispy Rice Crab Salad
Vu T.

I went on a Saturday night to celebrate my brother's bday and oh boy is this restaurant beautiful! It was so empty around 5:30 until there were a few more tables filled up 2 hours later - but still nowhere near full capacity. The view is drop dead gorgeous, and the service was amazing. We even had service on the broccolini side and a birthday cake. My favorite has to be tempura branzino, which is off the menu. So crispy and so flavorful. But every single dish here is really a hit for me. I'd order everything again honestly. It's 100% worth it for any occasion as long as y'all can afford the great view & great food! Hopefully they get more traction as I would hate to see this place close down :(

My parents were staying at the sun rose last week and we got together for an early Thursday night dinner with views. Dinner was called for 6 but my brother was running late, so I had a glass of Chablis at the bar and caught some of the Eagles game (go birds). Once our full party arrived - mom, dad, brother, & grandma, we went to sit in the back. Desmond was an awesome waiter and made sure to take note of all my allergies. Not easy eating at Asian fusion when you can't have; soy, sesame, or shellfish but the food did not disappoint. My parents loved the ribs & I shared the duck with garlic fried rice (substitute for allergies) with my dad. Tomato salad pictured below was great to share and so was the tostada. Wolfgang restaurants never disappoint and I'll definitely be back.

This was a fantastic evening! Our handsome waiter Desmond was awesome. He answered questions about the extensive menu, offering descriptions of each dish to help us choose. My friend ordered a glass of rosé champagne which she loved. I had a non alcoholic Peroni. I ordered the lobster spring roll to start, she had the hamachi tostada. Both excellent. Large portions. We followed with the crab fried rice and crispy rice crab salad. We love seafood. Wow. It was epic. Slightly spicy and very delicious. Desmond brought us a slice of decadent chocolate cake to celebrate our birthday dinner. Did I mention the views? An experience not to be missed. We will be back.

*Delayed post from Jan '25. WOW! What an incredible experience at Merois. One of the best meals in LA to date. The staff was extremely attentive, refilling water, clearing plates, and providing new silverware before we even noticed. They took pictures of our group in multiple spots as well. The views are spectacular and I highly recommend coming here for special occasions, even if it's just to check out their bar and dessert menu in the smaller area next to the dining room. The passion fruit sauce that accompanied the Spring Garlic Brioche was mouth-puckeringly delicious and unexpectedly spicy, but not overpowering. It paired well with the Creme Fraiche and Caviar, which cooled down the spice and added saltiness, but the biscuits we received were on the smaller side. Not sure we really needed them at all. The Brussel Sprouts were well coated in a creamy sauce, yet retained their crispy texture. I thoroughly enjoyed the aromatic spice from the Mustard, similar to the effect of Wasabi or Horseradish, but not as intense. The Blue Fina Tuna Rice Cakes were very crispy and contrasted the delicate fish on top well. I enjoyed the balance of acidity and sweetness of the Ponzu. We ordered the Wagyu cooked at medium. It was extremely tender and featured just the right amount of charcoal flavor. Thankfully the Chimichurri wasn't too oily, though it was very acidic from the amount of lime used. It punches you in the face in a good way! The accompanying potatoes were crispy on the outside and buttery soft in the middle. Cauliflower was properly battered, giving it a satisfying bite. It balanced sweet and spicy well, but was too salty. Mixing it with the Crab Fried Rice helped so the saltiness was spread out amongst the egg and duck. The Red Tai Curry had a nice lingering spice similar to a Habanero, but the coconut milk was nice to reign in the heat. The texture of the mushrooms in this dish were so satisfying! Not mushy at all. The Shrimp was well cooked, juicy without becoming rubbery. Once again this dish exemplified their ability to balance sweetness from the pineapple and spice from the curry. The Peking Duck was extremely well done. They rendered the fat properly and slightly undercooked the meat to allow for the best texture and flavor without too much grease. I enjoyed that they carved the duck next to our table as well!

