My boyfriend and I came here to buy a used Honda but we ended up with a brand new 2017 Honda! We walked through the showroom, not greeted by any employee in the showroom at all and found, sales consultant, Darly on 9/30/17. We told him what we were looking for a 2010 Honda that was on their site and we went to the lot to find it. To our luck, someone else was currently on a test drive but no sales have been made on it. We browsed then went back inside, he gathered more information of what we were looking for. We weren't putting anything for a down payment and he gave us our options. Before we knew it, we were signing our forms for our brand new 2017 Honda. The rating is for the process and face of the sales floor. Things that could use improvements are communication with the customer about their vehicle and give all the information pertaining to the vehicle. One thing Darly did not offer was to test drive the "many" 2017 Hondas they had, secondly, we weren't able to drive off with our new vehicle until the following Monday since their state check machine was down (& apparently statewide after the new machines were installed). We weren't told this until we were done signing the forms, if we knew that, we would have taken our business elsewhere. Of course, we received the prefilled "I'm here for you and your vehicle" e-mail crap after the sale from Darly; clearly false since we called and sent an email but he failed to return either and ghosted after the sale. I mean, it makes sense since he already had the commission from our purchase. We literally had to find a shop that had their state check machine up and running ourselves. I've called their business multiple times asking if theirs was up and was told no, I then asked where are they referring their customers and they (service dept.) said to google and call up shops (whaaat). I would get it if it's a used car but this was a brand new vehicle and their responsibility to have it done prior it leaving the lot. I called and asked for the sales manager, spoke with Joe. Voiced my frustration and concerns of their process of handling such an issue. He was very rude and obnoxiously annoying at the fact he said I didn't need to take a day off from work to get it checked; as if he knew what my occupation is and my schedule is like. If I got pulled over and a ticket after the 7 days- they wouldn't give 2 cents towards that ticket so of course they weren't concerned. He said they'd reimburse the $35 for the state check (&currently still waiting for that check in the mail) and would be able to get free car washes from them- NO THANKS to the car washes. ANYWAY. They're so disorganized and unresponsive to their customers, of course they're very helpful during the sale, but after they have taken your money--they don't need nothing else from you since it's already pocketed. It's almost 30 days of having our car and we have yet received any billing statements for our car. I called their office throughout the month about our account, was told I should receive one by 10/25. Called back today, spoke with Rocky in the finance department-- not helpful, completely oblivious to the conversation, said they don't have my account information (which is absurd since it was bought through them). He gave me an 800 number and it's automated to just make a payment. Called back, spoke with Joe again, the manager-- he too said the 800 is who I'd call and speak with someone. I honestly do not know how they work there if they are incompetent of what they can and cannot do/for a customer. ** SHOUT OUT TO OSCAR ** the only employee there that seems to know what the hell he's doing! He provided me with the steps of stepping up my account online AND provided me with my account number that, the finance guy Rocky miraculously did not have as well as Joe the manager. 5/5 customer service skills for him, he knew the information and supplied it with superb knowledge of what he was talking about. Oscar for manager, haha! After all the obstacles and run around we had to go through, I definitely wouldn't recommend this car dealership to anyone unless they're speaking/working with Oscar. Response to Sam: Our vehicle was purchased on the 30th of September. If the new state inspection rolled out on the 1st of October, they should had informed us it wasn't up and running-- but commission always beats upfront and honesty with the customer. I had only stated Rocky was the in finance dept since the receptionist had forwarded me to him after I asked for the finance department. I even asked Rocky if it was the finance department and he said yes. So falsely impersonating another occupation? Sounds like a fishy, bad representation of Honda Cars of Boston. If the receptionist only did her job correctly of transferring it to the actual finance department, this would all have been avoided. This place is so horrendous I needed to leave another review. DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. All car dealerships are dishonest but this place is the WORST. Very deceiving and not helpful in any way once you're done purchasing the vehicle. Bought a vehicle at McGovern Honda in February and started noticing thousand dollar problems months later. Haven't owned this vehicle 1 whole year yet and broke down THREE different times. They have done nothing to help me except tell me to go to a Hyundai dealership because there's nothing they can do at Honda, where I purchased the vehicle. After my second break down they told me to always get towed to where I bought it..... but they can't help me..... Don't get me started on how long you'll have to wait for a service appointment. Did they tell me about the numerous recalls Hyundai has right now on their engines prior to my purchase? NO. THEY ARE DESPICABLE. DO NOT GO HERE. After my second break down I went back to McGovern Honda trying to trade in this terrible vehicle and the manager had his "best" employee help me out. I was told he would be in touch with me when he found the right vehicle for me. I followed up with him twice and he insisted he would find me another vehicle. Months later, NOTHING. You're not their problem anymore after you give them your money. While waiting for my car she approached me informed me that I needed a radiator replacement and a v-tech oil pressure switch charge. After getting two other shops to look at my car, nothing that was stated to me at the dealership turned out to be true. This happened on 5/24/21 today is 8/2/21 and I have yet to have any leaks from my radiator. Be very careful when dealing with these guys. read more

