Honestly this was one of the best dining places we went to while in Pigeon Forge. We came here after an all day trip to Dollywood and we wanted a hot meal to get out of the cold. We were seated immediately and the waitress was super nice. She could tell we were not used to the cold being from Louisiana and had a friendly conversation with us. The steak tips omg so good. Hubs said his club sandwich was one of the best he had ever gotten which says a lot bc he eats a lot of club sandwiches. We ate for a very reasonable price. We were too full off junk food to try the banana split they are known for but it looked really good. Make a stop here and thank me later. read more

Beyond worth it the jukebox the service the atmosphere everything was just overall breathtaking it brings back so much nostalgia especially with the beeper to wait to be seated got here at 9pm was gone before 940 everything is made fresh to order I love my bacon burger and the chili cheese fries out this world my wife loved the patty melt definitely will go back !! Super cute 50s style diner with a no nonsense hostess which we loved. Everything moved along quickly and the service was great. We had a jumbo grilled cheese with fries, a Ruben with fries, and chicken tenders with fries as well as 2 sides of the fried corn on the cob and we were happy with everything we ordered. The only negative is you can call it that was the Ruben was a bit dry but an extra side of dressing fixed that. The corn was super sweet and I didn't need any salt or butter for it. read more

Cool, old joint. Takes me back to when I was a kid. The place was packed, but things moved along nicely, and the wait wasn't long. Our server, Nicole did great. The music was loud, but it was good. My wife didn't care for her chicken strips, but the chocolate malt she had, made up for it. She really enjoyed that. I tried the meatloaf, and thought it was really good. Potato's and gravy and green beans were good too. The menu is big, so I'll have to come back and try some other items. read more

My family and I went a few nights ago to Mel's diner and we will definitely be back. We went during dinner rush so they said it would be a 30 minute wait but it was not even 30 minutes. When we got into the restaurant you are very packed in there so it's noisy but that's not an issue. We expected them to take a little bit to make our food since it was busy and we had 4 people but it took 7 MINUTES!!! THATS AMAZING! To top it off the food was amazing and flavorful and you get huge portions. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Absolutely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Bravo, well done!! The service was good, the food was great and the atmosphere is super fun! This place used to be spot on, but it's really much less than that now. It's just like seeing an old friend who has really gone to pot. So sad. Food was OK, french fries were nice and hot. Pepsi tasted a little bit chemical, as if someone didn't clean out the machine all the way. Not sure what that was all about. Just a disappointing meal. read more

we visit here every time we come to pigeon forge, they have awesome burgers. It's a bit pricey as diners go but the atmosphere here is great, never had a bad meal or a bad server here. if you get a milkshake prepare for brain freeze. read more

The people were super nice, the place is definitely clean and has a super fun theme. I was astonished at how quickly the food came out, which also has the potential downside of it not being well crafted. Everything we was, I would say, above average. Honestly, I mainly chose it because we brought our whole family there and we wanted something fun, fast, and reasonably priced. This hit on all three counts. But you shouldn't expect culinary excellence. read more

We were trying to look for a place... any place open on the 4th of July at 9pm. I called about 12 places with no luck. So we were driving around and saw....... an open sign!!! Foooooood! So we walked in and said we wanted to get an order to go. My daughter has been here before and said they have really goos shakes. So we ordered 2 chocolate shakes, chicken philly sandwich, and grilled cheese with fries. It wouldn't seem hard to ruin philly sandwiches, but most places butcher them. My family and myself visited Mel's Diner and our waitress Cassie went out of her way to make sure we had a GREAT visit and that everything we ordered was served the way it was ordered ...she was very friendly and attended to our every need we will be back for sure I just hope that if we dont get Cassie again that the next server can fill her shoes read more

I got so sick after eating this food and it was NOT even cheap. Super overpriced, very low quality food. The burger tasted like it was made out of sausage, and I asked the waitress why and she didn't have an answer. It was the nastiest burger I have ever tasted. My stomach killed me the rest of the day because of this food, I have no idea why so many people were there. Please don't go here. read more

This place if a hoppin' place and I understand why after our visit. The wait was about 30 minutes, but we got in sooner by sitting at the bar. We really enjoyed watching the magic of the well oiled machine in action in such tight spaces. Felt like we were part of the crew in the middle of it all. I do regret not getting a milkshake as they looked fantastic. I can tell you the burgers are mouth-watering great and the prices are wonderful, but especially compared to pretty much anything else on the parkway in PF, or even fast food drive-thrus for that matter. The ambiance and music really helps you step back in time. If you are looking for a great inexpensive meal, Mel's is for you. read more

On our visit to Tennessee we ate at Mel's Diner twice! The food was so delicious here! The service was amazing, everyone was so sweet to us! My favorite was the cheese sticks. Those were the best cheese sticks I've ever had! The pancakes, hash browns, and sweet tea were good! Overall amazing food, and atmosphere! Will definitely come back here on our next visit! Just another tourist trap with below average food. Ordered their "world famous" cheeseburger, only to be surprised with a pre formed frozen patty cheeseburger...that was...not exactly famous, unless if they meant famous for being gross? Ambiance was pretty cool...place was super busy, and waitresses were hustling piles of food to ravenous customers...so apparently i may be the inly one who prefers a world famous cheeseburger to be a patty someone formed with their bare hands. read more

I recommend you go here and ask to sit in Patrick's section, you will not regret it!! The food was good (jumbo grilled cheese, famous Reuben, chubby checker burger, and the chili cheese hot dog), but the service was outstanding! Patrick was awesome. Made our entire meal. Really cool little place. This place was packed but we were very comfortable. Our waitress was great but she suffered no fools! Very hard to find a good fried bologna sandwich these days but Mel's has them. Delicious desserts too. Play some tunes on the jukebox while you're there. Would highly recommend. read more

Came here on a Friday night and it was packed! We waited about 25 minutes to get a table. Ordered a short stack of pancakes which comes with 2, a biscuit, and a vanilla milkshake. The milkshake was basic and plain, not much flavor or sweetness. Didn't even come with whipped cream. The biscuit was gross and spongey. I don't recommend. However, the pancakes were delicious!! So thick and fluffy it almost melted in my mouth. The syrup was perfectly sweet and had a great taste. My boyfriend ordered a burger and fries. The fries were pretty thick but super crispy and tasted great. I guess the items are sort of a hit or miss. It was a cute diner though read more

Her tone, attitude, and the way she spoke to me made me feel uncomfortable the entire time. It felt like we were a burden just for being there. I ended up completely losing my appetite because of how mean and cold Marsha was, and I actually left the table crying over it. (I work in healthcare so I have thick skin). Going out to eat is supposed to be enjoyable, not something that leaves you feeling embarrassed and humiliated. I understand everyone can have bad days, but there's no reason to treat customers with that level of disrespect. I was asking a simple question of getting an order to go and about the lunch. I really hope management takes customer service more seriously because no one should leave a restaurant crying and feeling the way I did.

Come here on a warm sunny night around 7 for the best sunset experience !