It's one of those peaceful- quiet spots on Sunset that IYk-YK. It has a great video of the city, amazing service, and delicious drinks. Their oysters are so fresh and yummy. The servers are so nice and attentive. Highly suggest it if you want to actually sit, enjoy your drinks and have a great convo without so much noise and extra music.

Perched atop a five-star hotel, Merois is the kind of elevated dining experience that reminds you why LA's rooftop scene is unmatched. This isn't just a pretty view with mediocre food--the French-Japanese-Asian fusion cuisine here is thoughtful, flavorful, and executed beautifully. I started with the Kurobuta Pork Skewers with chili paste marinade and pineapple sambal, and they were phenomenal. The pork was incredibly tender, with that perfect caramelization on the outside, and the pineapple sambal added a sweet-spicy kick that kept me coming back for more. The Kung Pao Cauliflower was a revelation. Sichuan pepper gave it that tingly heat, and the peanuts added the perfect crunch. Even as someone who usually gravitates toward meat dishes, this was impressive. For the main, I went with the Crab Fried Rice with Peking duck, dashi omelet, and garlic chives. I requested charred rice and a soft omelet, and the kitchen nailed it. The smoky, crispy rice bits contrasted perfectly with the creamy omelet, and the crab was generous and sweet. This dish alone is worth the visit. The crispy spinach was a simple but addictive side--light, crunchy, and well-seasoned. What really elevated the experience was the service. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, refilling my water without me having to ask. The atmosphere was surprisingly relaxed too--not overly crowded, which made for a peaceful, intimate dinner with that spectacular LA skyline as a backdrop.

We didn't realize this was part of Wolfgang Puck restaurants until the day of. I've been to Spago and was not a fan, and was scared that this place would also be the same. I was pleasantly surprised and would absolutely recommend Merois. Restaurant is located at the rooftop of the Pendry hotel. The hotel has parking and the restaurant validates. It's $25 for the first 2 hours with validation and $5 for each 30min after. The view inside is amazing, overlooking g the city. Service was also top notch, welcoming and friendly. Food was also great quality, seasoned perfectly and a fusion of Japanese and American. I would recommend the lobster spring rolls. It comes with 2 rolls each cut in half. The cauliflower was also really good. The meatballs were good but probably my least favorite out of all the appetizers we tried. Hands down the crab fried rice was the best. Big portion size and a combo of crab and duck. I usually don't eat duck because I feel it's gamy but I couldn't even taste it, that's how well it was seasoned. Overall great experience and would absolutely come back again!

The front of house staff was extremely patient with my party as LA traffic made 80% of my party super late. The views are stunning from the dining room. The food is excellent, starting with the bread. The cauliflower was a crowd favorite, essentially it was like orange cauliflower with an incredible fry and sauce. The beef skewers were also quite tasty. I opted to get the crab crispy rice salad which was delightful. Would definitely go back for a special occasion.

My son and I had an amazing evening. It started with the kind maître d who seated us at the comfy beautiful bar while our table was being prepared. My son picked the beef dumplings that were simply a delight for the palate. I had the incredible shrimp and duck rice and he had the lobster spring rolls. Next time we will order 2:). Please give our compliments to all the staff that smiled at us. Which was Everyone! Hospitality here is genuine and seeps into every cell. In closing, our awesome, kind, attentive and well informed Marguerite remembered what I had the last time I had been there and.... She is a diamond that brings a layer of care and love that mirrors the beauty of the floor to ceiling glass that immerses everyone into a heavenly dining experience. She spreads genuine love, happiness and care to all the staff that are an integral part of the total experience. I cherished every detail and moment and the ube cheesecake and the calamansi lemon spiked cake are the closers for a meal artfully inspired, delivered and devoured. Looking forward to my next Memorable Merois experience:). Thank you again and again!

