    Way Finder Fish Tacos
    Monica P.

When we first came in and looked at the menu, my husband and I were almost ready to walk out because of how high the prices were. Everything on the menu is an average of $20-$26+ and that's even for things as simple as appetizers, salads or sandwiches. However, when we got our food and tried it, absolutely delicious!!! Made more sense for the pricing. Unfortunately we probably will not come back here just because of the high prices but we got engaged here in 2017 (when it was a different restaurant) so it was still special to come back for the last time

After horseback riding in the Rocky Mountains, our tour guide recommended Wayfinder to grab lunch. First impression is the parking situation on the outside is a mess. There's not enough parking because right next to the restaurant is a country store and they share the same parking lot. The view is beautiful from the restaurant. You can see the mountains and it's breath taking. The service is really great here and we were seated without wait. I ordered the bison burger medium and it was cooked to the right temp. This is the first bison burger I tried that was not dry! It was cooked perfectly. The burger is under seasoned. French fries weren't anything special and the burger wasn't anything special. The bacon was thick and crispy which I loved! My friend got the pasta dish and said it was ok. It wasn't anything special either. It was cheesy and the garlic butter toast was perfect. Prices were priced at the higher end. Do I recommend this place? Its not a blown you mind type of food and it's overly priced. I personally will not be coming back but I also live out of state.

We went here twice. Awesome. For Breakfast and then same day for dinner. Why go looking for something else when they are what you want. Service both times was wonderful. Love the atmosphere. Really a classy place, I will say the outside made me wonder but the inside omg! So pretty! Food was fantastic. Crème brûlée was to crave for more for sure!

This was my personal favorite breakfast in Estes Park! My eggs benedict, which I got on a biscuit, and breakfast potatoes were very tasty. I also loved the biscuits and gravy! We both got horchata lattes that we really enjoyed. Unfortunately my husband did not care for his chicken and waffles and he is a chicken and waffles connoisseur so I will trust his judgement. Our server was very friendly and she makes a great latte! It seems like they have beautiful outdoor seating as well in the warmer months.

Everything about this place was fairly average. The menu is extensive, but because I was not in a position to take leftovers home, I was not interested in a large entrée. Perhaps my experience would have been different had I chosen a steak or fish. My husband ordered a basic burger. I was expecting something juicy and delicious. Frankly, the patty was pretty small and it was very, very ordinary. The cheesy grits had a nice texture, but they were very bland. I has the super salad. it looked delicious and tasted pretty good. I was a little disappointed that some of the berries were squishy and at least one had mold on it. Our server was nice enough, but she was very quiet and really hard to hear. She could've been more attentive, especially considering the restaurant was not very crowded. The exterior of the building could definitely use some work. Inside was decent enough, but a little TLC would really take it up several notches.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews on Yelp! This is a cute and cozy restaurant located just outside the national park. We were one of two parties seated in the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, I was bummed because they said us in the dining room near the parking lot while there was an entire dining room with a large window overlooking a frozen pond. We would have loved the dining area with the view, however I feel we were seated closer to the kitchen. They have a big menu which would be a bonus for families or those traveling with picky eaters. We all found something we liked, but the prices did not match the quality of the food. Our meal was fine, but not exceptional.

I would give this place a 3.5 stars. It's actually a decent place for diner food, especially for the area. We went after a weekend trip and it was an enjoyable place with nice service. Now, this might have been on me, but for some reason, I decided to order the Breakfast Trout. By all means, it was not bad, just a little bland. It was fine, but I would not order it again. It was also decently sized. The other people in my party ordered more usual breakfast dishes, they said that their orders were good but again, lacking a little bit of flavor. Though to be fair, there's not much to do with regular breakfast food. Overall, it's a nice place, but I'm not clawing to be back here next time I'm in Estes Park.

We ate here twice during our stay in Estes park. The staff is friendly and helpful with the menu. The one thing that stood out for us compared to other restaurants we ate at in Estes Park was their service. They were on top of their game checking on us frequently and providing g refills as needed. Another restaurant that we visited we didn't have a waiter come to our table for over 15 minutes after being seated! We liked Wayfinder for several reasons. We were able to sit on the deck with our dog for a meal. The food is fantastic- everything g we got or saw coming out of the kitchen was prepared well. Between our two visits we ordered the elk. Burger (no picture), steak and fries, and rainbow trout. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice with big open windows overlooking the pond behind the restaurant.

Met the owners of the establishment, always a treat and good sign. I Suggest any of the lattes, they come in a big drink glass not a cup. The chai and Irish lattes were delicious and not too strong. Their suggestions on the menu are legit. The salmon salad, ancient grain bowl and soups were large portions. The place itself is very nice, clean with a modern rustic vibe and good prices.

The food and view here were both great! The service was quick and attentive as well. The prices were what I'd expect in a tourist town and relatively fair. There were omnivore, pescatarian, gluten-free, and vegetarian options available.

