We arrived early right after opening at 8 AM and were pleasantly surprised to see many tables available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have both inside and out door seating and the scenery is absolutely wonderful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food arrived quickly and everything was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fantastic show through the windows with the hummingbird feeders and a very bold Magpie.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Mountain Man Burger with bacon, egg, mushroom, onion, jalapeño added.

This was a nice find! We stopped at the Falls River Visitors Center before heading into the national park. This restaurant is attached to it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is some limited outdoor seating--if it's available, sit outside! The view is beautiful and hummingbirds use the feeders they have placed there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu includes some awesome burger options!! We got the Mountain Man burger and the Elk burger. Lots of topping options can be added for an up charge--like egg and bacon. The burgers were phenomenal! The sweet potato fries were a little overdone, but still tasty. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful with the topping suggestions.

Absolute shit. Ordered hot chocolate for the family and ended up spending $30 for a hot chocolate water from the machine with no milk. Thought we would get some nice hot chocolate after a hike in the freezing rockies, I guess i can't have good things Don't come here, I warned you.

    View from 2nd floor deck

Great bloody Mary's, good potato soup and fish and chips. Elk burger and mountain burger overcooked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was cold so they let us sit inside with our very well behaved dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Delicious local beer on the patio.

This place was perfect for us! We needed somewhere to eat dinner with our young son and dog and they were not only able to accommodate us but very gracious. Tony was our server and he was fantastic - even brought a bowl of water for our sweet pupper girl. The food hit the spot, and I really enjoyed my turkey reuben. The view was beautiful and being able to distract our son by walking around the attached store while we waited for our food was great. The playground next to the patio was a huge bonus for our family!

Very dry elk burger. Cold fries. $21

Awful. We ordered a buffalo burger and an elk burger. They both came on a bun with a little bit of bbq sauce. That's it. $21 each! The fries were ice cold. DO not go here for a burger! We sat on the patio with our dog. The smoking area is right around the corner, which made the whole experience even worse. And the best view is basically a parking lot.

This place was pretty good! We didn't stay far from here so we could have just gone back to our cabin to eat, but we ended up having Lunch here after we hiked one morning. It wasn't busy at all, we got to choose where we sat and we sat outside because the view and the weather was good even though it was raining a little. (it's a little smelly outside because there a stable 200ft away) I like that there's a small playground my kids and run around at for a bit. They had a good selection of drinks. I had the trout (it came with lemon butter and capers but I asked for it on the side because I wasn't sure if I'd like that, and I'm glad I asked for it on the side). My side of veggies that came with it was seasoned perfectly and the trout was amazing! It was cooked perfectly. My husband had a stew and that was pretty good too. This is a nice place to sit down and eat right out side of one of the RMNP entrances.

Hubby and I stopped here twice after being in the park. Great spot to rest and refuel. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and service was great. We sat on the deck outside both times; that was a treat to continue to be outside and see the views. Food was a bit hit or miss. The first time, I had french toast and he had an omelet and both were delicious. The second time, I had a BLT that was good but dry. He had a steak wrap that wasn't very flavorful and had more cabbage than meat. Still, we'll likely be back!

We love all of the different seating options; great bar, comfortable lounge area, chef's counter, cute patio and nice dining room. The food is always so good. The Hallets Peak Bowl is always my go-to. Fresh, healthy, and delish. The parking is not ideal; they have small parking lots on both sides of the restaurant. I've also read that their lots are full, locals recommend parking along High Drive, just past the county road sign and then walking 2-3 min to the restaurant. Enjoy!

The parking lot is fairly small, but there is additional parking available across the street the grocery store (not sure if you can park there but it worked for us). The menu looked solid, with a few things that caught my eye (albeit on the pricier side for a more casual spot). I ended up ordering the Colorado trout filet, and it was definitely the highlight for me. The trout was cooked well, very flavorful, and topped with a cilantro-lime sauce that paired well with it. It came with roasted corn and potatoes, which were both tasty, although I do wish there had been a little more of each. My fiancée ordered the beets and Bibb salad and added chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was probably the weakest part of the meal. It was fairly dry and didn't have much flavor. Overall, though, we had a good experience at Bird & Jim. The trout was exactly what I was looking for: light, healthy, & flavorful. There are quite a few other things on the menu I'd like to try, so we'd open to returning next time we are in the area.

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

There was a lot of tender meat and the dish was very flavorful. I had the reuben and it was excellent. One of the best I have had. The fries were crispy and coated with a delicious seasoning. There were a couple of mix-ups with our order, including Mezcal which has a very distinct taste accidentally being added to my margarita, and some incorrect side dishes but the staff handled everything quickly and professionally. Since the restaurant had only recently reopened with a new menu, the mistakes were understandable. I ordered the Smashburger with fries, and my friend had the chicken fajita sandwich with a salad. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable for the area. The rooftop offers beautiful views of Estes Park and is conveniently located right in the shopping district. The only downside was the orange barrier coverings around parts of the rooftop while renovations were being completed. They blocked some of the views and took away a bit of the ambiance. We sat down and about 10 minutes later, a couple sat behind us and our waitress visited and brought water to their table first instead of ours. In addition, another couple behind us was not seen by any waiter/waitress and had to ask a worker (who might have been an assistant manager? Although, not clear what his position was) if they can order with him. Overall service felt scattered, a bit slow overall, and unprofessional. Food: I ordered the tex mex bowl with barbacoa. It tasted as expected, nothing spectacular. However, there was a massive piece of plastic in my food. I let the waitress know and she apologized on behalf of the kitchen. I kept the meal because I hate waste and I didn't see any other plastic pieces in the food. Right after I found the plastic, I also discovered a bone in the meat. It was big enough to hurt a tooth if I had bit down on it but thankfully I spit it out before I chewed my food completely. While a bone might be normal to find in meat, I was certainly unhappy that now two objects were in this food. I was never comped for my meal and the manager never visited my table to apologize. I only write reviews if I had a fantastic experience or when I feel the need to warn others about the restaurant. I recommend choosing another restaurant before choosing this one if you prefer quality food and service.
