Cozy ambiance, food was decent, server was attentive and friendly. Our food took longer than 30' and we had to ask him twice about it. We are not sure what the hold up was, but he was apologetic. It was a Saturday night. The potato appetizer was good, I wanted to order more. The salad was refreshing to my palate. There is a charge for employees' health insurance with the option to remove it by asking the server to take it off the bill.

Since I am a big fan of Mediterranean food so we decided to try this new Spanish restaurant. This restaurant shares the same space with Katsuya. It's very stylish and open. We decided on sliders, seafood paella and market vegetables. Our server wanted us to order everything in at once so the food could come out in time. Paella takes long time to prepare. For drinks we had sparkling water, iced tea, few Grey Goode martinis, glass of red wine and espresso shots. Also a very good chocolate mousse as dessert, it was great with tawny port. Everything was delicious in good portions. Our server was very friendly and attentive as well. We would definitely come back to try more delicious Mediterranean food!

This review is specifically of the Dani Garcia x Josiah Citrin pop up on Nov 12. Was so excited for this collab since I had not tried Casa Dani yet, and I dined at Citrin a couple years back and had a lovely time. While this was a very fun tasting menu and event, we spent almost 3.5 hours at the restaurant (seated at 7:30, left close to 11pm). Other tables had bee seated after us and left before us, so I am unsure why our particular table (just the two of us) took so long. I have had 20+ course tasting menus in the amount of time for this 8 course one. Timing aside, The menu was lovely. I was particularly excited for the famous Citrin egg that I still dream about! The foie yogurt also came with that dish, and it was phenomenal. the porterhouse tuna carpaccio from chef Garcia was unreal, and such a gorgeous presentation that I haven't seen before. I loved the explanation of the cut of fish and the table side preparation. The tomato soup from chef Citrin was unexpectedly delicious. Strawberry sorbet sounds like a strange element in tomato soup, but it really works! The grilled avocado from Garcia was very well done. Citrin's lobster agnolotti was a tad disappointing. While I adored the broth, the pasta itself did not seem to have enough lobster stuffing, and I really could not taste much of it. I felt somewhat similarly of Citrin's rockfish. The brown butter sauce was fantastic, but the fish itself was a bit dry and lacked flavor. I know it is a Citrin staple, but I personally feel this dish would be better was a halibut or snapper. Garcia's ribeye paella was absolutely incredible. Steak was cooked perfectly and the rice is so flavorful. Can't wait to come back and try more paella! For dessert was Garcia's churro and Citrin's passion fruit. Both were incredible, though the churro was quite hard and crunchy, and may have been overdone. The miso toffee accompaniment was fantastic with it though.

Casa Dani Recently visited Casa Dani, which sits right next to Katsuya; both concepts now share ownership, creating an interesting partnership between the two. Casa Dani itself is helmed by a Michelin-starred chef, and you can feel that influence immediately in the execution and attention to detail. We started with the tortilla topped with shaved truffle; silky, rich, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what you want from a classic Spanish tortilla with a little luxury layered on top. The Ibérico appetizer served with sourdough was flavorful, with that signature nutty depth you expect. A few bites leaned slightly firm, but overall it was still enjoyable and well-seasoned. The croquettes were excellent--gooey, cheesy, and indulgent with shaved Ibérico ham adding just the right amount of salt to balance the creamy filling. The oysters were standouts of the night. Stunning presentation, flower petals and all, with a cold, creamy, incredibly fresh bite. I could have easily ordered another round. We also tried the shrimp head appetizer, offered as a special. The shrimp are flown in from Spain daily and priced at $20 each. They were prepared simply in a deeply flavorful olive oil that made us want endless bread to soak it all up. For dessert, we had the Basque cheesecake. I'm very familiar with Basque--it's typically baked at a high temperature to keep the edges caramelized while the center stays creamy. This version was different: made with goat cheese, sprinkled with a distinct cheese and much airier than the traditional format. While I personally prefer the classic ultra-creamy style, this take was unique and genuinely tasty. Overall, Casa Dani is absolutely worth trying. We enjoyed our dishes, and the service was truly exceptional--both our waiter and the manager made us feel welcomed and well taken care of.

I was astonished at how amazing Casa Dani was. They are a newer restaurant that should be making its way to LA's top 10 shortly. The customer service was excellent. Our server was so knowledgeable about the type of cuisine being served, great recommendations, and how many dishes we should order. The restaurant itself was beautifully renovated. Food was definitely the winner here. Every single dish we got was 10/10. I can highly recommend: - Ibérico Ham Croquetas - Endive Salad - Fluke Crudo - La Fiesta Mediterranea Pasta Great portions for (2) people with plenty of leftovers.