Had a really bad experience here when I came during Memorial Day weekend to buy the Honda HRV. Before going in, my husband already obtained a very good quote via email so that we didn't have to haggle in-store. When we got to the store, the person that we corresponded with and made an appointment with wasn't even there. Another sales person attended to our needs. The sales person was pretty friendly at the start, he explained the features, took us in a test drive and assured us about getting a decent rate for the auto loan. We were expecting to be able to drive the car off the same day, but we were told that we couldn't. So we decided not to close the deal and come back the next day. The moment we said that we were gonna leave, the sales person's expression changed. He then said his manager said that once we walk out the doors, they would not stand by the quote that was given to us. Then he started saying that there was only one white car left and that they cannot keep it for us. This wasn't even the worse part. 10 minutes later, his manager came out to talk to "talk" to us, or more like shout at us. He raised his voice from the moment he introduced himself, he he was talking at such a loud volume that our friend at the waiting area heard all the shouting. He tried to intimidate us with his strong stance, again repeating that he cannot give us the same price once we walk out the door. He claimed that the sales person quoted us the wrong price, 600 dollars lower than was allowed. Not allowing ourselves to be threatened, we left the place. And we got the same price at another dealership!! read more

We purchased a new Honda Odyssey in 2020. The salesman, Richard Fonzi, was helpful but then we took possession of the car and right of the bat, there was a problem. The sliding doors wouldn't open properly. We found out that the part used for that purpose was missing. I contacted Richard and he transferred us over to his manager. The dealer installed the missing part but when I spoke to the supervisor and told him I was concerned about additional unknown missing parts, he said that he couldn't do anything about that and he would give us free oil change for a year. That's nice but doesn't help me because I don't know what else is missing from what is supposed to be a brand new car! And why would I take the car to be serviced at a dealership that obviously does not care if my car may be missing other parts?!!! We purchased the minivan new because we relied on the dealership to give us a safe fully functioning car. That was not what we received. We received a car with a missing part and may not know what else is missing or what may go wrong. When reaching out to the dealership, they provided an inadequate improper response. They should have paid for a independent diagnostics of the car and made sure it was fully functional, and that no crucial safety feature was missing. They did not do that. They brushed it off hoping that something terrible does not happen. When you buy a car from this dealership, in my opinion you are rolling the dice. read more

Please whatever you do, do not go here. I bought a 2014 used Accord last year and and am having all types of problems with it. The after less than 2 years I got the wheel bearing replaced, new brakes, the battery replaced, as well as now my starter is bad and need to get that replaced. Called the dealership to see if they can try to solve this because this is ridiculous for a three year old car. They proceeded to tell me that the car wasn't Honda certified, which was not made apparently to me when I bought it. I thought that it if was buying from a reputable dealer that all the cars were certified from Honda. The salesperson neglected to tell me this and now I know why. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Also every time I call you schedule an appointment I have to wait the next day or two to get it. I have to go to another dealership that always takes me the same day. The people there, or at least whoever I talked to do not know their stuff. They told me my car wasn't under warranty when it was and almost made me pay for a repair that was under warranty, luckily I looked it up myself and told them. Bottom line be very careful of the used cars to buy here and make sure to know that it's certified because they will not bother to tell you if you don't ask. read more

