Great bloody Mary's, good potato soup and fish and chips. Elk burger and mountain burger overcooked. It was cold so they let us sit inside with our very well behaved dog.

Delicious local beer on the patio.

This place was perfect for us! We needed somewhere to eat dinner with our young son and dog and they were not only able to accommodate us but very gracious. Tony was our server and he was fantastic - even brought a bowl of water for our sweet pupper girl. The food hit the spot, and I really enjoyed my turkey reuben. The view was beautiful and being able to distract our son by walking around the attached store while we waited for our food was great. The playground next to the patio was a huge bonus for our family!

Very dry elk burger. Cold fries. $21

Awful. We ordered a buffalo burger and an elk burger. They both came on a bun with a little bit of bbq sauce. That's it. $21 each! The fries were ice cold. DO not go here for a burger! We sat on the patio with our dog. The smoking area is right around the corner, which made the whole experience even worse. And the best view is basically a parking lot.

This place was pretty good! We didn't stay far from here so we could have just gone back to our cabin to eat, but we ended up having Lunch here after we hiked one morning. It wasn't busy at all, we got to choose where we sat and we sat outside because the view and the weather was good even though it was raining a little. (it's a little smelly outside because there a stable 200ft away) I like that there's a small playground my kids and run around at for a bit. They had a good selection of drinks. I had the trout (it came with lemon butter and capers but I asked for it on the side because I wasn't sure if I'd like that, and I'm glad I asked for it on the side). My side of veggies that came with it was seasoned perfectly and the trout was amazing! It was cooked perfectly. My husband had a stew and that was pretty good too. This is a nice place to sit down and eat right out side of one of the RMNP entrances.

Hubby and I stopped here twice after being in the park. Great spot to rest and refuel. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and service was great. We sat on the deck outside both times; that was a treat to continue to be outside and see the views. Food was a bit hit or miss. The first time, I had french toast and he had an omelet and both were delicious. The second time, I had a BLT that was good but dry. He had a steak wrap that wasn't very flavorful and had more cabbage than meat. Still, we'll likely be back!

We made a quick stop before entering rocky mountain national park and ended up getting lunch here! The outside seating has great view! I got salmon sandwich and potato salad. That potato salad was bomb! I enjoyed salad more than sandwich! It was great. All the servers were very friendly and attentive! Food was okay but It's good place to eat something before you head to the park!

Wife and I both got the special non-beef burgers She got the elk, and I got the every animal on the planet one . I just basically got a bacon and cheddar burger, but with the different patty. Was very tasty, and noticeably different than beef. Will get it again the next time I go back. Great views and friendly service too.

Overcooked burger. We had been hiking all day so we ate it anyway.

All 4 people in our party ordered burgers medium rare. All 4 we're cooked beyond well done. Servers never refilled empty water glasses, paper napkins that wrapped the silverware were dirty, and when we complained about all of these things nobody seemed to care. I would never go back to this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone.

The burger on the lunch menu is absolutely amazing

Otherwise, we were mightily disappointed. Saturday, late June ~1pm - we were seated quickly enough. Took a while for the server to take our order (~10 minutes before she came for our drink order) and it took well over 45 minutes for our food to come out! They weren't particularly busy (lots of open tables) and there were a lot of servers. Maybe short staffed in the kitchen? Probably more disappointing than waiting so long was the food itself. Potato soup was "fine" but nothing special and way too much bacon. Three of us got side salads and every single one of us had warm lettuce. Not even room temperature - warm, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The turkey panini had way more mayo that should be allowed on a sandwich and the bread was barely toasted. We waited so long for our food we couldn't risk sending it back. As it was, we were there for so long we had to change our afternoon plans to go to RMNP because we rain out of time. Fortunately, we live only an hour away so we can go back. If you are looking to maximize your time in Estes I would not recommend Notchtop. Plenty of other options in Estes.

It was that good the first time that we decided to come back and do it all over again the next day. Parking is somewhat limited, but we arrived early on weekday mornings and had no trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is charming from the outside, with a colorful "Greetings from Estes Park" old postcard mural that makes for a great photo opportunity. Inside, the atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and both days we were lucky enough to snag a window booth. Our first experience set the tone right away. We walked in just as a server was arriving for her shift. Noticing nobody was at the host stand, she seated us before even putting away her personal belongings. That's customer service. For breakfast, I ordered a special that I can't seem to find on the menu now--an Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. I debated swapping the greens for potatoes but decided to be healthy. To my surprise, the dish was served on crispy potato pancakes instead of an English muffin, which meant I got the best of both worlds. The combination was fantastic, and honestly, I think Eggs Benedict works even better on potato pancakes than on bread. Every bite was packed with flavor. The next morning, I made myself try something different, even though I was tempted to order the same thing again. I chose the Cambridge Skillet: smoked ham and bacon with jack and cheddar cheeses over seasoned ranch potatoes, topped with two over-easy eggs and creamy hollandaise. It was delicious and hearty, although my first day's breakfast still edged it out as my favorite. I also sampled my friend's whole wheat blueberry pancake. It was enormous and surprisingly flavorful. I especially appreciated that many of their sweeter breakfast options come with eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. It's a nice balance and makes for a more satisfying meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were consistently excellent on both visits. The Egg of Estes quickly became one of our favorite breakfast spots in Estes Park, and it's definitely somewhere we'll return on future trips.

Good selection of coffee and breakfast and light lunch options. Also a small merch section - mugs, tees, coffee cups and canisters. All symptoms point to food poisoning. We will not be back. This was our first visit to You Need Pie. What we liked: Our waiter was really hospitable, friendly, and did his best to provide service in a timely way despite being the only server available for all the customers. The coffee was decent, though in a small mug, and so was the hot chocolate we orders for the kids (which came with whipped cream, much to their delight!). The decor on the walls felt kind of scanty but what is there was cute. There is a pretty wide pie selection. Food serving sizes were okay. The single person bathroom was clean. What we didn't like: *The $2 veg add-ins of onion and jalapeños to the $12 omelette were raw. *The corned beef hash was extremely basic and barely seasoned, the potatoes were well cooked but bland and pale. It was edible but not worth $15. *Our party ordered a $9 bread bowl soup and waffle fries as well; it was eaten but the cheese ingredient was really overpowering in flavor - the small size was a good thing, in this case, because otherwise it couldn't have been finished. *The batter on the chicken tenders in the kid's meal were almost burnt on the edges, but still pale everywhere else. Something off with the oil temperature I guess. They didn't get eaten. *The color of everything was pretty much all beige and served on white plates, which impacted the impression of the meal - zero visual appeal. One of my favorite parts of eating at mom-and-pop diners is the way the meals feel homey, warming you from the inside out. This did not create that kind of impression. Lastly, the pie (which was the main draw for us and why we picked this dining option). We ordered one slice of rhubarb at $6.25. The pie was very disappointing - something in it was either stale or had gone bad. It tasted really unpleasant and we ended up throwing it away. Our total for everything was about $80 with tip and it was sadly not money well spent. We love stand alone dining options but probably will not be returning.