Casa Dani is 1 million times better than Katsu Ya so don't even bother having mediocre sushi. Come here for paella instead anytime any day. They don't validate though.

This was a very mixed experience overall. Some dishes really stood out, while others were disappointing especially given the price point. The porterhouse tuna was excellent, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The brioche bread with butter was amazing, and the leek dish was delicious. We also enjoyed the flat iron steak, which was cooked well and full of flavor. For dessert, the flan was really good, and the churros were solid. On the downside, the tomato tartare was underwhelming, and the Ibérico ham was just okay definitely not worth the $51 price tag. The biggest letdown was the ribeye paella. The rice was extremely salty, which was surprising and disappointing, especially for a Spanish restaurant where paella should really shine. The rice pudding was overly sweet and just okay. To be fair, the service was attentive the waiter did come by to check on us, but given how long the food took to come out, I didn't have the heart to share the feedback at the time. The ambiance is gorgeous, no question about that. However, even at $600 total after tip for a group of seven, it didn't feel worth it due to the inconsistency of the food.

Casi Dani opened way later than I hope. I love paella and Spanish cuisine so I always look forward to trying new Spanish restaurants The whole restaurant has a minimalistic vibe with warm interior. It is fancy and great for special occasions. Though parking in this mall is way too expensive. Ribeye paella (4/5) is a new addition for current menu. It is rather very expensive $110 for 18". Normally I see 14" paella options for $34 which I would order next time. I just wanted to try this new dish. The rice felt undercooked and a little hard to chew. Endive salad (5/5). You can't go wrong with salad since there is nothing to cook. The price is not as pricey $14. Truffle tortilla slice 5/5 was amazing. This Spanish national dish is easy to make at home too. But price is $12 which is hefty for a tiny slice. But it was so delicious. Overall service is modest. The water was never refilled. I wish they just give me the pitcher to refill myself because cups are tiny I could possibly come back but I prefer some other Spanish restaurants.

The ambiance and decor were nice. It gave the vibe of Mediterranean Spanish mixed with 1950s Americana. Food was a fixed menu. Small portions but every single one of them a hit! Our waiter David from Spain was super awesome and down-to-earth and very helpful. We'll be back here again to check it out on another day.

We came chanting Olé, Olé, Olé as we approached Casa Dani (a SBE Hospitality Group & José Andrés collaboration) in the Westfield Century City Shopping Center, since we were there for another flavorful Spanish culinary experience in Los Angeles. My in-laws had raved about Casa Dani during their Thanksgiving visit to Honolulu, and I couldn't believe we waited until almost the last couple of days before our return home to come here. Entering the beautiful Casa Dani space, we were immediately welcomed by a gracious hostess who seated us in a comfortable banquette. The open kitchen and warm colored decor mixed with tropical ferns (faux) felt comfortable for enjoying family and friends' moments of leisure, as the Spanish culture is known for. We had a few moments to peruse the lunch menu, which featured both prix fixe and à la carte options, before our server approached us. My husband, a relative, and I chose the prix fixe menu for $39 which featured three courses (starter, entrée, and dessert). My other in-law decided to order à la carte (fritto misto $23 and lobster bocadito $36). We shared our starters among our foursome but "guarded" our entrees. FOOD: My husband and I chose the same entrees or 2nd-course items because we were drawn to the luxurious "The Burger That Made It All Make Sense" Wagyu beef burger. How could we not order that Wagyu beef burger with a name like that? But by the time we were ready to order dessert, they had run out of the Basque cheesecake, so we selected the caramelized rice pudding. -My 1st course, Oxtail Brioche, was a "slider" with sweet, savory, and tender slow-braised oxtail meat in a buttery brioche bun. Our server advised me to flip the top over onto the oxtail filling as the top bun's center was filled with an unctuous Signature sauce before cutting or biting into the slider. The Burger That Made It All Make Sense was every bit as decadently rich with its tender, juicy, and buttery-tasting meat sandwiched between a perfectly sized brioche bun and topped with cheese and Signature sauce. The bun did not "disintegrate" from the burger's juiciness or rich sauce even though I chose to cut the burger with fork and knife instead of picking it up to eat. Honestly, I was afraid that the juiciness would run down my hands if eaten by hand. I asked for medium-rare doneness and received a perfectly grilled burger. By the time we were ready to order dessert, around 2 pm, our server returned to our table and informed us that they had sold out of the Basque cheesecake, which I had my eyes on, so I opted for the caramelized rice pudding. It turned out to be a better decision as the rice pudding wasn't dense or heavy as a cheesecake would be. -My husband's 1st course, Chorizo and Ají Empanadas, was also a hit among us. The flavors of the mildly earthy-sweet chorizo and sofrito-based empanadas were enhanced by the tangy kick of the ají (sauce made with Amarillo peppers). The sauce reminded me of the creamy Peruvian Amarillo chile sauce condiment. His Wagyu burger was also juicy and flavorful but, to him, he requested to have medium-doneness but, it arrived medium-rare like mine. Still, he ate it with no complaints. Our server was very efficient and professional as he consistently checked on our water service, eating progress as he coursed out our meals, and promptly removed our used dishes. We felt that our lunch visit was as hospitable and welcoming as at other Jose Andres restaurants that we've dined at and would definitely return for lunch or dinner when we're in this shopping center.

