Idk what a soft opening is but we went and checked this place out. The service was really good, the bathrooms and seating area were great and clean. The quality of food, was not the best... The presentation was good but some of the fish tasted fishy and didn't taste great. The wagyu beef was yummy! When you walk it you are greeted by the hostess desk and hostess on the left. When went on Friday August 7th around 6 pm and it was busy. But we were seated right away. Our waitress was Jade and she was very attentive through the whole service. We did the all you can eat which for dinner is $34.99 a person. We started with sushi pizza with snow crab and golden avocado. Both were VERY good. We also got some edamame. That was our first round. You can order 5 things each at a time. Four my next round I got a shaggy dog roll. Now this is a whole roll not just a few pieces. And yellow tail carpaccio which was one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth lol. My friend ordered a deep fried soft shell crab which she said was good. And I think that was all we got. She got a Sapporo and I got a Diet Coke. The only thing I will say is alcohol there is very overpriced. Otherwise the food was very good taste was amazing, presentation was on point. Staff was great. When you walk in you can not tell this was ever a village inn. The music is not to loud it very nice inside. I will be going back and trying other thing. The Pizza and avocado are very filling. Food was good, but the service was a different story. We waited about 15-20 minutes before a server even came over to greet us. For a group of three ordering just one piece of each nigiri, it took surprisingly long for our food to come out. Our server also wasn't great at keeping track of whether we needed anything else, so we had to keep asking. The food was either really fast or really slow there was no in-between, and the timing felt very inconsistent. The food was good. It's a new all you can eat on the west side but this some strings attached. First rule is the 2 hrs which is pretty normal. Second is that the sashimi and Nigiri have an extra dollar per piece. Third is the have some prices that are a max of 2. Fourth is that you can only order 5 things at a time. (This is seems to be one they are trialing with the soft open as it hard to do with a table of 4 and the sashimi is one piece at a time). Last rule I can remember was kids are by height which has become popular in the newer AYCE places lately. For the overall place, it was hard to believe that this place was a village Inn before because the inside they completely redid and gave it a nice clean glossy look they definitely had a more upscale vibe. The servers were amazing, tentative fast and the sushi sets are really good. They had hand roles regular rolls and different type of meat. Teppanyaki is very good. Good for anyone, even if they aren't into sushi. I am excited about the grand opening in August as this soft opening seems to make it a great option over driving to Tempe/mesa. read more

Hubby and I went last night. Outside it has the Soft Opening sign. It was busy, the hostess seated us right away. All the seatings are booth seating. The waitress explained how the AYCE menu worked. You start by ordering 5 items at a time per person. I had miso soup. It was very delicious. Very authentic, umami flavors. If you order nigiri, it is one piece. Rolls like California rolls come in 8 pieces. I also ordered shrimp tempura 1 pc, tempura soft shelled crab, 1 pc. The beef short ribs,yum. Wagyu nigiri yum. Everything was delicious. Even the sushi pizza topped with tuna was yum. Our waitress was so quick to remove empty plates and if not her, the other servers were readily available to help. Now, if you ordered more than your stomach can handle, they will charge you for any leftover food. Unfortunately you are not allowed to pack any to take with you. We ended up stuffing ourselves. lol. They offer foods from the hibachi, fried rice, soups, udon, carpaccio in this yummy ponzu. Assorted appetizers. Even dessert, if you have room. read more

After hearing about the new #1 AYCE Sushi in the Target shopping center on Northern Avenue in Peoria, we decided to give it a try during their soft opening--and we're really glad we did! The restaurant is in the old Village Inn building, and they have completely transformed the interior. It looks modern, clean, and inviting. Their official grand opening is August 1, but they're already off to a great start. We went for an early dinner around 4:30 p.m. The restaurant has the standard all-you-can-eat sushi rules (don't waste food, two-hour dining limit, etc.), which is completely reasonable considering the value. We started with a few appetizers, including the coconut shrimp and baked mussels, both of which were excellent. One unique item that really stood out was the Sushi Pizza, made with crispy tempura rice as the base. It was absolutely delicious--just be warned that it's surprisingly filling! We also shared a bottle of nigori sake, which paired perfectly with the meal. The sushi itself was excellent. One thing I really appreciated was that the rolls weren't overloaded with rice like many AYCE sushi restaurants tend to do. Instead, they had a great balance of rice and generous fillings, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. Every roll we tried was fresh and flavorful. One thing worth mentioning: when a roll is labeled "spicy," they actually mean it! So if you enjoy some heat, you'll appreciate that they don't hold back. Around 5:00 p.m. the place absolutely exploded with business. They were getting slammed with dine-in guests, takeout orders, Uber Eats, and DoorDash. I could see the ticket screen near the sushi bar filling up nonstop. Even with the rush, the kitchen and sushi chefs stayed organized, food continued coming out at a reasonable pace, and nobody seemed overwhelmed. It was obvious that the staff was working hard and doing a great job. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, which is especially impressive considering they've only been open about a week during this soft opening period. Peoria has really needed a quality all-you-can-eat sushi option. Until now, the closest choices have been in Surprise or Avondale, and while there's another AYCE spot near Arrowhead Mall, this was a much better experience in our opinion. If you're looking for fresh sushi, a huge menu, friendly service, and great value, I definitely recommend giving #1 AYCE Sushi a try. They're putting in the effort to make this restaurant a success, and I hope the community supports them. We'll definitely be back! read more

Unprofessional Service Very disappointing experience. We were told that if one person at the table orders all-you-can-eat, everyone has to order it, and no one can order à la carte. The bigger issue was the poor customer service. We weren't given enough time to look at the menu before multiple servers came over to take our menus away because we hadn't made a decision. One server didn't even know the restaurant offered an à la carte menu, which added to the confusion. When we asked to speak with a manager, the response was, "Why? What's the problem?" instead of trying to resolve the issue. Overall, the staff was rude, unprofessional, and lacked communication skills. Unfortunately, I would not return. Update: The manager apologized and was very sorry for how her team and the manager under her acted. She was extremely shocked by everyone's mannerisms and actions and showed a lot of empathy. She actually wanted to get to know what actually happened. Because of how empathetic and understanding the manager was. I've changed my rating to a 2 star only because I haven't tried the food yet and managements apologized and took accountability. read more

Interior is very pleasant. Very classy surroundings. Ordering was simple enough and the menu provided pictures of the dishes, which is great for someone like me who doesn't eat much sushi so I don't really know what to expect when I'm trying something new other than a California roll. Haha. Price point was good for a buffet for the amount of food you could possibly enjoy. Fortunately, I didn't eat much prior during the day so I was able to take in a good amount of new dishes. We visited AYCE as a party of 5 on Friday night, 7/17. It was not busy and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. Our server Jade was very sweet, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave some great recommendations! I love that the portions are on the smaller side so you can really pace yourself. I tried a variety of meats, appetizers, rolls and an order of salmon sashimi. The fish was very fresh. Overall, we had a great experience and will be back! I found a New AYCE sushi restaurant. Service was great and food was delicious. I ordered lunch and there was a nice basic selection of nigiri and rolls for $24.99. Dinner offers a wider selection of options for $34.99. Cassie was my server and she was fabulous. I have a gluten allergy and I was happy to see many items on the menu are marked as gluten free. The items served did not have the extra rice like so many other AYCE places. You can order 5 items at a time. They have a sign that says soft opening and the grand opening is August 1.