Car Purchased: 2016 Honda Civic EX-L We have had our car for a few days and so far so good! :) Our sales representative was Donald and what we appreciated about him most was his honesty throughout the process. As I am looking at reviews, the largest complaint about this car dealer is the "lack of salesmanship" or "poor service." But it is almost that very feature that made us like Honda Cars of Boston Sales. My husband and I were sick and tired of sales reps "faking enthusiasm" to get us to buy a car. No. I would much rather have someone who was genuine in how they treated us, and Donald did just that. Just last week I angrily stomped out of a Lexus dealership because the sales rep was too busy trying to be nice to us and not answering our questions regarding the specific pricing of the car. I remember distinctly after choosing our car, Donald went through a manual and pointed out features that weren't worth getting and ones that were worth considering. We were impressed by his lack of using classic sales coercion to get us to upgrade our car. That was really unique and made me trust him more. After purchasing our car, Donald showed us how to use the vehicle and get the bluetooth set up. He was very supportive and honestly if it weren't for him, we may not have purchased the car from here! Honda Cars of Boston Sales by far also offered the most competitive price relative to all the the other Hondas in greater MA. We didn't even bother negotiating with them which may be why we did have a negative experience. Overall if you are looking for a dealership that focuses on coercive salesmanship, this place is not for you. This place has the worst costumer service, they don't know what they are doing. They make you wait for 3 hours and don't give you any info of when your car is ready they expect you to ask 5xs before they do something about it. They expect you to get your own car when it's ready can't even bring it to the front. Unbelievable this place is trash. They don't update you with any info on your car or the services it needs. You go buy a car there to expect great service but no you get the worst attitude when you are a customers it's really unbelievable! I don't want to give it any stars that's how horrible it is. If I were to review the sales, I'd give 5 stars but the service is brutal. I bought my car a year ago from Giovanni. He was a absolutely wonderful. He was very knowledgable, honest and wasn't your typical car salesman. I had gotten the run around at Honda Herb Chambers and Burlington so working with Giovanni was breath of fresh air. That being said, I would not recommend coming here for service. This is the third time that I've been to the service department and each time I've had to wait over 3 hours. In the past, I had tires repaired which I understand takes time, especially when insurance is involved. However, today I came in for an oil change and inspection. I made an appointment online, which doesn't matter since it is apparently first come, first served. I dropped my car off at 8:15. I was told that these were quite and easy things and that was informed that there was a recall. The recall would take another hour. I decided that I would just get it done. I chose to leave instead of wait. I just needed my car by 2. After 5 hours and not hearing anything, I called to check on the progress. After being djsconnected 3 times, I finally got through to service and was told that they hadn't started the recall work yet. The guy I spoke to said he would put a bug in their ear and let them know to hurry. After 6 hours my car was ready. On the bright side, the women in the cashier section were lovely. Long story short, if you don't have an entire day to waste, go somewhere else. read more

This will actually be a remarkably laconic review. I began my hunt for a 2017 Honda at this Everett Branch on Saturday, September 9, 2017. I'd decided to visit a total of six (6) dealerships in search of a decent Honda and, basically, the dealership that gave me the best price would win my money. Simple, right? Well.... the Everett Honda blew themselves out of the water in record time (27 minutes to be exact), because from the time I arrived until the time I left, not ONE Honda employee asked me if I needed help and most of them barely even glanced in my direction. After the first ten minutes, I started opening car doors and looking inside. After the twentieth minute, I was sitting inside various cars to see how they felt. I swear I could have taken a nap in a Honda CR-V and nobody would have batted an eye. I wasn't even mad; just surprised as hell. Seemingly, they have no need for new sales and no desire to sell any of their cars, so I happily walked out the door of the Everett branch, continued onward, and wound up buying a new 2017 Honda from 1186 Comm. After walking from other dealerships because my desired payment was not met, I decided to check out Honda Cars Of Boston because it is the most convenient Honda dealer to my home. Not quite sure if I was going to look or renew I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to leave that day in a brand new HRV. The sales Person Ataan Kurgun was very helpful the day of the sale. He continued to follow up with me until everything was finalized. Now almost a month later, I am very pleased to say that he still responds very efficiently to any email of message I may leave for him. $135 TO REPLACE 3 WIPER BLADES. Enough to start!! What else is inflated? 5 hours and $1800 later, lousy cell service inside the building, poor communication with my salesman as a result. At my 75K service, less than $100. This visit, 80K service a host of problems were detected!! while recognizing this is an 11 year old car, did all this work become necessary after only 5K? What did they neglect to find on the earlier visit? I complained about these things when they offered me a feedback request. While dealing with a remote customer "service" person, i was condescended to and was told a manager would call me. Never happened! Stay away from this "service" department!! read more

