The absolute worst meal I've had since mud pie's at 3 years old. The fish Po' Boy was nothing but a soggy piece of fried fish with a hogie bun...none of the things that were described on the menu were on it...none. The "Green 'Mater" also came as a sad piece of over cooked beef, with two soggy fried tomato ish looking things. Nothing else...just a bun. Don't waste your money. We sat quick at 5:30pm. Cornbread was delicious! Catfish was good. Sweet potato fries a little over cooked. Apple pie was delicious. Hard to say if I'd go back for lunch/dinner, but for sure dessert. read more

Open on Christmas Day we tried this establishment. A little hesitant with some of the reviews. The service was so nice and attentive. Food came out faster than any of us expected for sure. Fried green tomatoes were obviously (too) greasy, yet still tasty. Food was quick and good. Not bisto or steak house quality. But that was to be expected. Talk about a hole in the wall restaurant. Some you hit jackpot and some is a crap shoot. This place definitely a jackpot. Good home cooking. My wife who is not a fan of fish, ate the fish and enjoyed it. My daughter devoured her cheeseburger. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak. The atmosphere is warm, homey, and inviting. They have the best Buffalo wings. We keep coming here for them. I know they're biscuits are so yummy. Yes the bathrooms are many but they're not in the restaurants but I feel like there customers service and the people there are doing their best. Going to see if breakfast is good. Getting seated can be a little discombobulated. A tip to avoid the timeshare people is to just state you are a local and they won't say another word to you. As for the food it's marvelous. Cornbread is very moist, lots of good butter too. Not the hard little packets either. I have ate here twice both times were wonderful. Great food...great prices...great for groups! My husband I had an early lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our burger basket and fried chicken dinner. The fried chicken was especially good. We hadn't visited in 7 years so tried it again. Much better this time. Some snafu's in our order led to a longer wait but they made it up to us. The basic meals are a good deal - cornbread, entre, mashed potatoes, and choice of corn or green beans. I had the chicken and was surprised it had 3 pieces. Hot and fresh. Only complaint is lack of a restroom inside. I suspect they have one but sent us to the one close to the movie theater; not sure why. read more

We had breakfast there this morning. In fairness, we had 6 adults and 6 kiddos but there were other large parties as well. They split us up - 8 ppl at one table, 4 at the other but the manager told our server that we were together (and we reiterated it...) It took her a very long time to take our drink orders and even longer to bring our drinks. After another wait, she took our food orders. Yet another long wait and the 4 top got their food, but not the rest of our party. We waited and waited and finally, when the other 4 were finished, we asked a random waitress to check the remainder of our order. She obliged and came back with "she's plating it up now". Another 15 minutes and the rest of the food arrived- cold and not edible.... $150 wasted. BTW, several parties were seated, ignored entirely, and left without ever being acknowledged by a server. I know businesses are struggling with staffing but wow! Both the service AND the food were bad. I used to love this place - not sure I will return. So sad! read more

The service itself was great, I felt bad for our server because it took an hour and a half for us to get our meal. My grandmother and my aunt weren't able to even eat because they had to get to a show when we got our food. It was tasteless and cold. we will not be dining again at this establishment. Pretty much a family style eatery, fair food and home cooked taste, I like this place overall and enjoy coming here, I only give it three stars because -well its not that much different than a lot of places in branson theres not a huge wow moment but just really average food and easy place to go before the imax movie starts. So there you have if it wasnt for the movie theater in the same place I probably would go to far out of my way to eat here, with so many places to eat in branson. Friendly waiter that was more than efficient. He kept all his customers taken care of even though there were several in his section. Always smiling and always checking back to see if we needed anything. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. They were a bit lumpy just so you'd know they were real. The batter on the chicken was brown and crispy, and the chicken was hot and juicy. Couldn't have asked for it to be any better. For Branson fare, this was really really good. I had the pork chop and it was succulent. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was delicious. Definitely a must stop when in Branson. Good old fashion home cooking! Really big portions. The manager, David is so accommodating and will make sure you leave happy and satisfied. All of the staff is wonderful as well. A good place to stop for a meal before seeing a show on the strip. As of October 2017, the menu on google is old and incorrect so don't go based upon that. read more

My husband and I are vacationing in Branson for10 days, and we are eating at different establishments for every meal. This is our 4th day and the first time I have felt compelled to write a review! The food was VERY tasty (meatloaf & chicken-fried chicken) and moderately priced. My BIGGEST compliment goes to our server, Rena!! SO NICE and very attentive. She surprised me by bringing more ice for my iced tea without being asked -- and not enough ice is a pet peeve of mine! I think she is the first server to ever have done that for me! The service was good and the food was fresh and hot. It's not really what I'd call homemade but it's not bad. I don't believe the catfish was actually catfish. I grew up with a grandad who owned catfish ponds in Mississippi so I know exactly what it tastes like. The fried chicken was good though. The cornbread is sweet so if you're southern this won't do. My husbands family from Iowa thought it was delicious but I'm from Mississippi lol and we don't do sugary cornbread. Present at open. We had a show at 11 but figured a large place like that which takes no reservations we could get right in at open time. They seated a few smaller groups and then began putting people on a wait list, even groups of 2 and 4. We were the 3rd group to be told we had a 45 minute wait. I asked about 20 minutes in if it was getting any better. Found out they didn't have waiters showing up on time. They told me they were getting ready to seat us so we stayed and they sat someone else in front of us telling us they were here first which we know not to be true and then they got really really snotty with us. By now, it's too late for us to get in anywhere else. I told the lady who was being so snotty that I could leave a negative review and she said to go for it that they didn't mind. This is a very poorly run establishment in a nice little mall area. Food might be okay, but with most of their tables empty I doubt many will find out. I highly suggest any place but here.
