    Samoa and peanut butter

This is a small, local run place and the food was amazing! It was a bustling little place with only a handful of tables but the prices were super reasonable, biscuits and gravy were so good and my husband loved the pot pie. We tried the samoa and peanut butter pies.

4/26/25-Went to grab lunch here, but as we were waiting to order we saw other people's food coming out and were disappointed. They were serving small portions for high prices. Instead we decided to just try their pies. The pies were about average in quality with neither one really standing out in any way. I would say go here just to try the pie, but skip their other food due to small size for high price.

My daughter and I grabbed some take-out from here for dinner early last month and it was a decent experience. We ordered our food and waited about 10-15 minutes, which was good considering how busy they were. I ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and my daughter ordered a veggie burrito with a side of fruit. The chicken fried steak was good but was thin and not a big portion that you expect when ordering a chicken fried steak, and the amount of scrambled eggs was kind of a joke, (see my pics). My daughter liked her burrito but again, it was small. It looks like they cut it in half and we got one half. For the prices they charge, I expected to get a bit more food than what we got. I was looking at the pie's and one slice was almost $7. I absolutely love pie but I couldn't bring myself to paying that much for one slice. If/when we venture out to EP again, I'm not sure if I would go back.

Moldy caramel apple pie that we got to go. When we called they offered to exchange it. Wasn't worth the hour+ drive.

Lunch food was ok. We ordered 3 pieces of pie to go. 2 of the 3 had extensive mold. I have included a picture of the worst one.

    Cherry Peach Pie

Stopped in on a whim after a winter hike. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and were hungry. Although we had lunch plans elsewhere, we were enticed to buy a whole pie! We brought it home for that evening. After some debate, we settled on a cherry peach pie. The filling, as you can see, is generous. This is a pie packed with yummy goodness. The establishment is tiny, hole-in-the-wall vibe. Service was friendly; we were greeted upon walking in. Next time, I'd go for a few different slices rather than one whole pie, mainly so we could sample more flavors. Price was pretty standard for buying a whole pie - I think between $30-35. Pie lovers should definitely give this place a try! I mean, who doesn't need pie every now and then!?!

    S'mores pie with ice cream

We might need pie, but we probably don't need this pie again. Not wanting one of the fruit varieties, we each had a slice of the s'mores pie. Slices were small, and they were really just a firm chocolate pudding with mini marshmallows on top. Nothing about it really tasted like s'mores, and shouldn't a s'mores pie be served hot or at least the marshmallows have a char to them? Ice cream was good, but nothing else about the pie screamed anything we'd need again. We weren't even given (or even saw) napkins. Two slices with ice cream, tax, and tip for counter service was $20. I'll probably need a lot of things before more pie from here.

Fun, lively restaurant with an 'oldies' theme. We stopped in just for dessert, a yummy piece of pie. I chose blueberry and peach pie and husband had s'more pie. We both liked our choices very much. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Their patio was cozy but a little too chilly for us so we took a table inside and listened to Elvis and other oldies music. Service was great. Servers were hustling back and forth to ensure speedy ordering and delivery of food. Their menu has funny ways of describing their options so take some time to find them and enjoy their humor. Fun stop.

Dirty, nasty place with incompetent servers and cooks who like hanging out behind the counter. Maybe that's why our food never got cooked and delivered. If you sit in the main room, look under the pie case. It seems they haven't swept under there since 1990. Full of dirt, dust and who knows what else, it will make you gag. The old lady who was outside seating people had absolutely no personality and should be fired immediately. The dump of Estes Park...aka "You want a broom?

Chocolate peanut butter pie and mango key lime pie
    Joshua K.

A good pie place. I got slices of the mango key lime pie and the chocolate peanut butter pie. The mango key lime pie was outstanding-I loved the graham cracker crust, the tanginess of the key limes, and the small tastes of the sweet mango. I found the chocolate peanut butter pie to have too much cream on the top which overwhelmed the chocolate and peanut butter, and the crust to have a subpar texture. I would suggest to You Need Pie that they get rid of their "Straight Outta the Oven" merchandise. While I'm sure they intended no harm, it is an uncomfortable reference to the concentration camps.

Thick, homemade pies with plenty of filling and well-made crusts. Not particularly innovative nor creative, and not exceptional to the point of being a long-lasting memory; but a good accompaniment to conclude one's dinner.

    Is this business pet friendly?

I believe so if you keep them out on the patio area in which they have a very large and lovely patio.

    Are gluten free pies available?

The cashier was super friendly and let us have as much candy as we wanted, helped us pick menu items, and was very honest about wait times due to their busyness but was still quick to get our orders out as soon as she could. The restaurant has few tables so its more of a grab and go spot, but it is possible to sit at a small counter or select few tables. The sandwiches were all good, some better than others. Some people were happier with them than others. The specialty sandwiches got the best reviews.

All of their meats are cured in house and served on their fresh baked bread each day. They are vegetarian friendly and offer vegan and gluten free options. They also offer breakfast items like burritos. Be aware their sandwiches are loaded with ingredients and big. I could only eat half of my sandwich. I do appreciate the size though as you never know how hungry you are going to be after a long hike especially in this altitude. We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh. Their baked goods looked so inviting especially the cinnamon rolls. I will have to come back! Service was efficient and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when they are busy. It was the perfect stop before entering the park!
