This Menards is considerably better, as customer service goes, than the one in Reynoldsburg. Their selection of stuff is second to none and their prices are quite good on most things. Granted I only looked at shelving, lumber and lights and not at much else but at least those three things are pretty good price-wise and the people there were actually friendly and seemed like they'd be interested in helping, which again is a far cry from Reynoldsburg Menards. If I'm in the area I'd go back to this Menards but I'm usually not near here so it's sort of moot. read more

There are no words to describe my unconditional love for Menards. I came from Illinois where there was a Menards 10 minutes away. We moved to Ohio into a fixer upper house and drove 40 minutes each way to Marion to go to that Menards for our supplies. There prices are so good, that it was worth 80 minutes round trip. They do NOT honor rebates. We've tried for months to get our 159.00 rebate. We've called mngr Brad who said he'd get it sent. It did not come. We emailed rebate international two times. No response. Emailed corporate office. No response. Called corporate office. Told us they could do nothing. If you're shopping for the rebates then don't bother. The store and corporate WILL rip you off. Yes... The prices are pretty good.... But the customer service is TERRIBLE! Wanted to buy a patio set but there was nobody there to help....and most of the stuff did not have prices marked. Asked for help and the employee said they would send somebody over. They never came even after a pretty long wait. Finally, took off the tags and went to the service desk... Nobody there. Waited. Nobody came. Finally got in a cashier line to have them scan it. Brought my husband back the next day. Again, it took forever to get some help. Prices were completely mismarked. Went to pay and my husband used a $100 bill. Cashier had to have a manager check it out. Fine with that. But when the manager brought it back, he started teasing the cashier with it....handing it to her and then jerking it away and laughing. Over. And over. And over again. Seriously? There was a line. The man behind us rolled his eyes, shook his head and then made a comment to me about the ridiculous behavior. The manager never even looked at the customers or line at all. It was like we didn't even exist. You can definitely tell why the customer service is terrible when the lack of regard for the customers so obviously starts at the top! There were other instances of poor customer service during my visit, but those two times were the most obvious. We just moved into our home near this Menards, so we will probably be back. But we sure won't buy any big ticket items there because I don't want to deal with this mess on a bigger scale!! read more

Pretty good, in comparison to Lowe's and Home Depot. They have a pretty large selection and it's much easier to find someone who will actually help you (instead of running in the other direction like I've seen some do at the Lowe's on Silver Dr). We bought paint, brushes, tape, some hardware, lightbulbs, glass lightshade replacements, windows blinds, and we looked at flooring and curtains. They have lots of random things you wouldn't think of, like some dry goods groceries. They have lots of tools, but they don't have a saw, we had to go elsewhere for lumber with basic cuts. All in all not bad, though I'd rather go to a locally owned spot like Beechwold Hardware when I can. read more

We purchased a patio furniture set online from Menards. I was suspicious when I couldn't find any Q and A or reviews on this product. Backyard Creations patio furniture (Tanner Falls set). After paying top dollar and then paying an exorbitant shipping charge we received the set and found the color doesn't match pictures, the table was some sort of "Wetherstone-solid surface" which is basically cheap plaster and fiber glass. Looks and feel cheap. This table is very heavy and is not easily relocated for storage. The top looked like it was painted by a two year old and the underneath was so poorly finished I was stabbed by some random fibers when trying to move it. The chairs were no better. they sit low and rock back so if you have any hope of eating at the table you have to sit at the very edge of the chair. The chairs just fit under the table but when you sit and rock back they hit the underneath of the table. Total disappointed in the quality across the board. We will be returning...hope that Menards steps up and does the right thing by taking this back and refunding shipping.... read more

I came here because they sent me a flyer and a coupon (yaay coupon) in the mail. I entered through the garden center as I was hoping to find a nice wireframe compost bin to replace my currently-full-of-rotting-vegetables rubbermaid tote. There were only the tumblers in stock, but I was able to find a nice roll of chicken wire that will work fine. I was hoping to get a window fan for my ancient casement window, but every single type of twin window fan was out of stock -- understandable given the recent weather. The prices looked pretty good, though, ranging from $20-30 for a basic unit. I also picked up some eco-friendly dish soap for $1. This place should really hand out maps when you arrive. There aren't exactly clear lines of sight to the different departments, so it's kind of confusing trying to find your way around. After leaving the fan department, I found myself in the cold cereal aisle, which was a little surreal! This is a little far to drive for my general hardware/home improvement (or rather, patch up the old apartment) needs, but it's a pretty cool alternative to Lowes or the local Target. read more

