Something happened at McGover Service in Leominster for the worse. I call and visit them and no one can tell me if the check engins light diagnostics have been performed on my car. Since December 26, 2025. I understand being short staffed and the closings surrounding Christmas and New Year holidays but today is January 4, 2026 and no one at McGovern can even tell me if the diagnostic test have been done in nine days? read more

I arrive at my 10am appt. 4 hours later I went to check what was going on. The auto mechanic put my vehicle to the side and was working on another car!!!. Like I have all the time in the world. I was fortunate to discover a used 20-year old Toyota Tundra in mint condition for sale at McGovern Hyundai in Leominster. I received a thoughtful and accurate assessment of the vehicle. It is in top shape, with a mere 87,000 miles, well taken care of my it's only owner. This was confirmed by a vehicle review that I subsequently commissioned Toyota to complete. McGovern was a pleasure to work with. The only issues were promptly corrected by the service department, and their GM, Nidial. My salesman was Johnny C. , like myself a no BS older guy, with a big heart. Although I am not in the market for a new car, I was very impressed by the Hyundai models. Nidial claims that Hyundai vehicles are quickly approaching that of Toyota. Be appraised that the dealership is underwing a major expansion, with construction apparent. The staff is undeterred with positivity and a can-do attitude, despite, what are at times, challenging conditions. Highly recommended. read more

McGovern acquired route 2 Hyundai. We bought our Genesis from original Route 2 Hyundai. They were great in the sale and service. Since McGovern took over the service is significantly lacking. Today we arrived for SCHEDULED recall service to find out the part was not available and we could come back next week. Service cares very little about the impact of you taking time off from your work. In their mind you can take off another 1/2 day no problem. Note the service team even had texted us multiple times to make sure we arrived at the scheduled time so we did not impact their schedule. This has not been the first failure of their service department. read more

My grandson recently brought his Sonata in to have the engine replaced under warranty. He got a call the next day telling him that after the replacement, they took it for a test drive, and the engine went on fire destroying the car. He did get money from his insurance, and the dealership did help him get a better settlement from Geico, but that is where the goodwill stopped. There were a number of angry, contentious emails back and forth between him and the GM of McGovern. He was told that technically and legally McGovern didn't have to do anything to make him whole again. This, in spite of the fact that he was still going to be out thousands when you factor in added expenses of buying another car. The best that McGovern would do is to say that if he bought another car from them, they would give him $1,000 off. That is all. This was not in any way a show of goodwill. Anybody off the street can get $1,000 off if they know anything about markups for cars. My last 4 cars have been Hyundais, and I have got more than $1,000 off on all of them. But none were from McGovern and never will be. The GM tried to tell me that the fire may have been caused by an old, cracked hose. Never in all the discussions did he ever apologize for the fire, which was obviously caused by something they did or not do. Placing the blame on us is cowardly, devious and a poor way to treat a customer whose car you just destroyed. He has denied any responsibility or liability every step of the way. He surely doesn't understand that there is a huge difference between what is legal and what is fair. He has remained hidden behind legalese instead of fairness. My advice, avoid this place like the plague. They are extremely ethically challenged and technically incompetent. As Mike Dukakis once said, "A fish rots from the head". If this is true, one can only imagine how deep the rot runs through this place. In an effort to be transparent I want to mention one thing. In the past 8 years I have bought an Elantra, a Sonata, a Santa Fe and a Santa Cruz. All but the Sonata were bought from McGovern in Wilmington, Mass. I have found them to be 100% honest, upright, and straight forward. I have never bought a car from McGovern Rt 2 and never will. I would strongly suggest that nobody does business with them. They are none of the things I give the Wilmington location credit for. I feel dirty and violated just having done business with them in aid of my grandson. read more

