I had the fried calamari sushi roll (sashimi, since it's cooked?) and the teriyaki chicken bowl. The calamari tasted like old frier oil, Yuk. The teriyaki bowl was pretty good though with various flavors of the sauces and food components. Unfortunately, as i left I used the men's room and while it was clean neither of the automatic soap squirt dispensers could be coaxed into operating with any amount of prestidigitation. A particularly disturbing experience as I had followed a kitchen crew member into the men's room who had apparently gone to to take a dump. So I guess the best he will be able to do is to maybe rinse his hands prior to returning to the kitchen??? DOUBLE YUCK. I did let the bar manager know on the way out and she did leave to go look into the soap issue. It appears to be a light, fun, and trendy place reminiscent of the Fridays restaurants but with an updated and current atmosphere inside. Probably a good place to bring a group gathering. read more

We are, soon, moving from this area. I will miss Drakes. Prices are reasonable, food is above average, and portions are large. Our server was attentive, casual, and helpful. So I tried their Buffalo Chicken wrap and Tater Tots; it was excellent. Their tots are so good; they are fantastic! The Buffalo Chicken Wrap is really good: it has blue cheese, bacon, chicken and sauce. I cannot remember anything I've had from Drake's that wasn't delicious. 5 Star Rating because of the amazing and wonderful service I received during my first visit to Drake's!! My server made me feel so welcome. She was the absolute sweetest and so hospitable! I would be so happy to have her again during my next visit! Well, down to the food... I ordered a Chopped Salad which was made of chopped greens, chicken, toppings with a Honey Mustard dressing. And also an order of Shrimp Tempura roll. Wild combination, right? It hit my current cravings. :) My eyes were probably bigger than my stomach because I couldn't finish my salad, or it felt like the never ending bowl of salad. :) The foods were tasty and delicious. I've had good experiences till today and it was just Okay. I went in about 4. My better half is strictly meat and potatoes. I was craving a tuna stack or poke bowl. However I was attracted to the monthly special sushi, a double fish crunch roll. I would not order again. Give me back my tuna poke. The roll was fried and the taste was overwhelmed by the grease and breading. No amount of wasabi could make it better. My drink and service were very good. read more

I've been to several Drake's locations and each of them have been subperb. This one was no different. Customer service was fantastic from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. Drinks were always filled. Food wise, table of four with four drinks purchased it was $110 with a tip. Not bad since we got drinks. Buffalo Chicken sliders were very good and the chicken bowl was delicious. Overall, solid experience with your typical chain sit-down restaurant food. Recommended this place for sure. read more

This 5 * review is mostly based on the bartender, Jordan. No matter how busy she is, she is friendly and always does a great job while being genuinely concerned that we are happy with everything. They have 2 large bars so you are pretty much guaranteed a spot at one of them if you prefer that over sitting in one of the dining rooms. The burgers are good and the crinkle cut fries are great, when they are hot. My only complaint about the burgers, is that they are smash burgers, so they are always cooked well done instead of medium, which I prefer. Nonetheless, they are always tasty. I had the surf and turf sushi on my last visit and it was delicious! Also, $5 for a flight of 4 beers is very reasonable and they have a large selection. Jordan only works on Sundays, so that's when we go. She is honestly one of the best bartenders out of any restaurant I have ever been to. read more