Loved loved loved this spot for Valentines Day dinner with my love. Booked if a month or so in advance for the rooftop romantic vibe for Valentine's Day and wasn't disappointed. Located at the top of the Pendry West Hollywood Hotel, it was the perfect intimate vibe. The hotel is located at the corner of a street around the corner for entrance and has valet parking that can be validated at the restaurant and costs $20. Margarete was our waitress and such a joy! Super friendly, very accommodating, and gave great recommendations! The food was amazing and I was not expecting to get as much variety and quantity for the price. The highlight for me was definitely the Oysters which were super delicious and had great accoutrements! Everything was delicious overall though, and I'd definitely opt in for the caviar, which was another highlight. The menu was perfectly curated and we were left super satisfied and the view was to die for.

I just had a quick drink at this rooftop bar next to the Mondrian pool. The menu looked great, the service was super nice and the vibe was trendy and chill. My drink, ok drinks, went down smooth and off I went! I can't wait to go back!

This year for my birthday we tried their dinner! Everything was delicious but the most memorable: Medium Rare Wagyu Filet Peking Duck Medium Rare NY steak Brussel sprouts Spikey Lemon Calamansi Cake Ube Basque Cheese Cake I was really impressed that they rolled out the whole duck and carved the white meat to serve at our table. I was raving about the skin perfectly lightly crisped and fatty and around tender meat complimented by a familiar duck sauce without overpowering the duck's flavor. BTW It can definitely feed more than two especially if you're ordering other items. Both the wagyu and NY strip was absolutely best served medium rare. I was very surprised at how wasabi vinaigrette complimented the Wagyu so well without it being overly spicy. Also, the New York strip was a very thick cut and the accompanying bone marrow and greens really added to the special flavor experience of the steak. The mustard and bacon bits sauce on that brussel sprouts was incredible. Also the sear created a flaky crisp on the outer layers of the veg. It was just right! Also, I really liked their White Pearl Drink. Watch out for that spicy kick. And of course we already knew we were gonna enjoy the Spikey Lemon and Ube Cheese cake! They are consistently rich, distinctly flavorful highlighting their ingredients very specifically. You can recognize the calamansi and ube flovors really well. Really glad that the crab fried rice went well with everything. And surprisingly, we found that the curry was overshadowed by the other items. Notable: The service was very friendly and they love to talk. The new general manager was extra attentive. I especially loved our server Kheani (forgive my guess at the spelling), K had great best friend energy, kept great pace in checking in with us, and bonus she did an above and beyond effort taking group photos of us that included the city background. Unfortunately, our drinks however came slower than we liked, especially when our coffee came way after we were done with our dessert. The ambience of course is impeccable. Although, the lighting can feel too dim and the table too small for 4-5 guests when the orders starts coming in. We've had to maneuver the little table lamp a lot to accommodate our meal experience.

Is it crowded on a Monday night or empty/ dead?

Somewhere in between, when I went all tables eventually filled up but it didn't feel crowded. I'd still make a reservation to secure a table but you could be lucky a find a table available if you go early.

Are there gluten free options?

Yes, they're great with food allergies including gluten/dairy. I've eaten here dozens of times and never had a problem.

What are the dining menu prices. The website doesn't offer any prices that I saw?

Expect to pay Spago prices. With drinks, it's around $100 per person to have a really lovely Meal with shared dishes.

Where do we park?

We dined at Merois in November 2021, and at the time, parking was available on N Olive (off from Sunset Blvd). The parking rate was $10 with validation. If you don't see the sign, pull into their valet station and ask.…

Hi! Is there outdoor seating?

Not complete outdoors, but table seating right at the very open entrance of the bar/restaurant. (Nestled right next to the hotel pool-amazing scenery all around!!)

