The pizza was tasty but not really earth shattering. The BBQ sauce was tangy and sweet and the crust was good and had a good balance of thick and thin crusts...not too much of either side. Well let's start with the positive: the frozen Jack and Coke is yummy. Also the Merry Prankster pizza was delicious when it finally came. The place was busy but not crazy for a Saturday night. The host seemed fairly uninterested in their mission. The pretzel bites themselves were ok but the spicy cheese dip was horrid. Separated and oily. Our waiter was nice but clearly frustrated with the kitchen. He decided to comp our pizza after he told us the pizza was coming out and then it disappeared. It was clear to-go orders were either the priority or overwhelming the kitchen. After a long day of travel and an hour drive home we never expected dinner to take 2 hours when there were open tables and no wait to be seated. read more

The food is always great at Mellow Mushroom and that's why we seek one out when we're in the Raleigh area. The staff at this location needs some serious retraining. Our server wore AirPods the whole time, which is probably why she wasn't responding when we tried to get her attention several times. She didn't give us cutlery or plates until we asked for them and even then she continued clearing tables making us wait to eat with the food right in front of us. We watched another couple beside us get frustrated with the service as well and after staff refused to make it right they spent time in the open kitchen area mocking and making fun of the guests after they left and the whole dining area could hear. I had to get up and get my own refill because I asked our server for one and she acknowledged me but kept clearing a table then moved on to clearing another table. As we were leaving we watched a large group of about 10 get denied service for some reason. It sounded like they were making them wait but the dining room was nearly dead. Don't want to speculate but it's crazy for a restaurant to just let a 10 top walk out the door frustrated. I love Mellow Mushroom but I would definitely not recommend this location! read more

We had wings and a bbq chicken pizza and both were fabulous! I'm not sure what type of crust they use but it was spot on! Their Parmesan peppercorn sauce is delicious for the wings! The kitchen was slow for the fact that we were 1 of 4 people there and they all had food already. Luckily the food is good. read more

Wow!!! This place is awesome!!! From outside to inside, this place is super cool! We were seated promptly, our waiter greeted us immediately. We ordered spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was tasty! The pizza we ordered was meat lovers, the crust was so soft and pizza was very good!! We ordered several drinks from the bar and they were good also. Prices are good! Parking is plentiful! This is a great place to take the family and have nice meal! Highly recommend!!! This location was very cool and the ambiance was great . Not too busy or over crowded. Loved being able to see the kitchen and watch the pizzas being made. Mia was our server and she was such a delight to work with. The pizza is very tasty! Our table had the Holy Shitakke and the funky q chick. Both were delicious and had great flavor. I would say don't order a large pizza, it's a rip off compared to the medium pizza. It's $4 more and truly not that big. Both had 8 slices but it's was just slightlyyyy bigger in circumference. So stick with a medium. The regular margaritas are good but do not order a skinny, was not good but the regular margarita was pretty good. Cute place, service was decent if a little slow for not being very busy but I know staffing is always a concern. Food has changed from how it used to be so if you're revisiting from not being there for a few years be aware! Bruschetta no longer comes on a bed of green and the red sauce tastes different from how I remember it. They also no longer do the roasted potato side. We got the bruschetta and meatball hoagies with tater tots instead of the chips, and a couple fountain drinks which came to under $40 before tip. Food overall was good, just different from what I was expecting; the bruschetta could have had less dressing since there are no greens and the hoagies red sauce wasn't quite to my taste but I would order again knowing that. Some colleagues and I met at this restaurant for lunch yesterday. It had been years since we'd seen each other so we decided to schedule a luncheon. We had reservations and were seated right away when we arrived. Our server was professional and patient with us as we waited for a couple more colleagues to arrive before ordering. We took that time to chitchat and get caught up. Once we ordered, our food came out in a timely fashion. We ordered a variety of dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered a chicken hoagie without mayonnaise and as usual I really enjoyed their hoagie. The restaurant was not packed, and the atmosphere was perfect for our catch-up. Ugh - this Mellow Mushroom was such a disaster. I came here with three other friends the night before the City of Oaks Marathon. We wanted a nice carby meal and made a reservation. We were seated quickly and were told it was going to be an hour for pizza which we were fine with. We weren't in a rush and understood that it was busy. We ordered an appetizer in the meantime. We got the spinach artichoke dip which was very good however it only comes with 8 baguette slices. 8 baguette slices is not enough as the dip portion itself is quite big. We ordered more toast points at an extra charge. I get that we're in an inflationary period but charging for extra bread is annoying. We also ordered salads to eat during the wait for our pizza. 30 min pass with no sign of our server or our salads. When we finally flagged our waitress we discovered that they lost our order for salads. The salads ended up coming out AFTER our pizza was served. The pizza itself was pretty good but the experience with our server will keep me from going back to this location. This location only has 2 female restrooms and most of their staff is female. I had to wait 10 minutes for a stall (I was the only one in line) because as it turns out 2 staff members were using their stalls (probably on break which is fine) but on their phones. I was annoyed that I lost time at my dinner needing to use the restroom which was occupied by staff. Get the staff a breakroom so they don't need to hog the restrooms. read more

