Pizza and tiramisu

After a long day of travel we are so happy we stopped by this place. Best tiramisu I've had in a long time and the pizza was perfect. We almost forgot to take A photo! Our server was incredibly kind and inside was cozy. Will be back again

The Uncle Tony: salami, pepperoni, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini, black olives, and oil & vinegar on a hoagie.

Where's Uncle Tony when you need him? Honestly, someone call Nonna and have her send Uncle Tony over to politely break some bread--or maybe some legs--because The Sandwich Mafia is disrespecting the family... and the sandwich game. These sandwiches? Fuggedaboutit. Dry, flavorless, and thinner than my cousin Vinny's patience. If this is what they're calling a "hit," then it's a miss, capisce? We ordered The Uncle Tony, which comes with salami, pepperoni, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini, black olives, and oil & vinegar on a hoagie. This was, without question, the saddest sandwich I've ever had the displeasure of paying for. One flimsy slice of each meat and cheese, and the bare minimum of veggies they could legally get away with. If Uncle Tony knew his name was being slapped on this, he'd have made The Sandwich Mafia sleep with the fishes. Their Instagram? Fugazi. It's all thick stacks of meat, cheese, and toppings. But what you actually get is a sad, limp excuse for a sandwich. Check the photos I posted if you need the visual heartbreak. Do yourself a favor--save your appetite, your wallet, and your dignity. Go eat somewhere else. Heck, even Subway would've been a hundred times better... and that's saying something.

This place has a fantastic location. As you walk down Elkhorn Ave, you'll notice a cool little sign at the start of an alleyway that says "Pizza." You'll also find a sign that points you through the alleyway and a menu. I give them credit for including the menu there as well; it makes it easier to decide to eat there without any pressure. Once you reach the end of the alley, you'll see the entrance. There is a second floor with seating and a bathroom, but you'll order downstairs. I will say, there isn't much seating, however, this place is more of a quick lunch before heading back to your stroll. The service was excellent - friendly and fast. The food came out fairly quickly. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, and something about their dough just tasted great. In my opinion, it was a very good pizza. We definitely enjoyed what this place had to offer. The unique location and delicious pizza make it a must-try!

Gluten Gluten-Free Crust Pizza (Personal) with onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and mushrooms.

Fantastic Gluten free pizza! Sixes were perfect for the prices and I wasn't disappointed also very much fit the mafia vibe of the place!!

When we walked in there was no line and right away we were greeted. You order your food fast casual and they bring it to you once you pay. The place has an upper level with tables that you can eat at and there are some condiments on the side. The place is cool with different pictures of mafia mobs. We got the pesto sandwich and the French dip and the pesto sandwich was our favorite!

We are new to Colorado and are exploring different areas. We stopped in for lunch and OH MY was it good! We ordered a personal pizza (pictured) and the "Alicia's Chicken Pesto" panini. They were very kind and everything was made to order and quickly! The seating area is upstairs and is quiet and clean. We will definitely be back!

All the other places were either closed or would've taken too slow as there was a limited amount of time, so I came here to eat a late lunch. It's hidden and down a tight alleyway. There are restrooms here, so that's good. It isn't a fancy place, more like a hole in the wall joint. At least you don't have to worry about anything pretentious here. They have their menu up on the wall to choose from. Service was very quick, and they brought the food to you even though you sat upstairs. It's the run of the old mill and no frills.

This place is great for a quick bite! The thin crust pizza with added toppings tasted great. Food was ready within minutes, so a major plus. The ambiance was very unique with Italian mob references everywhere, so if you're a big fan of The Godfather I highly recommend this place!

Skimpy sandwiches. Family got 4 sandwiches and only the Rubin was ok. Very little meat and mostly bread. Won't be back.

We ate here twice when we came to Estes Park. Legit delicious sandwiches tucked away in an unpretentious little shop off an alley. Yum!

We ordered two different kinds of sandwiches, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The flavor was completely on point, everything was so fresh, and they make it right in front of you. The deli is run by a super cute couple, and you can tell how much care they put into their business. We happened to visit during the shoulder season, so luckily the line wasn't very long. However, I've heard from others that this place is super popular, and during the peak summer season, there is usually a line waiting right out the door, and after eating here, I can totally see why! In fact, we loved it so much that we tried to go back the very next day, but unfortunately, they were closed (they are closed two days of the week, so be sure to check their hours!). I highly recommend stopping by Scratch Deli and Bakery. It is a must-visit spot, and we will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

All of their meats are cured in house and served on their fresh baked bread each day. They are vegetarian friendly and offer vegan and gluten free options. They also offer breakfast items like burritos. Be aware their sandwiches are loaded with ingredients and big. I could only eat half of my sandwich. I do appreciate the size though as you never know how hungry you are going to be after a long hike especially in this altitude. We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh. Their baked goods looked so inviting especially the cinnamon rolls. I will have to come back! Service was efficient and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when they are busy. It was the perfect stop before entering the park!

