Hey friends! I went out with some new coworkers to this cool spot downtown. This spot is the rose that grew from concrete. Bristol is a rural town but certain areas are becoming more chic, such as this rooftop bar. I ordered a brown sugar old fashioned to start with. It was AMAZING. I would definitely recreate it at home, the flavors balance perfectly. For my entree, I had the chicken sandwich. The batter was perfectly crispy and seasoned well. I like that they use chicken thighs, which are juicy and makes for a delicious sandwich. Fries were okay, I wish they weren't steak fries. +Our server was friendly! Bristol, Va. Thisis a wonderful, for many reasons, place to dine after all the music is over. They seat you right away without a reservation and the view is awesome. Our drinks were extraordinary. The straws were huge, why? Because there was boba at the bottom of the glass for flavor bursts. It took exactly one hour and fifteen minutes to get our food after we had sat down. I'm sure there were good reasons for this but I don't care. I'm paying premium prices for this food and some effort should be made by management to ensure that the service is without hiccups. The salmon tacos were very good but the salmon was fried. The Shrimp & Grits bites were ok, they tasted nothing at all like shrimp or grits. They may as well have been potato balls. The spicy sauce was excellent. The Summer Melon Salad with burrata sounded pretty odd with the shaved ham, but it turned out to be delicious. The Fried Green Tomato's were excellent. The waitresses were friendly but seemed to be exhausted. Hopefully the overtime was voluntary and worth it. read more

Hands down, people, this is the best bar in Bristol. Why? Happy Hour! M-F from 2-5pm, all the Shareables are 50% off and drinks are really discounted! It's a really great way to try the food! Food (5/5): Elevated bar food! The kitchen from the downstairs restaurant, Vivian's Table, makes the food and it is really delicious. We tried the popcorn shrimp, which are breaded and crispy. Really great. We of course, had to try the Mountain of fries - these are matchstick fries and the best part was the three different sauces that come with it. The chipotle ketchup was my favorite. We also tried the wings, which were good..I am not a huge wing fan, though. The jalapeno poppers (wrapped in bacon with a cheese filing) were great, as were the steak nachos. And of course, the hummus with the fry bread was great, too. My hubby liked the hazy IPA that was on draft. Even better at $3.50 a pint during Happy Hour. I really liked the cocktails - some of my favorite was a new espresso based tequila (for the summer menu) and the creamsicle. Service (5/5): Everyone up here is super nice - the manager Landry, bartender Raine and all the servers were really fantastic. Ambiance (5/5): Location - This is the top of the Bristol Hotel, and one of the only rooftop bars in Bristol. A terrific place to not just take in the amazing views of Bristol, but also to get a terrific cocktail and some delicious food. This place is located on the roof level of the Bristol Hotel. You enter through the hotel entrance and see the lovely lobbies. Grab the elevator to the right from the entrance. Upon entering, you will be greeted by very friendly hostesses. There's an indoor bar, indoor dining space, outdoor dining, and outdoor lounge area with couches. We sat outside and it was lovely! Could see where umbrellas would be needed at the tables, but we went in the evening so it was perfect. If not, would have sat inside. Ordered drinks. They were both great. Recommend a spicy pineapple margarita. For food, we ordered the chicken wings (delicious), pickles, and the deviled eggs. The pickles are not fried but homemade and so incredibly tasty. Get them. Our server Brayden was absolutely attentive and friendly. He did a fabulous job of keeping us refilled and making sure that we had all that we needed/wanted. We snagged a parking space directly out front that had 2 hour limits, but only from 9-5. Seems as if there's ample parking around. This is a terrific spot for a lovely evening. The calendar by the elevator did advertise trivia and live music. This is right down from the country music museum. It's a great place to perch for a cocktail, apps or even dinner. read more

Such a cool rooftop view! For a dual state experience, this is the place! Love the bright Bristol sign and a lovely ambience! We came on karaoke night and the singers were dang good! Country singers rock! We had wine and beer and some appetizers! Our server, Rain, was sweet and efficient! So glad we stayed at this hotel and got to hangout at this beautiful spot!! read more

Last time through Bristol we had breakfast at the Bristol Hotel. Noticed they had a roof top bar, so we tried it this time and would definitely go back Was extremely windy but there is an inside bar with great views. Had a nice band we could hear but was too windy to sit outside. My only problem with this bar was the cocktail menu was almost all drinks were extremely sweet sounding. Had an old fashion which was very good but would have liked something a little spicy and they had nothing (we asked). read more

Awful. The food was awful, the staff was not attentive, we had the nachos which were so sweet we had 3 bites and then got a salad that took an hour to come out and was so drenched in dressing it wasn't eatable. read more

My best friend has her birthday celebration here each year, and it is such a fun spot! The drinks are delicious and the service is excellent. The rooftop showcases a really pretty view of downtown Bristol. There's plenty of outdoor seating and some of the tables have a table top fire pit that makes sitting outside in November much more bearable. The inside seating area is smaller but super cozy. read more