Ambiance: the original Casa Dani in NY is closed, and it's LA location is newly opened on the ground level of Westfield mall. The corner spot is not so easy to navigate, and they have shared concierge service with the Japanese restaurant, where their dining areas are separated by an outdoor bar, the restroom is located at the Japanese restaurant section, old fashioned decorations, natural and green emphasized elements, the lighting is generally dim inside the restaurant, may not be favorable for everyone. Service: particularly disappointing, disorganized and weird pace. At one time, overwhelming amount of servers stopped by the table one after the other, apparently they didn't collocate with each other, such as asking the same questions repeatedly, then all the sudden so slow in replacing plates and utensils after they took away our plates and utensils for appetizers, but it's been such a long waiting time, that one dish became cold after we were finally served new plates and utensils, then again so rushed to clean the plates while we were still eating and finishing up the food. Anyway, it's not a pleasant service experience for fine dining. Food: their menu has a big emphasis over seafood Oxtail Brioche - *** topped with bull sauce, I was very much looking forward to it, turned out to be really mediocre Octopus Carpaccio - *** fennel, green apple, thin cuts of octopus, lack of flavors A Beautiful Tomato Salad - **** ingredients from the farmers market, rocoto pesto, refreshing taste, recommend Avocado and Bluefin Tuna Tartare - ** white soy sauce, basil oil, not high quality tuna Seafood Paella - *** saffron, prawns, mussels, according to the server, deliberately burnt rice to enrich the flavors, I liked the rice, although very small portions of seafood and all overcooked Today's Catch - *** a whole fish selection al pilpil cooking, fish quality was fine, be careful with all the fish bones, overall lack of flavors Price: small to moderate portions depends on the order, overall quality is alright, not quite worth $100 per person, I was lured by the brand of Dani García cuisines, and my honest suggestion is lower your expectations

