Sophisticated restaurant, with a wide variety of food options. You can get everything from dinner to lunch. I enjoyed the music. And the flowers in the picture were real, how pretty. It was my first time trying scallops, & if you know anything about seafood you know that takes a lot of skill to be able to make as a chef and it was absolutely terrific. As was the calamari. I got the pasta, and that was okay in my opinion, next time, I would definitely request it to be spicier, at least personal preference. The pasta has a very sweet tomato taste. But the beatable were very tasty, the server let us know everything was made to order, so I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem to request next time. The gumbo on the other hand was apparently, very spicy. I witnessed it first hand, with my friend sweating. Haha, make sure you can handle the fire! Excited I found a new gem, will definitely come back, and check in to try more of this diverse menu.

Nice work event, we had a semi private room on the second floor. Felt sorry for our hostess managing our large group single-handedly, but decent service despite the challenges and great apps (calamari was the bomb). I had the fish special (monkfish), as well as the burnt orange old fashioned. Not too salty, and left feeling full. Easy parking with a smaller private lot and more two hour parking next door, easy to miss entry if you don't turn right at the railroad.

Daily Fish with Crab Butter - Mahi Mahi topped with crab w/ a side of the vegetable of the day, sautéed mushrooms

Heritage opens at 11 for lunch. The place was mostly empty when we arrived today (Tuesday) for our 11:30 reservation. As we were sitting there, and we were only there about 40 minutes, the place filled up. Reservations are a good idea. The place had a nice, classy vibe. The servers were both congenial and competent. This was my first time, but my lunch companion was somewhat of a regular. To that end, seems most folks working recognized her. I was waiting for paparazzi! LOL She started with French Onion Soup, which she loved. She then had the Ham and Havarti sandwich with potato salad. She'd never had the potato salad before, but it came highly recommended. She was not pleased. It had a strong pickle flavor. I enjoyed it. She doesn't eat that much so she let me take half a sandwich and the potato salad home to Mark. He very much enjoyed all of it. I ordered one of the specials - Mahi Mahi served with crab butter and a topping of crab and a sprinkling of red peppers. It came with the vegetable of the day, which was sautéed mushrooms. Everything was delicious. The mushrooms had a lovely, genuine mushroom flavor. There was no sherry, nothing vinegary, just wonderful mushrooms. The Mahi Mahi was very good, but the way the plate was served, with the bowl of mushrooms sitting on a paper napkin on the plate soaking up some of my delightful crab butter, seemed like a miss. Some of the mahi mahi still sat in the butter and was quite delectable. Other bites, though not dry, were missing the extra pop of the crab butter.

Since day one I've had nothing but incredible service. Always greeted with a smile by the hostess, the seating area always clean and pleasant to look at, and at least once a week they will have someone come in and play live music on their guitar! I am a big big fan of their potato soup, their fries and the lamb chops, they also have REALLY good ranch (made in house)!!!!! The bar staff is friendly and can made a mean lemon drop martini, the waitstaff is humorous and charismatic, one of my favorites -Kirian never cease to improve and brighten my day!! I have been coming here for years now, whenever I get a chance when I'm visiting the area! the staff at Meritage really try (and succeed) to made dining with them very joyous and memorable experience! I am so happy they are still here through all the hardships they have endured and overcome over the past years!

Birthday lunch. This was my first time visiting this restaurant in the heart of Glendale. It is a lovely old building with beautiful furnishings. We were seated in a dining room on the first floor. My sister had the Chicken Tortilla soup and she really enjoyed it. The house salad was fresh and full of flavor. We all three ordered the Chicken Diavolo Pasta. Two of us substituted shrimp for the chicken. The pasta was slightly spicy and filling. Even though we were very satisfied with our food, we were enticed by the variety of desserts. Crème Brûlée was superb. The carrot cake and chocolate cake were large portions that were outstanding. Service was professional and on spot. We left happy with lots of leftovers to savor again. Highly recommend.

$5 Happy Hour small plate Bruschetta. Delicious and fresh ingredients.

Fantastic experience and food. My girlfriend and I went in for a happy hour appetizer and beer. We let the server know this and he was soo kind and engaging (I think his name is Ryland). We sat at his table for several hours, as we were catching up on each others lives. I reminded us, several times, to hang out as long as we wanted and just stop him if we need anything. The bruschetta was delightful and all ingredients tasted very fresh. My girlfriend got the French onion soup and said it was amazing. She ended up getting the basil pasta to-go and later messaged me that "that basil pasta was legitttt." Beautiful building inside that looks like an old historic home, with lovely live music.

This was my third dinning experience at Meritage, and unfortunately it wasn't great. We sat in the bar area, which I don't particularly care for, but I went with it. I had to wedge paper napkins under the leg of the table to make it stable. Bartender was our server and had a dry personality. Well until the check came. That's when they all perk up. If you know what I mean. It was prime rib night and I was really looking forward to it. We started out with the hummus appetizer. I think that's what it was. Horrible texture and mediocre flavor. The Mixed greens salad was the only thing I really cared for. Ordered the prime rib, MR. Looked beautiful but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Tons of fat, to be expected at times. But unfortunately the meat was very tough. I felt like I'd been in a heavy weight bout after trying to cut the stringy fat away from the tough meat. And the uneven base on the plate didn't help. Ended up taking it home and feeding to the hounds. I've had better at Meritsge, unfortunately this visit was a big fail.