Great b/c when I went to Woburn Toyota, I stood there awkwardly as everyone inside was on their phones, talking to other people, etc. David was our sales rep. We told him that we saw a car online and if he can work with us to meet our goal of paying X dollars. The car had been on the lot for only 6 days so that definitely didn't work in my favor, and of course, he came back and said that the e-price that I saw is the final price. I wasn't originally planning to buy a Honda. Last two cars were Toyota hybrids, and my wife and I had been pretty happy with them. But now I wanted a compact SUV to haul more around and handle certain Boston winter conditions better, and it turned out that the RAV4 hybrid had a leather-wrapped steering wheel, which was a non-starter (we try to avoid purchasing any animal-derived products to the greatest extent possible). We were looking to spend close to $25k, or not too much more, which eliminated the other hybrid CSUVs. In the non-hybrid CSUV category, the Mazda CX-5 was definitely fun to drive, but the release of the 2017 Honda CR-V (with its leather-free EX trim) turned my head and changed the game. I've never thought the CR-Vs were much to look at, but that has definitely changed. When I put those vehicles together side-by-side on a spreadsheet, comparing all the various features, the CR-V came out far ahead, and it ended up being not that much more expensive than what I imagine I would have paid for the base (Sport) CX-5, in large part thanks to Honda Cars of Boston. I submitted a query through USAA's car buying service, which also garnered me a discounted interested rate on the loan, since I purchased through one of the three dealerships they sent my query to. Honda Cars of Boston was immediately the best offer and the easiest, not to mention the most straightforward to email with, though the communication was a bit off, at first. Seems like more than one person responded. Not a big deal. Especially when I got that "Here's the lowest price you can find, so come on down and buy it today" kind of pricing. As it turns out, I needed to wait 2-3 weeks or so before actually buying, but then the internet department replied with an even better price than the first time, which other dealerships could only match. Given their promptness and the availability of the exact car I wanted, as well as their straightforwardness, I went with Honda Cars of Boston. It felt almost like buying a car via email, because even though no money changed hands until I got there, I was shown the car I wanted, walked into the financing office, and in very short order, I had the paperwork for a deal that was exactly as had been offered by email, no surprise charges or upcharges, no arm-twisting, etc. They didn't even try to sell all the usual packages that get trotted out at this stage of the process. I signed a deal that was exactly what was offered to me when the sales guy undercut his original offer, and no more. I was really, really impressed by that. Now, even so, this process still takes some time. We were in the dealership about 80 minutes, and I couldn't take the car that day due to it being a Sunday and the insurance and RMV all had to be taken care of, but it actually felt good to walk out of the dealership that day. I was looking forward to taking delivery of the car. I didn't feel at all like I'd been through the ringer, the way my wife and I did when we leased our last car from Herb Chambers Toyota Scion of Boston in Allston. Now, I will say that my original impression upon entering the dealership wasn't great, because the salesperson who was going to get us started disappeared to take a personal call and did not come back until after I asked a manager to find us someone else to work with us, but once we were back with him, he focused on us, was friendly and didn't waste any time getting us going in the system. He was also pretty good about follow-up after the initial sale. I do wish this dealership offered the real HondaCare (or that Honda would just sell it directly), so that we could have gotten the 8-year extended warranty recommended by a friend who is a long-time CR-V owner, but they only had plans under which you would have to find a shop that accepts that plan, which could have been limiting. I wanted to be able to go to Prime Honda for service, because said friend has been getting his CR-V serviced there for years and raves about it. My experience with Prime Honda regarding HondaCare was terrible, and a review about that experience is forthcoming (see Prime Honda review for that story). Regardless, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Honda Cars of Boston this way again, especially if Honda gets its act together and offers the CR-V as a hybrid that gets 35 MPG (combines). Hint, hint, Honda! FWIW, Average Fuel (economy) is currently showing 26.8 MPG as my wife drives us down the interstate, mostly city miles, though. We topped out at just over 28 MPG at one point before I'd driven so much for my job. Our Camry hybrid average continues to be somewhere around 44 MPG, and our Prius c was usually around 53 MPG. So, while I am 95% happy with the Honda in every other respect (the various interfaces leave much desired), and the mileage is best-in-class, it's still my least favorite part about owning an SUV now. This place is untrustworthy. I visited their service department because my SRS light came on. They told me it was a problem with my seatbelt switch, and told me it was gonna be $250~ to repair. Honda has a lifetime seatbelt warranty so I asked them to confirm that it wasn't covered. The service advisor insisted that it wasn't, and told me that I should tell them ASAP whether I wanted to go ahead with the repairs because it was gonna take a week to order the parts/etc. I took my car to another dealership for a second opinion and guess what? The repair was free and done under warranty. AVOID this place and bring your business somewhere else! read more

