We went last night (1/26/19) for dinner. First time I'd been here in 15 years. I had the King cut Prime Rib, and the wife had a half slab of ribs. The Prime Rib was fantastic, and the ribs were tender and tasty! The place was crowded, but our server was friendly and quick to respond to any request we had. Great good, service was good too. Bartender was sweet and accommodating, but the owner (?), a Lady with short gray hair, was completely rude to the bartender and complained a out how we were charged for our drinks. We were sitting right at the bar and could hear the whole conversation as she was talking about us. I feel bad for the pleasant bartender for being corrected so rudely in front of her customers that she was taking great care of. It made our stay much less enjoyable. read more

I actually love this place. Unfortunately this last Saturday we tried to go for dinner at 6:15pm. We had a larger group of about 8, so I tried to call ahead on Friday and get reservations, to be told they don't take reservations. I then tried to call the day of, and was told it's basically first come first serve. When I arrived, I waited for 10-15 minutes to be checked in, all while multiple waitresses walked past me at least 15 times. When a waitress/hostess finally asked how she could help, she said she would need to contact the owner to see if they could seat us. She came back a few minutes later and said she could NOT seat us but was kind enough to offer other local options. She said the back room was closed and they just didn't have enough help/workers. I understand it's difficult to find staff, but how can a restaurant business survive if your turning customers away on a Saturday night for dinner? Due to the inconvenience, I am giving a 1 star review. read more

The food here is consistently good. The spinach salad is the best in the county. Our Alumnae group eats here two or three months out of each year because the food and service is excellent. read more

We have been going to the Meadows for many, many years. As always, the food is delicious. My only constructive criticism is how long they leave you standing at the door with zero acknowledgement. It doesn't take much to at least say someone will be right with you. Multiple people waking by you for almost 5 minutes without a word. When the extremely rude, older lady with short haircut, sat us she didn't even speak. I noticed she continued to be rude to every customer that entered the restaurant. Pretty good restaurant. I like their wraps. Their onion rings are also very good. I tried their Swiss steak and it was not very good, but could just be my preference. I like their salads and their salad dressings. I will continue going here and just keep trying new things! read more

With the new management this place has become a lot better than what it once was. The prices are a little high for the type of food and I wouldn't come here starving, but the food is well worth it. Some of the best ribs and hot wings I've ever eaten. Pretty sure they aren't a motel anymore but I could be wrong. read more

Well, Saturday night we were a party of 8 with reservations for 6:30. Arrived at 6:15 to be told our reservations were given to someone else. We were seated at 6:55 which wasn't to bad. Our orders were take by 7:00 but our food wasn't served until 8:00. Wait staff tried to do their best but the kitchen couldn't keep up even though we all had the daily special. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and were very pleased. He ordered a reuben and chips, I had a cheeseburger with chips. Oh, we got a basket of fries to share. Ugh.... read others reviews here and on another app. Sounded good, but we were so disappointed. Our server was very inattentive. Slow, no drink refills; in fact my husband had to get a second beer by asking the bartender. My husband got the fish and chips, I got the shrimp. After waiting about 45 minutes it finally arrived. For the past few years, I have always looked forward to the Wednesday nights that I am able to get beef and noodles at the Meadows restaurant. They are the best, and probably the only ones in Springfield. I have had my share of carry out orders along with many dine ins and never had a problem, until today. I stop in after work to pick up 2 orders of beef and noodles. I stand and wait for about 15 minutes and the server gives me my bag of food and I give her my payment. I drive home, starving, excited for dinner. I quickly dump my food out into a bowl, ready to stir in the mashed potatoes, only to find, they weren't there. I have always ordered this meal and never had to specify what side I get as the default side is mashed potatoes. I call the restaurant to see what went wrong. The lady asks me what I would like done? I told her that I will drive all the way back to get the side that I paid for. She told me it was funny because she asked the server when the order was rang in if I needed a side and the server told her I did not want a side. (Which was not true. She never asked me what side I wanted.) I drive back to the restaurant to get the 2 orders of potatoes, thinking this would get resolved. When I walked in the door, 3 different workers passed me and never once acknowledged me. The server that helped me finally approached me with my potatoes and a very angry look. She rudely told me that I have to ask for a side. I told her that the years that I have ordered this, I have never done that and it always comes with potatoes. She then started to raise her voice. At this point I had about 5-7 new customers behind me waiting to sit down. She told me that a side comes with it and that it was my fault that I didn't tell her I wanted one. I then asked if a side came with it, why wouldn't she ask what side I wanted instead of assuming I didn't want a side. She continued to yell at me and then tossed the bag at me and told me that I have my potatoes now and I can leave. I have worked in the food industry in the past. I admit that I have made multiple mistakes. Once I realize I am wrong, I always at least apologize and try to correct it. I never expected to get blamed for something this small and even get yelled at for it. It was embarrassing and very rude. I dont think that I will ever come back to this restaurant after the way I was treated today, and that will be hard because they do have good food. There is something wrong in the management with the way they let their servers treat customers. read more