The indoor seating was bar tops only and their tables are outside in the makeshift patio, since they are located in a shopping center with Yum Yum Donuts. We didn't love how in order to park in the lot we had to pay the $17 valet fee even though there were plenty of spaces. I feel like that service should only be mandatory during peak dining hours. Anyways, the host and hostess were both very nice and walked us to our table. The host/our waiter for the first half of the meal made some recommendations and shared what the daily special was. To drink, I had the Spritz which was good - nothing to write home about, but it got the job done. We started our meal with a fresh baguette and homemade butter which was divine. For our main meal, we shared the heirloom tomato salad, trout almandine, and "Big Mec" with frites. The heirloom salad - although simple - was refreshing and had a perfectly balanced dressing. The trout was the start of the show. Crispy skin, crispy almonds, and SWIMMING in butter. The Big Mec was also quite good, but I think at that point I was a bit too full to enjoy it. But the meat was cooked well, and the sauce they drizzle on top was tasty. No dessert since we were stuffed. It was truly an indulgent meal. Of the French restaurants I have had in LA, I'd say Petit Trois was memorable. I think if I were to go again I would visit their Sherman Oaks location solely based on the ambiance.

We were told the Big Mec was the move for a first visit. So rich, so delicious. I've honestly never had a burger quite in that category before. We had the steak frites too and loved it. The whole thing just felt like a great lunch. Taking our time, hanging at the bar, nowhere to rush off to. Only thing missing was a glass of wine, which I'll fix next time. Very excited we finally made it. Can't wait to come back.

The ambience is pretty, especially the area with the lights on the ceiling, but the overall vibe felt more lively and party-like THAN romantic. If you want to spend time with your friends I say come here but don't expect the food to be good. If you saw this place from TikTok and thought it would feel like a little Disney scene it really didn't feel that way to me. My boyfriend and I waited about 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, even though it wasn't very busy. The staff was flexible and nice about moving us to a diff spot near the lights, which I appreciated. But we still waited a full hour for our food, and no one checked in on us until after it arrived :/ My bf ordered the $80 steak, which was a small portion and wasn't very good. He said he didn't like how the potatoes were made it was super chunky and they have it with green beans instead of asparagus if that's your preference... but we've seen juicier, larger steak at Nonna's for $20 less. As for me I ordered the pappardelle, but I didn't enjoy it. The noodles tasted doughy, and didn't like how they cut out leaf peas and fried garlic in the mixture... so we were not fans of the food. As for the housemade malawach bread it was super oily and the leafs on top were long. I mean presentation of the food was cute but not tasty or enjoyable lol. The setting is nice, but the service and food didn't live up to what we expected. For a more romantic dinner, I'd choose somewhere like Cara or Nonna's instead because this was just super disappointing for my 2 year anniversary dinner experience.

There is a self conscious, tongue in cheek, look at me sort of self referencing playfulness going on now at Amour/love. The structure itself has not changed, but the surface details of various rooms have now transformed into a fantasy world of chic French interior design details from the 17th to 19th century such as touches of Baroque, Empire, Beaux Arts, l'Art Nouveau. It feels like a Hollywood movie set. I sat at the tiny bar on the most substantial, leather upholstered, elaborate bar stool looking up at a gold framed, faux dome replete with puti flying in a hazy, cobalt blue sky. Bottle of effervescent Evian slaked the thirst on a hot August summer day. Tristin is the cool, whimsical, good natured, extremely hard working bartender-server who added great service while being an interesting conversationalist between running the bar and helping out at the other far off tables. He is a perpetual motion machine. Amour is lucky to have him. 1) Soupe à l'Oignon Gratinée: Thick slab of partially melted Compté cheese overlays a dark, rich beef broth with abundance of caramelized onions and slice of toasted baguette. Unfortunately, it was overly sweet which detracted from the overall goodness of this iconic soup. 2) Entrecôte Frites: Thin cut of grilled, fatty ribeye that seemed a bit aged for beefiness. I ordered it medium rare but got it almost well done. (sigh) Pommes Frites were OK, crispy but didn't quite have that ineffable, earthy, pleasing flavour. Seeing the Rothschild name, I thought this was a Bordeaux, but at this price point, it was not meant to be. However, considering this wine retails at the $40 dollar range on the internet, $38 for a glass was quite a mark up. 3) Coupe Belle-Hélène: Scoop of Chambord Sorbet from the liqueur of raspberries, blackberries, vanilla, and cognac. Sugar poached pear conserve. Vanilla infused Crème Chantilly, sprinkling of almond chips, dash of chocolate syrup. Very fruity, appropriate for refreshing the palate after a rich repast. This meal could have been executed with more finesse. The kitchen may have been overwhelmed with guests at peak lunch hour. Perhaps Tuesday or Wednesday early dinner when it is less busy may be the better option. Tristin's due diligence and friendly service as well as the fun, theatrical, Gallic inspired décor pushes the 3+ food to the next 4 stars. Btw, just got word that Amour will close its doors at the end of August. Supposedly, it is rebranding to open at a later date. Bon Chance et À Dieu!

