    grilled chicken quesadilla,
    Eric H.

After work we pulled up to Maya by Richard Sandoval to celebrate my guy's birthday like responsible adults... barely. Upscale but cozy. Seats so comfortable I almost forgot I had bills due. Started strong with the LOADED nachos -- grilled chicken, crema fresca, black beans, pico... yeah, those disappeared fast. MVP of the night. Then came the chicken flautas. Crispy, flavorful... and heavy enough to humble a grown man. My boy ordered the grilled chicken quesadilla. Way too much cheese. We wanted flavor, not a dairy workout. Other homie got the sizzling steak fajitas -- came out sounding like applause. Steak cooked perfectly. No notes. Service was a little weird at first, but our server was cool and attentive. Happy hour vibe? Elite. Great atmosphere, solid options, tequila selection on point. Overall: Nachos win. Steak earns respect. Quesadilla needs supervision. Birthday mission accomplished.

Happy hour adobo chicken, flautas, and tuna ceviche.

Had a nice experience here. Went for happy hour on a Friday. Sat at the bar and was greeted quickly. Ordered my drinks and food at the same time - 2 drinks, 3 food options. Drinks came out pretty quickly, food came out almost too quickly. Got the tuna ceviche, flautas, and adobo chicken tacos. Everything tasted good. The flautas were the best, nice and full. The restaurant it beautiful, great space.

I stopped in at this restaurant for brunch! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a busy restaurant. I was greeted and sat and Rachel was my server and she was great. I ordered from their Bottomless brunch and a la carte menu. I ordered: Red Sangria Short Rib Flautas Chicken Tinga Tacos Huevos a la Mexicana Mimosa Flight (Traditional, Mango, Strawberry, Maya with blood orange) Traditional Margarita Skirt steak Fajitas The food as delicious and the Huevos were my favorite! All in all good experience!

I always come here for some drinks and their calamari is amazing. Service is always good and the noise level is usually moderate. I honestly prefer coming here than Tán. Had a bad experience there

Their Bottomless lunch + drinks is a great deal - doing both is $59 per person, while food only is $35 and beverage only is $24. We came for a birthday lunch and we had a great time! You can order the foods and share them family style, so we got about 2-3 orders of each dish, while getting refills or new drink orders.

In the mood for Mexican brunch in NYC and found this place courtesy of ChatGPT. Food tasted delicious and fun to order with my son. Similar to tapas style when ordering from brunch menu. We tried almost every item on menu besides the mushroom tacos. If you're from California, don't expect Mexican food like there. Reminds me more of cuisine in Mexico City that you'd get in Roma Norte or La Condesa, which is a compliment.

If you are looking for a CLASSY boozy brunch, this is your place! I've now hit up Maya at least 3 times for a Sunday Funday brunch, and I had a fabulous time with each visit. Before I go on too far about brunch, I must warn you that not only is Maya brunch all-you-can-drink... but it is ALSO all-you-can-eat! Ummm... you heard right! And, despite being all-you-can-eat, the food is high quality and tasty! Some of the highlights from brunch include the Al Pastor Tacos, Huevos Rancheros, Short Rib Flautas, Chicken Enchiladas, Mexican French Toast, Churros, Chilaquiles... and I could go on and on because they have so many great selections. I even love their corn on the cob, and I'm not one to dig into a cob in public! But, at Maya, I just can't help myself. Any review of Maya brunch wouldn't be complete without the booze -- and the stand out here for me are the Bloody Maria cocktails (Bloody Mary with tequila instead of vodka) and Margaritas! Go for it because these babies are all-you-can-drink! Note that you'll be full and drunk when you walk out of a Maya brunch, but every once in a while it's okay, right? =)

Really nice ambience in here with comfy chairs and dim lighting. I came to have a quick dinner with my friend who works nearby and though it was slightly loud, it was a great place to catch up since it was just the two of us. I ordered the al pastor tacos, which were $19 and came with three tacos. I didn't think that these tacos were worth the price. I found the tortillas to be somewhat stale and very flavorless, and I was still hungry after finishing these tacos. To put the size in perspective, I finished one taco in two bites, so my whole meal was 6 bites. Because the menu was on the pricier side, I didn't feel like ordering more food was worth it. I think if you come here you're more paying for the vibe and the space rather than the food. Also wanted to note we had a very kind waitress!

The one star is to the bar tender and our waiter ... the manager Bianca the hostess could take some training in customer service - very defensive - We had a reservation at 1pm for the viva Abeja , which was not honored because it is only served for dinner- in the web site it is not mentioned that is a dinner only event- which we told the waiter and he sent the manager Bianca (we were told this is her name) with such an actitud told us the same thing the waiter had said to us with no apology for the miss information --- only when I pointed it out to her she said she now knows and will tell her marketing team to make the change- we asked if at least the drinks offered in the viva abeja menu were able to be served- and the straight answer was NO. After I told the waiter why I should have paid more attention to the reviews I guess they figured another bad review was coming - and we mentioned my friends fiancée is also a chef that has worked in the past with chef Sandoval and are friends magic happened : Bianca the nasty manager was wall over the tables that were near us... offering and even serving them. The restaurant is short on ambience, warmth and def customer service ... I will say the waiter tried his best and he was nice. We ordered the shrimp tacos and we were asked if we wanted melted cheese on top, we said yes. We were not told cheese comes with an extra charge of $4. Mimosas were ok. We even wanted to try the churros ... omg. Dried and re re refried. Street churros taste better!! So, for the first experience ... I will say I won't come back- there are other options... everything that could have gone wrong with brunch happened here.

Delicious. I've been going here for quite a few years now because all of the food is delicious, service is great, and the unlimited drink options is tough to beat!!! Bathrooms are clean, huge space, easy to get a reservation for brunch. Highly recommend. Thanks Carlos for taking care of us during brunch!!

The drinks, cuisine and service were great. The margaritas flight of 3/$33 hit the point. The lights were not too low to see the menu. The seating was comfy and roomy for our coats and bags.

Good experience. Had Andrew as our waiter, and he accommodated us extremely well. The food was quite good as well - had the plantains, as well as the carne asada, both of which were quite well. For an appetizer, we had the guacamole, which we also really enjoyed. Vibes were great, service was great, food was great. Only thing I can complain about is my drink wasn't all that strong. I'm marking this place down and I'll likely come again.

Maya is undoubted one of the best bottomless spots in the city. The Mexican flavors are spot on & delightful when you get both bottomless food & drinks. Definitely a great place with a group so you get to try everything from tacos, taquitos, enchiladas to dulce de leche french toast & fresh churros. The margs & mimosas are tasty & served generously. Service is kinda slow but not uncomfortably. Ambiance is nice though not like a typical vibrant colorful Mexican cantina. Prices are bit high but food quality is equally good & worth the price.

    How's the music during brunch?

I remember it being lively - can't remember specific genres but brunch is more of a party scene versus just a place to eat. I think they give you a hat to wear if it's your birthday. Hope this helps!

If there is a large party for brunch does everyone have to do unlimited drinks if majority of people are - or can a select few just do the bottomless food?

I had a large party for brunch and no, everyone does not have do unlimited drinks the waitress will ask everyone who will be doing unlimited drinks. Some friends did just do bottomless food without the unlimited drinks and others got both.

Hi Robert! We have mariachi bands in on special occasions only (Mardi Gras, New Years, etc.) and announce in advance when it's happening. Hope that helps :)!

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
