We've had "Meat Lover" on our list for a while, and with all the rainy weather lately, hot pot was exactly what we were craving--and this place delivered. We stopped in later in the evening, and the restaurant had a calm, cozy atmosphere with just a few other guests, which made it a perfect spot to unwind. Since it was our first visit, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, offering quick service and guiding us through the menu. I wanted to try both the skewers and the hot pot, and they had no shortage of options. I ended up going with the lamb skewer and the pork belly, along with scallops and glass noodles. Everything was delicious--simply prepared, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. For the hot pot, we chose the crawfish base. Even though we ordered a small, it arrived in a generous bowl because we added extra vegetables. The broth was spicy in the best way--bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The vegetables came out al dente and soaked up all that rich flavor, and the crawfish was fresh, plentiful, and surprisingly satisfying. We were honestly impressed with the portion sizes, the attentive service, and the cute décor that adds a warm, inviting charm to the space. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more items from the menu. Keep up the great work!

What an amazing restaurant! I'm visiting the area and found myself at this place. Soon as we walked in I knew we picked the right place. The hostess was great! She seated us right away and gave us great advice on menu items. The restaurant was clean and had the Asian atmosphere. You pick the menu items you want and mark it the menu. We ordered four different types of squires, pork belly, lamb, beef and squid along with shrimp fried rice. We also got a milk beer (nonalcoholic) and a Chinese pear soda. All the food was freaking delicious!!! We will definitely come back here and get the hot pot before we leave. Highly recommended this place!

Surprisingly all of the ordered items were all good. Been living in Riverside 10 plus years and I drove by this place many times but never really had the desire to try out their food. Been craving shabu shabu for several weeks and I am so bummed out Mokkoji is temporarily closed due to relocating so I decided to check out this place. Not the typical shabu shabu I am used to but I tried out their hot pot. Definitely more flavorful broth in terms of spiciness as opposed to the mild, clear broth. Next time I would opt for the dry hot pot with no soup. Skewers were seasoned extensively that it overpowers the taste of the meat flavor. But cooked right. Wish there is a bit of balance. Friendly server. Bright ans spacious with plenty of seating.

I was in the mood for something new, and my husband was nervous. But we both ended up loving everything. The meat screwers were all delicious with a yummy seasoning. Our fave in order was the pork belly, lamb, chicken, then beef. My husband was a huge fan of the chicken tenders with Chinese salt. Crispy but so tender. Wish they added more Chinese salt. But the hubby enjoyed it with the house mayo. I was drooling over all the fish hotpots that was on every table when we were there. I'll be sure to try that next time. Parking garage is behind the building, so you have to walk around the building. Clean, & great service.

I've ordered takeout from Meat Lover a few times and eaten inside as well. It's a little small inside but clean and tidy, and the service is quick and friendly. Food is always good here and is reminiscent of Gui in Rowland Heights, serving primarily BBQ skewers with the addition of simple hot pots. I'm a huge fan of the chicken skewers in particular--the soft bone is great and cooked just right. I tried the hot pot for the first time on this last visit, and it was great! I got the small size, which was actually pretty big. Both the soup and the ingredients were good (especially the potato slices, which actually were fried before being put in the soup). I couldn't finish, and the staff very kindly helped pack it up. Overall, great for a quick and casual meal!

every time my fam and i come visit my brother in town, this is a must stop. their hot pot is so flavorful, i love that you pick a main base and then order any add-on's you'd like. their bbq skewers are also very flavorful, one of the best i've had. my favorite is their lamb skewers! if you can handle your garlic, i highly recommend the bbq eggplant too. overall, def give this place a try!

