Great food and cute place. Family owned. Tiny place. Price was about 25% too high but they are small and open only on the weekends. So I get it. Don't let the overpriced menu scare you off. It's a good experience. read more

Stopped in here for a pre-hike breakfast. Very indescript so keep your eyes open, or you'll miss it! However, once you find this place, you'll find the outside is nice and quaint, like going to Grandma's house for breakfast. The interior is small but nice, and decorated all over with little nicknacks. Everything is clean, including the bathroom. The people inside are all small town nice chatty folk, customers and staff alike. Don't let the older waitress scare ya, she looks mean, but she's actually very nice. The food: It doesn't seem like a lot at first, but what you get is actually plenty of food for the price. We filled up with just a basic plate of omelet and pancakes and some coffee. I will say that the pancakes are pretty dense, they could definitely use some fluffing, but everything has good flavor, including the coffee! I would definitely go back if I were back in the area for another hike. read more

This place is closed. Or at least it was Monday morning despite their hours saying that they are open. Nobody answers the phone, and there is yellow tape across the staircase. read more

I've been here twice now when visiting and you just can't beat the charm and the "off the beaten path" vibes here. You truly feel like you've walked into a friendly neighbor's home and they've decided to cook for you....next to a fire...at their dining table. It's so cozy. I've just had breakfast here so far. It's fresh and home cooked tasting. My sister and other family members rave about the huevos rancheros. We also always rave about their coffee...they add a touch of cinnamon to it. It's so good and just something different to enjoy. Our service this time could have been a bit better...perhaps our server was new, as my sister said she doesn't typically have that experience. If you find yourself coming through or near Allenspark, don't miss this true one of a kind experience. read more

Meadow Mountain Cafe - Delicious fresh omlet. Ham was so good. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Allenspark, Colorado

A wonderful cafe introduced to me by my great-aunt many years ago. Its longevity is an indication of the quality of the food, the service, and the mountain casual atmosphere. We bought a cookbook from here many years ago and reference its recipes often. read more

This place is amazing. Don't hesitate....just go. Double check they are open as some people say that is iffy.....but if it's open - Go!

A friend took me there for breakfast today. He's been eating there for nearly 40 years. I had the 4 egg Mexican omelet with homemade salsa and wheat toast. Home fries. I'm so sorry I forgot to photograph the food. It was chilly outside and we devoured the food as soon as it arrived. It was plentiful and well presented. I asked for the potatoes crispy and they were perfect. The Omelet was large and perfectly cooked. The fresh salsa was spicy, with a hint of habanero. It was a perfect breakfast. Highly recommended. 8am-2pm only. Wednesday thru Sunday. It's worth the drive. read more

Was driving through Allenspark today and came across this cute little place and we decided to try, we're glad we did. Good food, beautiful scenery, friendly staff. I searched for a breakfast place that was local good and off the beaten path, on our drive from Estes Park to Boulder that would please my wife and decided to come here. An excellent decision I made. I had the huevos rancheros and my beautiful bride had the 2 egg Greek omelet. Both dishes were excellent and the ambiance was spectacular. Definitely will make a point to make this a destination stop the next time we travel to Colorado. Don't stop here if you are in a hurry and want to get in and out as the sign informs you before you enter. read more

The food was great. I had the Denver Omelet and pancakes ! The coffee had a touch of cinnamon which makes a very tasty. Overall the eclectic settings is quite interesting. If you have to wait for a table it is worth it. read more

The quaint little mountain cafe is so good. Food was great and coffee was hot on a chilly rainy morning. This place is very quaint- expect to wait for one of the few tables. But it doesn't disappoint!! read more

This spot is truly a gem - a quintessential mountain town eatery with delicious food, a feel like you're in someone's warm mountain home and very welcoming servers. It's small so probably good to get there early. Clearly a place that respects the beautiful nature it's in and encourages you to slow down and enjoy where you are. read more

I've been eating at the Meadow Mountain Cafe for over two decades. It's known to be a little slower but time slows down in the mountains and the food was always worth it. Fast forward to this weekend. They make it clear that they are short staffed. One waitress, one cook and one dishwasher. I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is the attitude I got from the waitress after waiting 90 minutes and questioning her about our food. She was blatantly rude and confrontational. She had the cook deliver our food, who said, "Sorry, I didn't know you were in a rush". A rush? If I were in a rush I wouldn't have sat down in the first place but was I prepared to wait almost two hours? No. After we got our food our waitress immediately came out and said, "I wouldn't want you to wait for this", as she slammed our check down on the table. I will never go here again. But I will say this, the older gentleman who brings drinks was a total delight. Hopefully his attitude will rub off on the waitress. read more

Meadow mountain cafe is a darling hole-in-the-wall dive specializing in burgers and breakfast food. We stopped on our way back from RMNP (not far off the route back to Denver) and we will definitely be coming again. The 1am burger was especially good. We could hear them frying our fries in the next room (the whole meal was fresh). This is a local business doing it right that deserves your patronage. read more

Amazing food. Small town vibes. Greeted with a hello when we walked in. Highly recommend

