We have stopped at an Aubrey's before and we're quite pleased.Therefore while traveling it was an easy pick for our lunch stop. We saw the sign off hwy 81and pulled in for another great experience. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and we were seated in a comfortable booth. We enjoyed our starter of their thick chips and dipping sauce. It was surprisingly very good. My husband ordered the Pasta Stack and I ordered the Asian Salad with added shredded chicken. All was truly scrumptious and our server, Bailey did an excellent job! Aubrey's is a smaller chain in the East TN area! The thick cut potato chips are a local favorite with the special sauce. The spinach con queso is a fun mix of creamy spinach artichoke dip. The chicken tender platter has crispiness that compliments well with the mac and cheese! They also have great honey mustard. A good choice for American or bar food! Aubrey's is an excellent restaurant and bar. Everything from good modern, well maintained, clean facility with very good menu selection and spot on waitstaff staff. Only complaint is their menu selection is good, but limited on a variety of steak items with ribeye as their only option except prime rib on Fridays. Bar pours excellent mixers and has sufficient wine selection. This is really a 4.5 star for those opinions which comfortably rounds to a 5 star rating. Highly recommend Aubrey's! read more

I'm OK with waiting for a table as long as it's fair and everyone who comes in after me gets seated after me. Tonight, after I waited 30 minutes for a seat, a couple came through the front door for the first time and asked to speak to the manager. Because I was standing next to the greeter when this happened, it became clear to me that the manager knew these people. I didn't think anything more of it and bided my time another five minutes until our buzzer vibrated and we went to the greeter stand. She asked us if a booth was OK. I said sure, but I'd rather sit in the bar area. She said unfortunately, someone else just took our table in the bar area! I asked her if they couldn't be kicked out, but she said the manager had OK'd it. When I looked at the table in the corner of the bar that she said should have been mine, there was the couple that just walked in the door! Now, I don't know if the manager OK'd that, or if that couple just felt like the rules were only meant for the little people like me. Either way, it isn't OK. So, my lesson here is twofold: A-If you are told you need to wait for a table at Aubrey's, don't. Just take one instead of stupidly following the rules like we did. OR, B-Don't go to Aubrey's. We stopped at Aubrey's while traveling through Tennessee. It did not disappoint. We opted to sit in the bar area which was off to the side of the main dining room. It was a cute space. They had a great selection of bourbons and beer. We happened to be there for happy hour which meant that some drinks are a dollar off! The drink were priced fairly and even better with the discount but we decided to get the mimosa special that was $14 for a bottle of Prosecco and two juices! We had chicken fingers for an appetizer. They were hot, fresh, and crispy. So good. They came with an assortment of dipping sauce. The buffalo sauce was delicious. It was smoky and mildly spicy. We both got the thunder road burger. I was delicious and cooked perfectly to order. The server was attentive and the food came out quickly. Overall, we had a great experience and will stop by on our next trip to Tennessee. read more

Bristol is the halfway point on our frequent trek from Alabama to Pennsylvania and it's a good place to stop for the night. This trip, we arrived at dinnertime and remembered a local restaurant that we enjoyed in the past. We described it to the hotel clerk and she came up with Aubrey's. When we arrived, we confirmed that this was the restaurant that we had visited. Unfortunately, this visit wasn't memorable like the last. We had about a ten minute wait to be seated - not bad for a Saturday night. While we waited, we had time to peruse the menu so when we were greeted by our server, we were ready to order. I ordered the 4 side plate. I got the baked potato soup, Parmesan spinach, squash casserole and a baked potato. My dinner came out quickly while we had to wait a little longer for my husband's meal. My meal, unfortunately, was not worth even the short wait. The potatoes in the baked potato soup were overwhelmed by rosemary (or thyme maybe?) either way, it was too much. The Parmesan spinach was more spinach dip than vegetable. In fact, I ate a little on the bread and it wasn't bad - I just couldn't eat too much it. (The loaf of bread was cut in half and the cut side was hard - it was a crostini want-to-be anyway). The squash casserole was awful. If my husband couldn't eat it, that says something. At least the baked potato was good and the side plate was only $10. The hubby had the strawberry salad with salmon. He said it was very good - it should have been for $23. One of the Saturday specials was 1/2 price bottles of wine. The bottle we chose was the same price as retail - quite a good deal. You are also able to take your partial bottle with you. Often my husband and I discuss my Yelp rating before posting. We had decided on a 4 star until we paid our check. We paid with a card. As we were getting up from the table, my husband pulled out his wallet and realized that he didn't have his card. We searched pockets, my purse and the floor. Finally, we tracked down our server. She reached in and pulled it out of her pocket apologizing profusely as she said it must have slipped out of the portfolio. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt but it definitely soured our visit. We'll be back through the area in August. Aubrey's will not be our dinner stop. read more

