Classic Mellow Mushroom; great service, great pizza, great beer and cocktails. We walked in at 8:40pm with a 9:00pm closing time. I checked to make sure that wouldn't be a problem. The manager politely made it clear that customers were welcome to walk in until closing time. He proceeded to make sure we were taken care of. We've been stopping at this exact Mellow Mushroom in Bristol for over four years on our way back home. The service has always been amazing and the food always delicious. One of our favorite things is we get to see our food being prepared with care. The ambience is always welcoming and warm. We will continue to return year after year! Thanks read more

The food was good, however the food that was delivered to our table was not the food we ordered. It took so long to get the food to the table that we ate what was brought. The food was not brought out together. All in all, this restaurant is in need of a good manager. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since my first visit three years ago. It's good pizza for sure. The place was busy on a Friday night as expected. We had the combination pizza. The veggies on this pizza stood out. This was wonderful! Really balanced with toppings. I love how the outer crusts are finished with a parmesan cheese. Crust was great. I'm so curious about the flour that is used for their crust. It isn't all white flour for sure, maybe a blend? It tastes different and it looked a little more yellow than white. Its not a bad thing at all. Just different than most crusts I've had before. Edit: according to the menu this pizza we had is GF. I added a photo about the dough. Everything tasted good. Try the Parmesan chicken wings while you wait for your pizza. They are delicious!! read more

Lots of chances to have a Mellow Mushroom pizza before but none have ever come to fruition. Today changed that. I ordered the large Mighty Meaty with the thin crispy crust. Waited 45 minutes and headed over. Waited another 15 for the curbside service. I was lapped twice by people pulling up and going in. I didn't know that was how it worked.... My pizza came out with no napkins or plates... no one asked either. Look when your pizza is above $30 you should offer.... That said when I opened the box is wasn't very hot. Note to self to go in and get it IF there's a next time. Oh and my crust was absolutely not crispy. A bit disappointing. I have to say when I took my first bite I was impressed. Very flavorful. A great combination of flavors. If it was just a little hotter it would've been almost perfect. So yeah, I think I'm going to hunt down another mellow mushroom in my next city and check out more of the menu. read more

So we're here with Wheeling, West Virginia University, Softball my daughter, and I have been traveling the country since travel this was our off day and we've eaten at several other mellow mushroom locations again they do not disappoint. The appetizers were wonderful. My daughter got a pizza with garlic, pepperoni and roasted peppers. I got a plain pepperoni pizza and oh my delicious appetizer we got was cheesy breadwith a dipping sauce fantastic read more

I had a realllly big and really good steak calzone. Will recommend . The server was nice and attentive.

Always great. Good people, good service and if you want something special ask them to make their Holy Shiitake pizza into a calzone! Don't forget to ask for extra garlic aïoli as a dipping sauce. read more

I'm a fan. Been in Gatlinburg, Savannah, Asheville, now Bristol. Great experience every time. Trippy cool decor, laid back servers, straightforward menu, no complaints here. We split a cobb salad and a medium Holy Shitake, as good as ever. The crust is amazing, quality toppings and plenty of them. I usually try to patronize the Mom n Pop places but hands down, this place gets my vote. read more

Staying at the city park right around the corner (no, not on the benches, they have an rv park there). Got,a hankering for pizza and figured we'd give it a try. Sure glad we did! Pizza was great. We had the special - piled on thick! Very good! Definitely recommend! read more

We waited over a hour on a medium pizza and a refill on a soda my salad was not very pleasant either. I was most disappointed when my pretzel bites came out and the waitress said they were out of beer cheese. I wish I would've been informed I would've ordered a different appetizer. read more

No wait to be seated but service was really slow. Our waiter also disappeared on us. Pizza was overpriced and did not have any flavor. The pretzel bites were good. The chicken wings were very tiny and had barley any meat on them. The wings came only with 3 pieces of carrots and 3 pieces of celery. Would not come back here again. read more

Out of this world pizza and service I could eat here a lot if I lived there i love the signs and food service here is the greatest

First off the food was great. Service was good, but it took an hour and 25 minutes to get to Italian hoagies an order of pretzels that was wrong and a pepperoni pizza no explanation from the manager or kitchen on what to hold up for issue was I blame the kitchen for this the waitstaff is trying read more