This review pertains to recent experiences at the service department at this dealership. I bought a Civic Hybrid here at the end of 2003. Since a lot of mechanics didn't know how to deal with hybrids back then and since this dealership has a convenient shuttle to the T, I always brought my car back here for service. Up until recently, I never had a problem and never felt like I was being misled or receiving poor service. Just before Christmas of 2009 I brought my car here for regular maintenance. After taking a look at the car, they recommended that I replace the battery. Being that the car was 6 years old and winter was just beginning, I agreed. As I was leaving with my car, I noticed that the SRS light was on, which hadn't been the case when I brought the car in. The guy at the desk (Justin) expressed surprise and had someone check to see why it was on. He said that it was showing a code for the passenger side seat belt tensioner. He said that it wasn't necessarily going to fail and that they didn't have the part in stock. Since it was just before the holidays, I didn't have time to deal with it then (or the desire to spend that much money). He gave me his card and said to call him when I was ready to have it fixed and he'd make sure the part was in stock. After the holidays I called his number 3 or 4 times. Each time I left a message on his voicemail. I never received a call back. I still haven't gotten around to getting that issue fixed. In May I brought the car in again and mentioned a slight rattling noise that I'd noticed. I was told they tightened a heat shield and the problem should be fixed. On my way out of the dealership I could hear that the noise was still happening. But again I was in a hurry and didn't bother dealing with it. In July I started hearing an intermittent whirring/growling noise from the car. I took it in again and explained the problem. Justin told me that if they couldn't reproduce the noise, they wouldn't be able to fix it. I said I understood and left the car there. A few hours later they called to say that the noise was a CVT judder problem that was covered under an extended warranty and that they would fix that. They also said I needed new brakes and to fix a problem with the shifter. I agreed and did not hear the sound again after picking the car up. The following weekend my husband and I drove the car 200 miles to upstate New York. Just as we arrived at our destination, the car started making the noise again. The next day it was even worse, so we brought it to a Honda dealership in Schenectady. There we were told the problem was in the AC compressor and that it would need to be replaced. They didn't have the part in stock and said it was on a 3-week national backorder, but they gave us a print-out of the diagnosis and part number and said to have my regular dealership order it. They also told me that the CVT judder problem did not involve the car making a noise. They said there was no way that what they fixed could have fit the symptoms I described. So either HCoB doesn't know what they're talking about or they told me the car was fixed knowing that there was no way it could have been. At least the repair was free. When we returned to Boston, having driven 4 hours in the middle of summer with the AC off, I called HCoB and explained the situation. I was told I'd have to bring the car in to have it checked out first. I said I'd rather not, since it takes about an hour to drive there. The guy said "But what if it's not the problem?" and I said that they'd had an opportunity to diagnose it and hadn't, and I trusted the diagnosis from the other dealership. He said "Fine, I'll transfer you to the parts department and you'll have to pre-pay for it." At that point I hung up and found a local mechanic who was able to get the part and fix it within two days. When I received the usual email after my HCoB appointment asking how my experience was, I indicated that I was dissatisfied. The website said I would receive a call from a service manager but I never did. At this point, I'm done bringing my car here for service. read more

I had previously shopped around & knew what I Could afford & went to another Honda dealer (Cambridge) and they were out... so I was forced to go here & of course I get the Pushy Salesman as soon as I walk in the door routine... I bargained for hours & wasnt at a spot that I could afford, but my stupidiy and anxiousness to have a new car. I settled & then began the drama... They messed up all my paperwork so to this day my loan & everything is all wrong... I am paying for a car that I do love, but hate that I got suckered into... Have never been back but once when I was offered a free oil change... Cant wait to pay down what I have now some more & get out... Will stay with Honda, but will travel the several miles further to go to another dealer... read more