Looks nice outside and you would expect good service but it's one of the most terrible services I have ever experienced. While I was waiting in line people were starting to leave and saying it's lousy service. I decided to wait. All tables were dirty. When I asked the waitress to clean up the table she told me if you don't like to wait don't eat here. We don't care. read more

What a great find right outside of Estes Park, in Allenspark! First, this pretty and quaint little Cafe is so welcoming ! We arrived @ 8:am and we're immediately greeted by our friendly waiter. We chose a little corner table outside on the pretty little porch, watching all of the feisty little hummers jockey for position at all of the feeders . I ordered two buttermilk pancakes that were as by as my plate and, were the best I've ever eaten....with a side of bacon and potatoes with onion & bell pepper...so dang good! My husband & our daughter's boyfriend ordered two fried eggs, bacon, home fries & Homemade Wheat Toast and Homemade Strawberry Preserves, with some of the best coffee they'd had in a long time...they think that they detected a hint of cinnamon...? Our daughter ordered the Crystal Springs Spinach Omelette with a side of sauteed mushrooms and potatoes with bell pepper & onions and a glass of freshly squeezed Orange Juice...perfect! It is the perfect little breakfast spot, situated just below the beautiful Rockies! Meadow Mountain Cafe has been in the Allenspark since the 1920's, and the locals say, it hasn't changed a bit. Meadow Mountain Cafe is a cozy little cabin with a toasty little potbellied stove inside. The cafe has been owned and operated by the St.John family for three generations. We will certainly be back! **Be sure to call and check their hours before you head out because, it Does Change...and, don't be in a hurry, because, they aren't. = ) read more

Dont go to this place unless you are a local or old white person. People are rude and food is mediocre at best. The only saving grace was their coffee but still absolutely not worth the rudeness. read more

Loved this place. Fresh, healthy, home-cooked fare off the beaten path. We headed here for a hearty breakfast after a morning ride at the nearby stables. Cinnamon-scented coffee. Giant fluffy pancakes (hint: order *one* per kid). Yummy omelets. Thick toast made from home-baked bread. Cute decor - have to guess the art glass is from the Estes Park handblown glass place. Eat on the porch if there's a table available. read more

We were Coming Down from Estes Park today and found this little gem. We had the BLT and my brother had the pancakes . The atmosphere was Quaint . They have a sign on the door that says this is not Fast Food, sit down and relax. Nothing could be more true. However it is worth the wait. read more

This is a great spot!! A very small cafe that has those good feels! They have about 5 tables inside and 2 communal tables outside. The staff here are very friendly and always willing to help out. I would recommend getting here early as it fills up and you might find yourself waiting a while. The food is great and feels like you're at your grans house-good home cooked food. The cinnamon rolls are awesome-they arrive hot and delicious. They have loads of staple choices on the menu and a personal favourite is the huevos rancheros. The coffee has cinnamon in it and just adds that extra bit of flavour. I've only had breakfast here, many times and it's good! They have a lunch menu too that they start serving from 11:00 onwards. You should definitely check this place out. read more

This is such a great little hidden gem of a café! My mom and I are staying in town, on vacation from Chicago, and the gentleman we're renting from had it listed as one of his favorite places. If it wasn't for him, we never would've found it! Our first trip here, I had the banana pancakes with chocolate chips. SO good! And the pancakes were huge! They were the size of the plate! The coffee was equally amazing. It had a hint of cinnamon...still not sure if that was the coffee itself, or the creamer, but it's delicious. We enjoyed this little place so much, that we came back the next morning for the fantastic cinnamon rolls. This is such a great little family run place. The world needs more of this, for sure. read more

YOU CAN'T! YOU CAN'T FIND A BETTER PLACE FOR BREAKFAST & LUNCH! This sweet, mountainy cafe is chock-full of goodness and quality. Not only is the heart-warming family story a gentle tap on the heart, the food is CRA-CRA-CRAZY awesome. From southwestern-style eggs with green chili to the 1AM Burger and DOUBLE-BACON BLT, you will not be able to stop cramming their outrageous concoctions forcefully into your face. You just might choke to death. IT'S PERFECT. If you're in Boulder, it's worth the trip. You don't even have to wear your matching REI yuppie camping outfits! Just get in the car and get your ass up to Allenspark. If you're in Denver, it's worth the trip, especially since you hate living in Denver. If you live in Allenspark, you are one lucky F*ER! Warm, authentic environment, great coffee, hot teas and root beer! I ate there 3 times because, well, it's food porn. Just go. You'll love it! read more

Perfect getaway breakfast or lunch outside Rocky Mountain. The drive to Allenspark is lovely, but in the summer come early or prepare to wait. The restaurant is located in a small mountain cabin, and all orders are made fresh. We enjoy the omelets, breakfast skillets, and pancakes. For lunch the burgers and soups are delicious. You may have to share the table on the porch with other people, but that's part of the mountain camaraderie. read more