The atmosphere was absolutely fabulous--cozy, classy, and giving major French bistro vibes. Now let's talk about KYLE! Our server was AMAZING. He normally works the bar, but tonight he was serving us with a smile, great energy, and enough personality to make us feel like VIP celebrities. Kyle, you understood the assignment! The food came out fast and did NOT disappoint. The Big Mec: My son ordered it, and Kyle told us it's the 2nd-best burger in the country. After one bite, my son went completely silent. I think that says everything! Steak Frites: Delicious! Great quality, flavorful, and cooked just right. BANANA PIE: Oh. My. Goodness. I have no words. Actually, I do... ORDER IT. Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was a WIN. Don't believe me? Go try it yourself! And when you fall in love with the banana pie, just remember... I told you so. Until my next food adventure... STAY TUNED! Loving good one laugh at a time Millie. The food freak"

The portions on the food were not worth the cost, and overall the dinner was disappointing. Our third visit (we took our travel agent to lunch) was also a disappointment. Her "Big Mec" was not what she expected as it was not a sandwich she could eat by hand, a fork and knife was required. I opted for the Croque Monsieur, as my first experience was so good! Unfortunately the sandwich as burned, and it was covered with the cheese sauce, so not readily apparent. I pointed it out tot he waiter and he offered to take it off the tab, which I should have done. This was disappointing as we were about to travel to Paris for a special anniversary, and it was nowhere near the excellent quality of food we had in Paris.

We asked for a quick wipe down and the server acted as if he was too good to wipe a table. He took forever to get a rag, over dramatically wiped the table, stormed off to put the rag back and took forever to return. He had a smug attitude when we asked a few questions about the menu items. The most forced fakest smile as we thanked him for answering question and taking our order. He forgot half our menu items, Never returned. Both my friend and I had to get up, walk to the bar to get some help. We sat so long for our order to be corrected, our food got cold. The food was disgusting, unoriginal and way way way over priced. But the way we were treated was the worst part. I've never seen a server SOOOO put out by being asked to wipe a table and answer some questions. I live up the street, I will never give this establishment a cent again There are a million places to eat where the food is good and you won't get treated like shit. Horrible horrible

You've gotta just ignore social norms and say F it! F is for French! lol Yeah, sometimes you've gotta just exclaim: "I'm gettin' the Burger and I'm most DEFINITELY getting the Fries!" And nobody and I mean Nobody is going to stop me! Yeah, that was me and my mindset when I was out at the Beverly Center back in August. Hey! It was lunch. I was hungry. & Nicolas Eatery was there to handle all my needs. And just like Napoleon Bonaparte would have done... I strolled in, I walked straight to the bar top, sat down, placed my napkin in my lap, ordered a burger, a side of fries and of course L.A's FINEST tap water. And just like that, instead of following trends... I was setting them! So what did I get you ask?? Le Beverly Burger of course!! This alongside their perfectly fried French fries which you know I dipped in Ketchup... Yes, I know, so American of me! =) Sadly, my only mistake I made on this day... I should have ordered my favorite French Beer, 1664 Kronenbourg.... Damn! But Lance, this Mall is so crazy, where the heck do I go?? Nicolas Eatery is located on Level 6, or "six" in French (Fun Fact: spelled the same, sounds totally different) and trust, my French is No Good! If you're able to snag a window seat, you will get a clear view of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign in the distance. Of course I went with the Burger, but trust, this place has more than just French Fries. -French Baguette with Butter -French Onion Soup -French Omelette But if want to drink like the French do... You know they've got a little vin (wine) or you can go with the classic French 75 cocktail. So, to this ai say: Be like the French. Eat like the French. Drink... Like the French and come start your own La Révolution! But instead of storming Bastille, storm Beverly Center and demand your freedom to order whatever the hell you choose from Nicolas Eatery! And after you're done, walk out proudly singing Viva La France!!!