Will not be back. Incredibly rude manager refused service simply because our friends had their 9month old asleep in a stroller and made sure to say "sorry, it's cute though". I understand if you all aren't responsible enough to card teenagers and needed to make it 21+ but to refuse service to a group because they happened to have their infant son with them at 2:00pm is insane. read more

According to the very polite young man at the front desk of The Bristol Hotel, you normally call people who have table reservations when you close. You didn't call us. My wife and I walked eight blocks to make our 7:00pm reservation - for our wedding anniversary dinner - only to find out you'd closed last night when the elevator wouldn't take us to the rooftop. read more

It's a nice place to hang out except the lights were dimmed down so low nobody could read the menus and the waitress said she wasn't allowed to adjust it. Then when the drinks came they were strange and off. How can you ruin a basic whiskey sour? Make it a wine sour! And say it ain't so. My other friend had a Long Island Iced Tea. Instead of tasting somewhat like cola like most do, this bartender mixed up a lemonade-y one. Yuk. All of us did love the outside roof area with views. We had a round then went elsewhere. read more

Ordered the Charcuterie plate to share and then burgers which were good. Sunset view and swanky atmosphere are mainly the reasons I gave 5stars as it is fairly unique for the region. read more

A great start to a new bar in Bristol. Went there last Wednesday with a group of friends and they were super busy. We ordered several appetizers: smoked trout dip, sushi tuna tempura, lamb meatballs, sweet potato fries, and baked brie. Most apps were really excellent (only the lamb meatballs were average) and brought to us quickly. The bar is gorgeous inside and out and there are fireplaces outside where you can lounge around. I do wish they would forbid cigar smoking outside also! Bartenders were very friendly even though they were up to their necks as the crowd was heavier than expected that night. This is the only reason for the four stars. They could have used more bartenders that night. Oh and it is 21 and over only! I hope to return when weather is warm and enjoy the beautiful terrace. read more

The view is stunning! The drinks were very good. They had indoor and outdoor seating and heaters running outside.

Dining experience was very disappointing. Menu has been severely reduced. Does not match online menu, one we had enjoyed only a few weeks ago. Offerings were poor. We were told menu was cut back because it's too difficult to carry food to rooftop. That makes no sense. Staff was slammed and churlish. Management, please rethink this. You are denigrating a lovely setting. read more

My daughter took us here for dinner it was amazing the scallops we the best!!! Loved everything. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next night for dessert because we didn't have room for it the night before. Those were also delicious. read more

Stopped there to see what the view was like from the rooftop and stayed for drinks and dinner. Although the dinner is from the onsite restaurant Vivian's Table, the view was the extra spice. The COVID restrictions have reduced the number of tables inside and inclement weather prevented being outside, it is easy to see why this location would be popular under better weather conditions. The service was attentive and friendly. The focus of the food menu changes daily. The day we were there the focus was on burgers which we both ordered. They were excellent, fresh bun, fresh ingredients, cooked just as we liked it. However, if you only have time for one culinary item, we strongly recommend the calamari. It was outstanding. Batter was light, calamari was tender, the siracha aioli was incredible. They even included red pepper and lemon slices fried in the batter (don't knock it until you try it, it was great) We even asked for the aioli as our sauce with the burgers. I have been coming to the rooftop bar to get food and drinks since it has been open. This facility not only serves alcohol but food as well. I was asked to leave due to having my 1 month old baby in her carrier This is absolutely ridiculous. I understand not bringing older children in this area, but asking paying customers to leave with a baby is insane. read more

I ordered food just before their kitchen closed, & the service was EXCELLENT. They accommodated my last minute order, were very nice & efficient. I wanted to order a drink as well but wasn't allowed to over room service (they needed my ID) so I ran up to the rooftop bar, ordered a drink while waiting for my food. Tho the service was excellent (& the rooftop surroundings were very nice!), the food I eventually received was...not great. I ordered a medium burger with Gouda & some fries. They had forgotten to give it to me as a Togo, so they put a lid on the plate and required a server bring it down to my room. I'm VERY happy to tip well (I tipped 9 bucks for a $32 tab), I could've / would've preferred to being the food down myself as I wasn't expecting room service and of course I needed to tip the very nice server who brought the food to my room. I tipped him $5 which again I was happy to - but would've saved that $ by bringing the food down myself as initially ordered. Once I sat down to my food, the burger was cold & the bun was TERRIBLE. It was exactly like a cheap, store-bought bun, not even toasted to make it seem better. The burger was over cooked, the Gouda tasted like American cheese, and again - the bun was both dry and mushy, not to mention COLD. The fries; however, were great, as were the drinks. I'm happy to visit again & try food at a better time in the evening. I know I sound stingy but I don't think it's asking too much for a $13 burger to be cooked properly with decent quality cheese & bun. Beautiful place; though, great for groups who wanna get a cocktail or nice beer. Great view of the city, and capable bar/wait staff. I'll have to eat here again to see if the bad burger was just a fluke or if the food overall is meh. read more