A solid Bristol 4. Friendly people and ample parking. Here's the thing to note, although there are generous portions, and a friendly staff. The food isn't a bargain per se. The cost of everything is going up and I feel like there is a dance between quality, taste and price. I'm not sure that this menu can take more price increases. Came for lunch the Wednesday after Memorial Day. Seat yourself. That was a first. This place used to be so busy that there was always a wait and they seated you. Found a high top bench in the back by the bar. There are several tvs to watch and also the side walls are removed for a nice breeze and view of the mountains. Jake was our waiter. Visited Drake's while visiting my family in Bristol, specifically on November 21st. We were extremely hungry and it's one of the only restaurants that's open late so we didn't have much choice. The layout of this restaurant was a bit weird to me. We entered through their front door, I think, which was a bar when we got in. I figured there was more seating in the back but no one was in the front, no one greeted us so we were just tippy-toeing trying to figure out what to do and how their system was. What annoyed me was there was a male staff wiping tables and cleaning the condiments and he couldn't acknowledge us which was irritating, to say the least. Eventually, we seated ourselves at the high tops and this is where our frustration started. It took possibly an actual server to provide us with a menu. It took maybe another 10 minutes for someone to come and acknowledge us and get our drinks. I wasn't sure what was going on here, because there were two females wiping utensils the other one was just chatting it up with the other one. Finally, a server came up to us and asked us if someone had already taken our order. Mind you we were probably in the restaurant for about 20 minutes now and we hadn't spoken to anyone, let alone be given any water or taken our drinks. We put in our drinks order along with our food order. Food (3.5/5): Mini Cheeseburger with Fries- This was okay, it was a bit dry Big Blue Burger with tater tots- The same goes for this burger, it was a bit dry Teriyaki Chicken Bowl Crispy Fish Tacos So our food arrived and the first mistake they made was switching the sides for the burgers. No biggie but again at this point it was already so irritating because their customer service had been downhill since we arrived. Also, I already got my food but had to ask for my beer order since it never arrived. It was honestly a disappointing experience. How they no front person to greet your guest and even though there's staff around, no one was acknowledging you. I'm not sure why they function like this but it is frustrating coming into a restaurant without getting acknowledged. The food was mediocre. There was honestly nothing special about it. Usually a great choice for lunch or dinner, on this occasion, Drakes fell short eight or nine of the beers advertised on there printed menu were "tapped out." On top of that, after I found something that I didn't want and ordered... It took an interminable amount of time to get my drink. I finally had to call someone over 10 or 15 minutes (later after seeing the bartender standing and chatting with someone at an adjacent table) because . (Lousy service.) I hate leaving this review because my son loves the food & they have the best fried fish. And I love their sushi best. Vegetarian add fried asparagus. However, we went with friends to eat yesterday (Saturday) & it was pretty sad. I'm not a huge eater but most their items are small. Especially when they are one of the only restaurant that gives only ONE side. At higher prices!! I got "Cobb" salad with chicken & I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was the most flavorless salad I have ever had!! At $15.99 it was terrible!! $16.00 for no flavor what so ever & the smallest amount of chicken!! It tasted like flavorless, frozen chicken when I was lucky enough to find a piece of chicken!! I ask for extra blue cheese crumbs & barely had any in it.. I could have a steak, side and salad at Texas Road house for the lousy salad. My husband said his side salad was the same. We aren't big salt eaters but he added it to his with hopes to make it taste better. No such luck... $40 for a tasteless salad, fish and a side salad!! We both drank water!! The service was ok. We had a new girl that I felt shouldn't have been on her own yet. She knew absolutely nothing about the food or menu and every question she ask was "I don't know"... I mean we were kind to her it isn't her fault but wasn't mush help & the reason I ended up with a tasteless salad. The place was busy. Food came out in a decent time. Was noisy like always.. My husband and I had the opportunity to have an early dinner at Drake's on March 8, 2024. The managing partner, Rachel Garmley, greeted us at the door. Her cheerful greeting and the warmth of the staff was infectious. Our server, Jimalyn, was extremely knowledgable and efficient. We dined on an appetizer, Crab Rangoon sushi--something we had never tried before. It was phenomenally tasty! My husband had the chili and a mushroom burger with crispy tots. To say he needed a "to-go" container because of the size of the burger is an understatement! He couldn't stop praising the chili or the burger! If you are hungry, Drake's burgers should be on your list of food choices! I had the Chicken Asada Tacos, another hearty dish. I love that you get the fixings to put your tacos together and they don't come "ready made." All in all, the ambiance of the restaurant, the food, and the staff all deserve a 5+ star rating for the outstanding meal and exceptional service! After shopping at Belk we went to Blake's. Waited about 15 minutes to be seated because they were very busy and was served by Kris. She was very pleasant and was able to help us out with suggestions. The restaurant has a bar area and a seating area outside if desired. Our food was delivered in a reasonable time. I ordered the crunchy munchy roll and my wife ordered the fish tacos. Gave Drake's a few other chances and they managed to screw up again on March 17, 2025. Seat yourself sign was up, however hostess stopped us and said there were no seats except at the bar. We asked if she could check and she came back and said a couple tables were being cleared. In the meantime a couple paraded by and went to a table being cleared. Hostess said oh sorry, looks like that couple claimed that one. She didn't offer to step in and correct the situation since she was preparing to seat us and of course it's typically not wise for customers to approach other customers. Drak'e's is now officially on my boycott list indefinitely. I would not recommend visiting the Bristol location....many other options with much better customer service. read more

Food was ok nothing really stick out. I feel this is a nice little sports bar to watch the games and have a nice cold drink. I feel the scene is not really a family scene but it is still nice. The noise was moderate but with it being a sports bar I expected It to be a little noisy. The outside patio was one of the better features the have it covered up with 3 fires going to make it warm, which worked because I forgot it was outside. After spending some time shopping at the Pinnacle, we wanted a quick bite to eat. We gave Drake's a shot since it wasn't something we could get around the house. There was a small wait, but it was communicated well. Due to wanting something light, 2 in our party got sushi. Both rolls were tasty. Another got a BLT salad which she enjoyed. I got a quesadilla (totally) out of the box, and it was exactly what I expected. Something you could get anywhere. Drinks were nice, but the pours were light. Not near the top of the glass. The ice was piled high making it look like they tried to cover up the light pour. Very disappointing for a $10 drink. $5 mimosas and bloody Marys were probably the best way to go. Overall it served its purpose, but will probably make another choice during our next trip. read more

OK... so I came In here with pretty low expectations. It was about 10:45 on a Wednesday night, and thr place was empty except the 4 girls just leaving. I really expected more people and was a little concerned that they were closing or just a very bad place. I asked if they were still serving, and if it was all right for my dog to be with me, and they said fine and yes they were serving for about 10 more minutes. The waitress, Julie came out gave me the menu I placed my order, and she sat down went through the menu with me, and when it was time for me to use the restroom, she stayed and watched my dog. Definite bonus points for that I placed my order, and then she asked me what my puppy would like and made recommendation for some grilled chicken tenders tenders and I put some broccoli on the side and it was awesome. Unlike many other restaurants they were very accommodating, and actually very engaging, accommodating, and went out of their way. The "crab rangoon" roll was tasty.... I imagine it's much better when drinking. Anyway, kudos to them for being awesome. The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We waited an hour for our food while watching all the other tables food come out. It was not busy. Our waitress lied to us on 3 different occasions about our food. The final time stating, "your ticket is on the line." When a manager finally came to talk with us, she claimed the ticket had been lost. We were lied to our entire time seated and never received food. The somewhat highly priced food is not worth risking it with this service. read more