Have not been there in a while was looking forward to having a great meal, needless to say it took a long time to get our food. Then it was not good at all. Prime rib was over cooked, salmon was dry and over cooked, and the other two meals the family members had were terrible as well. Will never go back. read more

Mother's Day 2019: My husband, daughter, and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time. We walked in and 2 servers were behind the bar. Both looked at us and said nothing. Other staff walked by and said nothing. Finally I told my husband that I was surprised nobody even greeted us. Then one of the 2 servers said 'someone will be with you'. A few minutes later, a different server said the same thing. Finally, a woman came from the back of the facility and asked us if we had a reservation. During the entire 'visit', other customers were entering and were just as rude as the staff. Needless to say, I told the lady that we were just going to leave because we felt so unwelcome. She said 'ohhh, I'm sorry.' I guess my money wasn't needed there because my husband and daughter are not the ethnicity they wanted in their business. They lost the potential for a returning customer and a great tip. I will never visit this place again. read more

My partner Tony and I have been trying restaurants in the Springfield area. We moved here 2 years ago... We noticed this place on the way to Columbus and thought we would give it a try...Arrived around 6PM and found we were the only 2 people there...One very strange thing was - I felt I was sitting in a nursing home...The place has little ambiance...I though Oh No this was not a good idea...But we went ahead and had a chicken dinner and a pork tenderloin sandwich and to our great surprise the food was really good. Showed up around 550pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were in the area for the first time in years & had high hopes due to coworkers talking it up (ages ago--- I was just pleased it survived 2020). Took about 10 mins to be seated, no biggie. We were given option of waiting 15 mins or sitting outside. We chose outside & just played on our phones for about the first hour. We were warned that they were down a cook after we were seated, but we felt we could endure (my mistake). That's when the only other ppl seated outside decided to leave (loud, obnoxious drunk in that party so we were pleased) saying they'd been there over 90 mins & not gotten their orders yet either. I don't doubt that because the same couple sitting at the bar when we walked in was handed there food as we walked out at 720pm. My best guess was there needed to be some management/staffing added on (in addition to the cook). Either way, I lost patience when the waitress mentioned a party of 30 COMING IN & then later F#CKED UP & tried to tell us (& the other "outsiders" party of 4) that we were suddenly in queue behind the party of 30 for our food. Uh, nope. Had we carried enough cash we would have dumped it on the table & walked out, but they at least checked us out quickly. read more

This place is always friendly and is one of our favorite restaurants in Springfield. The BBQ Burger is to die for and so is their battered onion rings. I have had many of the main dishes here and all of them are excellent. Their prices are not bad either. read more

Very unpleasant experience. Waited over 2 hours because of a large group, but they did not tell us in advance about the wait, no apology or anything afterwards, and the staff was overall just unpleasant. Food was also mediocre. Save yourself a miserable experience and go somewhere else. read more

Takes forever to get your food I would say atleast an hour , waitresses barely check on you , you sit with an empty cup waiting as 3 of them pass by without asking if anything is needed ... wait another 30 minutes for a box and check ... the food is good , the service is terrible ... I went around 1-3 so it wasn't very busy ... there's no excuse for the poor service ... the only upside is that the food was very good ! read more

The food is pretty good. They need to improve on their hospitality. The lady who may be the manager (not sure) is not friendly, and we usually stand around for a few minutes after coming in waiting for someone to acknowledge us (while staff go back and forth in front of us). Service is uneven. Staff needs some training, but overall my family likes this place. I love the chicken wrap, and the Meadows has THE. BEST. onion rings. My husband and son love the burgers and house steak. Good food, need to improve on the hospitality and service side of running a restaurant. read more

This USED to be one of my favorite places, especially for lunch since I work close by. A co-worker and I went for lunch today. We ordered within 10 minutes of being seated. Four other tables near us were seated after we had ordered. When the other tables began being served, I asked if ours would be ready soon, the waitress replied "I've been asked that a lot today". All of the tables seated after we had ordered were served and we still had nothing. Final straw was when the table behind us - which was the last of the four tables seated - was served and the waitress said to them "hope you didn't have to wait too long". We walked out. read more

The meadows is a really nice place to go for a drink or some great food! I'm a huge prime rib fan and this place BY FAR has the best prime rib in the area! The staff is mostly family and they treat you like one of their own. When I say good food, that doesn't cover it. You really need to go in and try it for self since everyone has different opinions on what they like. Fair prices, fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely a nice place! read more

First and last time to eat here. First off the salad was a bag salad. not fresh at all had to pick out the brown lettuce. I ordered the house steak thinking they would know how to prepare a good steak. I was wrong my medium steak came out well done and burnt and tough. Sent it back hoping they would get it right. Not.