We started with their mushroom tourte, one of their favorite appetizers, serving puff pastry topped with creamy mushrooms and truffle oil. Perfect opening with hypnotizing truffle aroma. As for the entree, we tried both the Lamb Shank and their crowd's favorite Duck Confit. My husband who's a fan of lamb did love his dish as the meat was tender, portion was satisfying, and it's rich in flavor. I was in the camp of those who couldn't stand lamb's after-taste so the duck confit was my option. Extremely juicy meat with palatable sauce and nice crispy skin. We got their Creme Brulee for dessert and it just gorgeously ended the dinner set, being moist and silky, not eggy at all, flawlessly topped with torched caramel layer.

Didn't think too much of it really enjoyed eating their desserts a lot more than the main dishes. And a pistachio cake plus a crème brûlée, which was really delicious and I remember a lot more than the actual main dishes. If you like French food, you'll like it here. Make sure to make a reservation. Parking is a little hard so you'll have to find street parking somewhere.

I just have to say... wow! What an absolutely great experience from start to finish!!!…read more The restaurant is such a cool, intimate space that immediately makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. There is a cute little bar and a cozy space with the perfect amount of tables inside. There is also a wonderful patio with plenty of outdoor seating. Our waiter, Lokahi, took such great care of us and was so warm, friendly and helpful with his suggestions.... But I have to say, I think that no matter what we ordered, it would have been great! We started with the little gem Caesar salad, the brussel sprouts and the patatas bravas... all were sooooo good! The salad was simple, crispy and fresh with delicious tomatoes, the perfect amount of Parmesan, and a superb Caesar dressing. The patatas bravas was equally as good - slightly crispy potatoes with a great tomato sauce that had a hint of spice and was incredibly flavorful! And the brussel sprouts were perfect - not oily, plenty of flavor and overall rounded out our apps perfectly. For dinner we each had the Salt Spring Mussels with a side of fries to share... the mussels were amazing, the broth delicious and the side of bread that they serve with them is the perfect addition to soak up all the savory broth. The fries were cooked perfectly and were seasoned just right! I have to say that Melanie is without a doubt one of the best dinner experiences that we have had in our 11 years of being in LA. From the food and service to the overall experience, I would give Melanie 10 stars if I could. Needless to say, I would HIGHLY recommend Melanie as I know that you will have an amazing meal with equally top notch service as well! We will 100% be coming back again and again!!!

I didn't make it here until March 2026 and after my first visit, I'm sorry I didn't come earlier. My husband and I came here on a Sunday night, with a last minute reservation I'd made on Resy. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we came in around 5:30ish. A lot of the tables were empty. They had both indoor and outdoor dining available, but the majority of the seats were indoor. The ambiance here is dark and chic, it reminded me very much of restaurants in NYC. It would make for a good spot for a date night or girls' night out. We made it here in time to order one thing from their happy hour menu, the tater tots. These were heavy but moreish, it was hard to stop eating them even when my stomach was telling me I was full. We also shared the corn, which I believe may have been a special/seasonal dish. It will go down as one of the best corn dishes I've ever eaten in a restaurant. My husband got the burger for his main and I got the mussels. The mussels were pretty fresh and silky, and were overall excellent, but I didn't love the broth they came in. My husband's burger was fantastic. It's one of the best burgers I've eaten at a restaurant in LA. Service was lovely and efficient. I'm looking forward to dining here again, and would highly recommend trying it.