This place was a pleasant find. Was craving skewers and surprised to find one in Riverside near UCR. Had a variety of skewers and they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We love Meat Lovers. We've visited several times and every time the food was consistent and good. On our first visit, the menu seemed a bit confusing but our server was very helpful in explaining it to us. Beef skewers, chicken heart and roasted leeks are some of our favorite. We first tried their food At 626 night market and We had to come here! Among all the bbq places I have tried so far, This place is surprisingly the most authentic one. Went with a group of friends and tried the chicken, lamb, pork belly and eel ball skewers and all of them were a 10/10. Perfectly cooked and seasoned we were pleasantly surprised. Also got a side of pork dumplings, black fungus, leek, mushrooms and pan fried instant noodles and it was all soooo good. The spice level on everything is perfect. Staff is very friendly and make you feel at home. A very relaxed ambiance. I definitely recommend trying this spot out. They also have a good selection on drinks (soft drinks, milky drinks, tea). I recently came across this stand during the Monterey Park Lunar new year festival. I ordered the lamb skewers which was 7 for $15. I thought it would be good value at first but then came to realize that the lamb portions were tiny. The texture was gamey but the food was definitely really tasty. I definitely recommend this place for some authentic food. There was a good amount of fat on the lamb that made it taste good as well. read more

Discovered this place during the lunar new years festival downtown and it was quite good, except when I went to the storefront to get the same thing (lamb skewers) the ones they gave me from the store were definitely 50% fat compared to at the festival when it was only 25% fat! The flavor was very good but man the lamb was so fatty I'll probably try something else next time... read more

I was happy to try out a new place. I was really into the beef skewers. We tried beef and pork belly. We also ordered the chicken vegetable dumplings that I wasn't very happy with they over fried them and the sauce was very garlic. I also would recommend that they would have more dipping sauces for their meats like some type of vinegar. Chili sauce would go good with that we also ordered the Hawaiian fried rice, a little oily for fried rice, and it seemed like cold, cut, ham and canned pineapple. I would not order that again, but I will definitely go there for the skewers. The place was nice and clean. I like the selection of drinks, and the waitress was super nice, I'm definitely going to go again read more

My daughter and I had a yellow croaker in hot and spicy base, added mushrooms, different types of tofu, and lotus root. It was excellent. I have been to China as many times as Tim Walz. The food at Meat Lover is quite authentic and quite good 麻辣 food (it happens to be my favorite), which isn't common in the US, not even in areas of the US with a lot of Chinese. read more

I am a regular customer here and I love ordering the pork belly and beef skewers. They're very yummy and I would say the pricing is good. The staff are always so sweet and I think the owner is the lady who wears glasses is especially adorable. The only thing I would have to say is that they never click the "order is ready for pick up" if you order through Yelp / Grubhub, so I always assume after ~20 minutes I would go pick up my order. Not that it is a big deal but I think it would be nice to not have to guess if the order is ready for pick up or not. My advice would be to call the restaurant if you do not get alerted if your order is ready. read more

Ordered from here for company potluck, I thought the restaurant is just fast food for nearby students. But the food is really surprised me. Fish is fresh, tastes not like frozen. plus multiple sides in there, one order feeds 4-5 people Fried chicken tenders are crispy and juicy, not losing any American restaurant. The chef recommended the Korean short ribs. Meat fresh, not dry, tastes better than some BBQ restaurant. read more

That excitement ended the moment I looked down at my bowl and found a **MAGGOT sitting on top of my rice.** I called the restaurant immediately and calmly explained what happened. They told me to contact DoorDash since that's how I ordered. Fine. I reported it through DoorDash's platform and waited. Then I got a call back from DoorDash -- not to help me, but to relay a message: **Big Sky had contacted them specifically to refuse my refund.** Let that sink in. A customer found a maggot in their food, couldn't eat a single bite of a $54.19 order, and the restaurant's response was to **actively call DoorDash to make sure I didn't get my money back.** I understand that occasionally bugs happen in food service. It's gross, but I was fully prepared to move on had they simply taken responsibility. Instead, they chose to fight a $54 refund over a maggot. That tells you everything you need to know about how this restaurant values its customers. **Eat here at your own risk -- and if something's wrong, you're on your own.**

Staff super sweet and the tea is fire however the food is mid the fried chicken rice bowl is basically overpriced karage and the beef and onion bowl has almost zero flavor the dumplings were bad and had absolutely no flavor and somehow the chilli oil took away flavor instead of adding it overall prolly won't come back except for the tea, the skewers are gas though. read more
