Friends and I came and traveled all the way ti TN from Chicago for fun and I really enjoyed my time here: We had to wait about 30-45 mins due to a long wait around 10-11 PM, and there's parking outside which is amazing. Service was okay due to it being packed. I got my food really late and it's okay! Food was decent. I ordered chili and it's saltier than I expected, but it's pretty good. The fried corn was not even warm, but it was tasty. Hubs got the cheese omelette & toast. He said it was very good. Service was meh...the staff seemed more interested in each other than they did customers. I was hoping for a bit of a 'diner' atmosphere, recommendations on what to have, engaging regarding the dessert menu, etc. However, other than being loud & crowded, the atmosphere fell flat. One of the biggest surprises while visiting Pigeon Forge was the lack of restaurants open past 10pm: this is a tourist town whose biggest destination (Dollywood) closes at 10! I had the pot roast, which was delicious and hit the spot after a long day. Fried okra was delicious! The wife had pulled pork which was also delicious. Honestly this was one of the best dining places we went to while in Pigeon Forge. We came here after an all day trip to Dollywood and we wanted a hot meal to get out of the cold. We were seated immediately and the waitress was super nice. She could tell we were not used to the cold being from Louisiana and had a friendly conversation with us. The steak tips omg so good. Hubs said his club sandwich was one of the best he had ever gotten which says a lot bc he eats a lot of club sandwiches. We ate for a very reasonable price. Super cute 50s style diner with a no nonsense hostess which we loved. Everything moved along quickly and the service was great. We had a jumbo grilled cheese with fries, a Ruben with fries, and chicken tenders with fries as well as 2 sides of the fried corn on the cob and we were happy with everything we ordered. The only negative is you can call it that was the Ruben was a bit dry but an extra side of dressing fixed that. The corn was super sweet and I didn't need any salt or butter for it. read more

Cool, old joint. Takes me back to when I was a kid. The place was packed, but things moved along nicely, and the wait wasn't long. Our server, Nicole did great. The music was loud, but it was good. My wife didn't care for her chicken strips, but the chocolate malt she had, made up for it. She really enjoyed that. I tried the meatloaf, and thought it was really good. This place used to be spot on, but it's really much less than that now. It's just like seeing an old friend who has really gone to pot. So sad. Food was OK, french fries were nice and hot. So we walked in and said we wanted to get an order to go. My daughter has been here before and said they have really goos shakes. My family and I went a few nights ago to Mel's diner and we will definitely be back. We went during dinner rush so they said it would be a 30 minute wait but it was not even 30 minutes. When we got into the restaurant you are very packed in there so it's noisy but that's not an issue. We expected them to take a little bit to make our food since it was busy and we had 4 people but it took 7 MINUTES!!! THATS AMAZING! To top it off the food was amazing and flavorful and you get huge portions. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This place if a hoppin' place and I understand why after our visit. The wait was about 30 minutes, but we got in sooner by sitting at the bar. We really enjoyed watching the magic of the well oiled machine in action in such tight spaces. Felt like we were part of the crew in the middle of it all.
