Cauliflower Custard with Caramelized Onion Farro and Beet Puree

Solid new American food! Hubby and I split the two vegetarian entrees. The mushroom ravioli has a delicious mushroom flavor and the mushrooms are perfectly cooked (but the dish was a little too salty). The cauliflower custard was actually surprisingly amazing and my favorite dish. Such an interesting texture I've never had cauliflower in before. Unique and tasty! Great dinner spot and service is great too!

Solid Crown Heights spot. Can usually get a table if you show up early, but they also take reservations. Great place to sit at the bar if dining solo. Consistently good food for the last ~10 years. The service here is also top notch. Lots of staff turnover like most restaurants but the new servers they hire are always super knowledgeable and friendly and welcoming. The bartenders always make great cocktails. No pretension despite the trendy neighborhood and vibes. Small things: The chairs at the tables aren't very comfortable - weird bench seating that they've had forever and I wish they would update. It's awkward to sit at the 6 top with 4 people when two of the chairs are fused together. Hard to explain this but if you go and sit at a low 6 top you'll know what I mean. If you're wearing shorts or a skirt the slatted style seating digs into your skin. The menu has been mostly the same for a long time and I like consistency, so no complaints there, but some of the dishes seem a little tired - I swear the kale salad used to be better. Overall this is still in my top 3 crown heights restaurants and if you're in the neighborhood, visiting prospect park or the BK museum, it's a great lunch or dinner option. Highly recommend!

This place is very mediocre and the price is ridiculous for its quality and portion size. The cake was good but four tiny pieces which do not even equate to one whole slice of cake is $11 and the ravioli was about 8 pieces and is $25. The cheese on the ravioli tasted cheap and flavorless. I am willing to pay for good food but this fell short.

What an absolute gem! Love this spot so much, from the moment you step in - to the moment you "waddle" your extremely full stomach outta here; you feel great! The wait staffs are ah-mazing! We sat and enjoyed ourselves the whole time, not rushed and truly, an amazing meal. Loved everything about Mayfield! Chill vibe! Everything we ordered was just amazingly good and we could've just stayed and enjoy round 2. lol Organic Chicken liver, just divine. The shredded kale salad, like others have said... a must! The wings were good too, right amount of tang & spicy. The cucumber salad is a great intermission. Oysters were fresh and delicious. The fried oysters were good! Our entrees were no wallflowers either; we got the homemade gnocchi (scrumptious!), the spare ribs (finger licking good) and the whole fish (trout?) was flakey and flavorful. Ended our night some delicious ricotta doughnuts and omg... just roll me outta here... light & fluffy texture, smeared with Nutella, freaking ah-mazing. Overall - a good spot for your night out! #eatlocally #bedstuy

Food: If you want to make your palate happy, this is a great neighborhood spot. Brunch: The steaks and eggs are well seasoned and always cooked to the requested temperature. Happy Hour: This is my favorite because you can't beat $1.50 for fresh oysters and beer. Service: The servers are attentive, and the bartenders are friendly. I love there is usually a basketball game on the screen. Ambiance: During the weekend, it is busy and can be a bit noisy if you are sitting at a table. I prefer the bar-top tables towards the back because I prefer hearing the people at my table. During the weekdays, it is a quieter and cute place to have a date night or get caught up with friends.

Food was great, service was great, no complaints for brunch ! Brick interior was nice. Only complaint was the bees outside but, how can you control that haha

The spot is A+ and my girl Lauren(pls let that be her name) the awesome sister who is a fantastic waitress! Kind and patient I always wanna be in her section! It has this cool dark bit cozy industrial feel. The dark woods, metal and dem light work well together. I like seating in front of the kitchen at the high tops, get to see everything...for us nosey folks! The steak and fries was everything!! Cooked to a perfect medium rare and delicious succulent!!! But a must try is the doughnuts they were so good a light. I would slightly heat up the Nutella at the bottom of the so make it easier to eat. But other than that my meal was great and I will continue to support my local phat girl heaven!!