Went their this morning for some wood to build my veggie garden. I was able to find exactly what I needed and for really cheap too. Somehow I managed to get 14 bags of soil & manure, wood for a 7ft x12ft trellis (squash & watermelon), and wood (8ft, 3x5', 3x10' for $70 The guys were really helpful and gave us a few sugestions. The guys around the store kept seeing me staring at the wood and (I guess) assumed I didnt know what I was doing; hareware store + being a woman can confuse some men. Besides, the hubby was there helpig lift stuff I couldnt (didnt want to). I like the thoughtfulness of the workers though, they were looking out for me and trying to be nice..so thank you. This place has everything we needed for our veggie garden and had lower prices then even walmart. I'm sold for life! read more

I recently went to Menards in Auburn Hills Mi I was looking for vinyl flooring to be installed Found what I was looking for and went to desk to tell them I needed it installed Was given 3 names of installers Called the first on. He answered right away asked if this evening was ok or did I prefer next morning. I replied this evening would be preferable as I would be in and out the next day He never showed. I went on the internet with contractors info page to find out what I could about him , the only comment on his work was POLICE RECORD . I know Menard does not guarantee contractors work which is written in small print on there contractors forms BUT. Next referral I looked up was a picture of a man. Only comment on his work was the fact that he had his picture taken 5 times by a internet app. Third referral was a large construction company with information they had over 60,000 contractors I could contact. Sales representative was very unkind and kept referring to the fact that Menard was not responsible for the contractors they recommended. Long story short do not buy anything from Menard that has to be installed as apparently any body can fill out a contractors form. Menards does not do any due diligence on behave of their customers--safety, work ethics, licensed , better business bureau etc. read more

I found two rugs that said they were on clearance for 5.99. So I decided to purchase them well when I was cashing out I noticed that they were ringing up as 12.99 so After about 20 minutes of trying to figure out how much they cost the manager told me that they could only give them to me for 7.99. I spent over $200. I just think that is poor business. Not to mention I was changed for something I didn't even get. And the broom I just got was broken. I usually have good experiences here. If Menard's management is reading this you guys seriously need to recruit some construction savvy folks. Menards products are "cheap", i.e., low quality. Everything I've purchased from Home Depot is of high quality and I seriously doubt whether or not the price was much more. Even so, for a superior quality, longer lasting material, etc., etc., it would be worth it!! On the positive side of Menards, I do like the layout of their store. read more

After reading the reviews and seeing their recent flyer that has a stone garden bed border that I like, I drove to this place. The first visit was fine, I was able to buy the borders and pay without a problem (skipped the long line outside and went inside the store). After trying out the stone borders, I decided to stay with one color for our yard. I went back the next day to exchange the stone borders. I was sent to 5 different places to accomplish this small task. After forty five minutes of going from 2 cashiers, to customer service, to contractor's desk then back to cashier, I found out I have to drive to the back of the store, go through a gate with a guard to be let in, wait for a staff person to load the merchandise, back to the gate for the guard to inspect my trunk and check the merchandise. I would not come back to this place. The set up is terrible, each person is assigned to one simple task and can not do more than their single purpose job. Jacob from the yard was a big help, he put a smile on my face,the best person that works there. As far as the prices and selections, it's pretty much personal choices and not cheap enough. Their operation manager should go back to school and set up the flow of the store better. There is no plastic or paper offered to cover your trunk for the yard item purchased. My husband and I go to this store on a weekly basis for a number of things. We have recently started remodeling our bathroom and ordered most of our supplies through Menard's. First our surround for the bathtub came in, corner was damaged. Then the vanity top drawer is broken. We ordered new glass block for the window, it was chipped. We went to Menard's once at the end of January and have been back every week to return the damaged goods we have received from here. After voicing our dissatisfaction today, we were told too bad so sad. I am very disappointed and will not go back to this store. read more

I just moved into a new Clintonville apartment a few months ago and what sold me on the place is the HUGE back patio I now get to enjoy all spring/summer/fall long. I needed some cheap supplies for my planned garden and Menards was just the place to come. Their garden section is AMAZING. They have all kinds of flowers, trees, pots, soils, and supplies at great prices. I bought a beautiful dahlia plant for $14.99 and a peony bush for $9.99. The potting soil and gardening soil here are also a great deal. I know once I'm ready to buy a home, this is the place I'll be coming for all my home improvement/updating needs. read more

We've been shopping for bamboo flooring, and their on-sale 5/8" flooring was about the same price as Home Depot's thinner 3/8" flooring... good deal. We purchased a vanity and faucets from Menards and we love the products and we were very happy with the customer service we received. When the vanity came to the store, they delivered it to our home but the facuets hadn't come in yet so an associate, Tonya, hand delivered the faucets to our home after she was already off work just so my husband wouldn't have to drive across town to get them. Tonya really went above and beyond. We wish we had a Menards closer to us, if we did, we'd shop there all the time. read more