Yikes, where do I begin. We placed an order for an appetizer and 2 medium pizzas at 6:20 and received our food (including appetizer) at 8pm. An hour and 40 min to wait for pizza might be ok but for an appetizer is unacceptable. When I finally got my pizza, it was made entirely wrong. I ordered mushrooms and olives on the entire pizza, but they oddly only put it on half, and most of my pizza was cheese. My pizza was very doughy and dry, so I asked for a side of marinara which appeared 40 min later after I finished eating. My friend's pizza toppings were well distributed but she mentioned that other locations definitely taste better. The waitress was unfriendly and seemed to be ignoring us the entire time. 100% would not return, the price I paid for this meal did not reflect the quality of the food or service read more

Went on a Monday evening it was not busy. We were sat in the bar. We got our drinks quickly, but other than that that was the only thing about it . We waited over 30mins for 2 small pizzas. Not really sure what happened. The table next to us got their three large pizzas only a couple minutes after we had received ours and they sat 10-15 minutes after us. My husband didn't want to finish his because it was extra greasy. We have never had that problem before at any other location. Very disappointing. read more

The manager invited me back to try some pizzas since we weren't thrilled with our first visit. I'm happy to say we had a better experience and I appreciate him comping the pizzas. Our waitress, Jill, was super and made sure we had everything we needed. My spouse is not a cheese lover, but does love mushrooms so she got the Holy Shitake pie w/out cheese and the garlic aioli on the side to use it as a dipper. She really liked it a lot! I had the Funky Q Chicken pie that had just the right amount of cheese, chicken, bacon, onions, and BBQ sauce to make me happy. Terrible service. We waited an hour to just get an appetizer and there was no communication about it. After 30 minutes we asked our waitress, Kalie, about the wait and she said well the pretzels usually take as long as the pizza but I'll go check on it. 30 minutes later and she never said a word to us, she continually walked by our table but refused to look over at us. The pretzels have never taken this long before at other mellow mushroom locations. Our drinks were wrong as well. Mellow Mushroom is one of my favorite places to dine since moving to Raleigh from New York. New York is home to real Italian pizza, so I consider myself a pizza snob. This place is adorable from their dining room, bar to their packaging for to go orders. My fav menu item is the House pie. Location: Great location with plenty of parking in the parking lot. This location is not too far from the highway, and the traffic wasn't too busy (away from The direct Brier Creek traffic). Service: 4 out of 5, We Waited a few minutes after entering since there wasn't anyone at the front to seat us. A young lady came up and asked if anyone had spoken to us about seating. We said no, and she went and got someone to assist us. Our server was nice, pleasant, attentive, and fast. Man, the food is good, but they consistently take forever and a day to get the food out, and it's very often wrong. My friends and I give them a chance once every six months or so, but we're running out of steam. Between getting a pizza wrong three times in a row in a single night to taking an hour for food to arrive, I don't know that we'll be back anytime soon. We've had a place In BCCC for a couple years as a company house and frequent this establishment a whole bunch. Service is typically friendly and food does not take as long as most Mellow Mushroom locations. Tonight I ordered a large pizza carry out to eat with our team and it was missing a topping that comes on the speciality pizza we order and looked like they forgot the topping we added then put it on at the end with some extra cheese hoping we did not notice. The reason for the review is to draw attention to the fact that the kitchen, expo line and takeout employee did not double check and notice the topping was missing or show the pizza to me when I picked it up. Who knows, maybe they were 86 green peppers and that was why they were missing?!? I'll take full blame for not looking and having it re-fired on the fly but after waiting 40 minutes I was ready to eat anyway. Hope the attention to detail improves. Ordered from here yesterday. So disappointed. Ordered ONE pizza. With all the extras and you'd think they would get the pizza right and the extra since it's an extra $1.50 per side on a SMALL. Meanwhile they got that wrong and forgot ALL my ranch. Which was 6 of them. So not only did they leave off ALL the sauce on the pizza but also the extra sauce I paid for. Mellow Mushroom pizza is always delicious. Unfortunately, whenever I order from Uber eats from this Brier Creek location, my pizza arrives in a box with no bag or protective layer whatsoever. I'll open up my door and there will just be a cardboard box of pizza on the concrete. If the goal is to use less plastics, I'm all for it, however at least put a sticker on the box that serves as some kind of safety seal, please. First world problem for sure- but I just don't feel comfortable without any kind of seal on food from any delivery service. Other Mellow Mushrooms and every other restaurant I order from offer this. Please do this for your customers, or I'll simply have to discontinue ordering from you, which would definitely be disappointing. :( read more

Typically don't write reviews but this was the worst experience I had at a restaurant. Would highly suggest not coming here - or if you really want Mellow Mushroom then go to the Durham or Cary locations. We waited an hour and a half and still never got our food, so we ended up leaving. Manager and waiter kept providing different excuses. After over an hour and a half and the waiter confused once again about what we actually ordered, we decided to leave. Bad customer service with no apologies or sympathy from waiters or manager. Totally understand that restaurants can be so busy and understaffed, but it was half empty and some servers were standing around. Take out had a lot of people waiting for a long time too. read more