Came to Mayfield at the tail end of happy hour and got a glass of wine and tried the fried eggplant sandwich. All in all it was super tasty and the service was friendly and accommodating. The inside feels like a nicer restaurant that I'd say feels in between more casual and upscale. It's located right off of Franklin and is a great option for happy hour! Our table got the plate of Oysters and everyone that tried them said they were great! I'd definitely come back for another happy hour soon :)

So I previously been for Brunch and had been really wanting to try their dinner and BOY WAS I PLEASED. Mask is required when walking through the restaurant and vaccine and ids are checked when entering. I also appreciate the many hand sanitizer stations they had throughout the restaurant. Our server Issy was a delight and very attentive. I started with a Dirty Martini which was served with kalamata olives and juice...something new for me and also very tasty. HOWEVER, I must admit that the other drinks my friends had didn't impressed me (lacked flavor and love). So the drinks here are just mehhhh. Now to the food. Fresh oysters- pretty good for the $2 oyster special they have everyday. Cornmeal fried oysters- the oyster itself wasn't that tasty. They were a little bland and chewy. But it's served over this smoked salmon and picked noodles which were to die for. Wings- nice, meaty and drenched in sauce just how I like it. Fish and chips- batter was nice and crispy. Fish was flaky and melted right in my mouth. I also appreciate a good fry and they were perfectly seasoned. Mushroom ravioli-it's a winner. Bursting with so much umami flavors. Smoked spare ribs- some of the best spare ribs I've had in a really long time. MUST HAVE Olive oil cake- they really should take this off the menu. Dessert is suppose to be special and this seems like a "thrown together" dessert. Visually unattractive and looks don't lie...in this case lol Overall a great experience many more highs than lows and I'll def be back for another dinner.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. The bottoms were so crispy, it was almost like it was a layer of potato chip! Really great texture, and the fish meat was cooked to perfection. Really sad that they're closing, but looking forward to whatever the chef/restaurant team does next!

It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

This place was the winner, and it was everyone's first time. We got in at our reserved time, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before our table was ready. Once it was, we were taken care of and quite frankly had no idea what treat we were in for! Let's start with the drinks. They have a drink on the menu called Celadon City. Who won the staff as a pokémaniac?! I had to get it just for the name. The rice vodka, yuzu, melon liqueur, and other flavors made it a fantastic, summery drink. My friends got the Smooth Landing & Smooth Talker ... One was a fantastic dirty martini and the other had the best bite of ginger. The food... Oh my God. We decided to split the breads and spreads and burrata... Each came with their housemade grilled focaccia, and the smoked paprika hummus and ricotta with chili honey? WHEW! The burrata dish with the sweet potato, pesto and tomato jam was a hit too. The menu didn't even say I'd have a balsamic drizzle on top! All of that was just the warm up... My gnocchi dish was spectacular. I'm not even a big mushroom person, but those oyster mushrooms and charred kale were a hit in the pasta. My friends' gigli pasta and mussels were great too. We ended up sharing a bottle of white wine as well, and the dinner was truly a 5/5. 0 I would absolutely go back, and it seems like their menu changes every now and then. I'm looking forward to the next time! Even if it's just for a cocktail.

On my second visit, the thoughtfully designed space felt just as inviting. We sampled the rest of the menu after loving everything last time. Standouts included: Delicate Long Island fluke, perfectly portioned for sharing Squid ink deviled eggs - so good we ordered them again Deceptively simple lobster rice, bursting with flavor Revelatory yellow fin tuna - I'd return just for this The mackerel's fishiness may polarize, but the skin's easily removed for milder tastes. Desserts shone, from the millefeuille to cherry panna cotta with contrasting jellied top and luscious pudding beneath. Only quibble: a spoon would serve the panna cotta better than a fork for scooping every drop. When we asked, they graciously brought one, even noting they should consider always doing so. Reservations are scarce for good reason - Four Horsemen is a gem. I'll gladly vie for a table again to see what other creative dishes emerge from this kitchen. With just a bit more attention to small details like cutlery pairings, it would earn that final star.
