If Hell had a McDonalds, this would be it. My story occurred on Friday, May 1, 2026. After being at the Hilton on Van Buren all week, I was in the mood for McDonald's. I asked Siri for the closet one, and it gave me this disgusting one. The general area is run down, crawling with homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes, and an atmosphere of danger, and need for caution. Well I had a meeting in 45 minutes and eat now or wait 4 hours. I went in and guess what? The interior was swarming with homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes, and an interior sense of danger. I went to order on the kiosk but decided against it, fearful of what disease I might contract by touching the screen. I went to order at the register where no one was at for a few minutes. I looked around and each and every worker was looking intently at their phones. I guess they were tracking the current status of their stock portfolios. I think they forgot where they were, and customers were a nuisance. Finally the register person came. After explaining my order at least 5 times, someone I suspect was a "manager" came and I explained 3 more times what I wanted. Getting frustrated and running out of time before my meeting, I gave up and left. I went to another McDonalds nearby and ate there. The employees here were incompetent and couldn't be bothered. One of the worst experiences at a McDonald's I have ever had. So if there is a McDonalds in Hell, this must be it. Avoid this location at all costs. Absolutely horrible customer service. Do NOT go here and do NOT use the drive thru. This place really overuses the whole "park up front and we'll bring the food out to you" routine. You can literally order a McSpicy and a medium fry, then be told to go wait in a parking space after already waiting at the window. There can literally be no cars behind you and they will do this. They do this so their drive thru timer doesn't get too high and they so don't get in trouble with corporate. McDonald's clearly doesn't want you to see a line of cars in the drive thru when you drive past. In reality, they can have 7 cars in front of you just waiting out front and now you have already paid before you can do anything. If you do go here, refuse to pull forward. That's what I did. With no one behind you it makes it pretty easy. If they want lower drive thru numbers they should be more efficient. I can also say I reached out to the "feedback" number on the receipt, only to have a lady literally lose her cool because she didn't understand how drive thrus work. Any other McDonalds you go to will have your food ready in a reasonable time. Also, it is more than likely this place was the one who got me very, very sick. The soda did not taste good and the guy at the window was sarcastic. The manager (blonde) acted u professional when I asked for a refund of the soda. I asked for ice cream in cups and they gave me one without a cup. I asked for a cup holder and they gave me guy rolled his eyes. He asked that we parked in parking lot 2 and stuck the sticker on the side mirror which I did not appreciate. Skinny guy glasses gave me half the order in a box and when I asked if everything was in the box it was not. I walked in to get the rest and was given attitude. Ok. We know that 7th Avenue and Van Buren Street in Phoenix, AZ is not the best area of town. That said, NEVER go to this McDonald's. The food is slopped together and practically thrown at you. Quality is poor - fries are cold and limp and sandwiches look like someone sat on them on a bus to Chicago. The worst part is - if you go inside you have to navigate through at least 20 homeless people, who haven't bathed since 1980 and wait to snatch food coming out that people ordered from online, or to panhandle for money and food. They are also sitting at the tables drinking water and not ordering or paying for food - they are using this restaurant to get out of the elements (there are numerous cooling centers within a half mile radius of this McDonald's as well as several shelters). The drive-thru line is as bad - they come up and aggressively panhandle while you are in the line, and attempt to take your cash while you are paying. The employees are punch drunk from these people and it definitely hurts not only the image of McDonald's but also their business. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! read more

I would recommend this McDonalds to anyone looking for efficient service, great food, and low prices. The new menu options are great and make the dining experience exciting. The meal I ordered cost under $10 which is pretty good for take-out/fast food nowadays. The value menu also makes it easy to try different menu items without spending too much. I ordered on the app which is super easy, anyone can do it and picked it up from the restaurant. This process made it very convenient, since I was already busy that day. With that being said, even though I did not order inside or through the drive-thru, the food was still served hot and fresh. I would definitely return to this location! read more