Dam Good Bar & Grill in Sharonville is the real deal!…read more There are only three things that matter when it comes to a truly great restaurant: outstanding service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere -- and this place nails all three. I'm in town for work and staying at a nearby hotel when I stumbled across Dam Good. From the moment I walked in, I knew I'd found a gem. The staff greeted me like an old friend, the vibe was warm and lively, and the food? Absolutely incredible. It was so good that I've come back almost every single day of my trip just to work my way through more of the menu (and everything I've tried has been fantastic). If you're anywhere near Sharonville, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't be disappointed. Pro tip: Make sure you say hi to Mrs. Kitty -- she's part of what makes this place so special! The coconut shrimp looked burnt, but they were nicely crispy and tasty, and the Thai chili sauce went very well with them. The burger was very generic, but cooked well, and generously topped. The fries that are included with it were soggy, but I hope that is just because they were steaming in the container during the delivery, so that was unavoidable. The sides were pretty small for the price, but excellent. For my taste, the macaroni and cheese could use a little less cheese, so that the sauce would be creamier, but I know many people would strongly disagree with me. The potatoes and onions live up to their name, giving a sort of French onion soup impression - very good. The sweet potatoes have a lot of brown sugar, which I like. So, I wouldn't get a burger from them again, but I definitely recommend them for the other items, and look forward to trying other things from the menu.

    1. Parmesan-Crusted Pork Chop This plate came out looking…read moreserious. The pork chops had that golden, crunchy sear that lets you know the chef didn't cheat the pan. The crust is seasoned well, giving each bite a savory crunch before you hit the juicy center. The sauce on the bottom adds flavor but also runs a little thin, so it doesn't cling as much as you'd expect. The mashed potatoes are smooth, and those crispy fried onions on top add the right texture. Solid, comforting, and flavorful -- just needed a thicker reduction to tighten the plate. 2. Gnocchi with Braised Short Rib Sauce This dish is exactly what comfort food wants to be when it grows up. The gnocchi is soft, pillowy, and coated in a rich, slow-simmered sauce that tastes like somebody took their time building layers. You get a blend of tomato, parmesan, herbs, and that short rib flavor that carries the whole bowl. It's heavy -- in a good way -- and every bite feels like fall weather in a bowl. Definitely one of the stronger dishes. 3. Parmesan-Crusted Chicken with Green Beans & Tomato Relish The chicken is fried to that perfect "crisp but not greasy" level. The parmesan crust gives it a nutty, salty pop, while the tomato pieces add freshness to cut through the richness. The shredded parmesan on top melts just enough to tie everything together. The green beans are cooked right -- not soggy, still with a snap. The side dish (mac & cheese, most likely) is creamy with a buttery breadcrumb top that adds the right crunch. Overall, a well-balanced plate. 4. Spaghetti & Meatballs This is classic Italian comfort done the Cooper's Hawk way. The sauce is thick, tangy, and bright with tomato flavor. The meatballs are tender and seasoned well, and the touch of ricotta on top softens the acidity and makes the sauce creamy as you mix it in. The pasta is cooked right -- not mushy, not stiff, easy to twirl. Simple, hearty, and dependable. Overall Impression Cooper's Hawk came through with a table full of comfort and richness. Everything was plated well, seasoned properly, and cooked with intention. The standout dishes are the gnocchi and the parmesan-crusted chicken, but nothing on the table missed the mark.

We tried the Grilled Mahi sandwich ($17.99) and the Soup & Sandwich combo ($19.99). A glass of wine was $11 and a soft drink was $4.99. $70 with tax and tip. The term "upscale" seems to have become a euphemism for "more expensive than you thought it was going to be". I rated it 3 stars for several reasons. First, the food tasted very salty, almost to the point of us sending it back but we didn't because we had been waiting almost 30 minutes and were hungry. The slow service was reason two. Reason three was the price point. Five bucks for a coke? Twenty bucks for a soup and sandwich? The food was OK but the value just wasn't there. And reason four was the noise level. It was so loud I couldn't take an incoming cell phone call. Having said all that, they didn't seem to be hurting for business on a Friday afternoon so all I can say is it seems there are a lot of people out there who really like the place. If you're one of them, I think you'll find this Coopers Hawk a great place for lunch or dinner.

Sweet, fruity, and pretty... that green cocktail did exactly what it needed to do, lol. FIVE STARS! Now, on to the food... The Gator Bites are a MUST. I ordered the hot honey sauce on the side just to play it safe and I am glad I did, because babyyyy, that spice had no boundaries. If you're a lover of spicy things, you'll be good to order as is, lol! I also ordered the Roasted Oysters. Another MUST!
