I booked a storage unit on Saturday. Malik from CubeSmart called me around 3:00 pm asking me to…read moremake the payment before 5:00 pm, since they would be closed on Sunday and needed time to process my access code. I completed the payment before 3:05 pm the same day. Afterwards, I tried calling multiple times before 5:00 pm, but every time I reached a message saying they were out of office. On Sunday at 9:30 pm, I arrived with a U-Haul truck and could not get inside the unit. I used their video assistant, and a representative named Lisa gave me a code. She also told me the building locks at 10:00 pm for security purposes, which meant I had only 30 minutes to unload. I got inside the building, but the code did not work for the elevator. When I called back, they told me my unit might actually be in the Annex building at 300 Mill St.--even though my welcome email clearly listed 223 Mill St, Vienna, VA 22180. At the Annex building, the first thing I noticed was the urine smell and mouse traps. The old carts barely fit through the single-door entrance. When I reached my unit, there were mouse droppings inside (I have photo proof). As we were unloading our last load, the building locked at 10:00 pm, leaving half of my belongings trapped inside a rodent-infested unit with the door open. Lisa had reassured me not to rush and said I could call back to get help after 10:00 pm--but nobody answered despite my repeated calls for 20 minutes. By then, I was completely overwhelmed. This was one of the most dreadful experiences I have ever had with a company. Stay away!

Was intending to rent here. Asked on the phone about when the Internet promotional rate would end…read moreafter I rented the unit and the person explained that it's unpredictable, though generally 3-to-5 months. It was frank but pretty curt. No worries, at least not at that point. I decided that I might rent the unit but for $665 a month, with the potential to increase to over $1,000 a month, I wanted to see the unit. I arrived seven minutes before closing (because my current storage location had just experienced a flood, I was looking pretty desperately for another solution, the office is closed tomorrow, and I'm dealing with wet stuff that has to be moved right now as in, starting this evening). On arrival however I discovered that the office staff at CubeSmart had already locked the office doors, at least seven minutes before closing. They did let me in (thank you) and I explained that I'd just like to see the 20x25 unit that was advertised. The office worker said "okay" and started to take me to it. She copied down the information, I followed her out the front door, and that's when the problem started. She looked back over her shoulder and said "we don't get many people showing up 7 minutes before closing and asking for a tour but ..." and waved her hand dismissively. I didn't take the bait but then she told me to get in my car and drive to the first stop sign and make a left and meet her at the other building. I didn't follow what she was saying because I didn't know there was another building. Then she got really short, acting annoyed that I couldn't follow her directions. I explained that I wasn't there for a tour, I just wanted to see the one unit that I was about to reserve online. I explained that the reason I was there was that I'd just come from another storage location that had experienced a flood. And she started saying something argumentative again, and at that point I said "forget it, the attitude is too bad here", and walked away. No apology from her or anything, no attempt to salvage the business deal, nothing. She simply went back into the office and locked the door. For 7,000+ a year, potentially rising to over $12,000 a year, I'm not dealing with rude office staff who don't want to be inconvenienced by having to reopen the office after they've closed it early. Yes it would have inconvenienced her for five or ten minutes. Sorry, but under the circumstances I really needed the help. Instead, I'll stick with my current storage solution, I don't want to deal with these people. My place might be more expensive, but I'd rather pay the money than deal with people like this. For CubeSmart management ... I've been at my current location for 14 years, and you just lost a potential long term customer who always pays on time, and who was ready to rent your largest unit within minutes of seeing it. Hire better staff. If I could give it a zero I would. Now that I see some of the other reviews here, I feel like I dodged a bullet.

Bookstore Movers - Another year taking the top prize!

I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

A Hidden Gem for Auto Detailing - Absolutely Outstanding!…read more When I wanted to surprise my husband by having his car detailed before his return from an international business trip, I initially made an appointment with a vendor near Tysons Mall. However, everything changed when David, the owner of Intersport Car Spa & Car Storage, called me back. His genuine enthusiasm and expertise convinced me to give them a try. As he explained, their location inside a Bentley dealership specializes in luxury vehicles, which spoke volumes about their service quality. David was exceptionally accommodating and kindly offered a discount upon request. Their McLean location proved convenient and impressive. Upon arrival, I was struck by their expansive, pristine facility housing numerous luxury vehicles - a testament to their reputation. The check-in process was remarkably efficient, with Manny and Abel providing warm, professional service. They immediately sent the invoice and contract via email, and just two hours later, Manny called to announce the car was ready. The results were stunning. My car emerged looking showroom-new (aside from my own decorations, aka dents/dings)! Abel's attention to detail on the interior was particularly impressive. Despite the pretty embarrassing condition the car was in- accumulated dust, dirt, water marks, spills, and pet hair - the transformation was complete. The car hadn't looked this pristine since purchase. I'm so glad I have them a try. The entire experience exceeded expectations - zero wait time, trustworthy staff, and flawless execution. I've already recommended their services to my sister and brother-in-law, and I'm eager to share this find with other friends in the area. You can trust a company and the people that service luxury cars -- even if your car might not a "luxury car" it deserves a luxurious treatment!

What I got back was disappointing and unacceptable for any vehicle--let alone a Ferrari. The paint, which had no defects prior, now has visible swirl marks. There were water spots all over the car, a mark across the dash that wasn't there before, and the rubber gaskets around the doors--which were black--came back white. I have no idea what chemical was used on them. To top it off, the windshield still showed the outline of the wipers after they claimed to have cleaned the glass. This experience fell far short of any professional detailing standard. If you care about your car, you're likely better off going to Flagship or another reputable service that understands proper care--especially for high-end vehicles.

We made the reservation and showed up with very low expectations. It was a busy Friday afternoon. And we had a great experience from start to finish. The lady working the front desk was very nice and did a good job juggling 3 different customers who all got there about the same time. They ask you to check in using a QR code and your phone. It took a few minutes to complete- like any new automated process the first time you use it. Which explains why the lady was juggling 3 customers at the same time. She did a good job juggling to help all 3 of us and get us in our vehicles. Our van was clean and in good condition. The return was efficient. Because I wanted a receipt before leaving, I ended up dealing with two other employees. Both were pleasant and helpful. Did the QR code routine again to check out and get a receipt. This involved entering the odometer miles, the gas tank level, and taking I lost count but I think it was 6 pictures of the vehicle. Took a few minutes. But the peace of mind in having a final receipt was worth it. Just wanted to share a recent, positive experience.