We were given a gift card for Aubrey's. My husband used to work in Cleveland, Tn. and I remember we tried one there but for some some reason never went back. I'd read the reviews for this location and thought we would be pleasantly surprised. My husband ordered his standard filet and I one of the nights specials, crab cakes. I have to admit I could have made a fine dinner of the delicious bread and butter they brought us plus my cocktail Mango Habanero and it was spicy like I like. Now it comes to the mains. Husbands filet was good he said even if slightly undercooked from his medium order. More medium rare. The bread wasn't refilled and the one large roll must have been the whole order. My crab cakes were so salty I couldn't eat them or even taste the crab meat. I asked the waiter if they were house made but no they came prepared like that, dry and salty. Well, if there had been more bread I wouldn't have left hungry. In fact, the last of my drink plus the last of the bread and butter were pretty decent. This review is pretty mixed at this point. All I can say is I wasn't impressed and must have been similar to our experience in Cleveland because this chain didn't make our regular rotation for some reason. Service was fine except I'd ordered a cup of potato soup to eat while my husband ate his salad and our waiter didn't seem to realize it until I asked for the soup??? read more

Absolutely disgusted with what went down tonight. Reservations for 10 at the big table in the bar for 6 pm to eat, drink and play singo. These are people who come in at least 2 times a month. They arrive to a table that has been given away to 2 people...which became 3 people and the rest arrived around 7pm. We are regulars who come here almost once a week and often hang out with the people this happened to...and we are very angry at how this situation was handled. I approached the manager, Jacob and told him that was pretty shitty how that happened...he asked if we were part of that party...to which I replied "no" but we have been in here 40 to 50 times and he has never even said one word to us, although he has talked to other "regulars" You lost a lot of regulars tonight, including us. No excuse for what happened tonight. The food is usually good and the bartenders have always been exceptional but management needs some serious customer service training. read more

We had a family dinner here yesterday we had no wait time as soon as we got there we got to our seats. The person that sat us nice and the waitress was there to get our drink orders. I got the sweet tea it was good flavor no complaints. I ordered the rattlesnake pasta it was really good just enough heat, and maybe a little more chicken. I prefer some extra meat with my food. My wife got the hickory chicken I tasted that it was really good mashed potatoes were good and creamy. I would like to have another order of bread but not here or there. I'm at a table right now fighting this review because why not. If I have to wait 15 minutes for a. Sweet tea ill visits another restaurant. If my order doesn't get placed for 40 minutes after ordering I'll go somewhere else. Don't tel me you're too busy if you were able to seat me outside! An hour after being seated and only one refill to our drink and one order of beer. What an embarrassment. If I'm paying upwards of $200 on my bill and am waiting this long, your establishment isn't worth it. The service here is just top notch, on top of everything else great about this place. The ambiance is very casual fancy if that makes sense. The tables are roomy & the place is honestly huge, we didn't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes on a BUSY night. The menu has plenty of options while still not being overwhelming. Their bread starter is so soft & fresh! The entrees really knocked it out of the park for me personally. The chicken fried chicken was fried to perfection, and even with a lush amount of gravy it stayed crispy & light tasting. The squash casserole was really good, just a little sweet for our liking. The chicken tenders were extremely crispy & light tasting, the breading was SEASONED so well & just the best flavor I think i've ever had. The chicken was fatty or gristly at all. Absolutely perfect. The sweet potato fries are hands down the best we've ever had (we live for them, and have tried them everywhere...this place has perfected them) My husband had the burger & although he said the flavor was good, we just prefer thinner more 'greasy' style burgers. The kid's mac & cheese was a great portion for the price & their regular fries are just as good as the sweet potato ones! We will 1000% be back here for sure! I've changed my mind...3rd time here, sat at the bar and had Becky as our bartender, Her royal highness...she rocks!!! Actually, all the bartenders have been great. We ordered some wings and a patty melt...best wings I've had in a long time...buffalo wings, fried with blue cheese...4 for $1.50 on Wednesdays...I had 8 but could have eaten another 4. Partner had a patty melt with a side of artichoke/spinach cheese for a side...he devoured every bite. This will be a regular hangout for us at least once a week. read more

Our server Rahni was quick to recommend favorite menu items and was friendly and helpful both before and during some kitchen-related problems. Parmesan spinach was decadent! Our food had some pretty significant issues, but manager Drew went well above and beyond to make things right. In a time when customer service is sadly declining in most businesses, Drew set a standard for friendly, attentive care to customers that would be a pride of any smart company. The dessert we enjoyed at his urging (peanut butter pie) was huge and delicious! While our first visit had the potential to be the last, the end result was that we were very impressed with the staff and the potential for a fantastic meal, and we will be back to give it another go. Very impressive inside with a nice bar set up in a separate room and it was clean and seemed to have enough staff the day after Thanksgiving. The menu has some creativity , the two appetizers we had were different and very good. The pimento cheese spread and smoked sausage app was top rate in flavor and quality. The Rockafella app was a very good flatbread with chicken, spinach, cheese , tomatoes and jalapeños. I would go back just to have the appetizers. Our group had a Rajun Cajun chicken sandwich, chicken salad club sandwich and Patty melt . All of the sandwiches were good. Fresh and great flavor . The fries were simple, hot and good. There I was on a business trip and stopped off for a rest and refresh. Aubrey's is a nice big place with a walled off bar area. This is a great idea because it allows the bar patrons like myself to enjoy a game while not bothering the restaurant customers. Full bar here, the beer selection was decent. Many of the same local and not so local beers I would expect in a Tennessee bar. Some nice choices and truly something for everyone. The service was excellent. I went for a burger and fries.