Easily a 5-star experience and highly recommended. We booked a 6:00 p.m. Sunday reservation through Resy and were seated immediately. The restaurant was very busy, which felt like a good sign. One thing to note: parking is VERY difficult. You may need to park kitty-corner at the grocery store lot and walk across. We started with the Beets & Bibb salad, which was outstanding--fresh, thinly sliced crunchy beets, crisp dried chickpeas for texture, grapes for sweetness, and a honey vinaigrette with just enough acidity to balance everything. The cornbread arrived warm and freshly baked with black garlic butter. It was light rather than dense and very enjoyable. For an entrée, the Carnivore was excellent. Both the elk and petite filet had a beautiful sear and were cooked perfectly to temperature, accompanied by a flavorful reduction and seared broccolini. Our second entrée was the trout with a side petite filet. The fish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. By the end of dinner we were far too full to try the desserts, although they looked tempting. We also had a couple of cocktails--strong, flavorful pours. Our server, Ian, was friendly, efficient, and attentive throughout the evening. Excellent service despite how busy the restaurant was. Overall, Bird & Jim delivered great food, great drinks, and great service. Highly recommended--5 stars.

The cocktails are always spectacular and creative. We love the trio of spreads, smoked trout, pimento cheese and hummus. Bring your wallet and be prepared for the significant price tag. That being said, i have never seen pheasant chowder on a menu or hanger steak ravioli. Give this place a try, I think you'll be glad you did.

We were fortunate enough to attend the "soft opening" for brunch today and all I can say is WOW! Prior to this John put his heart and soul into Bird & Jim (across the street) while Rob ran the top restaurant in Estes Park (Seasoned Bistro). The Bird's Nest (which operates seven days a week) will now offer brunch Thurs-Sunday. Our experience was delightful and delicious. Some of the old favorites from Seasoned are back along with some new tasty dishes. The views from the second story are as stunning as anything you will see in Estes Park. There is nothing like this in Estes Park so put it at the top of your list of things to do in Estes.

Head upstairs if you can. The second floor has big windows and the view really is nice. Everything we got was good. The baked goods are the standout and genuinely unique. Their cinnamon roll isn't the usual doughy pastry. It's made from puff pastry, so it eats more like a fried croissant. Flaky, crisp, and not a gut bomb. Get one. The biscuits and gravy were tasty and so was the burrito. Nothing to complain about on either. The bacon is a bit expensive for what it is, but oh well, you're in a tourist trap town. Everything else felt fairly priced for Estes. Would come back, especially for the pastries.

We shared the Breakfast Croissant as it was large enough to split. The staff was very friendly and eager to take our to-go order. Know that this restaurant has a great bakery selection, espresso bar, alchohol and serves many breakfast and lunch options. The inside has a rustic charm with clean restrooms for customers. There is plenty of parking and a large seating area in both the bar and the main restaurant. On our second visit we had time for a proper sit down breakfast. Edith was our server and she was delightful. We ordered coffee, cappuccino, build your own omelette, and eggs benedict. The cappuccino was perfect. Edith kept the coffe cup full and served us waters. The BYO Omelette was large and served with home fried potatoes and sourdough toast. Too much to eat! The eggs benedict was wonderful and I loved the hollandaise sauce as well as the tasty ham. It too came with home fried potatoes. If your a local, you are lucky to make this a regular eating spot. If you are a traveler, make sure you stop by and give them a try.

We had just finished hiking a couple of miles around Bear Lake at roughly 10,000 feet, so by the time we arrived around 2 PM, we were pretty exhausted and definitely hungry. I ordered the Rocky Mountain Trout & Eggs for $18.69, which came with fresh Rocky Mountain trout, two eggs any style, home-fried potatoes, and toast. I got my eggs over medium. The trout tasted fresh, but overall I found the dish pretty bland and just kind of meh. There were also quite a few bones in the fish, which made it a little annoying to eat. I'd probably give the dish itself a generous 3/5. It was definitely filling, though. Between the whole trout, two eggs, fried potatoes, and toast, it was a lot of food after the hike. Others at the table ordered the Harvest Panini with turkey, bacon, sliced apples, honey, cheddar, sourdough, and sweet potato fries, as well as what I believe was the Castle Rock Chicken Sandwich with chicken, lettuce, tomato, pesto mayo, avocado, bacon, and provolone on a brioche bun. One person didn't eat avocado, so I was the lucky winner there. I didn't really get a chance to try the other dishes beyond a few sweet potato fries because I was busy working through my own meal. We originally sat outside on the patio, but it started raining, so we moved inside. Unfortunately, once we were indoors, there were quite a few flies around us and our food, which was pretty distracting and definitely brought the experience down a bit. Overall, Notchtop did hit the spot after a tiring hike, and the food seemed fresh and hearty, but my trout dish itself was only okay and the flies inside were a noticeable negative. Apparently, the restaurant is named after Notchtop Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park, which is a pretty fitting name for a place in Estes Park. I'd still consider coming back if I were in Estes Park or visiting RMNP again, but I'd probably try something different next time. Last visited: September 25, 2026