A pleasant surprise after biking. This bar and grille was recommended. It took rather long to get our burgers, but it turned out to be woek the wait. A juicy burger, with melted cheese and slices of pickles. Loved the roasted red potatoes as the side vs the norm. read more

This was the first chance I've had to eat at a Mellow Mushroom in years and it didn't disappoint. When we got in, it took a very long time for us to get service. We didn't get angry, but a server came over to apologize for the wait. The server came over a moment later and she apologized too. We didn't feel like we were owed an apology, but the staff doing so is something my Wife and I appreciated. We started with the pretzels and beer dip and and they were fantastic. The pretzels were a bit crispy and brown on the outside and the inside were soft and had a little bit of chewiness, which is just how I like them. The beer cheese was also pretty fantastic and I almost considered getting more cheese dip just for the pizza crust. I ordered the Veg Out and just like the pretzels, the pizza was great. My pizza was loaded with toppings and I've always thought that the toppings go beyond what you'd normally expect from a pizza place. If management reads this, I'd like to send my thanks to the staff. I was really stoked on being able to eat here and the folks and food were even better than I remembered. read more

I left California to start a new life in Bristol Virginia and I did not know why until now... Mellow mushroom I have to say is the best pizza place if you want delicious pie. Lindsey took great care of us and our Dog on the patio. I had the mushroom pizza I forget what it was called on the menu but it was good and my boo had a vegan hoagie with tempeh and vegan cheese which was also good. It wasn't on their menu he saw it on an online menu and they were able to make it for him. So this is a good place for vegans as well. read more

Found it in yelp in my travels. Short staffed here, like everyone else...but these gals HUSTLED. Sign on the door stated they might limit the number of guests due to shortages- smart to set the expectation and try not to overwhelm your staff. Could be a bit cleaner, but most of the mess was on the floor from patrons...the staff of 3 was truly trying to keep up with the evening. Food was what one expects from MM. good atmosphere. read more

We went at 6:45 on a Friday night and they were not busy when we arrived. We were seated quickly, although the guy who seated us gave us grief about needing a table with chairs so that we could sit the car seat down with our baby in it. Anyway, we then sat and waited for someone to come, but other tables around us who arrived after us were helped almost immediately. After waiting for 15-20 minutes we politely got up and left, no one said anything to us. This was our first visit to Mellow Mushroom and I have to say that we won't be back. The service was overwhelmingly disappointing and we were greatly unsatisfied by the lack of attention we received. read more

Both my dad and brother are vegan and we were having trouble finding a place to eat on the way to TN. When we found out about this place, we didn't hesitate. The atmosphere and decor is so cool! It's a hippie themed place decorated with shrooms and trippy paintings. I ordered a personal holy shiitake pizza. It was really small (probably under 8 inches) but very rich, so I couldn't finish it. I really enjoyed it. My dad and brother shared a large vegan cheese pizza with tempeh. My dad wasn't crazy about the vegan cheese but did like the tempeh. He said it had a sausage flavor to it. We were there on Monday so they were offering $1 slices which was nice. The slices were huge, FYI. We will definitely be back. Glad there is at least a few vegan options in this area. read more

Great pizza and atmosphere with everything to satisfy your craving for pizza just the way you like it!

Moving all day and this restaurant was near by. We knew they had good pizza so we stopped in. As soon as we arrived we went in they said they were closing early at 8 instead of 9. She was trying to say she couldn't let's us order a to go pizza even though it was 7:59 and she just hung up signs announcing closing due to short staff but staff was available and working. Almost refused to serve us until I asked for the manager. She had her take our order saying we were the last ones. Cook exclaimed " is that another ticket printing" in a very loud upset tone . It used to be businesses wanted business, isn't that the point? So entitled these days..won't be back. Cost $60 for two pizzas too, a rip off for that kinda treatment. read more

We stopped here to have lunch with friends while traveling from Pigeon Forge, TN to Wytheville, Va. we like stopping and having a meal at any Mellow Mushroom we can find in our travels. We have never been disappointed doing so. This time we ordered the same pizza we always do, Holy Shiitake pie, with a beer or two. Great combination, excellent pizza and service at this location. They can also open the garage doors for a fresh outdoor ambiance. Good food , great service, always a good meal read more

