Trout is serving here. That all I care. I was looking for fresh trout in the area. This restaurant makes the cut. This restaurant mainly sell the BBQ dish. But they they have one seafood dish selection with local rainbow trout. We got the trout dish. It comes with all you can eat salad and soup. The salad bar is average but the soup clam chowder soup is good. The dish also comes with one side and tartar sauce. The trout is pan grilled with spice. It was delicious. Love it. We also got the local brew beer. Recommended to order the Estes Park Stinger with wild honey wheat. Very unique. First time have it.

Sasha and Carlos made the night interesting and fun. Took care of us, friendly and good conversation. Salad bar, homemade? baked potato soup, and chicken fried steak with real mashed potatoes and cream gravy were good. Gravy was a little bland but still better than the sausage gravy that infests CO. My only real complaint is the ranch is that bitter commercial buttermilk ranch. I think all the dressings are commercial but the pasta salad and potato salad seemed homemade. For those in a wheelchair, restrooms are small with limited access. I was able to park at the door but down a narrow hallway and walk in about 4 steps. Toilet was tall enough. Round door knob. Good food and great service.

Pretty good but nothing great. The restaurant seemed pretty run down and the food was again good but not great. The Bison chili was really good.

Big Horn Restaurant was fine. The service was somewhat slow but the staff was friendly. I ordered a $13 menu item and it ended up showing up on my bill for $18 but I didn't want to take the time to argue it. The food was all average at best but there are large portions - I would recommend splitting with someone. The inside gives an old diner feel and there are a few tables on the back patio as well if you want outdoor dining. There is parking which is nice as it is slightly removed from the main stretch of restaurants in Estes Park.

Ate here a month ago I got the salad bar with my meal. Salad bar was definitely not worth the money. Very limited items like super limited. I also ordered the chicken fried steak it was okay a little greasy and the gravy was bland. I was not impressed with this place. Service was okay as well. Just really meh about this place. Definitely won't come back.

Biscuits and gravy with grits and huevos rancheros.

Had to go to Estes Park for an appointment and when I was done, my boyfriend and I came here for breakfast before heading back to Denver. Our waitress, Anastasia, was so pleasant and on top of taking care of our needs. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy that came with 2 sausage patties and grits and I had the huevos rancheros. At first glance the sausage patties looked dry but they were very juicy and flavorful. The biscuits, we'll let me tell you those biscuits are to die for!!! BIG, moist and flavorful. Turns out they make them every morning! My huevos rancheros was very good as well. Eggs were cooked to the perfect over medium I requested. We sat and talked and relaxed and just enjoyed the atmosphere and the music was great! And to top off our perfect breakfast and time, my boyfriend and I were having such a good time that he decided it was THE moment to officially propose. May not have been a beautiful setting out in nature, or a fancy restaurant (which is where he proposed to me 42 years ago, high school sweethearts that have kept in touch over the years), but it was the perfect time. So Big Horn Restaurant will always be special to us!

After a full day of hiking and needing food ASAP, my friend and I found ourselves in Estes Park. The town was crowded and parking not easy but luckily we found Big Horn restaurant a little ways (but not by much) off the main drag and with its own lot. Veggie burger and fries for me, elk burger and fries for her. Service was friendly and attentive and food came out quickly. A step above diner food, my veggie burger was simple but nicely cooked and the bun well toasted. It was just what we needed after a long day in the mountains. Appears to be a mix of locals and tourists and closer to dinner time it was getting crowded. Great stop to grab a simple and quick burger after day hikes.

Staff was great. Food was good. Brisket was amazing. Chicken Parmigiana was a bit dry, but the manager was very accommodating.

When we began eating the pizza, we found nearly every piece of pepperoni still had the plastic casing on. I called just to let them know and received a text back, with no name, telling us it was the sausage casing and the sausage was some of the best tasting this unnamed person had ever had. I responded that it was specifically the pepperoni. I received a response asking if it was the thin or thick sliced. It was the thin. While we received a response thanking us for the feedback, there was no apology issued or any thought of asking us how they could correct this for us. While the pizza tasted fine, it was really inconvenient to peel a plastic type casing off each piece of pepperoni and frankly dulled our enjoyment of the meal. We kept the material in case they wanted to see it, but there was no follow-up from the unnamed person. Probably won't try this place again for a while.

Texture was a bit chewy and I'd rather just save room for pizza. Local beers. Not too loud. Fun art and cushions. Parking was at a weird angle. This is the mountain town spot to go to for sure.

When we visited on Sunday after hiking at RMNP for the morning, there wasn't much of a crowd here. We ordered and the the food only took about 8 minutes to arrive. Meeker Margherita ($21) - Perfectly cooked crust in this pizza. The cornicione in particular is expertly risen and cooked, giving plenty of charred bubbles and the perfect chewiness. The undercarriage, while floppy, isn't soggy at all. It hold up very well to the ingredients on top. The crust is first slathered sparingly with tomato sauce. The sauce is reduced quite a bit and tastes almost like a concentrated tomato paste. They don't use a lot so it doesn't soak into the crust at all. On top, there's a couple of pieces of basil giving a very noticeably fresh aroma. There's plenty of melted mozzarella cheese, which seem to be of the pearl variety, mild tasting and stretchy. They apparently also drizzle some EVOO, although there's no particular peppery or fruity notes, or heck any real olive oil flavor at all. With how well all the other ingredients worked together, the olive oil is very disappointing. Still, it's a very well constructed pizza. (5/5) Panorama Peak ($23) - Again, this pizza has the perfect crust. Instead of tomato sauce, it's slathered with ricotta cheese, making the pizza very rich and creamy. More melted mozzarella on top of that for even more fatty richness, then pieces of proscuitto, chewy and salty. The meat isn't sliced that well so it's messy to eat. They then essentially cover the pizza with an arugula, tomato, and shaved parmesan salad. The arugula is super peppery and bitter, the tomatoes are fresh and sweet, and the parmesan adds more saltiness. The main sources of salt are the parmesan and the proscuitto. Neither are added in large enough quantities to make the pie overly salty. Mixed in the with the arugula are a couple of stems of cilantro for some reason. Nothing on the menu actually uses cilantro so I'm a bit confused where it comes from. It's essentially a salad on pizza dough so everything falls off the crust very easily making it messy to eat. (4/5) I'm very impressed with the food served at Mangia Mangia. I didn't expect to find such great pizza in a small touristy mountain town. I'll be back next time I'm in the area! These sandwiches? Fuggedaboutit. Dry, flavorless, and thinner than my cousin Vinny's patience. If this is what they're calling a "hit," then it's a miss, capisce? We ordered The Uncle Tony, which comes with salami, pepperoni, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini, black olives, and oil & vinegar on a hoagie. This was, without question, the saddest sandwich I've ever had the displeasure of paying for. One flimsy slice of each meat and cheese, and the bare minimum of veggies they could legally get away with. If Uncle Tony knew his name was being slapped on this, he'd have made The Sandwich Mafia sleep with the fishes. Their Instagram? Fugazi. It's all thick stacks of meat, cheese, and toppings. But what you actually get is a sad, limp excuse for a sandwich. Check the photos I posted if you need the visual heartbreak. Do yourself a favor--save your appetite, your wallet, and your dignity. Go eat somewhere else. Heck, even Subway would've been a hundred times better... and that's saying something.
