On this day, was only able to get enoki chips and calamari since they don't serve sushi during the weekdays. My face was as perplexed as the stranger who sat next to me when he tried to order sushi off their current menu, only to be met with a can of disappointment. They need to have weekday menu since don't serve sushi AND they literally never seem to have Tsukemen available (2nd visit now). Service is better than most places; however, seating arrangements are odd to say the least. If you're lucky you'll get your own table but most of the time you have to sit next to or across from strangers. Then try not to awkwardly look at each other or play footsie by accident. First of all I want to start out by saying that the food was delicious! Loved the broth and the pork belly was so tender! Not overly spicy but very flavorful. Also ordered the nori calamari which I told was an exclusive menu item to this location and it was super delicious! But be warned, it's all legs. Very crispy and absolutely loved the lemon and seafood aioli it came with! Im satisfied with the service we received. The server helped answer any questions because I am the kind of person to ask for recommendations at new restaurants. The food also came out really quick and piping hot. Just wanted to point out since I've seen other reviews say otherwise. The restaurant itself is really cute but pretty small. I was worried it was going to be really busy because I came in on a Saturday afternoon but I was seated right away. The location is bigger than the Mesa one, but smaller than the Phoenix location. This was just right. This location is bright and has indoor and outdoor seating. This location is sized right in between the Mesa and Phoenix spots, not tiny and crowded like Mesa, but not as big as Phoenix. The interior is bright and modern, and they have a cool round table in the middle of the restaurant. There's also a sushi bar and an outdoor seating area. Our server was nice and helpful. We ordered my favorite Aji Fish Tempura, Garlic Edamame, Classic Ramen with duck on the side, and their Matcha Latte Pudding. Everything was just as amazing as at the other locations, the broth is rich, the duck is tender, and the Aji Fish Tempura, just perfect! We went on Friday (after new years) and it was pretty quiet. We sat on their patio since it was dog friendly. We got the fried enoki, vegan ramen, and the GKO. The broth of the ramen was so good, but would've loved more spice/heat. The enoki was unique but like someone else said a sauce would've been a nice accompaniment. The ramen was good, but coming from L.A (I know I know they're not big fans of L.A folk out here lol)....Ive gone to some of the best ramen spots and none were as pricy as this place. I think the only thing that is off putting is the price. The ramen was tasty as was the calamari. The restaurant is super cute, and im sure it's cute at night too. Service was great, they explained everything to us, which was nice! I wasn't a huge fan of the smoked egg for some reason. It wasn't bad, it was just a random-ish flavor to go with the ramen. Anyways! I'd come back maybe for a special occasion. It was $80 for two bowls of ramen and a calamari. I know this economy is expensive and all and you have to pay for overhead and ingredients. The calamari was really good, super crunchy and flavorful, probably my favorite thing I ordered. The ramen was creamy and rich, kind of like what you'd get in Japan. You can tell the noodles are made in-house they have that nice chewy texture. Flavor-wise, it was decent, but honestly, I've had better ramen in Phoenix for less. The prices here are definitely on the higher side. Service was good though. The staff explains what you're getting, which is nice, and they're attentive without being overly friendly (which I actually prefer). The place itself is really pretty, dim lighting, calm, quiet vibe perfect for a chill night out. Overall, not bad at all, but not amazing either. It was our first time trying Mensho. We went on a Friday around 4pm and there was no wait. The service was friendly and checked on us frequently. We got their GKO ramen, daikon salad, and takoyaki (not pictured). The ramen was delicious, but I did not enjoy the chicken that was in it. The 5 different garlics in it were so yummy! The daikon salad was light and refreshing. It was nice going from the creamy ramen to a refreshing salad. The takoyaki is something I would pass on. We get takoyaki whenever it is on a menu, and I would say this one did not stand out. The inside is decorated so nicely and the ambiance is nice. I live in the West Valley, so I was really excited when this location opened! My husband and I came here for lunch. The restaurant is super cute, and the servers are very nice. We ordered two appetizers and two ramen bowls. The Enoki Chips were really good -- I just wish they came with some kind of dipping sauce instead of salt (personal preference). The A5 Wagyu Negi Nigiri was also delicious and fresh, though the rice had a bit too much vinegar. For ramen, we ordered the Classic and the Tokyo Chaccha. I loved the Tokyo ramen -- the broth was rich and creamy. My husband had the Classic and said it tasted a bit sour, probably from the bamboo, but he still enjoyed it overall. The prices are definitely on the higher side. Our bill came out to about $100 after tip, and I felt the portions were a bit small for the price. I'd come back for a special occasion, but probably not just for the ramen since there are plenty of places in the Valley with better prices and portions. We reached out to the hostess to relocate outside, mind you, they just opened and it was completely empty. The hostess decided to give us this conceited look of disgust and asked why we wanted to move. We clearly explained why and the attitude she gave us was just disgusting. What is with the attitude? The place wasn't even busy and completely empty and if we wanted to move outside, it was our choice. If you don't want to be at your job, then don't. It was just me and my boyfriend, and there was an open corner table that normally seats four. The hostess told us we couldn't sit there because they wanted to save it for a larger party. This was with about an hour left before closing, the restaurant was clearly slowing down, and there was no wait. We asked our waitress, who said it was the hostess's decision and went to ask again, but the answer was still no. The interaction between staff felt dismissive and uncomfortable. We would've been more frustrated if we had stayed for dinner only to see that table remain empty all night. Because of how it was handled, we canceled our drinks and decided to leave. I have never been to a Ramen restaurant and I did not know what to expect. So we walked in and the place is very pretty. The tables and decor are very appealing and feel welcoming. We chose to sit at the bar seating to not take a larger table. It was perfect. Our waiter, Kevin was excellent. We explained it was our first time and we were not familiar with some of the words so he explained all we needed to know. I chose to keep it simple so I just had the classic and added the egg. It was delicious. Like nothing I have ever had before but really really good. The egg was my favorite part. The egg was marinated and smoked and had some soft boiled yolk still in it. It tasted so wonderful with the ramen. And the pork was fabulous. My son had the classic and added the garlic. What a flavorful find. Get the garlic mix and sprinkle all over the ramen bowl. YUM.