Would give it zero stars if I could! Since 1986, my family and I bought so many cars from this company and 2009 will be the last! Long story short: My first car was a leased 2002 Civic which I had for 5 years. I was told by the salesman to bring it back a few months before the lease is up to re-lease a new car. He also stated that if I did so, he would waiver any fees (over mileage). He kept his word and so I re-leased a 2006 Accord NO PROBLEM. I did not have to pay a cent! The lease for the 2006 Accord was about to be up, so I brought it back early to re-lease another new car. Salesman said he would waiver all the fees just as long as I bought/leased with them again. I ended up getting this new salesman for my third lease signing who told me that I would not have to pay for any of the fees. But when it came time for him to actually fill out the contract, he forgot to check off the box "TRADE IN." What does this mean for me? I now owe the Honda Trust Company 5K! (mileage, minor damages, pay off price, and other lease fees) I was furious! Now I got to pay for a car I do not even own anymore! If I knew this was going to happen, I would have kept the frigging thing! I contacted the young salesman, his price negotiator, AND Giaccino! No one could help because the car "was already sent back to the manufacturer." I understand, I was at fault for not picking up on the error in the contract, but they could not/would not help me in ANY way! Giaccino was so rude, he even kicked out my dad and I which caused a huge embarrassing scene. I vow to never do business with them again, and neither should you! Don't bother with this Honda dealership... I received a recall notice for my passenger side airbag, I called earlier in the week to give them all the info they needed such as my VIN number and the date I would be coming in. I thought as was well as I called twice, but that wasn't the case. Well, when I arrive they hadn't ordered the part since they had me in for an oil change! WTH, I drove an hour in traffic which was unnecessary and they did nothing to get me to come back there. Instead they said I could go to the Honda in Lawrence.... So that is what I am doing going to Honda Commonwealth and hopefully I'll have a better experience. I contacted this dealership for an online quote on a Honda Pilot. In the end I decided to go with someone else and asked them to stop emailing me. That was a handful of emails ago. Now they're emailing me asking how my Honda Civic that I bought is doing. I understand that this is mostly an automated system but the system is jacked up. I didn't buy a Civic so I don't want to bring this imaginary Civic in for service. This awesome system also doesn't seem to have the unsubscribe request feature turned on. I was blatantly lied to. I recently brought my car in to get my B1 service. When I brought it in the man at the desk told me that my mileage was high and I should get a D service. I have 36000 miles. When I asked him why my light wouldn't say D and instead said B, he notified me sometimes when you buy a used car from a Honda dealership, they reset the computer and that can throw the intervals off. Trusting that he was being honest, I went ahead with it. I was later told that there is no C or D light in my car, something a service rep would most likely be aware of. When I went back in to get my car, I noticed on the service list, that the columns that visually indicate how much more you are getting with a D service are also BS. The D service column has slightly larger text size and spacing, so it looks like you're getting twice as much done to your car, when in reality the only difference is that they are swapping fluids. I live right by here, so I really wish I would feel comfortable going back, but the service staff lied to me, so I'm not really sure what to think. I thought perhaps a mistake was made but after seeing the trickery in the service list, I will consider taking my car elsewhere next time. I thought you should be able to trust a dealership for the most part. I think I was naive. I'm sure they did the service I paid for, but I'm upset about being deceived. If the staff had simply explained to me that it was their recommended service rather than lied to me about how the C and D light were "reset" and would "come on," I would've done it anyway. read more

I am giving this place 2 stars ONLY because of the out of this world customer service I received from Eric Marcello the first three years I went to this place. When I moved to Boston 4 years, I started coming here for service because my car was brand new, and I didn't know where else to take it. I met Eric, who took care of me, almost every time I came in. He delivered SUPERIOR customer service. Made sure everything on my car was inspected each time I brought it in for an oil change, and whenever there were issues, he would talk me through them and explain them to me. He took the time to discuss finances with me... what was a necessity and what could wait a bit longer. I never doubted the service I received. Over the last 6 months, Eric seems to no longer be there. I believe he has left. And I can tell you, I have been BEYOND disappointed with the service I have received without him. I bring my car in for an oil change. They change the oil... nothing else. They might top off the fluids, but if I want them to check my brakes, make sure everything is working right, I have to ask them. A standard inspection is STANDARD with an oil change (at least for the last 14 years I've been getting oil changes), but Honda doesn't do one anymore apparently. There is no more, hello how are you, no more nice to see, no anything but taking my keys, dropping in some new oil and sending me on my way. If I wanted this kind of service, I'd pay $10 at jiffy lube. Honda Cars of Boston, I am done with you. And to Eric, wherever you are... you are definitely missed. First off, I'm reviewing their service dept, not sales so I cannot comment on the other review, however I will say that the salespeople were less than impressive when they approached me as I looked at showroom cars waiting for my service to be completed. ANYHOO, I recently converted all my car registration and tags and junk to MA from RI so of course I needed a new inspection. Well, that's not as easily done in MA as it is in RI. This dealership however makes it the easiest i found in the vicinity of Boston. They have an "express service" entrance in their garage for express services like oil changes, tire rotation, and inspections. So I just pulled in, a nice employee came over, asked what I needed and pulled my car farther in to a lift and got to work. It is important to mention that this is on a Saturday morning since many other places are either closed or are only open for a few hours and thus require an appointment. The service area is apparently open until 5 on Saturday although by state regulation, inspections cease at 2:30. I was in and out in about 20 min. All employees were nice with the only minor hiccup coming with the afore mentioned sales force, lol. The only slight gripe I had that keeps me from giving a full 5 stars is the slightly too dirty chairs in the waiting room. I would have sat in them if I had a long wait, but since I knew it would be quick, combined with the time spent walking around in the showroom, I opted to not sit in the coffee stained chairs. Oh that reminds me, they had 3 different flavors of coffee in the waiting room with well kept sugar and cream options. There is a dunkin donuts about a 2 min walk down the road though, so just go there to pass the time. Also, if you're like me and prefer to work on your car when possible (I know its hard in the city) you will appreciate that their parts dept window was well staffed and also open on Saturday. I plan to use this dealership as my normal service garage when needed. I was impressed. read more