I recently purchased a classic picnic table kit, and it was only after I finished staining all the pieces that I noticed that one board was just a little too warped to be used, something I really should have discovered before I started working on it. Anyway, I walked in with the stained board, and without question I was given a new board from another kit. Anyone who hasn't been to a Menards is paying too much. Anytime I need to do anything at home I come here. I built about 60 bookshelves to start a bookstore and I saved $1500 if I would have gone to one of the other stores. The wood that I used was $10 cheaper per board so it added up quick. I needed to pick up one more piece and I went to HD to get it and paid the $10 more and got home and saw that the wood from Menards was cleaner and more straight. Overall fantastic. read more

The cashiers are pleasant, and if you purchase a heavy and/or large item, they ask if you need assistance! Pulled off what David Copperfield couldn't...made 3'x3'x6' deck box disappear. After ordering online and waiting one month for it's arrival I was finally informed that my product had arrived. Already peeved that my 45 dollar refund voucher could not be applied online and I'd have to pick it up, return it two minutes later and then rebuy in person using the voucher I drove 20 minutes to pick it up. After a 44 minute wait was told "dunno where it is". "Seriously?", "Yup", "so what now?" "I reckon you could order it again", "ok, this sucks, but you'll deliver it when it comes in another month from now, yes?", "I suppose but they'll be a delivery charge", "wait, what? You won't deliver free of charge all things considered?", "No but if you like I can get my manager", "ok please do",...22 minutes later "hmm, can't find him either... Next!?" Another woman in an orange shirt who said she worked there wanted to know why I was so angry and wanted to argue about it. Never did help me. Won't go there again. Will NEVER shop there again. On my first visit to purchase a lawnmower, I had to ask three different people before anyone would help me. I purchased the lawnmower, and after just a few weeks, I discovered it had an oil leak. The manager at Menard's told me there was nothing they could do for me. It was their policy not to accept returns or exchanges on mowers that already had gasoline or oil in them. My position that they sold me a defective product was irrelevant to them. Instead, they referred me to a service center nearly 20 miles from my home. I asked if there was one closer, and they said no. I therefore assumed it was a manufacturer's authorized service center. Wrong again. The manager at the service center told me that Menard's referred their lawn mower business to them for some reason. When I said that at least he got business from it, he replied that it was not business that he wanted because Menard's had treated the customers so badly, there were all extremely ticked off by the time they got to him. He said Menard's was by far the worst home improvement center he knew of. Menard's is THE WORST at service!!!! read more

I think that I like Menards better than Lowe's and Home Depot because of the wide variety of products they offer and in such massive quantities. The store is huge yet still very well organized. The prices are competitive if not a little cheaper. Only complaint is that they are always very busy making it difficult to just get in and get right back out without having to park a mile away and then try to get right in for your item and back out. Could be that I'm just going during peak times however my trips are very random. I could also say that it's difficult to get in and out because they have so much to offer at such attractive prices making you want to stop and look around. read more

Today was my first visit to the Menards on Morse road the staff were very helpful over all a satisfied customer

Have been to this store several times. If you can pick up exactly what you need, the place is fine; however don't expect to get any help from the floor staff. They are hard to find when you need them and when you do find them they are clueless! Today I found a clearance section in the rear of the store with door, windows and skylights. I found a some large Velux skylights that were marked down to $50. I couldn't use one that large, but found a couple of smaller ones in the same bins, but they were not priced. I figured that if the big ones were marked down to $50, the much smaller ones would be $25-$30. Took it up to the cashier and it rang up for $214. I questioned one if the managers located by the cashier and he advised that not everything in the area I was looking in were not on sale and refused to go back and look. I did not get it. After check out, I went back to look for myself and sign said "up to 75% off". Again I questioned the manager by the cashier; then talked to the store manager and both just blew me off! Absolutely no customer concerns (or personality) with this team! Bigger question is "Why don't they put the actual price on the boxes?" The other merchandise in this area was clearly marked. I was looking for bolt cutters, took me a minute to locate an employee to help me find them, once I did - e was very nice, but couldn't find what I needed, I did however find the item with a little of his help. Went to the new store in Lewis Center. First time in a Menards, and I wasn't expecting much from their TV ads. The store was a nightmare. From eerie lighting to really cheap merchandise, if you're looking for a terrible and strange shopping experience this is it. It seems about one step up from a Big Lots store - piles of dog chews next to light bulbs next to wilted plants and so on. Anyone who raves about this place has been living in the hills without electricity or running water for far too long. I left feeling like I needed to be steam cleaned. Great place to buy stuff you can carry out, but never, ever, ever have anything ordered for you. Ordered cabinets; one didn't show up. Ordered crown molding; got the wrong color and style. Ordered countertops, got the wrong style. Still fighting with them over that. They want me to pay for uninstalling, reinstalling, pickup and delivery.
