I needed something quick so we drive over to McDonald's since this was the closest location. I usually don't come to this one since it's always a line that takes for ever. I waited 20 minutes once just to order. And trust me i couldn't back out or I would have. Now it was during covid so we gave it another try. As well it's down from the homeless shelter so it's always homeless around and people don't treat them nice at all. Either way back to the review. I'm low carb so I just got a round egg with cheese, a sausage patty (the best), and a hash brown. My sister got a bacon egg and cheese biscuit, extra cheese, and add a sausage patty. We both asked for the hash brown to cook longer as well. Roll back a little, we walked in and the inside has been remodeled, it looks really nice now. But they had one person there and a sign that read. We are short staff please use the kiosk. My sister walked up and the girl just stood there. I said read the sign. So my sister asked can we order with you she said yes and proceeded to stand there. the whole time I'm like are you kidding me. So she takes our order finally and we wait. We get my sisters drink and then the food came. We asked for strawberry jelly she said yes and acted like she was going to get it then said they will. Like what? We check to make sure it's there and go to the car to eat. I opened my box and please explain WHY they put the cheese slice on the bottom of the box? So i can't eat what i paid for because it's stuck to the box. I went back in and asked to remake it. I see one Manager put gloves on and I said no I want it fresh made please. I stop here frequently to get a bit of breakfast after walking my dog at University lake. Like all McDonald's, it's a bit sketchy and never quite reliable, but today I had a very simple order. A large water. Now, they've never messed up my order before, even at drive through, but I guess I hadn't gone there enough before. I roll up to the window and pay. I don't take my receipt because all I wanted was a large water. Give her the dollar and move on. At the second window I'm not only handed a medium cup, but inside the cup isn't water. It's Coca cola or some shit. "Dude," I say. "I ordered a large water." The boy looks at me and asks to see my receipt, which I didn't have. I hand him another dollar in dimes and quarters. The kids who work here are usually hard working and friendly! I come here about once a week for breakfast and seeing the same staff makes my day. However, they aren't giving their workers any personal protection at the drive through during the pandemic. They're even handling my credit card within a 2 foot face distance. I beg to differ with some comments about homeless people hanging around, yes sometimes there are, but a church that gives out free meals is only like a block away and if they are not open the location may get more than their ordinary shares of the hopeful homeless wanting a meal. I will buy a meal for a homeless person. Most of these people are harmless and will open a door for you and try to get noticed. I would could question all day why they can't or won't work but I don't have the time. There are sad stories out there. It's not this business's fault if homeless people flock to this spot. It's where the food is. Have a heart and spent a few bucks to help out your fellow human without a sermon. Jesus just gave and never asked why he should or if any of us deserved it, he just gave it.