I requested a quote to buy a new vehicle online, and was given a very competitive price. When i went in to purchase the car, i was told i needed to return the next day due to them going to close in 30 minutes. When I returned the next day I was told the price had gone up $1000 from the price that was previously written to me. When I asked for the company to be reasonable with me and not try to nickel and dime me for every penny they possibly could they refused. Overall, wasted 5 hours going there and back twice only to have had "Honda" raise the price $1000 the last minute. When I wrote the sales manager my experience I never received a response. Long story short, I told Boch Dealership what happened and the manager immediately agreed to match the price Honda Cars of Boston originally gave me. I took my business there. **9/4 Update** The dealerships response below shows the lengths they are willing to go to distort reality and further deceive more potential customers. To clarify the lies below, after driving 1 hour in and arriving on 4:30 on Saturday, the dealership failed to tell me the new price was going to be over $1000 more and led me to believe the deal we agreed upon was still in place. I think 30 minutes of face to face is sufficient to tell me the deal is no longer valid. The next day, I took the 1 hour trip there only for the new price to be revealed the very last minute (after waiting at the dealership for an extended period). To clarify the point about the price being higher because of my remaining 1 $248 lease payment, this is an outright lie by the dealership and I have their offer and paperwork of my lease payments to prove it! It was over $1000 more out of door price, PLUS remaining lease payment. When I started renegotiating, the dealership agreed to pay the lease remaining payment and give me all weather mats at 50% off. After spending 3 hours at the dealership, I asked myself why I was arguing over a couple hundred dollars with a dealership that practices such deceitful practices, and decided to take my business to a more honorable dealership. @HondaCarsofBoston, if you would like to keep twisting reality to scam more innocent people, I would be more than happy to send all the documentation I have to the Better Business Bureau to get their opinion on the matter. read more

Purchased a vehicle in April and my digital odometer stopped working back in July. Have tried to make several appointments in order for them to run a diagnostic and are always unable to accommodate me since I work further away and would need a car to get to and from work. The woman who transfers the calls is always rude and snappy. The least they could do is offer a rental car in order for me to be able to get to work. Hey you know what? It happens to the best of us sometimes. Had a car repossessed because of missed payments. Problem: they make it difficult to even send payments. Well what's the solution? Be a man and pay the car of Jimmy why doncha!? Alrighty then, That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more! So I collaborate with my brother to pay the car off, the coup de grace to the problem right? Wrong. We made payment and I call in. I have the payment reference number but before I call my brother tells me one piece of advice "make sure my name is on the release form so that I can pick up the cah" ok makes sense, thanks for the info brudda I'll make sure da guy knows. Call da guy... He asks for the reference number from the payoff amount (they don't take debit you have to go to a wah-maht to do a moneygram express pay which is the best option if you're paying more than 5k) other options are western union or an overnight check(a what? Beats me!) so anyways we made the payment kaboom! About 10k, he had to bring it cash because despite what Honda says they don't take a debit card. So anyways back to the story, he asks for the reference number and... I kinda butt in, in the middle of his question "wait a second, can you please verify with me" (I was trying to sound all fancy like those finance majors maybe he was a finance major in junior college I dunno!) can you please verify dat my bruddahs name can go on da release form. And he said "well give me the reference number and then I'll see if that can be done. Time-Out: why wouldn't he know if this can be done, maybe he's an intern? (Truth: he's been working there 7 years) I keep telling him, please find out first but nope, not gonna happen. Is he holding something from me? Yes sir. But why? Why would it benefit him? Who knows... I could only guess The low down is this: Once I gave him the ref number he put me on hold for an arbitrarily short period of time to which he tells me "oh yea, you have to write a letter and sign it so that your brother can pick up the car" Ok makes sense "ya big dope ya gotta write a lettah" I understand that but it's obvious that this tidbit of info should have been available to him right? I mean heck why didn't he say this at the beginning? Because he was scared I wouldn't give him the info? So what does that even say about him as a person. It gets worse. I grill him about this I'll be honest, but please tell me is this what I have to friggin do then? Ok. So I Did it, I followed his instructions ya kno people... And fax the shit outta that thing badda-bing and call... Transferred to a manager: "Oh... Umm yeah you have to get the letter notarized and THEN you can pick the car up" Ok ok, shit of course, no shit Sherlocks! Of course you gotta get it notarized pfft what was I thinking. - but wait why did the manager have to tell me this? A 7 year employee couldn't. Sounds like very senior level information... I needed an extra FOB (master key programmed) and ofcourse I've been putting it off. 2:40pm on a tuesday - called in 3:05pm - my car was being taken in 3:45pm - I had a brand new FOB/Master key and I only paid $103.00 for it. Kelly Honda quoted me $120. The best part was I was quoted $135.00 to which I agreed (hey I needed to get it done right away, no whining) and they actually underbilled me even though I was planning on paying $135.00. As a small business owner, that's a huge deal to me and earns 5 stars. While I cannot vouch for major repairs/service, I can honestly say that I would go back there again since they handled something basic with aplomb. Special thanks to Mike at the Service Desk who got me in and out at a lower price than I expected. P.S. they do wash your car...standard everywhere but worth noting. read more

