Shrimp Tempura Roll
Cyndi K.

5 Star Rating because of the amazing and wonderful service I received during my first visit to Drake's!! My server made me feel so welcome. She was the absolute sweetest and so hospitable! I would be so happy to have her again during my next visit! Well, down to the food... I ordered a Chopped Salad which was made of chopped greens, chicken, toppings with a Honey Mustard dressing. And also an order of Shrimp Tempura roll. Wild combination, right? It hit my current cravings. :) My eyes were probably bigger than my stomach because I couldn't finish my salad, or it felt like the never ending bowl of salad. :) The foods were tasty and delicious. I would be happy to return and try more from the menu. A casual environment with good food fare, Drake's offers a craving for everyone.

Well Aubreys (my favorite spot) closed at 9pm, so I tried this spot. It was okay. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and salad. The salad was good. I ate the wrap but it was extremely salty. It must have been something in their sauce. If I return there, I'll try something different.

The food was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. The ambiance was perfect for a quick late lunch with friends.

I've been to several Drake's locations and each of them have been subperb. This one was no different. Customer service was fantastic from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. Drinks were always filled. Food wise, table of four with four drinks purchased it was $110 with a tip. Not bad since we got drinks. Buffalo Chicken sliders were very good and the chicken bowl was delicious. Overall, solid experience with your typical chain sit-down restaurant food. Recommended this place for sure.

Came for lunch the Wednesday after Memorial Day. Seat yourself. That was a first. This place used to be so busy that there was always a wait and they seated you. Found a high top bench in the back by the bar. There are several tvs to watch and also the side walls are removed for a nice breeze and view of the mountains. Jake was our waiter. He is kind and quick. This time I ordered their chicken fingers with tater tots. Both were served piping hot and delicious.

You can see how empty the bar was. And yet no one helped us for almost 20 minutes

Visited Drake's while visiting my family in Bristol, specifically on November 21st. We were extremely hungry and it's one of the only restaurants that's open late so we didn't have much choice. The layout of this restaurant was a bit weird to me. We entered through their front door, I think, which was a bar when we got in. I figured there was more seating in the back but no one was in the front, no one greeted us so we were just tippy-toeing trying to figure out what to do and how their system was. What annoyed me was there was a male staff wiping tables and cleaning the condiments and he couldn't acknowledge us which was irritating, to say the least. Eventually, we seated ourselves at the high tops and this is where our frustration started. It took possibly an actual server to provide us with a menu. It took maybe another 10 minutes for someone to come and acknowledge us and get our drinks. I wasn't sure what was going on here, because there were two females wiping utensils the other one was just chatting it up with the other one. Finally, a server came up to us and asked us if someone had already taken our order. Mind you we were probably in the restaurant for about 20 minutes now and we hadn't spoken to anyone, let alone be given any water or taken our drinks. We put in our drinks order along with our food order. Food (3.5/5): Mini Cheeseburger with Fries- This was okay, it was a bit dry Big Blue Burger with tater tots- The same goes for this burger, it was a bit dry Teriyaki Chicken Bowl Crispy Fish Tacos So our food arrived and the first mistake they made was switching the sides for the burgers. No biggie but again at this point it was already so irritating because their customer service had been downhill since we arrived. Also, I already got my food but had to ask for my beer order since it never arrived. It was honestly a disappointing experience. How they no front person to greet your guest and even though there's staff around, no one was acknowledging you. I'm not sure why they function like this but it is frustrating coming into a restaurant without getting acknowledged. The food was mediocre. There was honestly nothing special about it. Decent for a late-night meal.

Usually a great choice for lunch or dinner, on this occasion, Drakes fell short eight or nine of the beers advertised on there printed menu were "tapped out." On top of that, after I found something that I didn't want and ordered... It took an interminable amount of time to get my drink. I finally had to call someone over 10 or 15 minutes (later after seeing the bartender standing and chatting with someone at an adjacent table) because . (Lousy service.) Food was OK but not exceptional and didn't arrive at our table at same time.

My $16 Dollar, WHERES THE CHICKEN & FLAVOR salad

I hate leaving this review because my son loves the food & they have the best fried fish. And I love their sushi best. Vegetarian add fried asparagus. However, we went with friends to eat yesterday (Saturday) & it was pretty sad. I'm not a huge eater but most their items are small. Especially when they are one of the only restaurant that gives only ONE side. At higher prices!! I got "Cobb" salad with chicken & I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was the most flavorless salad I have ever had!! At $15.99 it was terrible!! $16.00 for no flavor what so ever & the smallest amount of chicken!! It tasted like flavorless, frozen chicken when I was lucky enough to find a piece of chicken!! I ask for extra blue cheese crumbs & barely had any in it.. I could have a steak, side and salad at Texas Road house for the lousy salad. My husband said his side salad was the same. We aren't big salt eaters but he added it to his with hopes to make it taste better. No such luck... $40 for a tasteless salad, fish and a side salad!! We both drank water!! The service was ok. We had a new girl that I felt shouldn't have been on her own yet. She knew absolutely nothing about the food or menu and every question she ask was "I don't know"... I mean we were kind to her it isn't her fault but wasn't mush help & the reason I ended up with a tasteless salad. The place was busy. Food came out in a decent time. Was noisy like always.. I really would like this place but most their portion like the teriyaki bowl is expensive and WAY too expensive for what you get!! Both me and my son are hungry when we fished it... others places have bigger bowls and you get what you pay for... if they added a second side and worked on their portions with some of the meals & worked on their salads it would be great but there's just way more places that actually give more for your buck these days!! We eat good steaks, side & side salad with FREE rolls at Texas Roadhouse EACH for what we paid for a tasteless "Cobb" salad, 1 portion of fried fresh & a tasteless side salad..