I had visited Casa Dani with some very close friends 3 weeks ago, just as it opened, and had a disappointing experience. While the location was stunning, the service was very inattentive, the food was either too bland or too salty, the drinks were tiny or weak, and it was too dark and loud to enjoy. At the time, I posted an honest, but of course negative review of the restaurant, never expecting that they would fix any of this. That said, after some friends had positive experiences more recently, I decided to go back with another group last night to give it another shot. Long story short, the restaurant managed to take all of the feedback from comments online and I'm sure in person and has fixed basically everything that was wrong with the restaurant. The location remains beautiful and now that the lights are a little bit brighter, you can even see the details better. They have placed a small lamp at each table that allows you to actually see your menu and the food. They reduced the volume of the music to a reasonable level and now you can enjoy your party and hear the person next to you or even across the table without having to scream. This has made it dramatically nicer. The weight staff and managers are exceptionally attentive now going table to table, developing a relationship with you, and going so far as to cut some of the larger items such as the tuna carpaccio and to debone the fish right at your table. Props to manager Stefano who's the best in the business and Alex our server who were beyond professional. The drinks and appetizers were magnificent. We tried their margarita shots, numerous different cocktails, one of which was like an old-fashioned, all of which were superb and appropriately sized. Simply tell your server, what kind of drinks you like and they will decode their drink list for you and make some suggestions. They were spot on! Moving onto appetizers, we had the avocado and basically anything that had tuna in it. From the carpaccio that comes on a gigantic plate to both tartares. All were fantastic and decently sized! The Duo Tartare was to die for. It's not cheap but it's large and has exceptionally high quality expensive cuts of tuna in it. Presentation is gorgeous as well. The tomato tartare was the surprise hit of the dinner. Delicious with a slight kick. The babaganoush was beautiful, tasty and well portioned. And the Caesar salad was enough for 4 of us to each have a decent and delicious portion. So many apps came with their bread, which was toasted on a grill and perfectly accompanied the food. We did not order the paella this time as we had had it last time. However, looking at other tables, it appears that the paella is now significantly more substantive in amount, and contains a lot more meat or fish on it than it did when we were there last. People were commenting on how delicious it was, suggesting that they figured out the correct amount of salt. What is nice is that they also created a half portion of paella, which is enough for two people, rather than forcing you to buy a massive one that could serve four. As for sides, the farmers market vegetables were very good and the creamy potato purée was out of this world. I could easily have ordered another one. We are not big meat eaters so we went for two of the fish. We ordered the catch of the day times two. And unlike a few weeks ago when it was just a single option, they now have four different fish options, which you can see sitting on ice as you walk into the restaurant on your right hand side. We are regulars at Avra and love fresh Mediterranean fish. And what we had was nothing less than a work of arch. Perfectly salted, perfectly flavored, came with grilled lemon slices unlike last time, and the fish were each massive. Each order was literally enough for all four of us so we ended up having to take much of the second fish home. Nonetheless, having tried both, it is impossible to go wrong. When we asked to order two different fish, they suggested two fish. They had different types of texture and flavor so that we could have some diversity in our menu. Finally, with the desserts, we had a flan, Keylime pie, Chocolate mousse, and rice pudding. The desserts were certainly the highlight of the evening after a magnificent meal! Every one of them was substantially portioned, absolutely delicious, and fresh, and very unique. I say that in a very good way. Now after having gone to Casa Dani once they had figured out the kinks in their staffing, ambience, and food as well as their selections, I can strongly recommend it. It's possible to go there and spend a very reasonable amount of money but based on what you order, you can also go in and spend a fortune. It's entirely up to you and what you'd like to eat and how much of it. You may simply feel tempted to order a lot because it's amazing.

$21 dessert is basically a mousse with melted ice cream on top???
    Marie C.

Lots of kinks to work out but has potential Server was way too green "Give me a vodka martini - oh do you want our specialty martini it's great." No I want a martini I'd like a skinny marg "oh you should definitely try our specialty 21 drink it's basically a skinny marg. No I want a skinny marg. Like WTF Appetizers were not great Tuna croquets were sold as "sushi on top of croquets an ode to Katsuya next door" Check out the photos... really? Also melty cheese with tuna don't work together or is it just me? Truffle onion Tortilla slice was served lukewarm might have been better warmer Gamba frita were delicious the dipping sauce they could bottle They redeemed themselves with their paella and it was so damn delicious best I've ever had (& I just flew back from Barcelona) Cheesecake with Parmesan shavings on top I will dream about & will return for

We came on a lively weekday evening. They don't do reservations, but we were warmly greeted and quickly seated with lavash and butter on our table immediately. The restaurant has a beautiful and romantic atmosphere, with hybrid indoor/outdoor courtyard dining. Our waiter was attentive and made us feel very welcomed. I'd give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could!

Love love love this spot. I've dined in numerous times and also ordered delivery from here…read more The food is always shockingly delicious! Each individual item is great on its own but the combination of flavors is what really takes it over the top for me. I usually get the kefta plate, but decided to try the shewarma this time and it was great. Boyfriend loved his salmon plate and insisted we come back :) We also tried the cinnamon halva shakes (not pictured) which were interesting, but not what either of us expected. Very creamy and not too sweet, with the tahini flavor overpowering the cinnamon. The ambiance of this spot is great - love the intimate patio area with string lights. There was a fire going in the stove too which was super cozy. One of my go to classy-casual spots!

First time trying Mizlala. It was an interesting food experience. It's Mediterranean food but their…read moreflavors were a bit different than what I'm used to. I got the schnitzel plate which came with rice, hummus, salad, pita bread, and mustard sauce. The mustard sauce really through me off since I was thinking more of toom sauce or tzatziki sauce. The rice had an odd taste, more on the bland side? However the pita was very hefty and pita pocket ready. The hummus was good with a few yellow chilies (super spicy). The schnitzel was hefty and huge portions almost like 5 pieces of chicken. With the portion size it's a decent price for it. Highly recommend trying out this new taste.