Surprised by some of these horrible reviews. I've leased 3 new Civics through Rich Fonzi Jr. and it's been a positive experience every time. Rich is knowledgeable, fair and has yet to steer me wrong. I'm now driving a 2016 Civic EX and I love everything about it. It has rear and side cameras, a huge touch screen and just looks super fresh inside and out. I don't go through them for service for a few reasons. My car is always new so I rarely need any service. It's not really easy to get to from my house (Waltham). The few times I have gone through them they have been a tad slow in the service department but I've found that with most car service departments. I'm sure I'll get my next car through them, especially if Rich is still there :) read more

I have been here twice, first time I had them take a look at my SRS and I also mentioned my clutch was acting up. The guy told me I would most likely need a major repair but for now they added brake fluid to the clutch and it's started to work properly. He did not charge me for the break fluid and it has saved me money and has allowed me to drive a little longer till I can fix the problem. Bring car in today to fix a my o2 (well o1 to be specific) and on the way wonder if I will receive the same kind of quality service or will I receive a battle over the sensor being covered under an extended warranty. Answer= I hr later new sensor is in place, no charge! I like this place, it's a bitch to get to because you have to drive down Broadway. The road looks like someone has been firing high artililary shells at it, dropping bombs or maybe it just hasn't been repaired since the beginning of time. The waiting area is very well kept, and they have a flat screen tv where Ellen was on. Staff is courtious and so far seem to be no nonsense and helpful. bring your shitbox here, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Note: car may breakdown before reaching Honda of Boston because of said roadway (Broadway). Drive at your own risk, bring a flair gun to shoot if you get swallowed up by a pothole. read more

I've purchased several cars here since 2010 because the pricing/inventory was what I was looking for. I'm only giving them three stars because on each deal the trade-in process was absolutely horrendous. Every time they give you a price & have some clever rationale as to why that's it. I wouldn't even call it a lowball as I'm only usually looking for another $500 & then I'd be happy especially when I see what they've marked my trades up to when reselling them with doing little to no work to them. The other star was for not being able to fix my 1-month-old car on a Sat. & telling me that I needed to come back during the week because I needed a Master Tech. That's definitely not convenient for customers & a terrible customer experience. read more

We were leaving and the sales called my cell with atttiude and start the rants- -what is wrong with you guys? -Why didn't you buy the car? -There is nothing wrong with the scratches and we can fix it.( this is a new car of course this is a concern to my friend, we asked to lower the offer for the defect but the dealer was not willing to, fine , move on) -you wasted my time, you don't ever come again to our store with your friends to buy cars from us and he cut off the line. Wow wasted time there yes. We spent our time there as well. Things did not go well, it's too bad. No one want it to happen. But you talk to a customer with an attitude like that, it is a big super extra minus if I ever recommend my friends where to buy a Honda. With all these negative reviews here, should of stay away. I came in today due to an airbag light that kept randomly coming on after I had my airbag replaced. 1st time was when I was doing a 3 point turn, then it kept getting worse. 1st person I spoke to at Honda was telling me how I would probably have to pay money to get it fixed - all before even seeing the car. It really pissed me off so I spoke to the manager. He immediately got a tech to hook it up to the computer and it turned out to be the drivers seat belt that was covered under warranty. Glad I spoke up, and I'm really happy with the way the manager handled the situation. read more