Disappointing experience. Service was mediocre and unattentive. The pizza was not what I am used to getting from a Mellow Srume. Ordered 2 medium pizzas. On one, the crust was very doughy and tuff, and the other the center was gooey. Not the usual Mellow quality. I also did not appreciate not being told that there were 20 call in orders ahead of us before we were seated. read more

Slowest experience I've ever had at any restaurant ... by far. Finally got a beer (not the one I ordered, but some pumpkin flavored crap), but after waiting over 25 minutes to place my order, I've been waiting over thirty for the damn pizza. From out of town and camping nearby. Had to stop at the Target to get a couple of things and asked the cashier for a recommendation. I've never heard of the place but it was close and we were starving after being in the road all day. We ordered carry out. The service was great, they even offered to call me when my pizza was ready so we didn't have to sit around and wait....and they did. At first I thought the pizza was a little pricey, but it was delicious and worth every penny. read more

Spent almost 40 minutes sitting in my car waiting for my online curbside pickup order. Called inside TWICE to let them know I was waiting outside and I STILL had to go inside to get my order. At least the pizza tasted good - as it always does - once I reheated it at home, as it was cold when I got it. Girl at the counter didn't give a shit. Seemed like a clueless airhead. Wasn't the first time we've had poor service at this location. But it will be the last. We'll be ordering from Johnny Brusco's or The Angry Italian from now on. read more

So my low rating is for the service because it was just bad that night. I did go on the night of an event so that might have been the problem but it was kind of ridiculous. I came here for a friends birthday but there were only 5 of us at the table. It was pretty packed but even though it was busy, we waited over an hour for our food. We got our appetizer with our meal. I have no complaints about the food, for the pretzel bites for free with my check-in through Yelp with my pizza purchase so that was a good deal. The pretzel bites were delicious, they had a really chewy texture but I wouldn't say it tasted like a pretzel exactly. Still delicious. I also had the Holy Shiitake pizza and it was yummy, very garlicky. I also had the chocolate chip cookie dessert with ice cream, which was another 45 minute wait, but worth it (mostly because I am a huge fan of dessert). Over everything, I recommend the cookie. read more

Food is good but didn't have the best service the few times I have been. Maybe they have some more help now.

Arrived around 7pm on a Friday night. The place wasn't busy at all. We placed our order for drinks and appetizer. We immediately got our drinks. Our server was attentive and friendly. It took almost an hour to receive our appetizer. It took another 20 minutes to receive our pizza. Food was hot, toppings were sparse. Not sure why it took so long to get a simple pizza. No apology given for the delay. read more

The food was incredible. I just finished driving 14 hours from Massachusetts, and this was my first time and it could not have been more what we wanted. We did a takeout order of the Merry Prankster pizza and the Cloud 9 wings. The wings were delicious, very buttery and garlicy but well balanced and crispy. The pizza was not greasy, and was thin crust delicious. If I am back in Bristol, I would go here again, and recommend it to anyone who goes into Bristol. read more

We arrived at Mellow mushroom around 430p. There was a sign on the door that said they were having a big party at 630p, so indoor seating would be limited. (I thought that was odd, but figured we had plenty of time). Server greater is fairly quickly and got our drinks. We ordered pizza and a calzone it took at least 45 minutes for our pizza and an hour for my calzone. They were not that busy , I'm not sure what they were going to do when the party got there. Our waitress , may have been busy, but she never checked on us until we needed the check and a box. I am so tired of going out and not having good service. However, we were very pleased with the pizza after it arrived read more

My son and I stopped on our trip. He had never had your pizza and I have eaten at your restaurant in Myrtle Beach. I told him we HAD to eat her. We were seated promptly and our server polite and very helpful. We ordered the house specialty pizza and salads. Both were delicious. The wait wasn't long at all and both our server and the manager checked to make sure we were happy and didn't need anything. The restaurant was busy but the guys in the kitchen were having a great time making pizza and singing to the radio. It was cute and we enjoyed that too. Great food pleasant atmosphere and wonderful service. My son was impressed by the pizza crust. Light crispy and baked to perfection. We weren't disappointed by our visit.