The term "hidden gem" is used all-too-often, especially on Yelp. No, the Taco Bell on Colorado Blvd is NOT a hidden gem because they don't give a crap how much hot sauce they give you, nor is the Wingstop by your house a hidden gem because they'll keep your wings in an extra 60 seconds to crisp them up a buttload. This place? Yes. This place is a hidden gem. To the "T", definition of. A HIDDEN GEM. I have no clue how we would have found this place without Google Maps, the YELP app, and some good old fashioned GPS. Seriously. On a worn-out road, tucked into the side of a sleepy little town, we found it. Quaint. Cute. Home-style. I don't know. Add a thousand little qualifying words in here, and if they mean something positive, they'll fit. Walked in and were greeted by a small dining room. I mean small. 4 4-tops, a 2-top, and 3 seats at what passes for a counter. I'm 6'3", no way I would have fit at the bar. But we grabbed a spot at the 4-topper in the corner, and settled in. Waitress (and only employee we saw) was great. She was smiling, friendly, warm, welcoming, and prompt with everything. Had coffee on the freezing cold, windy day. They add a dash of cinnamon, which I initially wasn't sure about, but dang, I liked it. Quite a bit. I ended up with biscuits & gravy, as I am a huge sucker for them. The girlfriend ended up with Denver Hash, which I will get to in a second. But my biscuits and gravy were crazy good. I think the gravy could make a case for the best I have ever had. It was spicy, thick, and full of big ol' pieces of spicy sausage. Piled high on a couple of warm, flaky biscuits, and, when I tore the yolk from the eggs I had added on top, was delicious enough to make me end up with a stomach ache and I destroyed them like a conquering warlord, intent on the destruction of biscuits and gravy. Weird analogy, whatever, they were damn good. Girlfriend's Denver Hash was chock-full of...ACTUAL HASHED MEAT. Wutttttt. Usually places claim they have a hash, but it ends up being anything but. This time, it was meaty, filling, and damn good. Price was great, food was great, everything was great. GREAT! read more

Love this place! Excellent food, excellent people. The omelettes are super fresh the homemade bread is wicked good. French toast made with their homemade bread is some of the best I've ever had. Good burgers and homemade fries in an unusual location. We were here scouting out a wedding location for our daughter. She paid for lunch, one of the reasons I liked this place. Another was the food and the down home atmosphere. The bathroom is an outhouse in house. Check it out. read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. The food is amazing. Service is awesome. Friendly crew and for the amount of food that gets pushed out of the back Joe is the only cook. We went here for lunch. The restaurant is off the highway and easy to miss, but worth finding. One of our party went inside to pay (cash only I believe), but the rest of us sat on the porch and never even went inside. An older gentleman on a bike rode up and we struck up a nice conversation with him before and during lunch. The tables and picnic tables on the porch encourage you to get to know your neighbor. The food? One side of the menu was breakfast (served all day), and the other side was lunch. Two of us had salmon burgers, which were delicious, while the other two had BLT's on that homemade bread everyone keeps writing about. Our party raved about it too. The cinnamon coffee was a big hit as well. If you're going for lunch, get there early, and it filled up pretty well by noon. read more

This restaurant was a diamond in the rough. My wife and I traveled down from Estes Park to Allenspark on April 20. We knew nothing about this restaurant and just happened upon it. It's nestled on the side of a hill and it's real quaint. We were just looking for a restaurant that was open and boy were we surprised to find this place. We were taken aback by the quaintness of the inside of the restaurant. We had coffee and cheeseburgers the coffee had a slight cinnamon taste to it which was wonderful and the whole atmosphere was very warm and relaxing. I specially like the sign on the front door that read "This is not fast food". We were able to slow down and enjoy ourselves and have the best cheeseburgers around. This place is wonderful. I recommend it to anybody. read more

Stopped here while on vacation in Estes Park. The service was great. The coffee was absolutely delicious, so glad I checked Yelp before heading out to breakfast. I got the banana pancakes(ordered 2), which are massive and I pretty much ate the equivalent of one. My girlfriend got the huevos rancheros and I'm pretty sure if I'd tried to sneak a taste I would have been stabbed in the hand. Great cozy place, tucked away in a gorgeous mountain setting. I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody who either lives around the area, or is just visiting. read more

This place is a destination! Take your sweetheart, take your friends and family and drive on up here for a great meal - homemade everything, jam, biscuits, beans. Huevos, sandwiches, onion rings (!), omelets and their truly famous green chili with pork. Take some of this home with a side of tortillas and you will be so happy later in the day. Bonus is the drive - a gorgeous trip from any angle. I highly recommend this route from Boulder: take Lee Hill drive til it ends at Left Hand Canyon. Take a left. Go up through Ward. Right on Hwy 72. Left on Hwy 7. Left on Main Street through Ferncliff and up to Allenspark. It's also a nice drive from Nederland along Hwy 72, Peak to Peak. Enjoy. read more

This place is a great find. Spending my summer working in Estes Park, and sometimes it's nice to get away from the town. I heard about this little spot from a friend, and I decided to check it out. The food is great! I ordered one of the omelets. The ingredients were fresh, and the reviews were right: the toast with homemade bread was amazing! I also love that they give the option of toast & potatoes or pancakes as a side with your omelette!