Great steak and Elk. Cooked perfectly. Yukon potatoes were thick and delicious. Brussel sprouts and asparagus were tasty. Great meal after a day in the national park. We got seated immediately upon entering. Server was attentive. It's a casual restaurant right outside the entrance to rent.

    Estes BBQ Burger
    Lindsey C.

The Estes BBQ Burger comes with a burger patty, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, onion strings, and double cheddar. The Mountain Man Burger comes with an Elk patty, pepper jack, grilled poblano, avocado, and garlic aioli. You also get a choice of hand cut fries, sweet potato fries, or a small house salad with your burger. Both burgers tasted pretty good, but I'd say that I liked the Estes BBQ Burger more only bc I wasn't a huge fan of the Elk patty in the other burger. The Tres Leches Bread Pudding was delicious! Customer service was great and the views around the restaurant are beautiful.

Otherwise, we were mightily disappointed. Saturday, late June ~1pm - we were seated quickly enough. Took a while for the server to take our order (~10 minutes before she came for our drink order) and it took well over 45 minutes for our food to come out! They weren't particularly busy (lots of open tables) and there were a lot of servers. Maybe short staffed in the kitchen? Probably more disappointing than waiting so long was the food itself. Potato soup was "fine" but nothing special and way too much bacon. Three of us got side salads and every single one of us had warm lettuce. Not even room temperature - warm, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The turkey panini had way more mayo that should be allowed on a sandwich and the bread was barely toasted. We waited so long for our food we couldn't risk sending it back. As it was, we were there for so long we had to change our afternoon plans to go to RMNP because we rain out of time. Fortunately, we live only an hour away so we can go back. If you are looking to maximize your time in Estes I would not recommend Notchtop. Plenty of other options in Estes.

It was that good the first time that we decided to come back and do it all over again the next day. Parking is somewhat limited, but we arrived early on weekday mornings and had no trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is charming from the outside, with a colorful "Greetings from Estes Park" old postcard mural that makes for a great photo opportunity. Inside, the atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and both days we were lucky enough to snag a window booth. Our first experience set the tone right away. We walked in just as a server was arriving for her shift. Noticing nobody was at the host stand, she seated us before even putting away her personal belongings. That's customer service. For breakfast, I ordered a special that I can't seem to find on the menu now--an Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. I debated swapping the greens for potatoes but decided to be healthy. To my surprise, the dish was served on crispy potato pancakes instead of an English muffin, which meant I got the best of both worlds. The combination was fantastic, and honestly, I think Eggs Benedict works even better on potato pancakes than on bread. Every bite was packed with flavor. The next morning, I made myself try something different, even though I was tempted to order the same thing again. I chose the Cambridge Skillet: smoked ham and bacon with jack and cheddar cheeses over seasoned ranch potatoes, topped with two over-easy eggs and creamy hollandaise. It was delicious and hearty, although my first day's breakfast still edged it out as my favorite. I also sampled my friend's whole wheat blueberry pancake. It was enormous and surprisingly flavorful. I especially appreciated that many of their sweeter breakfast options come with eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. It's a nice balance and makes for a more satisfying meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were consistently excellent on both visits. The Egg of Estes quickly became one of our favorite breakfast spots in Estes Park, and it's definitely somewhere we'll return on future trips.

So I asked them if they could make me a cold brew lemonade and they happily obliged. 2/3 cold brew, 1/3 lemonade, I love this stuff. It sounds odd, but trust me, it goes down smooth on a hot day! All symptoms point to food poisoning. We will not be back. This was our first visit to You Need Pie. What we liked: Our waiter was really hospitable, friendly, and did his best to provide service in a timely way despite being the only server available for all the customers. The coffee was decent, though in a small mug, and so was the hot chocolate we orders for the kids (which came with whipped cream, much to their delight!). The decor on the walls felt kind of scanty but what is there was cute. There is a pretty wide pie selection. Food serving sizes were okay. The single person bathroom was clean. What we didn't like: *The $2 veg add-ins of onion and jalapeños to the $12 omelette were raw. *The corned beef hash was extremely basic and barely seasoned, the potatoes were well cooked but bland and pale. It was edible but not worth $15. *Our party ordered a $9 bread bowl soup and waffle fries as well; it was eaten but the cheese ingredient was really overpowering in flavor - the small size was a good thing, in this case, because otherwise it couldn't have been finished. *The batter on the chicken tenders in the kid's meal were almost burnt on the edges, but still pale everywhere else. Something off with the oil temperature I guess. They didn't get eaten. *The color of everything was pretty much all beige and served on white plates, which impacted the impression of the meal - zero visual appeal. One of my favorite parts of eating at mom-and-pop diners is the way the meals feel homey, warming you from the inside out. This did not create that kind of impression. Lastly, the pie (which was the main draw for us and why we picked this dining option). We ordered one slice of rhubarb at $6.25. The pie was very disappointing - something in it was either stale or had gone bad. It tasted really unpleasant and we ended up throwing it away. Our total for everything was about $80 with tip and it was sadly not money well spent. We love stand alone dining options but probably will not be returning.