I drove over an hour to get here for an appointment at noon. At 12:20 the rep tells me the car won't start. The car wasn't ready at noon. The rep didn't know where it was in that it wasn't gonna be ready. The person I spoke to on Saturday didn't know it wasn't gonna be ready. The dealership staff, starting with my salesperson Fernando (who i highly recommend anyone thinking about buying a Hyundai should talk to) who was super friendly, understanding, great sales approach, and awesome customer service. Then there is the sales Manager, Matt, who was very responsive to emails and really stepped up to give me a great deal on my purchase and my trade-in. I have purchased 4 Hyundai cars from Rt 2 Hyundai. I kept coming back because of the outstanding customer service. McGovern recently acquired route 2 Hyundai. Customer service has not been the same since. It is now standard policy if you bring a car in for a WARRENTY issue and they find it is not covered under WARRENTY the customer is charge a 140 dollar diagnostic fee. Buyer be ware! In addition, customers are talked down to by the female customer service representative. If you must go here make sure to avoid her and go see Iffie. read more

Rte 2 Hyundai was run so much better than McGovern who just recently purchased the franchise that is located in the old MCM furniture building. We purchased 4 brand new Hyundais from this location as recently as 2019. We never had issues getting work done until the new ownership. Couldn't even get an oil change , Or warranty work done. Service department does not return phone calls. Some of the same sales men are there which is nice, that's the reason for 3 stars. I would still buy a car from one of these sales men because I like the product. I am not a fan of the service. Not a huge fan of MCGovern. Yet read more

I purchased a used vehicle and days later discovered it had coolant and power steering leaks. I live 2 hours away so had it repaired during required state safety inspection. Wrote to them explaining what happened and they reimbursed the cost of repairs. I would definitely buy from them again. read more

I'll start by saying I have purchased 13 Hyundai's in the past. 3 of them are from Hyundai Mcgovern Rt2. I was very happy with the salesman for the last 2 cars. I had an issue come up that got escalated to the general manager Andy. The salesperson and the sales manager all said they could help me. Then when I didn't get a reply, I found out the sales manager I had been speaking to (Jose)_ was out so Brian another sales manager referred me to Andy. Then everything went south. He was rude unprofessional and said he didn't care what I was told by the sales managers before that he was the general manager and wouldn't help me. I brought the same problem to McGovern in Brockton and a sales manager there gave me the information I needed was very helpful and had the problem solved in a few minutes. I will not be buying any more cars from this dealership. I called the VP of sales Zack and emailed him with no response. read more

Used car had a transmission failure. Had to wait about two weeks for an appointment, but once it got in- they moved it really quickly, within three days they had gotten warranty figured out and fixed the entire transmission. Props to McGovern for being very communicative and helpful through the process, and moving so quickly to get it repaired right before Christmas, despite being backed up on appointments. read more

I had some unfortunate situations with car dealerships after my car was totaled four months ago. In this car economy, I had salesmen yelling, inflating the price of the car much higher than represented on their websites, and basically telling me I would never find anything better. After one of these incidences, I went into McGovern Hyundai on Route 2 in Leominster. Dan helped me immensely; he helped me get the car I was looking for at a great price, and even was able to match/beat my bank's interest rate for an auto loan. Throughout the process, he was honest, empathetic to my prior experiences, and did everything he could do to help. My sales associate was very helpful, however the "deal" I was offered was $5000 over (yes over) the sticker price. Service after the sale has been absolutely atrocious. They will not let you wait for an oil change unless you bring the car in before 2 p.m. When I tried to schedule on a weekend, they gave me a date a month away. When the car was recalled due to "unintended acceleration", and I experienced that exact issue so severely that the car was undrivable, I was told they were scheduling 6 weeks in the future. I asked what I was supposed to do in the meantime, and was told to :call another dealership". Long story short, 7 weeks and $2100 in car rental fees later I went in and demanded they resolve the issue. Incredibly, I was told by the service manager that the recall was "not a big deal", that what I experienced was not a result of the recall issue, and that if the car had been towed in they would have repaired it right away! When I asked who was going to pay the $2100, he assured me that they would not be paying it. He also stated they do not give loaner cars or reimburse rental fees. I subsequently sent an email to the general manager detailing all my experiences and my dissatisfaction, and did not receive a reply. Disgraceful, in my opinion! read more
