I was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. A remanufactured engine was installed as well as many other required parts. The final bill came to just over $19,000.00. I picked the car up Saturday June 21, 2025, I drove it 22 miles and noticed the engine light came on. I brought it right back to the dealership that same Saturday I picked it up. I Informed Julie that the engine light was on again. I heard nothing Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I decided to stop in to inquire on the engine light. At that time I was told when they attempted to start my car Tuesday morning, the engine started to make noise and the connecting rod smashed through the oil pan. I was then informed by the service department that it may not be covered under warranty because of after market parts that were used from my old engine, more specifically, the coil packs and cold air intake. That is a poor excuse to try to worm out of a warranty, coil packs and air breathers have zero connection to crankshaft failure and furthermore, if those parts were questionable with regard to a warranty, why did the mechanic install them in the first place. It goes without saying that if my car is not repaired to the condition for which I have already paid for, I will as certain as the sun will rise be contacting an attorney that deals with car dealerships specifically who rip off and defraud their customers. Said okay, we can't agree on a price, but if you have any sales in the future, like Ford has employee pricing, let me know. He was very offended and said, "We don't bribe people to buy our cars." Sales are common in all industries. The next day he called me to say, "You know, the car comes with a full tank of gas." Every car comes with a full tank of gas. It looked OK, about 129k miles then (has about 136k now, I drive short distances). It needed brakes and shocks which were replaced before I picked it up. After acquiring it I brought it to my regular repair garage [Phil's, Fitchburg, MA(Mark)] to investigate the severe whine I felt on the highway, it was due to a failing rear end (all gears in the hub were worn and needed to be replaced/rebuilt). Second, the oil drip/driveway leakage was due to a porous oil pan (this model requires the engine mounts disconnected and the engine/transmission jacked up for the oil pan to clean the frame cross members to remove it. Other issues were discovered and still exist to this day such as electrical wiring issues, tire pressure and Anti-Lock brake sensors, constant Check-Engine, etc. I will soon sell off this vehicle and locate something either from a large professional dealer or a decent private purchase. Do your own research, check all applications (Yelp, Google, etc) for the ratings of this business to determine if your time and money are worth it. For history: This address (Main building and the parking lot across River Street) were once owned by the respected DUFOURS GARAGE. After the properties of 356 & 369 River Street (sold in 2021 to G & L Jreige Realty LLC) it became River Street Autos, later the business name changed to J & G Autos (Same LLC per Worcester County Register of Deeds).