We were seated in 15 minutes and the table was too high for my mother in law but they got us a lower one. I got filet and tenders and my wife got the chicken breast sandwich. It is a lot more cramped than I though it would be.

Title: First (and last) visit to Cascade Draft House - rude bartender ruined it…read moreWe walked into Cascade Draft House on a sunny Friday early evening--first time, just my husband and me, excited to try local beer. Another customer handed us a menu, but it took forever for the bartender to come over. When he did, we said it was our first visit and asked for help. He suggested a couple options, poured two samples for my husband. He walked off to help another ( no biggie) I didn't care for his sample choices. I took a minute to decide, I picked mine and when the bartender brought my samples, I thanked him, he snapped, "You need to hurry up and pick one." We were floored. My husband asked if me he really said that. When he came back we ordered two of the same beer. My husband approached him calmly about his rude comment. The guy shot back, "You've had like six samples already," (4) then added, "The more samples, the more dishes I have to wash." Like we're the problem for ordering in a brewery. He laughed and joked with regulars outside--chatting, pouring beers--but treated us like we were wasting his time. We he brought our beers my husband approached him again and he said " I'm not trying to be a dick". My husband said "oh it must be busy", the bartender replied yes it's busy and I can't do orders and run the cards all at once. This is a no brainer job, as I've done it before, it doesn't get easier unless you're paid to sleep. Place wasn't even busy: eight at the bar, a party of five out back, three tables came in after we ordered. The atmosphere was relaxed, smiling and joking. Not us. We ordered a total of three beers (the dishes!) I watched this guy waste more beer by pouring it, not paying attention to what he was doing. The four samples we had didn't even create 1/4 of a cup. A woman came over to cash us out she was warm, friendly. While we were there she kept glancing over like she knew something was off, she might've heard his rude comments. The beer was very good out of Kingsport Tn, but we won't go back. The Pinnacle area has Kickback Jacks and Monroe's that also have great beer specials. Not to mention the other places downtown that serve drinks. That bartender's lucky we stayed--only because we didn't want to cut our day short, my son was with us and was enjoying some time walking around downtown area. Zero tip, I feel bad if they have to split tips at the end of the night. One bartenders rude, uncalled for, unacceptable behavior ruined it for others. I'm in Bristol once a week, have my favorite coffee shop, shopping area, a place to go for a cold one is now still in the works. If you're new, skip this place. The beer might be good, but the attitude's poison.

This grill, it appears, to be in a converted warehouse space. It is likely the whole block was a warehouse which was sectioned into separate commercial properties. It has 20' ceilings with tin ceiling tiles and nice industrial wood flooring. They have live music and karaoke nights. They have a nice selection of food. Seafood, burgers, quesadillas, wings, salads, wraps ... I tried their mushroom Swiss burger which was huge, juicy and delicious. I needed to cut it in half to figure a way to attack it and a lot of napkins. A fun fact: it is the State line grill because it is in Bristol TN but you cross the street and you are in Bristol VA! If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in to try it out.

Sidewalks are partly covered so weather is not an issue, but crowds would make the trip more difficult. There are also several street buskers which can draw crowds, so just be aware and not in a hurry. You enter on the corner into the main seating area which is sort of separated by a hostess stand and the back of a booth. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we wanted. Seating is a mix of booths and tables and we selected a booth next to the window. Our server came right away and took our drink orders. There is also a board next to the hostess stand with listed specials. Looking over the menu, these were just regular menu items at regular prices. Our server returned and took our food order. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, which was a little longer than expected. The bbq pork sandwich was dry and did not have a lot of flavor. The bun was fine but the dry meat made it harder to chew and took a lot of water to finish. In addition, the homemade chips were very crispy and salty. This plate left me parched even after drinking three glasses of water. The burger, however, was good. The meat was fairly juicy and toppings were fresh. The same homemade chips accompanied the burger and were also crispy and salty. The bathroom was in poor condition and appeared not to have been cleaned in some time. This was brought to our server's attention, who did not seem too concerned. Maybe this is a good place if you are seeking out music and alcohol, but there are many other options if all you want is lunch.

The bartender told us that a local podcast offered to make them coasters and he said yes, but only if they make them as queer as possible. They were playing some alt music on a record. Also, locals were super friendly and engaged us tourists in convo. Lastly, there's a limited selection of games- so we played a little trivia game and had fun with it. My first choice was the Limonada Hard Italian Soda. This was absolutely delicious! The tartness from the lemons was noticeable but not over powering and this was a very drinkable beverage. I don't like seltzers at all, yes this wasn't a seltzer but it did have a bit of carbonation that I did not mind. The other customers inside were friendly but not awkward, especially for us being the only 2 women in there at the moment the bartender was super friendly and they had a nice selection of local brews from the area. My wife ordered a peanut butter and jelly beer from the Knoxville TN area as her 2nd drink. PB & J beer doesn't sound so appealing but OMG it was phenomenal. It was the perfect balance and tasted like a PB&J liquid sandwich. Honestly I can wait until I find some in the store nearby. This is a nice, no frills, friendly stop yo grab a drink in Bristol.
